Another interesting sunrise this morning although much more gentle than yesterdays blaze of colour that covered the sky. Last night there was an interesting sunset as well but as I was driving, it was a bit hard to focus the camera, drive down the road full of potholes and dodge the coal trucks all at the same time.

Leaving here shortly for home over the weekend. Coming back on Monday for the last push. Feel a bit sorry for the boys since they will have no onsite support this weekend, but there comes a time that they must look after themselves. They will cope. They always do.

So far this morning, two of them have been locked out of their SAP - mostly by them and there is one bloke who is really good and who will look out for them over the weekend. I hope to see them on Monday afternoon when I get back and find all the problems and tricks they have been up to.

Home for the weekend. Sounds good to me. Looking forward to it. I am so tired at the moment. It will be nice to get on the plane and have someone else drive me around for a while.

Meantime, I could do with a coffee. That salad for lunch really didn't do anything so I might go see what is in the fridge that looks good. I doubt it will be good for me, but right now I don't care.

Personals after a doze in the sun.

Have a great weekend everyone.

For some reason only known to 3fc, I cannot get another page to load!!
The only post i see this morning is Shad's from last night.
None of my page numbers are working when I click on them . Grrrrr

Anyway......We're all up early and ready for the HUD man.
Some of these poor old people are nervous. I feel sorry for them.
They're always afraid he's going to toss them out on their ear.

Social Security finally called me back.
We did part 1 yesterday & part 2 is the 28th.
She still hasn't told me what papers she wants
Part 1 was telling me she's calling on the 28th

Nothing else is new. Will try for personals later on in the day.
Hope you all have a good one

Shad....we will just have to install a video camera on top of your rental cars.
This way you will be able to keep both hands on the wheel!!!
You are so tired that you don't even know if you're flying home or lying in the sun
I hope you get some rest over the weekend.
Sounds to me like the men will be ok while you take time out for a snooze or read a good book Enjoy.

I'm beginning to think there's problems all over this sight.

I agree with Mel you need to attach a camera on top of the vehicle. Stay safe while on the road.

Morning all. TGIF!!!

Happy – Interesting about the road restrictions up there – a lot to be aware of. Do you learn about all this stuff from your cousin, or how – hope it’s not all by trial and error!?!? No, our current governor is certainly no prize either. Doormat more accurate. The person really running the state is the despicable speaker of the IL house of reps. If there’s a reason for term limits, it’s him. Since I’m not sure a burning voodoo doll will do the job, I might have to do my job in the primary and vote for a non-incumbent. Too bad the only person brave (or naïve/stupid?) enough to do run against him has no chance...but still. I dunno if it's worth having to announce to the world (okay, entire polling place) which party's ballot I'm going to vote. I've always hated that...

Oh, I see re the Rx’s . Yes, it’s definitely cheaper to get them through the mail order pharms. How irritating, if only they’d listen! I prefer the massage idea over spending big bucks for expensive pillows. I won’t go over a certain amount, I know that.

Michelle – Good you know you like the reporting work better and are going to go for that. With retirement being so uncertain and/or so far off for a lot of us, it helps to like what you do!! I’m glad you’re going to get some help with the cleaning. But it’s the decluttering first that’s a whole ‘nother job. Just don’t overdo – dh needs you!

Ceejay – Yay, I’m glad you’re going to the Smokey Mountains to join the family.

Shad – I hope you enjoy your weekend at home. I think the guys at the mine will be fine - and not having you at the ready to assist may help them be more resourceful.

Annie – Can’t blame yourself for not being focused on the matters at hand this week. Been a real toughie. How does the crown feel? If you’re not back here before leaving tomorrow, have a wonderful time on your vacation.

Mel – Hope the inspections are going well. Is it newbies who get nervous, or is it a regular thing for all of them? I should think knowing what to expect from the past inspections would alleviate some of that…

--

Ache & pain report: Back/neck felt pretty good yesterday, but back to twinge-y today. Bah. Been wanting to supplement my Pilates classes with some BE workouts, but I haven’t. If I do something this weekend, it’ll be wise if I stick to lower body work.

Did a wee bit of online searching for activities during my mom’s visit. She’s mentioned that my brother doesn’t want to see the minor league baseball team play, but she does, so that’s an option. Just need to pick a time when they’re at home. Also noted an art festival, and there seems to be a farmers’ market too. Have yet to check out the Branson piece.

Gave in to the chicken pot pie craving last night and bf and I tried the ones KFC now offers. Crust was good, but not enough chicken. Boston Market’s pie is better. Not that I can have those very often without feeling very guilty. Especially when the bp monitor's there to rat me out, lol.

Today’s the day for the tree work, and the boss man was sitting in his car at our curb when bf and I left the house this morning (he was dropping me off at the station today). Tonight we’re going to finally have our dinner at the steakhouse.

Dinner with bf’s mom is now a lunch retry on Sunday at the Greek place in which her complaint letter got her a $50 gift cert. Hope it's good... Otherwise, no other firm plans this weekend – yay. I will, however, spend more time in the home office working on the paper organizing and taxes.

Have a good day/evening/weekend everyone! And Happy St. Paddy’s Day if you’re celebrating.

Hi ladies,

Going to be 71 degrees today. Yum. Maybe we'll go for a ride this afternoon after we get chores done. The fly and ladybug populations are busy making whoopee and growing their families - bugs abound. The pharmacy called this morning - said they will take back one medication that is in the factory sealed bottle but I am stuck with the far more expensive one. Every little bit helps though. Going to make this a short post as I really have to get moving.

Annie - hope you have a great vacation. Enjoy some of those spring blooming flowers in TN but hold your breath - the pollen is horrid. I also hope this record warmth gives you beach temperatures.

Michelle - that's great that you got someone to help with the big ticket house cleaning stuff. Not a problem to ask for help sometimes. Now that I'm home I see just how much time it takes to devote to the cooking and cleaning things - wow - what a time sucker! And you have 2 jobs on top of it so let someone else help out. Glad to see that DH is resting and some of the initial meds are helping a bit. The rest will just take time but hopefully they can prescribe what he needs most. I'm glad you decided to go for doing something you are good at on the job - work is hard enough - you might as well enjoy it. And no amount of skills is a guarantee of longevity anymore other than getting your foot in the door in the first place.

Mel - it always astounds me how hard you have to fight for the few dollars you get compared to hoards of people who are scamming the system daily. It makes me very angry too. You are the kind of person I want to point to when the elephant party members start their drivel about not supporting welfare bums.

And I am so sick of these ignoramouses who cannot think for themselves other than to mimick stupid and disgusting names to disrepsect our current president. I don't see them doing anything to positively change this country - they fight every initiative the other party suggests, badmouth others, brainwash and bully their "supporters" and the biggest thing that gets my gall is how they all talk about God and family and then it comes out in the news how they want open marriages, have had long term affairs with women and men or have come by their money by exploiting others - soooo Christian, eh? The Democrats may not be perfect but these hypocritical Republicans and their sheeple followers are no better. Ok, end of rant.

Shad - glad you're home, you sound very tired. Hope you have a nice weekend to recharge the batteries.

Laura - chicken pot pies a once a year indulgence because the pastry is soooo good and that's what bumps up all the calories - otherwise it's just chicken ala king Have you considered doing some yoga (stretches) for your back and neck pains? I know you prefer the more active cardio but it might help pull out some of the tightness?

Ceejay - have a good time with your family this weekend.

Been off the b/p meds almost a week - still have this throat tickle. Not sure what to do. The only thing that helps is Actifed which they don't make any more. In fact when I was picking up my meds, a lady came into the pharmacy asking for it. I have a few expired pills I am hanging on to for worst case situations - they still work better than anything on the counter now.

Anyway I'd better get off the computer and get busy. Have a good Friday ladies.

I'm getting a lot minor stuff done today.

It's a beautiful day. I should have been outside but don't dare with all things in bloom.

Happy
Good that the pharmacy has agreed to take back one of the rx's. I agree that Actifed was a good product. I keep that "tickle" in my throat all year around due to drainage. I have both indoor outdoor type allergies. It has gotten some better since I've switched laundry detergents from Gain to Tide non allergen. I'm also wondering about the food.

Laura
Yum on the chicken pot pie. I've found Mrs. Calendar's pot pies to be good for store bought stuff. It can be microwaved too.

Mel
Has the inspector been there yet? Thanks for trying to calm down the seniors.

Okay, the morning is gone. I moved a long table into the home office with the intent of going through some papers, but ended up doing a spreadsheet log of all our gift cards - with $ amount and expiration. Actually, it doesn't seem that any of those have expirations. We have a lot of gift cards! And I still haven't done a list of those that are just mine...Anyway, that all started with the question "do we still have a Williams Sonoma gift card?" The answer is yes, and there's almost $60 left on it!

A gorgeous day out there!! We're on our way to breaking the temp record for the 4th day in a row!

Our tree work isn't done - they still haven't finished the tree removal, let alone the shrub removal and other tree trimming. They needed to replace parts on their chain saws (thanks to our hard oak tree, lol), so they couldn't come back today. They said they'd come back tomorrow, but we're not too keen on having them out on a Sunday. I think bf told them to come back Monday.

Attaching before and after photos. Have a good day everyone!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!

I'm pretty tired. I've been cleaning/decluttering since 8 am (occasionally taking breaks when my back demanded it - like right now). The house cleaner arrived at 10 am and is just finishing up now. She did a great job! I told her I will bring her back in about a month to help with cleaning for DMIL's visit.

DH is quite sore and tired today. Yet he wants to run a couple errands with me. I think he's just stir crazy after being laid up for so long. I told him he'll have to use the scooter carts at the store.

I hope you all are having a good St. Patty's Day.

love,

My get together with sister's family is not till July but I'm already looking forward to it.

Went to Paragould today. My cousins were in Paragould to visit with their mom. We had a good visit.

Helped my uncle back up his computer. He hasn't been defragmenting nor cleaning his computer like I told him too. So we did that. I didn't get home till after 5 p.m. He doesn't have much space left on his computer either.
------
Michelle
DH must be feeling better. Did he do okay running errands with you? Doesn't it feel good to have your house cleaned and decluttered. Mine looks good too. Now to keep it that way.

Mel
They should learn to listen to you. But I'm proud that you stayed out of their way.

Laura
Your yard is going to look a lot different.
