BP was a bit better but nothing to brag about...170/80 bottom number is remarkable...top number sucks. I am at my wits end with this. And I am thirsty all the time...what now....Diabetes??? Jesus....I am over all of this, please correct my issues.

The move was ok. Only a few snafus, all should be corrected by end of next week. Thank God...This Shell answer woman is ready to stab someone in the eye.

I am truly exhausted, think it is the meds. Never been this tired and sleepless. Not a good combination. Blah.

Not doing personals as I have no strength left and lots on my plate tomorrow. Lord I don't know if I want the weekends to come or not. Seems there is no rest for the wicked!...

Love you all....

Shad 02-23-2013 05:39 AM

Evening all,
Mel, I will try for tomorrow morning to ring. I forgot to wake up in time this morning.

Back tomorrow when I have weeded the vege garden - which is popping up with rogue tomato plants. Better put some mulch on it as well.

MELODY525 02-23-2013 06:39 AM

shad....just incase no one answers....you'll know what happened..............

last night someone got stuck in the elevator. then we had another flood by the electrical room. then a rooftop fan went. stunk up the bldg with smoke. all the repair men are coming today and the other elevator is acting up now. what a mess we have. one man is due soon for the rooftop fiasco. he just called from the turnpike. i will try to be home when you call. even my boss is shocked so much is going wrong.
i'll catch up with you guys later. or tomorrow.

ceejay52 02-23-2013 08:38 AM

Mel
No wonder you are up and at em this morning. Hope things get resolved soon.

Annie
Hugs, It's time you slow down some. When I'm stressed my bp will run around that at 160/80. I know the bp med that I take has to be taken at night if not I'm exhausted all day long.

------------------

Working today but that's okay. Let's pray it's quiet. At least there is no storms to deal with.

happy2bme 02-23-2013 12:31 PM

Morning kids,

Had a couple of early phone calls yesterday and never got here. We got about 7 inches of light fluffy snow yesterday. DH got to use the new snowblower. Worked great. Planning on staying at home today - today is the big cross country ski race. 13,000 participants and 15,000 expected spectators. Alot of people for our little towns of 2,000 people. The race stretches between 2 towns so it will affect a wide area. I told DH it's not worth getting stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, particularly since it affects a wide area. Tomorrow we will go and pick up the green/hot house we bought and look for shelving to go inside it. Not much else going on.

Mel - hope you make it through the day - Monday is the full moon - not sure why everything is crashing in the building today. Sounds like a fiasco. Sorry to hear of the maintenance man's health issues :(

Shad - are you doing better? Rougue tomatoes - would that be good? Like free seedlings. I'm wondering if I will get some pop up grape tomatoe plants from last year's planting. My sister had some heirloom cherry tomatoes that were just divine.

Annie - very worried about you with this blood pressure. You NEED to let some of this stuff go that is swirling around in your life and your head. Stress too will up the blood sugar and as you say you don't need diabetes on top of everything else that's going on. The less meds you take, the better for you. Please take some time to relax - perhaps you should just do nothing more in April than sit on the beach and relax. Put the wedding off until later when there is less going on.

Laura - yay on the bonus. Must have been a nice one. Any particular plans for the money?

Michelle - so you have 3 bedrooms in your place. Sounds like you have a nice place right now. Good luck rearranging everything - hope the roomie arrangement works out.

Ceejay - hope you didn't get much ice. You've got me longing to hear a good thunderstorm.

Hello to the rest of the chicks

Gotta go look for some shelving ideas. Have a good weekend all.

ceejay52 02-23-2013 03:02 PM

Got a call from sis in Missouri to tell me that my nephew and his live in are planning a wedding in Florida this summer. I really want to go but I'll have to fly and that's not one of my favorite things to do. If I do go I want to go see the Atlantic ocean while there too. She said that could be arranged. She's going to rent a condo for the family.

Happy
Wow 7 inches of snow. Don't blame you for not wanting to get out among all the "sea of people". Glad to hear the dh got to use his new toy--the snow blower.

Shad 02-23-2013 03:56 PM

Morning all,
When I saw Mel's post this morning and she didn't answer the phone, I figured I would take my coffee out on the patio and plan out the days exercise. Worked for all of ten minutes and down came the rain. Grrrrr. Yesterday was brilliant and I figured that it was to hot to go outside, early tomorrow would be better. Yeah right. Damn just went to look up the weather forecast - showers, possible storm. Heavy rain tomorrow. Haven't we had enough already??If this is a shower, then I don't want you to give me any heavy rain puhleeeeeeeze. And if this is a shower, then the following showers are getting closer together. Damn and blast.

Rogue tomatoes are those that just sort of appear. Self sown, I suspect these will be some of grape tomatoes that we had such an abundance of last year. Dont mind as long as they do as well as their forebears did.

Last night I went out to dinner with some friends to an Indian restaurant. It was very nice although there wasn't too many vegetables to be seen. Mostly rice and meat in rich gravies. Cheap and cheerful.
DS2 and girlfriend were off doing the busy stuff that they always seem to be caught up in these days, so I don't expect to see much of them. They did pop around to pick up some tools.

I had a long hard think about the mistake I made and decided that it isn't the end of the world, just a delay in plans. I just need to step back and get the I don't give a damn attitude. Who cares - or should I say that the care factor should be less than zero.

I'm not going to go back and check out the personals from before I went off in a hissy fit, just a few that come to mind, that stood out for one reason or another.

Michelle - hope it all works out with the roomie. It's good that you have friends from home dropping in. Keeps the blues at bay, and I should think that it will also allow you to slowly get the hang of living alone. I think the biggest difficulty may well be the 'there was two of us doing the things around the place and now there is only me' syndrome that we all seem to suffer from when living conditions change.

Annie - could well be the BP meds that are causing the thirst. Some contain diuretics, so you get rid of the excess fluid in the system. Check it out before you start worrying about diabetes etc. Could also be that the different meds are fighting each other and the fluid is causing you to wake at night to go to the you know where.

Mel - will keep an eye on the clock and try again later. Otherwise it will be in another fortnights time.

Happy - hope the shoes are helping the tootsies. I'm finding that running around my apartment in Darwin in bare feet is starting to give me foot cramps. Seems that the air con is cooling down the tiles (no carpet up there) and so I have upped the temps a couple of degrees. Some people find it too warm in my place, but it's okay for me so why should I turn it down. Somedays I even turn it off and live with the fresh air from the open doors. Not that Darwin has much fresh air - always sultry, always humid and often wet.

And that's about my lot. The sky is brightening, the rain has stopped, I might venture back outside - after I have covered myself in mossie deterrent.

MELODY525 02-24-2013 08:58 AM

Good Morning .
Today I am just going to rest if nothing else goes wrong.
Yesterday was full steam ahead.
Then my friend with the cancer showed up and was so distraught.
We sat downstairs in the office talking for hours.
They're sending him for another bone scan. He's lost about 30 lbs already.
I barely knew what to say to him. Jen & Richie came down to see what was going on. We called his family to let them know he was still with us. Then we all chatted till well after dinner time We could see he wasn't leaving any time soon. Neither was he plumber. So the kids ordered a pizza. iT WAS A Very sad night.
I will come back for personals in a few.
Right now I am off to think about breakfast. Happy Sunday.

Shad....You missed Saturday and I missed Sunday(your time) Sorry we couldn't make the hook up. Let me know when you're home again

happy2bme 02-24-2013 10:25 AM

Morning all,

Quick post for me, I should have gotten up earlier and didn't. Lots to get done today.

Mel - even if you didn't know exactly what to say, sounds like you said the right things for your friend. Sometimes it's not what we say, not who we are but just being a soft shoulder and knowing someone cares is all we need  - glad you were there for him. 30 pounds is a huge scary loss. Means it's not something to be taken lightly and that can put a dent in your own resolve. I hope he will be well.

Shad - how odd that it would be rice and meat at the Indian restaurant - would think they would be heavy on the cheap filler veggies instead of the protein. Bummer that it went and rained on you the day you planned to work outside. Weather can be like that - I wouldn't mind the warmer indoor temps as long as there was a fan to move the air but would not be a fan of heat AND the humidity. Hopefully you were able to stave off the mossies.

Ceejay - you should see both oceans in your lifetime. They are a bit different. Can't say I've swam in either - generally too chilly - but I have waded in up to my knees just to say I did. I suppose driving to Florida from your place would indeed be a 2 day trip just for travelling - not the best. Can you fly out with someone just to take an edge off the anxiety?

Not much else going on and it looks like many of you are sleeping in this morning which is ok because several of you can use a good rest. My coffee cup is near empty and I need to get on with plans for the day. Have a restful Sunday...

Laura705 02-24-2013 11:25 AM

Morning all.

Ceejay - Good for you getting the exercise. :carrot: At least someone is! :D I say definitely try to get to Florida. I was in Miami several years ago and spent one of my mornings at the beach - the water was pleasantly warm, such a surprise. Enjoy your Sunday off!

Happy - Plenty of snow to keep all the visitors happy. Nice to have a reason to stay at home. I wouldn't want to be out with the hordes either. ;) No particular plans for the bonus money, however, the furnace has been making a noise for a while (even before it went out last month) that's been driving me crazy. We know that'll =$$. I believe we were told it's coming from the pump that the condensation from...the humidifier or maybe the furnace itself? Anyway, it runs more frequently and/or louder. It might be about to go?? Who knows. Also the clear tubing that carries the moisture to our laundry sink is no longer clear, so I wonder if the tubing should be replaced. Anyway, probably have to put some money towards the furnace. How fun!

Mel - I've got the meditation link e-mailed to myself, I'll see if I can use it on my iphone on the train. Don't know if it's audio, video, what. Sounds like you needed the meditation after all the chaos in the building. I'm so sorry for your friend. Best thing you did is to just be there for him and listen.

Annie - Glad the move went okay. I'm worried about you with the bp so high and the lack of sleep. I sure hope you got some sleep and took some time to relax this weekend. Somthing's gotta give - don't let it be your health!!!

Shad - Hope you got out to work in the garden at some point yesterday. And you're back in Darwin now? I totally understand preferring "fresh" air to the bone-chilling AC'd air, even if the real stuff is very warm and overly moist.

Hellos to the rest of the gang!
==

We were up early and had a breakfast out this morning. This'll have to be the last one for a long while, at least the salty/greasy kind. I registered for WW@work on Friday and the first meeting is on Tuesday. (I guess that's where some of my bonus money is going.)

Friday was not only bonus day, but I also won some guest passes to the Shedd Aquarium in a work raffle. :) (My employer is a contributor, so we get stuff like this every once in a while, and they raffle it off.)

My former co-worker e-mailed me Friday afternoon to cancel the breakfast we'd planned for yesterday, which was fine by me. I puttered around the house and put together 4 bags of donations. I watched the extra content on the Downton Series 3 dvd, nothing too interesting. Finally left the house to drop off the donations and return the dvd to the library. At Goodwill, I bought some more flatware to use at work - sick of using the plastic stuff. Six pieces @ 10 cents each, such a deal. :D

Later on we had a late lunch and then went grocery shopping. All kinds of heavy items. Pushing the cart was a workout - 30 lbs of dog kibble, two 12-paks of soda, one of beer, a gallon of milk...and some groceries.

Didn't do much of anything last night. No dinner, just 6 Oreos, so I guess that's why I woke up thinking breakfast out was a good idea.

Nothing going on today except the Oscars party starting at 6 pm. I'm bringing hummus & pita chips that I bought yesterday.

Okay, off to read the papers and have a bit more tea.

ceejay52 02-24-2013 06:56 PM

Mel
What a good friend you are! Sometimes all we can do is listen and you did just that. Glad things have settled down
------------
I was up at 7 but had a trip to Paragould planned for the day. Went to church with my uncles. Now I'm back home. I did go shopping at Belks and Walgreens.

Laura
It's always good to have a day to do what ever. To bad the co-worker cancelled breakfast.

Happy and Shad----- Have a good day.

Sorry I've been away. Trying to spend time with my friend over the weekend since I wasn't able to take any time off work. But with my ex being in CA loading up a truck with DMIL's stuff, his gf's stuff, and his gf and her two pugs, I've been spending a lot of time going over to the house to check on ex-DMIL. Then ex's dog Doppler who we've had for 12 years and who is diabetic had some seriously low blood sugar and had a seizure on Wednesday night while the ex was still in town. My ex thought everything was squared away, but then Friday night, Doppler had 4 more episodes. I drove Doppler and my ex-DMIL to the vet. Sure enough, his blood sugar was dangerously low. Seems doppler's eye doctor stopped a steroid eye drop, which caused his blood sugar to be much lower not requiring as much insulin and since he kept getting the same level of insulin...it was too much. The vet dropped his insulin dosage, and told ex-DMIL to make sure he eats A LOT. Poor puppy. He hasn't had any seizures since Saturday afternoon, but he's still a bit wobbly on his feet, which I'm hoping might be from a pulled muscle during a seizure.

I took Santa to the dog park yesterday and today...so he's had quite a fun weekend. I also took him to a small dog play date at a doggie day care in downtown Milwaukee. It was supposed to be for dogs up to 25 lbs, but I don't think there was a dog over 10 lbs (other than Santa - he weighs 20 lbs). Santa was trying to play with the small dogs, but they were scared of him. So we left early. Next time, I'll take him to the play date for medium dogs (20-50 lbs).

I'll try and catch up on personals later. Now, I'm going to try and sleep although I think the neighbors upstairs are having a party. :faint:

Much love and many hugs,
