Hi,

Friday is weigh-in day for me and instead of being 133 I am down to 130 now...vacation really made me pile up the pounds. I am still three pounds heavier than when I left and now I am behind in my ultimate goal which was to be around 122 by now...well, my eating is still not as good as before but I am walking more and doing lawn work so hopefully some of the calories will burn off!

Miki, I sent the photos today so you should get them by early next week.

Cyan, sounds like you will be very busy! I am sure you will show a loss soon!

Lady, please post soon!

Reina, hope you feel better!

Deana, hope all is well...how are the new children adjusting?

Default Well, it's the weekend

Well, I am at 189lbs. On Monday I was at 191lbs, so at least I didn't gain. Then again, I was this weight on Wed. I bet most of it is fluids. This somersizing thing is kinda hard. I don't think I will ever find something that I can really stick with. Her and Atkins are simliar in low to no carbs, though she allows more fruit I understand. Just somethings are so hard to find here and get here. though, I was waking up with cramps in my legs. someone another board said they had that too but went back to eating one banana a day and felt better. I did that yesterday and felt better last night.
I am going to try to get on our stepper at least 10min at day, at least that's starting. Not much, but better than nothing right? I am going to stick with my version of somersizing, basically watching my carbs and sugar (I haven't had any sugar except from fruit) that I know of this week. Carbs have been low to, just oatmeal in the morning.

Well, the new girls are ok. The older one hasn't spoken a nice word to her sister since they've been here. We have had to control the little one and her calling names. Everything that comes out of her mouth is negative. We are restrictive on music, tv time, books and such here at our house. This new girl has brought some questionable books in. I don't know if I should box them until she leaves next week or what. I told our other fosterdaughter not to let things influence her (she is a follower bigtime). I think I could handle the little one, or the bigger one, but them together is harder. They leave next week sometime. The little one has no sense of security at all, and big sister doesn't help.

Ok, sorry I haven't written personal messages recently. Seems like as soon as I get on, I need to get off. Got lots to do today as tomorrow we have a children'd Sunday school outting.

Bye for now.

Hi Everyone!
I haven't been doing too great lately. Once I break the good eating habit and go back to old ways it's awfull hard to get back into a diet frame of mind. I'm up to 140 from 137. Today I was careful what I ate and enlisted Bryan's help in not eating after 8. It helps me to know he's watching what I eat and I'm not fooling anyone by cheating. Anyway, it's now 10:30 and I haven't eaten since 8, so today was good. I never stopped running, but I don't lose unless I exercise AND diet, so hopefully I will start to lose again soon. I DO NOT want to gain back those 27lbs!

Cyan - you are truly an inspiration! You just keep doing what's right even if you don't see results. With all your exercise and low fat eating, you have got to be healthier than you were; that's something, right?

Deb - congrats on your steady weight loss. All those single pounds add up in a hurry.

Taiwan - Congrats on your loss too! I just can't imagine wanting to take in troubled kids. You are incredible!

Reina - hope you're feeling better soon.

Miki - How are you doing with that cereal?

Lisa - How are you and how's school?

Well, I'm headed up to bed. Tomorrow is Monday and a whole new week - let's make it a good one!

How is everyone doing today?

Well, I think I am doing okay for now. I started going to the weekly WW meetings again, I noticed that I wasn't losing once I stopped attending the meetings. So I went back and now I go on Saturday mornings, so I go work out after the meeting on Saturdays. Nice to get away early saturday morning without Alex or Flav!

I am giving myself a goal of staying OP all week with my points, if I do bad, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE a new dress for my cousin's wedding at the end of May. So I better shape up!

Lady, nice to see Bryan is helping you stay committed after 8pm. Flav tries all the time to help me out, he is the one that brought it to my attention that I wasn't losing after I left the WW meetings.
Keep up the good work!

Debee, Congrats on the loss, girl keep it up, all the vacation gain will be gone in no time! I am so looking forward to my vacation in June, but not looking forward to checking the scale when I come back! But there is a workout facilty in both hotels so I promised to work out some of the days that I am there.

Taiwan, You are such a strong woman to work with such children that need the guidence and support that you can provide temporarily to them. Sounds like you keep retaining water to make that scale move back and forth! Hope it gets better for you. Let me know about the carb and sugar diet is working for you.

Cyan, I hope you are feeling better tomorrow, sounds like you were coming down with the FLU!

Miki, how was your nice day off, I can't wait for one without Flav and Alex, I so need a day!

Lisa,
I hope you are doing well, And i hope everything is going great with school!!

Ok, ladies, I better get back to work, you all have a great day, and talk to you later!

Hi Everyone!
Not eating after eight last night paid off - I was down 2 lbs this morning! I also retain water, so I drank a lot yesterday and that probably flushed out my system and contributed to the loss. I've been drinking all day today and I plan on not eating after eight again tonight. Today's eating was ok, but not great. We ate lunch out and that's always tough. I had 2pc toast and hot chocolate for breakfast, a tuna sandwich and an ice cream cone for lunch and chicken in salsa over rice, 2 corn muffins and a salad for dinner. The tuna sandwich was from a deli, so I'm guessing my total calories are about 1300.

Reina - I'm glad to hear you're back into WW. It was really working for you. And working out after meetings when you'll be motivated is a great idea.

Have a great evening everyone!

Hi ladies! Feels like I havent been here in forever altho it's just been a couple of days I think. I'm still walking everyday..anywhere from 2.5 to 5 miles with my sis. We walked 3 miles this morning before work even. My losing has really slowed down tho. I'm really thinking maybe my calories have been a little low for too long. I usually stay around 1300 or so and havent missed a day of walking in probably 3 weeks but the scale Fri showed a gain of half a lb. I decided today to make this week's goal to get back into drinking lots more water and I'm committing to leaving off breads this week but also going to up my calories a little also. I'm kinda in a rut so decided a little variety in my plan might help. I also started a food journal again today. I do think keeping up with everything on paper makes a difference for me. I'll let you know how all my new strategies work out. Oh, I also ordered the Power90 Half Hour workout tapes..anyone ever used or heard of those?? It's a 6 week program. They should be here within 2 weeks. Another of my 'variety' ideas..lol Well, it's getting late and I still have laundry to do.

Have a good week everyone!

Default Hi ladies....

Well, yesterday and today went well. cheated some, but such is life, couldn't help it Though I have been doing good with low carbs. Didn't stick with strict somersizing, to many problems. I know they would just say "your body is detoxifying" or something to that affect. Legs cramps for three days (until I started eating bananas again), then after that MAJOR rash--oh my was it bad and I never brake out in anything!!. Not to mention 3 days of headaches and being oh so tired (was thinking I was pregnant--NOT!!) Plus it seems like they do stuff so you need to buy their products to be able to make anything good (even ATkins is that way). I did atkins before I got married and lost 10lbs, am considering it again, I was in Taiwan then too.
Anyway, Sat./Mon/Tues I spent the min of 10min on the stepper. Mon/Tues I did a little over 1200 steps so I evened out at 170calories burned off. I have started getting my green tea when out and using Equal instead of regular sugar and unfortunately yesterday had a bowl of rice and today had a sandwich with white bread (Luke's fault, he brought the wrong breakfast back). Bought more fruit today, so fruit for breakfast tomorrow.

Miki--you are doing great with walking. Wish I had a walking buddy, though my friend is moving here this week----YEAAHHHH!!

Lady--sounds like you are getting back into things. This is the second night with nothing but water after 8pm. It gets easier, yesterday was awful.

Reina--you'll get that dress. Going back to WW will keep you focused. I so wish they had something like that here. Sounds like Flav is watching out for you too. you''ll do fine this week. I think we all are getting motivated this week.

Cyan--sorry you have hit a long plateau. Have you thought about cutting out carbs/sugar for awhile and not worrying about fat? it works for some people I understand. If you feel it's necessary to test for thryoid, then do it, it will put your mind at ease. Thryoid problems runs in our family, but doesn't start giving problems until around age 45yr and just with the women. You'll show a loss soon. How's your mom doing?

debee--how are you doing? doing your yoga? I think everyone is starting to slowly get motivated. Maybe it's the good weather (well hot here).

Well, SARS has now quarantined hospital 2 up north. Our county has had only one case, but yesterday it was announced that our next county has some cases. Hope it stays away.

Have a great day ladies.

Hi,

I just can not get myself to eat healthy again...today I skipped breakfast, lunch was a wendy's hamburger happy meal, starbucks tao chi (I am addicted to these try it with low-fat milk either hot or iced) snack popcorn and three chocolate cookies, dinner was a hot fudge sundae! Jake's school had an ice cream social and carnival night so I skipped dinner to have the ice cream. I have to get back to eating breakfast and my turkey pita for lunch. It really helped me lose weight because I was not snacking or overeating at dinner. I also have to get back to the yoga...now that the weather is nicer I might try to play tennis with Jimmy my seven year old. My goal is to make it to 125 in two weeks. Right now I am 129/130 so it is only 5 pounds or 2.5 pounds per week. I know I could do it if I just cut out the junk food for two weeks and up the exercise a bit.

Reina where are you going for vacation? I'm glad you are back at the meetings I think support is very helpful when trying to lose weight.

Lady, I know how you feel about the eating...I will challenge you to get back to no eating after 8p.m.> I am also going to cut out nuts butter and chocolate for two weeks and see if that helps.

Cyan, we are all hoping your scale shows some movement this week I 'll keep my fingers crossed!

Taiwan, SARS is so scary but it sounds like Asia is taking it very seriously.

Miki, did you get the pictures yet?

Well, I asm so tired and have to get up early tomorrow for "munchies with mom" at Jimmy's school ...the kids serve moms donuts and coffee. I will try to just have the coffee.

For exercise tomorrow I plan to do some gardening if it is a nice day...I bought lavender, sage, basil, rosemary, and will try to spruce up my herb garden...I love picking fresh herbs during the summer.

I'll try to post on wednesday. Good night.

Hi,

Just a quick note...ate a piece of rye toast with coffee for breakfast..skipped the donuts at Jimmy's school and for lunch I was tempted to go to a drive-thru but instead had a hummus sandwich at home. Tonight for dinner I plan on making a chicken with veggie pasta. Exercise wise I did some gardening today and walked probably two miles in home depot...I hope to show a lose of two pounds by Friday asnd get down to 127 again. Next friday I hope to be at 125...no excuses I am going to do it...tired of going back to my old ways.

Hi Everyone!
Debee, I like your attitude! Congrats on passing up the donuts, and I accept your challenge not to eat after 8. Last night was my 3rd night.Lets see who can go longest, ok? Also, I challenge myself to eat breakfast each morning. I usually don't get around to eating until at least 11 or 12 and I'm sure that adds to the night time munchies. And.... No chocolate for the next week. (I'll see if I can extend it another week if I make it through this one.) The scale jumped back up to 140 after one short day at 138. Ugh!

Cyan, I'm sorry you're still under the weather. It's got to be so hard to rest and take care of yourself when you need to be there for your mom too. You have my empathy and support.

Taiwan, I don't think I like the sound of the Sommersize diet. Anything that makes you feel so bad can't be good for you. What were you doing last fall when you were losing successfully? Meanwhile you're on the right track with the exercise, green tea, fruit and equal, etc. Maybe you can start a walking plan when your friend moves there.

Miki, The food journal sounds like a good plan. I know it helps me and keeps me honest. The walking is great too, and you're right, variety will help you stay op. Keep up the good work!

Have a great day!
