Not much has happened last night except for the unexpected male visitor. That makes me feel awkward. I'm not wanting a relationship with him.
Been there done that. I think he wants me to come back to work at the packaging plant where I worked before. I can't do that. I will not do that.
He said that the turn over there is unreal.

(There's no morning sickness involved is there??!! ) Poor C, I sure hope he's feeling better soon. It must be hard to recover when he works such long days. And you know it was brought on by too much partying at the wedding, LOL!! God bless you for nursing him through it!

Happy - Sorry you got dragged into work for much longer than you expected. That's really pretty crummy to take advantage of you that way - three hours!!! Ridiculous. You're right, the time was more important than the $$. You might think - in advance - of responses (and practice them!!) so when these requests come up you've got something ready. Don't forget the apologetic part - "Oh, I'm sooo sorry I can't do it that day, I already have plans." "Sorry, I can only stay until x o'clock, I'm meeting my cousin." Bf just hates when people (solicitors) come to the door - he likes to avoid them. I hate that too, but I don't have much of a problem just shaking my head (because I really can't be heard over the dog's barking anyway) and trying to control the dog. And on the phone it's even easier for me - I just say "I don't do business over the phone, do you have something you could send me in the mail? Good luck with that!

I saw the trailer for Guilt Trip - looks funny. Unless it gets really horrible reviews, I'd go see it. The watercolor pencils sound fun - not as difficult as traditional watercolor painting, which I understand is pretty hard to do. Have fun with that! I like the side by side shakes at S &S too - banana and choc or strawberry & choc. Wow, orange sounds fantastic! Right up my alley - one of my favorite holiday treats are those chocolate "balls" that are segmented like oranges - with the orange flavor. Yum! I'll have to make a point of finding the Terry's brand, because I tried the copycat one by the Ferrara company, but they're not nearly as tasty. Okay, I better stop before I get or or for the food porn.

Ceejay - Great job on the exercise! Keep it up! Enjoy the rest of your vacation. No pestering from the co-worker allowed, right??

Nothing much to report. I'm on my own today. The boss is STILL out of the office, family illness. In fact the other two dept members are also out tending to family medical issues. At least it's quiet.

Didn't do much of anything last night, but I finally did sort through my pile on the end table - catalogs, mail, etc. Much tidier, ahhh. My new sneakers arrived yesterday and I wore them around the house for a couple hours. Not much of a test since a lot of that was spent on the sofa, lol. Tonight I will either go to the gym or go to an exercise class, and so I will wear them indoors only to test them out "in motion".

I'm trying to think of the right response to a party invitation I received right after book club last Saturday from a book club member that I like a lot. It's for this Saturday. Even though we have no plans for Saturday night, my antisocial tendencies and/or social phobias just make me want to decline. Bf will do whatever I want to do...I'm sure we'd probably enjoy it....though it would be the third time I'm seeing these movie/book group people this week...I think I'll convince Bf to go to a movie with me instead. I wish I had other plans. People with kids always have good excuses at hand to use as needed, or excuses to show up late, making a brief appearance. It's an e-vite, so I think I'll just reply "no, thanks for the invite" and leave it at that.

For my vacation day tomorrow, I'd like to go to the Omnimax theater at the science museum and use my free tickets (won in a raffle at work), and then to see some of the museum exhibits - it's been so long!! If not, maybe a workout/class, a thrift store visit, outdoor decorating, and just some slothing about. Oh, and a dog walk.

I forgot to mention I walked over to the Art Institute for another gallery walk the other day at lunchtime. It was about Christmas in art, and it was really interesting. The focus was on the Nativity scene in art, and it was really interesting. I just love learning about the symbolism and history surrounding these artworks.

Okay, waaaay too much rambling. I have to get back to work.

THE 3 BOARDS OF COMMISSIONERS HAD OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE MEETINGS TODAY. I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. EVERYONE WAS HAPPY AND SMILING FOR A CHANGE. WE HAD A TON OF LAUGHS. IT WAS LIKE OLD TIMES WITH THE "BIG" GUYS. THEY EVEN SAID IT WAS GOOD TO BE TOGETHER AGAIN. I DON'T SOCIALIZE WITH THEM AT ALL THE POLITIAL PARTIES ANYMORE FOR YEARS NOW. SO IT WAS NICE TO BE WITH THEM AGAIN. I ALMOST FORGOT WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE FLIRTED WITH.

THE TRIP TO TRADER'S WAS EVEN BETTER THAN EXPECTED. I CASHED MY EXTRA CHECK AND WE WENT WILD. JEN AND I LAUGHED THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. IT WAS GREAT FUN TO FIND NEW FOOD ITEMS AND DECIDE HOW WE WOULD USE THEM. JEN BOUGHT STUFF I NEVER THOUGHT SHE WOULD. RICHIE THOUGHT WE WERE NUTS WHEN HE GOT HOME. BUT HE LIKED ALL THE STUFF WE GOT. IT'S GOING TO BE A VERY MERRY CHRISMAS OVER HERE. I CANNOT WAIT.

I SEE ALL YOUR POSTS AND WILL READ THEM TOMORROW AFTER WORK. IT'S BEEN A LONG DAY, I'M TIRED AND I HAVE TO GO DOWN EARLY. WE LOST ANOTHER TENANT AND THERE IS SO MUCH STUFF YET TO BE DONE. IT'S JUST A CRYING SHAME MY BOSS CANNOT GET CO-OPERATION INSTEAD OF PEOPLE SAYING "IT'S NOT IN MY JOB DESCRIPTION". VERY SAD. Good Morning and TGIF....

Sis called me at 7 last night crying that she, Chris and the babe were in Carmel (an extension of Indy actually on the North side) and her radiator had blown. Thank God I belong to AAA so got the first 3 miles of tow free then it was 4 bucks a mile after that. Ended up costing 44 bucks for the tow, which is still cheaper than just calling a tow truck. Had it towed to Chris's work for their mechanic to look at it. Will be a lot easier on the wallet if he looks at it and fixes it. I think it was just a hose and not the actual radiator. Plus coolant. Praying for the less expensive fix. I paid for the tow and will pay for the repair...Merry Christmas to them, that is all they are getting. Got home at 10, finished the laundry and was in bed by midnight, actually slept all night, well till 3 when C got up, then it was hit or miss til I got up at 5. Somehow that was a successful night's sleep for me.

MELLIE...the Christmas party sounded like you had lots of fun and shopping at TJs was even better with the extra check...You and Jen sound like Sam and I when we get together. My nephew called and asked if he could bring a deep fried turkey Christmas eve...well like YES! So I will make my homemade noodles for chicken and noodles. SIL is bringing mashed potatos. I will probably have a couple of sides and a dessert. YUMMY

LAURA...I guess I am sucked into seeing the Hobbit when it comes out on the 14th. My brother is a hugs fan of that type of movie as is Curtis. I can sit through it but not really my cup of tea. Would rather see Guilt Trip with you.

HAPPY CHANUKAH BEGINS TOMORROW. I HAD A FRIEND AND THEY USED TO INVITE ME INTO THEIR HOME AT THIS TIME OF YEAR. I LOVED THEIR CELEBRATIONS.


NOTHING NEW SINCE LAST NIGHT EXCEPT I WAS SO WOUND UP IT WAS NEAR 1 O'CLOCK BY THE TIME I FELL ASLEEP. WILL BE DRAGGING MY BUTT TODAY. BUT ON A GOOD NOTE...I CALLED SOME TENANTS ALREADY(THEY ARE EARLY RISERS) AND THEY AGREED IT'S TOO COLD TO BE DOWNSTAIRS. IT WAS 20 AGAIN LAST NIGHT. I AM NOT WARMED UP YET SINCE YESTERDAY

Annie~ Hope little Sassy does Ok and gets well soon. When I got neutered, it was PAINFUL!! So give her a big hug from me too....but gently This TJ's has samples and coffee every day. They have a woman in the back just for that purpose. Some prices are a bit high but I love the already cooked stuff.
Sending get well wishes to poor C and his cold Jen will be jealous of your brushetta chicken!!! roflmao You really started something over here. She bought a packet and not only made the chicken but saved some spices for a small rub and sprinkled it on a salad. Christmas dinner sounds like it going to be delicious. I'll leave now so I get there in time

And tell the DH we're all wise to his tricks about decorations!! Ceejay~ let us know how the Rival oven works. I like that company. I've had many gadgets from them and they lasted years and performed well. We had an electrick skillet that must have been 25 yrs old before I got rid of it and it was STILL working. Enjoy. Hope you have a good few days before work begins

Good morning ladies,

My back and foot are really hurting me today. And I am on the long shift tonight. Better gulp down some aspirin. We're supposed to get a snow storm late tomorrow night into Sunday morning. They are talking about 6 inches of snow. That will be messy. Glad we have 4 wheel drive. I was going to have eggs for breakfast / early lunch but I just checked the refrigerator and we only have one egg left. I have lots of carby types of food but the eggs seem to hold me satisfied the best. Will have to have DH pick up a carton at the convienience store when he drops me off today.

Happy Chanukah to you Miss Mellie. Hope someone drops off a nice piece of challah bread to enjoy with your morning coffee. Maybe it will be fresh baked and you can have something to warm you up over there. A soup would be a nice touch too. How nice that you had a little bit extra to binge shop at TJ's. I hope you got some yummy stuff - nice to try something different once in a while. Maybe TJs has some recipes with their samples. We had a Fresh Market in TN and I loved when they would do their holiday sampling day. Such gooood stuff they had. Ok, Happy - calm down

Annie - that's so sad for Sissy. Why is it that when you don't have enough money to go around, things are always happening to suck every dime out of the wallet? That is very good of you to help them out. At least you know they will use the present and I'm sure the little guy will find a toy or two in his stocking. I had to re-read your post. Less than 5 hours of shut eye and that was a good night's sleep? I feel for you sister. Yum on the deep fried turkey - what an unexpected treat. Sounds like good eating for Christmas. Set a few extra places for us, ok? I'll bring anything I can whip up in 2 hours or less

Laura - thanks for the honey video. Very interesting. I guess I will have to eat more honey and also pay attention to how it tastes. I do know from DH's reaction that the cheap stuff in the store takes like bee poo poo I can understand the dilema about should I go out with these people or not? Sometimes I say yes, regret it when I'm getting ready and then it seems the more I dread it, the better a time I have. Then when I am anticipating something, it's never as good as I hoped and I vow now to go again. Follow your instincts - usually the best guide. And if she's sending out and e-invite - sometimes I find those are for large open house type gatherings - you go and the host is busy hosting and there's a bunch of strangers you don't know who won't talk to you Speaking of open houses, DH has not mentioned ours again which is good. I simply don't have time for it this year. And yes, orange flavored chocolate is the best. Shad has a delicacy from her side of town made by the Cadbury people. Can't talk about chocolate orange without a nod to Jaffas. Your ventures to the Museum of Science and Industry and the Art Museum sound like wonderfully different ways to enjoy the holiday celebrations. I agree - learning about some of this stuff is very interesting. Give us a review / teach us something new, ok?

Ceejay - a male suitor, eh? Being naturally suspicious as I am I would immediately be suspect if he's just trying to lure you to the other job to collect a finders fee for himself. My first response would be that when a place has high turnover, there's usually a good reason for it. And with all the time and seniority you have at the plant, why give that up unless they were cutting your job? I'm sure your momma didn't raise no dummy Hit the road buster.

Well Shaddie - hope you are home safe and sound, enjoying the comforts of your own place. I agree, tough call on the job - I'm wondering if your reference to money for jam is what we call pin money on this side of the pond - like I get - a few extra dollars to sock away or fritter on things like watercolor pencils and paper but not enough to make a serious dent in the retirement fund. Always a tough choice to make - especially when this particular contract had more than it's share of frustrations. Guess you have some time to think about it.

My package of paper and pencils came. One had a mini booklet that sort of explained how to use this (a better course is on it's way to being delivered). Looks very interesting. DH asked if I was going to clean out my hobby room so I can turn it into a studio. Right now it's filled with stuff from the move to be staged and sorted into sell/donate/keep. That's for a snowy January project I think but can't wait to get started. And oh, I need to buy a chair for down there too.

Guess I'd better find something to eat to sustain me for the day. I have to admit I much prefer the early shift - I nibble on something light and then have my big meal at supper. Too late to eat when I get home tonight other than perhaps some crackers, cheese and grapes so I'll have to find something to tide me over without being too heavy. Have a good end of week chicks.

OMG Happy...I just FINALLY got it. After all these years of posting...what the heck, "I see your egg light on" means. I thought there was some kind of secret code going on when you all posted that. ROTFLMAO lol lol lol.... Now I can watch and see who is out there when I am....I am so cracked up right now. Let's see dinner tonight will be chicken salad made with leftover rotisserie chicken. I stopped on the way to work and picked up some grapes, pecans and eggs (got a carton for you too Happy), I have celery, onion, spices at home. Going to fix fried (butter Pam spray) potatos out of the two leftover baked potatos from last night. Last night was baked pork chops monterey, baked tates, and greenbeans. If you really get into your drawing and whatnot, I like butterflies, holly and animals. hint hint.

Oh Sissy didn't want Sassy the other day as she had been up all night with Ainsley puking. She spent yesterday sterilizing her house of germs. Then the car ordeal last night...poor kids.

MELLIE...that is why I like going to Costco on Friday's at lunch. By the time I get out of there I am stuffed to the gill.

My day started off a bit on the boring side but my friend called and wanted me to go to Blytheville with her. We went to Lowes and to Super Walmart.
Rode the bike again last night for 30 minutes then did 15 minutes of Pilates. I thought I'd be sore but am not.

G'DAY CHICKLETTES!

It seems like the rain gods of the heavens are upon us again.
All this wet weather is beginning to get a bit much here.
Now that we have our decorations & food supplies, it can snow like a banshee for all I care
Jen was down in the afternoon.
We decorated 2 small 15" wreaths and hung them.
One for each of us. I bought real wreaths this year.
They just add the faint smell of balsam to the apt.
We're waiting to see if they kill the sinuses
Both of us were weak all day yesterday.
This is weather related and not a coincidence.
Our bodies are so filled with fluid we could barely move.
We could hardly move our arms and she could barely walk.
We were laughing while trying to do things.
Was just so ridiculous watching each other.
It took the 2 of us to lift this small wreath
Had anyone seen us they would have been like WTF is going on?
Thank God we got the job done and I walked Jen to the elevator.
She needed the shopping cart to take hers home!!
I think maybe we shouldn't do anything till Winter comes back again.
Other than that....nothing is new.

was gonna post but I'm having the problem with things "sticking" on the ads. Can't clear it and I have to get ready for work in 20 minutes so no time to fuss with this site.
