Good Afternoons! It's another cold gloomy day in my corner of the world. It was 17 degrees when I came downstairs this morning. I didn't have to leave the house today which was nice. I did some laundry and have been on the computer trying to order the calendars Beth created. I order four, but had to change the credit card information and the final confirmation email came through twice, so it looked like I had ordered eight. I canceled both and tried to reorder one and what a SNAFU that is turning out to be! I sent a help request to customer service and didn't hear back so created another order which was never confirmed. Finally got a notice back that they could put the reorder through if I would ok it. So explained what I had done and told them to figure it out so I only get four. I spent the afternoon trying to finish a library book so I can return it/them tomorrow, and waiting for the calendar email. In other words, wasted the whole afternoon pretty much.
Maggie, a cough that hangs on is annoying! It's good yours is almost gone! Wonderful news for Will! It won't be long and you will be able to use your motorhome. Time flies for sure!
Bob is home so should think about something for supper. Hope you all enjoy your evening and have a super Saturday tomorrow!
Good morning ladies. I have my sewing workshop with Kelly today so I am up and at 'em early again. It is going to be another cold wet day here.
It was nice not to have to keep the car and run around at all yesterday though we did go out last night and go to WM so I could get better produce and soda and Jack got coffee and creamer. These are all things either the commissary doesn't have or has a lousy variety.
Went into the dr office to get my blood work done on Thursday and they made me sign in at the front desk and sit and wait again. I sat there at least 15 minutes and when they called me back I unloaded. My doctor was there and walked back with me to the area where they do the work and this woman said no one had even let her know and she had no patients. Anyway, I got it finished and went to Flynn clinic. Such a difference. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. My scan was totally clear thank goodness. She did the ultrasound from my groin to my ankle and no blocked veins and no clots.
Maggie: You must be getting excited to be getting things done to get on the road. Hopefully all things will work out for you. So glad Will got a good report.
Jean: Ok, tell us the story about Beth and making calendars. If you ever said I missed it.
Good Morning! The sun is shining brightly and it's a little warmer this morning -- 23 degrees earlier when I came downstairs. I have clean sheets on the bed, sheets in the washer, cat boxes cleaned, and thinking about a tuna casserole for lunch. Will take library books back after lunch.
"Gma," I hope you enjoy the sewing workshop today. We used to have all kinds of groups to learn how to do things, but not any more because "you know who" never come. I must say I am surprised your WM has good produce. Our's is ratty looking, maybe because it has to be shipped so far. Glad the ultrasound was clear so you don't have to worry about that. Beth makes calendars with the kids' pictures and a few years ago it was cheaper to make the year start anywhere but January. I pay for them and have to put the order in using Shutterfly, and every time have trouble. This time I did the order on the laptop thinking maybe I wasn't seeing all the directions on the iPad. Well, when I got the confirmation, I got two within minutes of each other, and it looked like I had ordered 8 instead of 4. So I contacted customer service help and cancelled both orders. When I didn't hear back within two hours, I ordered again. Then I get the email saying they would reinstate the first order, for 4, as soon as they heard back from me. I wrote again explaining now there could be three, but I never had a confirmation on the third order. Still haven't heard from them on that one.
The washer is done so need to get the next load going. Hoping you all enjoy a nice weekend, whatever your plans may be!
Good morning to you all. It is going to be rainy but nice and warm today and looks like spring is here to stay now and the next 10 days are pretty much into the 70's.
We had a great time in class yesterday. I did get behind on first project but that is because someone put the wrong fabric in the wrong pile so I was making the wrong thing. It had very long sides and you had to zigzag completely around it so everyone else was done with their zigzag before me because their piece was smaller. It wasn't my fault as I actually ask her which piece was which and she gave me the one she said I should use. It all came out ok as I just made a different sized pillow, but I was way behind. The only bad thing is the class started 20 minutes late, she got too involved explaining things we would do in the next class (201) and so when we finished up the first project it was 1:20 and instead of having an hour for lunch she gave us 20 minutes. Kelly and I were 10 minutes late getting back to class and got the fish eye but Kelly told her outright it was not enough time to order something and get it to eat and we did takeout and gulped it down. Well, they were making new bobbins and Kelly and I already had ours done for the next project so we were caught up anyway. I truly enjoyed it and found all the sewing came right back to me. It was learning to use my machine that took time and repeatedness to learn some things like threading a bobbin or needle. My stuff came out great, she said I had excellent straight lines, etc. I did have some difficulty doing some things on the machine because I am left handed and they were awkward, but Kelly helped me with a couple tips that made it easier.
I came home yesterday afternoon pooped and with a backache from sitting in folding chairs all day so we hurried through with dinner and cleaned up right away then sat and watched the Notre Dame/Kentucky game. Man, ND almost beat that scumbag Calipari. Calipari used to be the coach here at U of Memphis until he snuck out of town overnight and the next day announced he was the coach of Kentucky. This slimeball actually held a press conference saying he was not leaving Memphis, (there were rumors about him leaving) and had already accepted the job at Kentucky. The school didn't even know and he literally packed up his house and family overnight and skedaddled. On top of that, he had cheated at every school he has coached at including Memphis so there is no love lost for me. I can't stand the guy. I feel he has no business coaching college kids. I wanted ND to beat them so bad because they said Kentucky would wipe the floor with ND. In actuality, ND was ahead pretty much the whole night and only lost by a basket.
Meatloaf is for dinner tonight with scalloped potatoes for Jack and I am having broccoli and asparagus with fruit and unsweetened hibiscus iced tea. I did really well ordering lunch yesterday as I got a turkey and avocado sandwich on whole grain bread and a fruit cup for lunch. Of course, my stomach never knew what hit it as I gulped it down so fast. Looks like I may be even steven lbs loss wise tomorrow, but she did warn me that the provera could cause me to gain weight so I am not worried about it. I figure I am eating exactly correct, not taking in too many calories, eating the correct gr of fiber so everything will come out fine.
Jean: Ahh, I understand now about the calendars. I use Shutterfly for our cruise pictures and our Christmas cards every year and have had nothing but good experiences from them. Wonder if it is because you aren't the account holder or something. Who knows? Hopefully you will get what you need and no extra and no extra charges either. Today is commissary day so that blows the whole day pretty much. I saw the most adorable piece of fabric they had for us to practice on yesterday. It had these cartoon cats all over it and was in bright colors. It was so cute. I have to make a pair of pajama pants next class so I am deciding on making them for Jack or for Thomas. Kelly said I could make them for Thomas, but I may make Jack a pair.
Good Afternoon! We started the day with sunshine but the wind has blown the clouds in. We're in a wind advisory until tonight and it's cold outside. On the spur of the moment we skipped church and made a quick trip to the cabin. The mower died on the last mow when the guys closed the cabin, and Bob wants to see if he can fix it. I think we bought it in 1976 when we moved to town so it doesn't owe us anything. It definitely looks like it has seen better days. I wanted to check the life jacket sizes for the kids. They've all grown so much this year! Ian will be excited because in Iowa, 12 year olds no longer have to wear them -- unless Grandma is along. We are home again and any chore motivation I had has flown the coop.
"Gma," I'm glad you enjoyed the sewing workshop yesterday! It's too bad the teacher didn't just extend the class time since she ran over before lunch. I hate being rushed when eating out. When you talked about the game between Kentucky and ND, I kept thinking North Dakota. You can tell where I live! We had that game on too, but clueless about coaches. There have been rumbles about the Iowa football coach being way overpaid so it wouldn't surprise me to see him move on. Beth sent the Shutterfly phone number so will try that later. Soccer practice begins today for Kolby.
Guess I will start on a grocery list for Easter dinner. As far as I know the kids will be here, or at least I am planning on it. Hope you all enjoy the rest of a super Sunday!
Good morning to you all. It is going to be a warm and sunny day today I think. Well, at least it will be warm. We may be expecting rain now that I think of it.
Today was weigh in and I lost 1.5 which isn't too bad because I did have to eat out a couple times and though I did my best to eat high fiber and veg you can't control what goes on in a restaurant kitchen. Like I said before the doctor said this med also makes you gain weight so the fact I lost I am pretty happy with. So far the med hasn't worked at all and I am on my 6th day.
We went commissary shopping yesterday and half the shelves were empty and the deli and bakery and sushi counter are all gone for the time being. According to the sign it is something about contract problems. We have been going there for 14 years and I never saw it closed down. Gave me a bad feeling about the commissary overall. Jack said not to worry about it that things will be ok. We came home and put it all away and made ourselves some lunch. Then I washed and folded a load of clothes, made meat loaf and scalloped potatos, asparagus and broccoli for dinner and cleaned all the mess up.
I told Kelly I had a coupon for Joann and if we go on April 8th to their store we can save 20% on everything because it is senior day. I told her I would buy everything and then pay her the difference for the class since she paid for our next set of classes. We have to get fabric and bias tape and elastic and several other things.
I have to hop to and clean the downstairs today and upstairs tomorrow and Wednesday. I have a dr apt with the surgeon on Thursday so I hope he releases me finally and I plan on getting my nails and toes done that day. I took off my nails yesterday as it is time for another new set. I only wear one set about 2 months before I take them off. Jack is off Friday for Good Friday and Monday for MLK memorial day (day he was shot here) so he has a nice long weekend.
I have a hair appointment on Saturday and that takes up half day almost. I need it badly because my roots are showing. It is all screwed up again though as originally we were going the first weekend in June through the whole following week and weekend then come home on Monday June 15th. Then they said they were going to be gone that first weekend to go to North Carolina so we moved it back to the last week of May and going home the Monday after, which was June 8. So I worked it around and made my appts so then they were then 7 weeks apart. She then called and said his school year had been extended and they couldn't go to North Carolina, something to do with Kelly coming up there so could we move it back so I did. Now it is all screwed up because my next appointment in May will be 8 weeks out and so my roots will really be bad. Ahh well, nothing I can do about it.
Jean: I talked to the kids for just a minutes yesterday and Jackson's new soccer year starts this week too. He had to have all new pads and stuff I guess because she can't find the other ones. We are going to a brunch for Easter like we do every year. I just have to make sure not to be tempted by the bananas foster or the other desserts! It is not a huge buffet, but it is nice enough that I can get salads and fresh seafood and they have a carving station and such.
I guess I better hop to it and start on the house and get breakfast. I bought a new great grains cereal with cranberries so I shall see if I like it. I have the one with bananas and it is pretty good. I am not a big cereal eater but have had to eat more to get the fiber in and get in whole grains. Have a good week everyone.
Good Afternoon! It's been another very windy day and my thermometer says it's 70 degrees right now. I'd love to open the sliding doors but know everything that's loose would be plastered on the opposite side of the house. Church and gift shop counting went smoothly again today. Our Lenten "giving" was designated to go to the "free food" distribution people. Needless to say, they got the least amount given in the last several years. I had to get more diet cat food after lunch and I was lucky to park by a Fed Ex truck which gave me a wind shield going into the vet's office. Tomorrow is my once a month coffee date with a former coworker. We kept having conflicts in March and the month will be history after tomorrow.
"Gma," On 1.5#s gone forever! The Easter Brunch sounds good. Sioux City used to have a Joanne's Fabric but it's long gone. The clerks were very helpful and pleasant. I hate it when schedule changes screw up my schedule. Zowie's concert has been changed three times, but so far no problem for us until soccer games get going. I think it is on a soccer night if that schedule is the same as last year.
Bob has practice tonight and could be later than usual. I'll be glad when the Maundy Thursday production is over and done with. Need to think about something for supper. Enjoy your evening!
Got my hair cut to start the day and it has been a busy one for sure.
We are still planning to take the whole month of June to use to travel through and enjoy Sequoia, Yosemite, & Yellowstone national parks. We have been to all of them in the past but it has been many years ago. When I was a child my parents took us to all those places rotating where we went each year.
When we lived in the valley below Sequoia and men (my uncles) would take their families up there and leave us there all summer and they would come spend the weekends with us for they worked during the week and it was so much cooler in the forest than in the valley below. I remember my fathers mother being with us and she was such a hoot. When the men visited on weekends they would have done some food gathering for they brought enough for the coming week. They were so good to replenish all the items that we needed. There were 4 adult women with about 10 kids between them that spent summers there. I remember especially one weekend the men brought up an ice cream maker and that was a big hit with everyone.
When I was older my father bought out my uncles shares of the cabin they later owned together in the Sequoias so it was ours to use when we wanted to or loan out. When I was working I would spend my two weeks vacation up at the cabin. That place slept lots of folks for it has 4 bedrooms, 2 large couches in the front room that make into beds and one of the bedrooms is full of bunk beds. There is a nice shower in the bathroom but in the winter time we had to use the “out-house” which was decorated quite nicely though. Staying at the cabin was certainly different than living on the Forest Floor as a kid. I still have a set of keys belonging to the cabin.
We dropped of the MH off down the road at the place that will be installing the new fridge this morning, They will fix a few other items that we put on the list also. When they are done with it we plan on parking it out front here and get it loaded with what we will need during the month of June we plan on being gone for “vacation.”
Good morning to you all. We are going to have a lovely week temperature wise this week but probably a lot of rain. As long as we are getting into permanent warm up temps the rain is ok.
Jack just headed out to work and I am going to do the dusting and vacuuming upstairs today and the bathrooms up there tomorrow then I am done for a couple days at least.
Jack is having crab cakes and tots for dinner and I am having shrimp stir fry in garlic sauce and green beans. It is an excellent way to get a lot of veggies and is super low fat. I really like it too.
I ordered a small table to use for my sewing machine. I don't have anything I can sit the sewing machine on if I do any kind of sewing at home in the future. Looks like my new reading glasses will be here tomorrow. I went to get the pair I carry in my purse out and they were broken in half. I have only worn them one time! I will make sure these new ones are in hard cases instead of a cloth case like the other ones were.
I wish they would post my lab results on the lab website. I am anxious to see what my A1C level is. It would be great to be off diabetic medication and be back to normal for sure. I am so lucky though as I have never had high blood sugar except for those initial couple weeks when I was diagnosed. I did talk with her about the fact I read an article that said once you were diagnosed and the fact you were aging that you probably would never be diabetes free. She said that was untrue. She said the way I am eating is a sure way to get off the meds and be in normal range. I truly long for that. I saw what this disease did to my mom and my brother and what my sister deals with too. It killed my mom, messed up my brother's heart, his eyes and his circulation even though he lost over 200 lbs he is still never going to be insulin free because of his circumstances, my sister has neuropathy in her legs and feet and has continuing problems with sores and such on her legs that are very slow to heal. None of them took care of their disease like they should. It frightened me so much that even when I wasn't eating a proper diet, I didn't eat what would raise my blood sugar levels. I know my situation was different because it was caused by medication, but if I hadn't kept an eye on it, it could have ballooned up for sure. The doctor told me she thought I should teach her diabetes class because I was a true success story.
Maggie: Won't be long now, just a couple months and you can get on the road. It is a great time of year to be going to national parks for sure. Some of them can be quite chilly in spring or fall, but summer temps make it great for walking around and such.
Jean: We have a Hancock fabric here in town too and a lot of the sewers use it. I think there are two stores here in Memphis. I have to say I am a bit nervous about making something from a pattern. I do sew fairly straight though and bought one of those magnets you put on the machine that keeps your fabric in line for the seam allowance so that should help too. Which cat is on a diet? I couldn't get Fortune to eat specialty dog food for the life of me. I would end up making his food, which was a pain in the behind.
Well girls I need to go. You all have a great day today.
Good Afternoon! It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood, sunny, 70 degrees, and just a little breeze. After the awful wind yesterday this is delightful! I spent the morning having coffee and conversation with my friend, then made a WM visit. There is a hair salon in the store which carries the same brands as our beautician, and cheaper. Of course Bob and I use different brands. He is out with another farmer friend plowing a field. He wasn't sure how long it would take and isn't home yet. Another Maundy Thursday practice tonight; they haven't had everyone at a practice yet because of bad colds and stomach flu. So far we have avoided both. I have a load of clothes in the washer which will be done shortly.
Maggie, a months vacation will definitely be something to look forward to. Sounds like fun to visit the parks! I hope the fridge installation is complete without any glitches.
"Gma," is the sewing machine table a table especially for a sewing machine? I want to get one for my portable once I get the bedroom cleaned out, painted, and new carpet. At the rate I'm going may be Christmas. That's too bad about the broken glasses. Both "boys" eat the diet food. Sonny is the one the vet was concerned about. They are both 18#s, but Ernie is long in the body where Sonny is short and roly-poly. He said it wouldn't Ernie to eat it too. I can only get it at the vet's and it is pricey. I just bought some and asked when Ernie was due for shots because I wanted his ears cleaned out. Both are on a three year plan now, which must be something new. Used to be every year and that is harder on me than them. Anyhow, who knows if they each get their fair share when I have two bowls, one for each. My mom always said a cat wouldn't overeat like a dog will.
Guess I will change clothes and do some closet digging. Hope you all are enjoying a terrific Tuesday!
Good morning to you all. I was so tired last night I went to be really early so of course I am up early this morning. It is supposed to be rainy all day today and around 9 or so we had a real thunder boomer. It was pretty warm for most of the night as I kept the fans on all night.
I am fixing chicken and rice casserole for dinner tonight. Jack really likes it and me not so much, but I did find that using instant rice works better even though is it cooked for an hour. I am having cauliflower and beets with my piece of chicken and I may have about half cup of the rice but probably not.
My older sister's nephew just had major cancer surgery which took 90% of his tongue and lymph nodes and such. The man is a couple years younger than Kelly and chewed tobacco for 20 years. He set up a gofundme account for donations as he will be out of work for a year. He has a son around 12 years old though he is not married. It's a hard way to learn a lesson. I mean they have been talking for decades about the danger of mouth tobacco. I thought about the boy so I gave a donation. He came through the surgery ok, but will have to have a feeding tube for months I guess, which can cause it's own problems with infection and all. On top of that he has no insurance so I guess his hospital bills are going to be enormous. He has to learn to talk and eat again and I guess the rebuilt his tongue with part of his leg or something like that. Some of the stupid things we do to ourselves even when we know we shouldn't.
I got the dusting and vacuuming done upstairs but I may wait until Friday to do the bathrooms. I have a dr apt tomorrow so I can't do it tomorrow. If I clean the bathroom this morning then the tub mat will be loose and I can't get into the tub with it not stuck down. Since I have a dr apt in the morning, I will have to take a shower before Jack does and the mat won't have been tapped down by him so I am just going to wait. I don't need to take a fall with everything else.
I am going on my 8th day of the meds and it hasn't fixed the problem so I am assuming it won't. I will finish all 14 days but I am not holding out much hope at this point. I did see my blood tests results are up and my A1C is below 6 again, which is great and everything else is in the normal range. My cholesterol is really good and tryglycerides too.
Jean: No, I ordered this rectangular table from Target. Jack and I did the measurements and I knew that my sewing machine would sit on our tray tables without much room so I used it as the base then took the measurements of the table I bought to see if it was big enough to have fabric on, etc and it is. I might have to have a tray table to hold my sewing box, but the machine and fabric will work for sure and it can be folded up and put in the pantry. Jack will use one and only one shampoo, the coconut fragranced Sauve. I buy Vidal Sassoon's shampoo that is made for color treated hair. I could buy salon products I guess, but I pay so much for a haircut and color, that this stuff works just fine and I can get it at the commissary. I quit washing my hair everyday as my color lasts longer and I wash my hair in cool instead of hot water and it keeps the color longer too. Since jack gets his hair clipper cut he doesn't have much so he quit using a conditioner. I don't use a conditioner on my hair either except rarely. How far away is the summer cabin from where you live? Seems you guys have to drive so far for anything like family, or extensive shopping or whatever. I am not sure I could ever get used to living in a small town anymore. Growing up we had to drive 20 miles or so to go to anything bigger shopping wise. We had a couple grocery stores, one my uncle owned and it was a true country store. It had wood floors that creaked and an old fashioned cash register, a butcher counter, etc. It is a wonderful memory. Clothing and such had to be purchased in South Bend. We had a dime store and it carried a few pieces of clothing but not much. It also had the wooden creaky floors. We had a drug store too but that was about it with regards to purchasing stuff. I now have a Walgreens across the street, a Mapco convenience store and a liquor store across the street the other way and two gas stations and a Walmart neighborhood market a mile away. You have a trade off for sure though. You have a nice quiet little town and we have drugs and gangs and murders all the time. We live next to a busy street so you hear fire engines and police cars, and cars and semis all the time.
Everyone have a nice middle of the week. Be careful today is April Fool's day!!
Good Afternoon! Another sunny, very windy day in my neighborhood. The thermometer says 81 but I don't think so. This morning I worked on cleaning out the fridge of drips, crumbs, and a few food items that needed to be pitched, clearing off the island again, and making my Easter grocery list. Tomorrow morning I will brave the grocery store early and hope I don't forget anything. I have bell practice later this afternoon, then will make a "to do" list of cleaning chores before Easter. For some reason I'm not as fussy when it is the kids coming. Bob always says I should clean after they leave. Ha ha!
"Gma," we have rain and storms predicted for late afternoon and evening. We need the rain but not the storm part. What an awful surgery for your sister's nephew! I wonder why he didn't take advantage of Obamacare? Next thing is he'll be sued for not being able to pay. It's beyond me why any intelligent (?) person would chew or smoke after all the warnings. The high school health teacher had a big poster of a kid who chewed, missing part of his jaw -- not pretty. I did find my hair spray in with the others on the WM shelf and it was the same price as the WM salon price. I was surprised to find it there. The cabin is a little over an hour with the summer tourist traffic. We figure we are 1.25 hour from Sioux City, and 2.5 hours from Sioux Falls. Storm Lake is approximately 9-10,000 population not counting those at the college nor those here that don't want to be counted. We used to have three discount stores, Sears, Wards, a nice Penneys store, and 3-4 dress shops, but WM took care of them. We have several "temporary" immigrant clothing stores and restaurants, plus they have their own grocery stores. The grocery stores have been here awhile but the others don't last long. Of course our larger grocery stores have aisles of "their" food too. We have a state of the art regional medical center here for general care, and helipad for emergencies going to Sioux City or Omaha, the university, a variety of churches, two packing plants (ugh!), and a million $$ plus school district with two new buildings and another one in the remodel/additon stage. I wouldn't want to live in any smaller town that's for sure. We have several within 15/20 miles or less, and they come here for medical, groceries, etc. Our quiet little town usually has a full page of police arrests in the twice weekly paper! So far no bombs but there have been threats. The table looks like a good deal. If our deck doors are open we hear the highway (two lanes) traffic three blocks away. We are on the edge of town so the speed is 55, which is what all Iowa two lane roads and highways are. Bob calls us the of cart state because MN, SD, and NE (?) are all 60 or 65.
I need to get busy or I will out of steam to do anything, but a nap does sound inviting. Enjoy the rest of this wonderful Wednesday!
A new month has begun. ♫ I have pieces of April and I keep them in a memory bouquet.♫♪ This is my month for it was given to me when I was a sophomore in high school as “girl of the month.” I still have the silver charm they presented to me for it has the words April Girl and a space in between them where they had my name engraved. Each school month at the high school I attended they honored a girl each month for scholastic achievement, being helpful to others and other “good traits.” They made a big thing of it and had the parents come to assembly to observe the presentation. I didn’t have a clue I was getting the award and I was sitting “out of bounds” in the senior section with my sisters group. When the principle announced for me to come down to the stage he didn’t see me in the sophomore section and some of the Sr. boys laughed and said they had me captive in their section. Wasn’t it sweet of them to take the blame for me being out of bounds. OH and another thing it was also Western day and my sister and I had made Indian outfits with burlap bags and we wore “war paint” and looked real cute. The photographer from the local news paper told me that I could come by the news office on a regular day and he would take my picture for the paper. So you see this month is mine.
Each day I get a bit better. But my sinuses are giving me fits and making my eyes itchy and my nose runney but the coughing has abated. Now I wish my nose would quit for I am making it raw with all the blowing and wiping. It is a bit windy today and it doesn’t help my condition at all.
We also went by the place to get my drink and picked up a can of the mix. I am back on it today. Now I need to make a list of what fresh veggies I need.
While out and about we stopped at Wal*Mart and picked up some necessaries. We will go back later this day and get one of their rotisserie chickens which we can have for dinner. We stopped earlier at our coffee place for a fresh ground bag and the owner invited us to her mothers house for Easter Dinner but I don’t think we will be going.
DONNA FAYE & JEAN I will come back and do "personal" comments later for right now I have to go tend with something.
Good afternoon gals. I had to get out early this morning and take Jack to work then headed out pretty early to go to my surgeon's apt so never got in here this morning. It is 82 at the moment and partly sunny, partly cloudy. I had the windows and the moon roof open with my 60's music going today so it was fun.
I wore capris and sandals today. Whoopee I am sure glad we are into warm weather. No jackets, which drive me crazy.
My apt went well, I have to go back in 3 months and if nothing then he said he would release me so only one more time and I am done with that doctor.
I went and got my nails and toes done in aqua today for Easter, then got some more veggies and fruits for me. I wanted some canned yams or sweet potatoes without syrup but almost impossible to get. I found a big can that had Splenda so I went ahead and got that one but don't know what it will taste like. We shall see. I bought another jar of pickled beets. I really like the pickled beets and I may boil some eggs and put hard boiled eggs in the beet juice. I grew up eating the pickled eggs and really like them too. It is a nice way to get some protein.
I put ribs in the crockpot then will transfer them with sauce on into the oven later. I cut them in small portions so I can have a couple bones with some asparagus and some of the yams tonight I think.
Jack is at a retirement luncheon and one of the guys he works with is going to drop him at home so I don't have to get back out today. I am going to clean the bathroom tomorrow while Jack is out getting his hair cut, then Saturday I have a haircut and color and we are going to a brunch on Sunday.
Maggie: Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Jean: My hometown has less than 2000 people. Like I said it is a real Mayberry. It has grown a bit since they put the state park in a 3 decades ago, but it is still very small. It was fun growing up there, but when we moved back we only lived there a year and I hated it. Everyone knew your business and gossip was rampant, which you never knew about when you were a kid. I am sure your house is spic and span and the kids are there to enjoy you and Bob and could care less about the house anyway. I found your house on Google earth and could actually almost get up to your front door! I was gonna ring the bell, but I didn't.
It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Each day I get a little better and am almost back to exact. It is just my sinuses that are giving me fits right now but not as bad as yesterday for sure.
We just got back from taking a load of Will’s things to the storage place and had borrowed a friends truck from a good friend to take it with. I am in here munching on some veggies and he is out there loading the truck again. I don’t think I will go with him to take this second load. He wants to go out for Mexican food this evening and I think I am going to have a bowl of Chili Verde and some Rice and make myself some small burritos.
DONNA FAYE Isn't it fun to make things you used to like now days ~ like pickled eggs. I have never had them butt they sure sound interesting.
