Morning all.
Didn't do all that much yesterday. I lazed around with the newspaper all morning, then went out for some errands. Picked up a book from the library that I had on hold. Picked up some kielbasa from the Polish deli for lunch and then to Walmart for a few things. Back home, I took doggy for a walk and came back to eat lunch w/ bf. Bf went to a friend's house to watch the football game, and I did one measly load of laundry. I finished watching Downton season 2, except for the Christmas special. The dvd is due back to the library today, so it's a good thing I actually have the Christmas special dvr'd. I also watched a Hallmark movie I'd dvr'd yesterday but it really was pretty lame - I think it was called The Makeover. Annie - What a lot of moving of stuff for you this weekend! And heavy stuff! Hope you're not sore today. And yes, weekends like that sometime make it a relief to go back to work on Monday!!! Where is C's daughter when all this cleaning of her former abode is going on??!! Whatever, none of my biz... With all the donations, I'm sure Goodwill appreciates it, and you'll have something to deduct for your 2013 tax filing. The meatloaf sounded yummmy!! Michelle - I'm glad you had a nice time in Madison! My friend D made the hotel reservation yesterday for next weekend - we're sharing a room. We'll be watching the weather this week. Sorry you're feeling sick. :( I hope you nip it in the bud and it's not long/severe. No insurance, yikes! Well, at least it's a short month to be without it. ;) Just stay healthy! We haven't had too much snow around here, but the timing's been pretty awful - hitting during rush hour again this morning! I'm glad I didn't have to drive in it, but the walk to the train station was a PITA because not many people had cleared their sidewalks yet. And walking from the station to the office was a huge mess - a lot of slush in the crosswalks. Oh well. Shad - The museum sounded interesting. Like Happy said - we didn't always hear as much about the real horrors and difficulties of the war in our history classes, and there's so much more available in the form of museum exhibits and documentaries now. There's always something to learn. Seems like there's often no happy middle - too much work and it's stressful or too little and it's slooooow. Hope Tuesday is better for you. Ceejay - Sounds like the new food plan is going well. :) I snack from stress or boredom. I also want to have something right when I get home from work - if I don't stop myself, I often grab something junky and collapse on the sofa. Happy - What a funny story about dh's vision problem! Don't let him live that one down! Of course, he can come back with you thinking the septic vent was a bunny... LOL. So did you have wings yesterday? If so, what kind of recipe did you end up using? Did you buy your accordian folders? I was shocked how expensive that kind of stuff is, and I did check the internet and it didn't seem like there was anything out there priced much less than what Staples sold it for. The other hanging files I have are what I have from years ago, and that and other stuff was unwanted stuff from many clean-ups at work. But when you need something very specific like what bf and I decided we wanted for storing our user manuals, I guess we just need to suck it up and pay what the office supply store is asking. Glad we don't have to buy it very often. When I used to go to more work conferences that had exhibit halls, I used to get quite a few freebies of the small stuff - pens, letter openers, memo pads, sticky note pads, etc. And I save large mailing envelopes and pocket folders and repurpose them for storing tax docs, etc. I guess it's nice to not ever have to buy any pens, but there's probably a point where you have too many and they'll just sit too long and the ink will dry up... Mel - the pic you posted is definitely Happy's house - all the critters all around!! :D Love it! Hope the plumber took care of all the drips, especially before you get another lake forming. I hope you're feeling better now. I can't remember my last workout, and my body is not liking this lack of movement! :nono: I need to get back to it! This week will have to be when. Hi Ellen!! Hi Patty! Cheers! |
LAURA...funny thing...we have not seen hide nor hare (for Happy) of Cs daughter since she moved out. She did catch up to C one day to get the key back to get some stuff, and of course has not returned the key. Samantha was hoping his daughter would stop by there while she was there cleaning, she wants to tear into her so badly. Sam said she wouldn't even treat C like that and he is not even her dad. My kids take better care and thought where C is concerned than his own kids. We are going to send her a bill for 250.00 bucks for the cleaning, even tho it didn't cost us that much, but hey she did skip out on two months rent. We (C till 9) but I until it was over on the super bowl. I thought it was good and was happy with the outcome.

Whew the bosses have left till tomorrow. I had to manually close #2 filter Sunday. They have been trying to fix the problem all day. My main boss called in the person who helped install all this new stuff. He'll be here in the morning.
So far the MRC is working. I needed a plan with structure so I chose this one. I still have some snacking during the day. For some reason I'm in a blah mood. More later. |

HAPPY.....I WAS JUST THINKING OF YOU. were your ears ringing? JEN & RICHIE JUST LEFT AND WHEN I TURNED AROUND, THERE WAS A TEENY TINY BIT OF SUNSHINE SNEAKING IN MY LIVINGROOM WINDOW. THE SUN MUST BE SHIFTING A BIT. I ALMOST DID A HAPPY DANCE!:dancer: |
Hi all,
Didn't get in here this morning. First thing in the early a.m. podiatrist appointment. The pain in my foot is getting progressively worse. She said I have bursitis. Not an easy thing to treat. Anti inflamatories 3 times a day. Heat applications via compress or the ahhh foot spa. I really don't want to be on my feet any more than I have to. Guess it's good that I decided to go through some boxes and papers. She said this can be caused by ill fitting shoes - not the case OR prolonged standing on the feet. :duh: Reinforces it was the right thing to leave the job. Doc and I had a comiserating discussion on how the medical staff (puppets to the system as she calls it) are being more and more restricted on patient care. I will do 3 weeks of the aspirin / heat treatments and hopefully it will clear up. Otherwise the dreaded cortesone shot in the foot :yikes: Went to the grocery store after the doc, came home, put groceries away, made lunch, got on the computer for a short bit and got really tired. I didn't sleep well at all last night and I was also nervous about oversleeping for my doctor's appointment so that made me restless. So I took a nap. I spent most of the grocery shopping trip in the produce and meat aisles so I have lots of lovely, fresh items to eat. DH and I had yesterday's left overs for lunch and weren't very hungry for dinner so I made a small salad of romaine lettuce, dried cranberries, a bit of candied pecan bits, shredded white cheddar cheese, chopped rotisserie chicken and I enticed DH who at first said    to pomegranate seeds to at least try them. He did, said they were not bad and sprinkled some on his salad. It was a divine salad if I must say so myself. I had white balsamic vinagrette and he opted for Olive Garden's Italian dressing. We also indulged in a small but deliciously crusty roll hot out of the oven. Even though it was freezing cold outside, we both enjoyed the salad. I have been slacking terribly on the fruits and vegetables lately and my brain and tummy have been missing them. I am ready to get back on WW program again. Mel - I'm so glad you got some sunshine. We need a bit to perk us up. And the graphic you posted is so perfect for my house. Yep, it looks just like that, complete with jumping animals. Reading your post I see we got up at the very same time today. You were just trying to be a supportive sister and making sure I got up, weren't you? Can't believe the people in the office left a drip like that. Man - why don't people have common sense anymore? Or is it that they just can't be bothered. Sad... I'm glad you are not going overboard trying to make up for their lack of smarts. How are you feeling today? Did the muscle aches ease up? Sven and Igor will be back in a couple of days. I can call ahead for a booking if you like. Do you want both to massage starting at each end and working towards the middle or should one feed you grapes while the other massages your tootsies? ;) Ceejay - I'm glad to hear the MRC plan is working for you. I think it's a great option for someone who likes structure and a specific plan to follow. Sounds like you like Mel are having to keep things in check at the workplace. Annie - I meant to say before when you talked about S walking into the house and finding glued on cat litter in the sink - I fear what is lurking down in the pipes :yikes:  Very sad that someone would disrespect a loved one like that AND stiff them on the rent. Someone needs an azzzwhackin' big time. You know you or C will never see the cleaning money. Take her to small claims court - maybe then she will understand that life is not a free ride. Ooh yum meatloaf, if it wasn't such a far ride.... ;) I totally get what you are talking about looking for food when bored or restless. I used to eat alot more when I was at work than I do now - if only they'd let us drink in the office :dizzy: Michelle - glad you made it to work safe and sound. I heard it was going to be pretty lousy down your way. I was never more grateful for the commuter train than during the winter months. When I had to start driving again I'd get myself all worked up watching the weather channel and anticipating a bad drive. So many people are sick right now, it's really hard to avoid the germs. Rest and vitamin rich good foods will do you right. Feel better! Laura - you have given me a taste for some smoked kielbasa so I picked that up today on the shopping trip. Grrr on the people not cleaning off their sidewalks. Used to annoy the heck out of me. You guys really are down on the snow this season. Do you have a well or city water at home? Glad you got caught up on Downtown Abbey. Just in the nick of time  And we did not have wings yesterday. I had the fixings for pizza so DH whipped up some of his special pizza sauce and we had that instead. I was thinking about picking up chicken wings at the store today but it was at the other end of the meat counter and I turned off before I got to them and forgot. I also don't remember how he said he was going to make them - some recipe he found online. I didn't really pay attention because I knew I would not be eating them :o I'm much more of a cat person than a dog one - more experience with cats and cats just take up the bed and push you out, dogs can run you out of town  But they are asking for help walking dogs at the Humane Society and you walking Coal put a bug in my head. I was thinking maybe if they had a small dog I could keep up with, I'd do that. It has to be good exercise for both of us. First I have to get this foot healed up. But it's an idea. Do you walk with Coal or does he pull you along? Did you get a good sleep Shad? Had you heard any more or are you wrapping up this current contract? Forgive me if you answered and I missed the post. Hello to the rest of the Worldies. Actually good night. Time for bed as I look at the clock here. |
Evening all,
Today must have been idiot day or maybe I have it tattooed on my forehead. No, you will not get a purchase order until you release the work order In order to make the thing receipt the goods, you must tick the goods that you want to receipt The purchase order does not produce the remittance advice. Producing a cheque run does that. The Service entry final entry indicator is found on the last thing you do before you close the work order - that's it - a Service entry sheet - not the purchase order. The purchase order only orders purchases!!!!!! That's why it is called a purchase order. My god, I think he's got it. There were a couple of other things that were a bit tougher to solve than that, but my brain is picked clean. Everything must now wait until tomorrow. |

Hi ladies -
Quick fly by. We're getting a few more inches of snow today, but thankfully I got to work before it started falling! :yay: And it should stop in time so the afternoon commute isn't affected. :crossed: Happy - I hope the meds and doctor recommendations help ease the bursitis pain. Good idea to go through boxes since you have to stay off your feet. How 'bout coming down here and going through all my moving boxes? And yes, it does reinforce your wise decision to leave the job where you stood all day. The salad you made sounds YUMMY! Mel - Sorry I missed Jen's birthday. Please wish her a Happy Belated Birthday from me. I'm glad she had a great day. And I'm glad Richie made it to Brooklyn safely. I hate slick/icy roads. I hate shoveling snow. I'm tired of winter already. :faint: Annie - I hope you get to plan some relaxing time for yourself (or yourself and C) very soon. I'll try and do more personals later...probably after work...as I've got a lot of programming to get done today. But one of the great things about this job...is you're not allowed to work more than 40 hours unless pre-approved. I could get very spoiled being limited to a 40-hour work week, which is pretty much unheard of in IT. Much love and many hugs to all, |
Today is day 4 of major headache!....I have tried ibuprofen, aleve, anicin, tylenol and asprin. It puts a dent in it but never goes away. I am attributing it to my high BP. Doc appt is tomorrow morning. If I don't get some relief soon, I may have to poke someone in the eye.
SHADDIE...we must go to the same tatoo artist, I am pretty sure my forehead says, "DUH" on it. Yes I really know what I am doing, take my word for it you idiots. Must I always have to prove myself. HAPPY...I was wondering if there wasn't more to your feet hurting. Bursitis, blah, you poor thing, especially when it is your feet. Walking is a must and a PIA when we have to give in to owies of the feet. Take it easy today...hugs MELLIE...sorry I missed Jen's birthday. It was on my mind when posting then I spaced it...I will blame it on the headache. The crusted pork roast sounds delish, especially when someone else is doing the cooking. YUM CEEG...cheer up sister...think of all your blessing in life. Hugs to you sweet sister. LAURA....what kind of trouble did you get into last night...lol CHELLE...have a mavelously happy day!! Hey to all ya'll Loves,, |
Morning
Not much has happend since yesterday. The man coming to fix the filter will be here around 9. I'll be thankful to get back to normal. Didn't have a good night. Tummy troubles so I took a 1/2 of a phenergran and went to bed. Tummy feels better this morning. Think this was nerves do to the bosses being here yesterday and the trouble I had on Sunday with the filter. We have a heavy fog this morning. ------ Happy Hope your feet feel better. Guess my podiatrist jumped the gun a bit when he started giving me those injections years ago. Hope the meds work for you. Michelle Oh my, more snow!!!!. Mel I love that picture. This is how a snow scene ought to look in my opinion. Annie Hope you take some time for yourself this week end. You have had a lot on your plate. Laura Don't guess I've ever seen Downtown Abbey, But then I don't watch a lot of movies. Hello to the rest  |
Morning all.
Ceejay - Hope your tummy's feeling better today and that you have no stress either!! Downton Abbey is a PBS tv series set in England around the time of WWI. Lots of fancy clothes and pretty settings and British accents!! :D Annie - A headache for 4 DAYS????!!! I'd be at the doc's office trying to get some kind of powerful remedy to get it to go away. Definitely get over there if you think it's your BP - don't wanna mess with that. I spent last night trying to stay out of trouble - returned a couple things to the library to avoid fines, went through the mail to make sure the bills are under control. Good thing too, because the water/sewer/refuse bill is due today! BF will drop it off at the village hall. You should bill C's daughter for the cleaning. What a disgrace to take advantage of her dad that way. It'd serve her right if the stuff she wanted to retrieve from the house was already tossed - or being held for ransom!! Michelle - Glad you beat the snow on this morning's commute. What kinds of stuff are you listening to while you drive? On the train I listen to a podcast of a local radio show, and I'll also watch the Suze Orman show sometimes. I also listen to an NPR podcast called Filmspotting - all about movies. Otherwise I read. Whoohoo re the 40-hour workweek!! :carrot: Mel - Another nice snow scene you posted. :) I also like the pic of the amaryllis in the window. :) Sounds like Jen had a nice b-day chock full of tasty meats, LOL. Bf and I were watching a cooking show over the weekend that mentioned how often the average American eats steak and realized we were way below average!!! So we need to get out and eat some steak!! :lol3::hun: Glad the leaks have been taken care of. Yeh, there's always laundry to catch up on. Even if I keep up with my own clothes, there's always the sheets, towels, etc. Bf is on his own with his "Mt Laundry". Shad - Glad most of the questions were easy ones yesterday...but scary if they really were that basic and relied on common sense of the user. :yikes: Happy - I'm so sorry your feet are in such pain. Hope the heat and meds help a bit, but if it were me, I'd already be screaming for the shot! Though I really don't have a taste for salads in the cold weather, that salad you made sounded delish!! I do prefer pizza over wings, but I like wings every once in a while. I did a bit of research and I guess the WW at work program includes the online etools also, including some kind of point tracking system. I think I'm gonna tell the benefits folks I'm interested. I need something to get me focused again - my weight lately is just hovering within the same couple pound range and not going down. Yeh, Coal is a puller. We walk him on a flexi-leash so he can walk ahead and sniff around, but at the beginning of the walk, with all that pent up energy, he'll pull like a sled dog for a bit before settling into the sniffing routine. Bf doesn't like it, but I figure if we walked him on his short leather leash, what fun would it be just to walk properly alongside us and not get to wander on the grass and sniff trees, etc? He doesn't go to the dog park anymore, so this is his exercise. And a bit of ours, to a degree. == While I was sorting through the mail, I came across the Simpson's Movie on tv and watched that. Bf stopped reading his book and watched it too - don't know why we don't watch the tv series more - it just makes us laugh and laugh. Got the final 2012 reimbursement from the FSA yesterday, so now that that's done, I'll pay the co-pays on a few of my doctor visits from late last year - ran out of FSA $$ for those. Have to call someone re the mammo bill - that's supposed to be 100% covered and I got a bill for $16. Not much, but it's not my responsibility. Having lunch with a work buddy today. Fighting a cold - late last night I felt something in my throat, and overnight my throat was sore. Not sore right now...please, please, can I just not get sick, for Pete's sake??!! Okay, back to work. TTFN! |
Hi ladies,
I was trying to get on the website earlier and kept getting server errors. Guess they got it fixed. Tomorrow is DH's birthday. Boy he's getting old  Not sure what we will do yet. He's not big on birthday celebrations. He has decided to do the heart ablasion so they are getting him ready with blood thinners and some pre-prep work. Looks like it might happen mid to end of month next month. Not much going on today. We got about 3 more inches of new snow last night. Powdery stuff so not hard to clean up. Sun is shining now - looks like a nice day out there. Might go out and help DH and get some fresh air. I ordered some yoga DVDs - waiting for them to show up. I like the prices on half dot com but they sure take their time shipping - whereas with Amazon Prime it's free expedited shipping and that has really spoiled me. While at the podiatrist yesterday I noticed at the check in window they had a sign that they were no longer taking Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. I was shocked as that was always the best insurance carrier. In fact we had that as retiree insurance but when we moved up here we had to take another carrier. Ok, that has no real significance to anything but I do keep an eye on what's going on with insurance more than I used to. We have United Health Care now and I have to say, they have a nurse calling regularly to speak with DH and I am quite pleased with the follow up and information he has gotten from them. In some cases they even intervened to help with problems he was having with his CPAP. I probably should have taken more advantage of them when they called me a few years ago. Laura - I think you are wise to walk Coal on a flexible leash. Heck, the fun of dogs are to sniff and explore and they need more walking so to allow him to roam (in a controlled manner) makes for a more happy puppy. He's kind of big to have to deal with in the house if he doesn't burn that nervous energy on his walks. Hope you don't get sick - with all that's going around town, hard to stay healthy even if you are doing all the right things. Wash your hands alot and get your rest! Ceejay - my other podiatrist in TN was quick to give the cortesone shots although they hurt like mad going in, they did help with the pain. Might you be having tummy issues related to the change in eating with MRC? More fiber or something? Annie - OMG - 4 days straight of a headache???? You poor thing  DH was and is taking a med to help with that - it slows the heart down, guess that relieves some of the pressure NADOLOL or something like that. It really did help with the headaches. I'd say if no pain reliever is helping you, perhaps time to find something else although there seems to be no sure fire cure for headaches. Everyone has a different opinion and most stuff doesn't work for everyone. Sure do hope you feel better. Get a warm cup of coffee and put it by your temples. Michelle - I had to sort of smile at your no more than 40 hours per week. Sure would be great if they mean it and live it. When I was working for the census bureau we couldn't do more than 40 hours a week either but that's because they held so tight to a budget and all OT had to be approved by Congress it seems. Of course like most jobs, you can't get your work done in only 40 hours so most of us "donated" the extra time just because we were dedicated to getting the job done. I certainly hope that's not the case at your place and they do respect the work life boundary. I was thinking of you sitting in traffic in the snow - guess if you go to northern CA you will be sitting in traffic too - but at least you can roll the windows down and enjoy the fresh... um wait - exhaust on the highway. Oops. No fun to sit in traffic. How cool would it be to have a houseboat like in Sleepless in Seattle and commute by boat to work? Hope you are feeling better with the sniffles. Mel - ooh yum Outback Steakhouse. Hope they had a great meal. And you have sparkly snow now? Enjoy it before it gets trampled down. Maybe some of your sinus issues will ease up too. You have bursitis in BOTH hips? I had it once in one and it was awful. Was my favorite sleeping side too and I had to rearrange alot of how I did things. But both hips have got to be awful. You need the maragarita cart for sure! :hat: I'll bring the fixings, just save me some of that crusted pork roast of Ritchies. Oh you have me drooling thinking about that. Yum!!!!! Shad - I have to admit your FB post of SAP terms had my eyes glazing over. :dizzy: I think that's part of the problem - like learning another language. One I DID'T want to learn. I'm sure it's second nature to you. Hello to the rest of the ladies. I wonder where the day went and it was another day of spending too much time on the computer although my cousin came over with a DVD of long time ago home movies of the family. So we had a nice visit. DH is out clearing snow and I need to get the chicken cacciatorri on the stove so it's got plenty of time to roast nicely. And there's still those piles of papers that seem to take forever to go through... Guess I'd better get busy. Have a good one all. |
Evening all,
Had a terrible night last night. My tummy must have gone out in sympathy with CeeJays. I actually wanted to die. But thens have settled today and I have eaten very lightly. Hopefully all will be okay tonight. A good nights sleep might restore the humour. Haven't heard anything back from the two places I put my cv in recently. The recruiter felt that we should hear something by Friday or Monday regarding an interview for the first one. The second is in government, so will take a little longer. I'm not sure I want either - the first because it is one of the big miners - long hours expected, results driven, family unfriendly and in the middle of absolutely nowhere in the backblocks of South Australia or the backblocks of Western Australia. The second will have long delays, frustrating times for decisions but sounds much more interesting, is in Brisbane and is much more family orientated. What happens next is whatever happens next. Happy - sorry I made your eyes glaze. I would have thought that Goods Receipt, Purchase Order and Cheque runs were fairly normal terms. SES brings tears to the eyes of even the most hardened miners so I guess that's the one that got you. Glad to hear that DH is taking positive steps to heal himself. Hope everything comes out as it should. Take care of those feet, they have to support you for some years yet. Laura - fingers and everything else crossed that you don't get sick. It's not a good time to fight colds and flu Annie - unfortunately when you are blonde and beautiful, the male of the species (in particular) appear to think you don't have a brain to match. Unfortunately for most of them, we are able to disprove the theory. Michelle - 40 hours a week!!!:faint: half your luck Mel - well if the vultures pick my carcass clean, I won't have to worry about my weight too much will I. I will them probably be complaining about the size of my bones. Pity Jen's birthday only lasts two days. Kylie and Duane (nephew and niece in law) would be horrified. They get upset when I only use one day for my birthday. But then as I said, it is a public holiday and we can do anything for a whole day. Finally solved the other two mysteries with help from some of the more amiable consultants around the place. Did a few other support jobs and bummed around for part of the day. Boring. But then again as I jokingly said, at least I have learned something during this job - that I can look at the projects module and occasionally I can even fix things. Not that projects was ever high on the radar. But learning is learning and I can take my skills elsewhere. And I guess that's about it from me. Going home for the coming weekend. Hope it doesn't cause another storm and further power cuts. But it will be nice. Big brother rung tonight with test results. He does not have colon cancer. He had 15 polyps removed and these will be tested for cancer tendencies. Good news. Better get onto little sister tomorrow to tell her the news as well. Big brother will not keep the family informed. To bed with book. Maybe a cup of tea and then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz until the dreaded alarm goes off tomorrow morning. The sun has taken to getting up later as well. The season is on the turn. Only two of them up here - hot and wet and humid or bloody hot and dry. See ya |

I'm in a Catch-22....I like to listen to audio books as I'm falling asleep, but lately I've been listening to "Catching Fire" (the 2nd book in The Hunger Games trilogy), and I get so engrossed I can't fall asleep! At least last night I slept better than the previous night.
And now a friend is recommending I read "50 Shades...". So I'm asking....is that a book I should listen to as an audio book as I fall asleep...or will it prevent me from sleeping? Sorry for no personals right now. Big Happy Birthday to Happy's DH! :bday2: Much love to all, |
