Mel - Hope a meal gets rid of the nausea and that you can get back to sleep. !@#$% alarms!!
I think you posted that coffee graphic to get Ms. Java here.
I think I heard a blurb on the news re that election - it only stuck in my head because I don't care for the name Cory, LOL. the boss lady didn't have any comments to speak of re my project, which was our 2014 budget, BTW. Apparently neither did her boss.
Off it goes to the financial planning folks.
Happy - Did you get the cats to finally settle down? Or did they keep going until the energy ran out? It's no surprise to me that your Firebird took forever - it was the 70's and the car mfrs still thought they were the kings of the universe. How did the box sorting in the garage go yesterday? Our garage doesn't have boxes stored in it, but it sure could use a clean-out!
Shad - Aren't you on the warpath!?!?! And who could blame you - a lot of foot-dragging going on. Glad kitty is healing well.
Annie - Isn't that just the key - string the losses together. Instead it's been ups and downs. Sigh. But I'm not giving up!!
Another nice day here - how about by you? Worthy of a "sick" day?
Ceejay - We're having cool weather too, but I heard it's going to be heating up soon, and by next week we could be in the 90's.
When I think "what if something happens to us", a whole host of thoughts cross my mind, and one of them is someone else having to go through all our stuff. That's by no means the most critical concern if something happens, but it would be a major chore. For you, it's much more real - in what's really a short time, you'll be making a major move and you sure don't want to drag too much with you. The key is you know it's coming and can address it little by little.
Hi Michelle!!

Nothing to report. Wait, yes there is: My HS gal friends are planning a cruise for our milestone bday year next yr. So far there's only 4 of us, but I'm 99.9% sure I'm on board (get it - on board for the cruise, yuk yuk).
Have some planning to do for that, as well as trying to find a cheap flight to get to my mom's in MO in Sept/Oct. I think I've given up on that though...not gonna do Greyhound, not gonna drive - too much time. Just gonna suck it up and book the fight and be done with it.
Oh, bf and I went out to eat last night and when we got in the car to leave the restaurant, the car wouldn't start. It's some sort of electrical thing, or the starter/ignition. Not the battery because that was replaced last May - unless it's defective, but I don't thing that's it. He wiggled some wires under the hood and turned a lot of the electrical accessories on and off and got it to start, so we weren't stranded, but ugh, hate car problems. Oy, hope it's not too expensive.
NOTE TO SELF: Buy the !@#$% motor club membership already!! (I keep putting it off. Doh!)Okay, back to work. TTFN!

WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT IF I TOLD YOU I HAD TO GET UP TO GO POTTY AND AS SOON AS MY BUTT GOT INTO THE WHEELCHAIR....THE COPS CALLED ME!
Was talking to my cousin this morning and my Mom last night - both asked what I was up to and for the life of me, I drew a blank. I know I did something to while away the day but what was it???? Most days seem like that lately. The day is actually filled with little but totally unmemorable things - clean up counters, vacumn, clean the baths, scoop litter boxes, tend to the plants, etc. I am trying to take a room at a time and go through it completely and reorganize and toss things I don't need or don't use. The other day started in the laundry room - not a big room but by the time it came to do supper, I still had more to do. And more annoying - it doesn't really look like I did anything that took 6 hours to work on
We are going to a fish fry tonight and tomorrow to an Italian buffet special at the casino. So 2 nights out this week
To make up for the extra calories I have been eating Lean Cuisine meals for lunch all week and watching my supper portions. Weather warmed up a bit - we are kissing the 80 degree temps - kind of warm for DH working outside but I hope it gives a boost to my tomatoes. And we had a new momma turkey show up with 9 baby chicks. Mom is by herself - that's a pretty big brood to handle herself. I can't believe she is the momma to all of them. Hummingbirds are going through about a gallon - yes a GALLON of sugar water each day. I think they are starting to prep for their long trip south. My cousin got their firewood (they heat with a wood stove), wood pellets and stocked the freezer at a meat sale last week. She said she is preparing for winter. I said isn't it a little early???? But I will blame her totally if it snows next week
I understand what you are talking about with the motor club - I wanted to keep AAA and DH said we had the same coverage on our insurance. We argued about the expense and the fact that we hardly used it so I gave in and just dropped it. But it's nice to have when you need it. Funny that you talk about the back up camera. With cars that park themselves, back up cameras, directional guidance systems in 10 years we will be telling our grandchildren about how hard it was to drive in the old days when we were learning and had to "rough it" ourselves. I barely remember the days when power steering was an option as well as disc brakes but it was harder
