Morning all.
Dee – Glad your grandson enjoyed Cinderella. Now that I think about it, he might have enjoyed Cinderella’s "physical attributes", LOL. Awww, sorry to hear your hubby will be gone again this weekend. Sweet of him to be worried about you running into a deer on the road. I say just be very careful and avoid driving during dawn/dusk/dark times of day. Re rubber boots – yes, better than needing snow/winter boots!!!

Thanks for the input on the cars!
Happy – I hope you’re having a good drive today, and that the vertigo doesn’t bother you. Thanks for the information about your car and the features. Neither bf nor I do a lot of driving in the car, so I don’t think navigation or satellite radio are that critical for us. But like you said, the various models have various features packages and you don’t get to pick/choose like in the olden days, and most packages have more than you want/need. I’m alright with using my cell phone’s google maps app in lieu of navigation, but I think the models bf is interested in (both US-made, BTW) come with navigation. A Garmin unit would be handy for switching between cars as needed. I can see how the on-star type service would be a good thing to have out by you. Bummer about that design flaw re your rear roof/windshield. Was it the first model year of a redesign? I’d really like to have a remote starter…speaking of, bf’s mom has a vw and if I recall, either it can’t be done, or VW offers it only through the dealership. They also don’t sell windshield wipers for her vw at an auto supply store – have to get them through the dealership. I didn’t know that VW was like that ‘til bf’s mom bought the car at the end of her lease and had to start paying for stuff herself. Re the rubber boots – the ones I have don’t have any support, and I don’t wear them enough for long periods of time to bother putting one of my pairs of custom orthotics into them. The boots, however, are handy for the yard. For walking/commuting I should check into a pair of rubber shoes, some type that laces or buckles so the fit can be a bit more secure.
Annie – Sorry to hear about your friend from Humana losing her hubby. And just when she was going to retire. Very sad. That shrimp parmesan dish sounds tasty. Did you find a recipe for it yet so you can make it at home? Let us know how the ham turns out in the crock pot. We’re also having ham for Easter and will use the Nesco roasting pan for it so we have room in the oven to do the taters (scalloped from scratch), green bean casserole (bf’s fave) and whatever rolls we end up making. Angeled eggs, lol. I like that. I’ll have to make time to boil & dye some eggs…and I might hop over to the Dollar Tree to make up some small baskets/goody bags for our dinner guests – bf’s mom and my friend D and her sis. Gosh, yes, I should think tourists might shy away from Indy with the exploding manholes and that religious freedom law causing such a kerfuffle.
Shad – Glad you’re keeping busy now. You’re into your weekend now – hope you had a good flight back home and that you’re having a good weekend.
Ceejay – enjoy your OT pay. How do you like your hair cut? Did you buy anything good at Barnes & Noble?
Terra – Any special plans for Easter? Hope the shopping goes okay. I should think the stores will be busy today and tomorrow!
Susie – Glad the wound doc said you’re on the mend now. Congrats on your new exercise bike – saw the pic on fb. Bet you can’t wait until you’re more healed so you can start using it! I’ll keep an eye out for a pm or email from you re KI. Looking forward to it! Enjoy your shoe shopping today!
Michelle – Nice sendoff for Bob, may he rest in peace and his family and friends keep his memories alive. Nice you had a short getaway to Vegas. Glad you enjoyed Elton John. So very talented! Bf and I have seen him twice, with Billy Joel. Great shows. Good plan for the job search and freelancing. I know you’ll find something suitable soon.
~~
Let’s see, I’ll start with Wednesday. I got home from work and changed clothes for yogalaties class. Bf had the car, however, and didn’t get back until my class had already started. I was ticked at him, but it wasn’t too late, so I drove over to class. Only to find that class was cancelled.

I was steamed about that because I hadn’t gotten an e-mail warning me. When I got home, I found a message on our landline phone that came in around 4:30, saying class was cancelled due to a family emergency for the instructor. I wish I’d checked for messages, but I didn’t notice the blinking light. I also wished bf had been home to get the call so he could tell me, LOL. I suppose I’ll have to watch for that, or get the school district to add my cell phone number to their records.
Anyway, I was already in workout clothes, so back at home, I did the 4th 15-min. segment of the pilates dvd, working the thighs. That was the most challenging one of all of them IMO. It moved very fast and was full of sun salutations and lunges, squats and plies. I was sweating a bit by the time it ended!
Re the icemaker – the tech who came to the house the other day didn’t find anything wrong with it. He believes a piece of ice may have blocked the water inlet or the sensor or something and caused the water to keep flowing. As of now, it’s up and running fine. To be on the safe side, we’re going to be careful not to pile up too much food on the top freezer shelf that’s right beneath the icemaker. The thought is that it redirects the cold air flowing into the freezer and might mess with how the ice maker works. For now, all’s well, except we’re out the cost of the tech’s visit, $62.
Yesterday I did a Piloxing class at the recplex because I wanted a break from the circuit class. I like this instructor better than the other two I’ve had for past piloxing classes I’ve taken, so I might actually do this one again. It was a good sweaty workout. About half the class (and the instructor) wore weighted gloves. I bet that really increases the challenge, because my arms were feeling it without any extra weight. It was good to be in a studio with the mirrors – wake up call to get my act together with trying to lose this excess weight!!!
I don’t recall if I mentioned my cell phone issues – when the phone would get down to 30% battery level, it would go into power save mode and turn off/down a bunch of settings – wi-fi, Bluetooth, auto rotate, brightness and volume. It would also switch over from mute or vibrate to sound. So all that would happen unless/until I would plug in the battery charger. I’d checked through a bunch of my settings to no avail. Very, very annoying. Bf kept saying I needed to do a system reset, but first needed to back up everything onto the Galaxy software. Well, yesterday bf decided I’d put if off long enough and took it to a tech at the ATT store while I was at my exercise class. Turns out it wasn’t a faulty update that caused the issue, it was a setting in my AVG (anti-virus) app! So no reset needed and now I can let my battery completely die out if I want without all the settings going wonky. Yay!!
I know this will sound silly, but somehow I misplaced one of my combs last night after using after I showered last night. It's driving me nuts that I can't find it anywhere. I'm sure as soon as I buy another, it'll turn up.
Our office will close at 3 pm today. There’s a special express train at 2:25 that I probably won’t be taking, but I’ll try for an express that leaves at 3:45. I’ll go home and do some house cleaning or shopping. We’re having bf’s mom over for Easter dinner on Sunday, as well as my friend and her sister.
Tomorrow I’m meeting a friend for breakfast, and after that I have a hair appointment. After that will probably be more work around the house, including making a dessert for Easter.
That’s about it for now. Time to post! Have a good weekend and a good holiday everyone.
