:cofdate: MORNING EVERYONE.

LUCKILY THE CONCIERGE ACTOSS THE STREET IN THE LUXURY CONDOS SAW THE FLOOD AND CALLED THE POLICE & FIRE DEPT. WATER WATER EVERYWHERE AND NONE OF IT DRINKABLE! WENT BACK TO SLEEP AND NOW JOHN CAN WAIT FOR THE PLUMBER.
NOTHING NEW HERE. SAME PAIN DIFFERENT DAY. :faint:
KEEPING IT EASY TODAY. HAPPY WEDNESDAY :moped:

SHAD....MAYBE THEY WILL PAY US TO TAKE YOU BACK!!! THEN WE CAN BUILD THE COMMUNE RIGHT AWAY. BETTER GET US A DOCTOR THOUGH....CAUSE I THINK I'M GONNA NEED ANOTHER OPINION!!:lol3:

CEEJAY...HOPE THE STORMS KEPT GOING AND YOU GOT ALL THE POWER BACK. JUST WHEN YOU THINK THE WEATHER HAS CALMED DOWN A BIT IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN:rain:

LAURA....NOW THAT YOU'RE ALL ALL CHIC YOU CAN RIDE YOUR SOON TO BE NEW BIKE IN STYLE!! HOPE ALL THE OTHER STUFF MAKES GOOD MONEY WHEN IT'S SOLD. YOU'LL BE GETTING LOTS OF EXERCISE THIS SUMMER!

MICHELLE...SOUNDED LIKE A VERY BUSY AFTERNOON LINED UP FOR YOU. HOPE THE MASSAGE WAS GOOD AND DINNER WITH THE NIECE TOO:hun:

ANNIE....JUST ENJOY ALL THAT DOWN TIME AND LET YOUR BODY & MIND REST UP. LIFE IN THE SLOW LANE FOR A FEW WEEKS IS A GOOD THING. GO WITH THE FLOW!! MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

diyana 06-29-2011 08:03 AM

Hi everyone -

The massage yesterday was good. She was able to give me the type of massage I really needed. It was painful..but she really worked out a lot of the knots in my low back and hamstrings.

I have PT today which will be a bit of stretching followed by a kick butt workout. I'll be taking DMIL out to dinner tonight, and stopping at the library on the way home.

Dinner with my niece was really nice. I've got to figure out how to talk to her about something though. She's 32, and she is sad/frustrated at times because she always thought she'd be married with kids by now. Problem is, she's found herself in one dysfunctional relationship after another. She's really in a rush to have kids...to the point where she's seriously considering "settling" for a guy that isn't right for her or who has very different values and ideas about life, including styles of parenting. I told her that she's got time. Our cousin had her first baby when she was 40, and she and the baby were fine. And our cousin had A LOT more medical issues to make it a really high risk pregnancy. She wonders if she'll ever find the right guy. I told her there are good guys out there...but the important thing IMHO is when you're looking for something long term...don't spend years of your life staying with someone who is clearly not "long-term" just because it's comfortable. Obviously, if she wasn't looking for husband/father of her kids material, then she could settle with less than perfect if she wanted to. Sorry, I'm just rambling. *sigh* I'd much rather see her postpone kids for a couple years than settle for a guy that would result in an unhappy marriage. :(

************

Ceejay - I hope the power outage didn't cause any major problems.

Shad - Glad to hear you're back in Brisbane. :) That sucks that they cram you into the tiniest, most uncomfortable seats for your flights.

Annie - I resist using the A/C too. But when it's a choice between A/C or not being able to sleep because it's too hot in the house, A/C wins every time. I hope you are able to enjoy your time off, and relax or spend time with Sissy or Dad. Yes, please take your meds to keep the depression at bay. Listen to Mel, a week or so in the slow lane might do you some good.

Mel - Sorry you had such a rough night. I hope you get to relax today.

A big  to everyone! I'll check back later.

Lots of love,

ceejay52 06-29-2011 09:03 AM

Mel
Fully understand about all the water. That's one of the reason's we try to shut the plant down before the storms. We'd have water every where too if it were not for shutting the plant down.

Michelle
I wish I could talk to my neice about some things in her life. I think she need's a different viewe other than mom. My sis was 39 when she had my neice. He pregnancy wasn't easy but both did fine. That message sounds so good. I may have to do that soon.

Annie
Enjoy your day's off. Makes me think I need to take a couple more day's off.

-------
Our storm did a lot of damage. Think it was straight line winds but it sure did a lot of property damage with uprooted tree's. The electrical crew worked till 1 p.m. Our stand by person for the week called this morning to see if any one else called. Yes there had, so i gave him the address. One person called and told me that we needed to do something about the power going off so much. I told her that we don't have control over the works of GOD.

Laura705 06-29-2011 11:57 AM

Morning all. Note I didn't say "Good". Beginning to see the light at the end of this week, however, as far as work is concerned.

Ceejay - It sure would be nice if all this severe weather went away for a while.

Shad - I think I stopped my business travel just in time (pre-9/11 and pre-airline financial troubles). Do NOT envy you the cramped flights. We all know it's not healthy for people to have gotten heavier and bigger, but the fact is that we do take up more space. It is ridiculous that the airlines don't care and keep trying to cram more seats into their planes. But as long as passengers (or their employers, in your case) are willing to trade comfort for a lower price fare, smaller seats will remain.

Annie - The only way you could stay cool sans AC is if you sat around all day with a cool drink in your hand and the fan blowing at you. And we all know you won't sit still, so just turn on that AC!! :D

Mel - Back to "never a dull moment". :D Keep it easy girlfriend. :)

Michelle - Glad the massage went well. Sorry your niece is feeling pressured by her biological clock. She probably does have more time, so I hope she doesn't settle. Why build a life based on a foundation that she knows isn't completely solid to begin with?

Hellos to Ellen and Happy!!

***

I went to the “Tighter Assets” class last night. It was a different instructor and I don’t know why, but I liked her better. She was just as tough as the other instructor, so I worked my butt off. I’m already starting to feel sore...

I'm furious at bf because he spent about double what I would have considered a reasonable amount on a bike for himself. It was one that he had looked at a few weeks ago and told me about which I dismissed as far too expensive. I'm so angry! As far as I'm concerned he can eat, sleep and !@#$% that bike.

Deep breath. On with the day.

diyana 06-29-2011 01:08 PM

Ceejay - Sorry to hear about all the storm damage. I can't believe people complaining saying YOU should do something about the power going off during bad storms. As if you have control over the wind...sheesh!

Laura - Just a couple more days left to this work week...then a long weekend! Ahhhhh. Glad you enjoyed the Tighter Assets class and got a good workout. That sucks that your bf bought an expensive bike. I hope he rides it enough to make it worth the large investment.

I AM GOING TO POST NOW INSTEAD OF TOMORROW. LORD I HAD A PROTEIN SHAKE AND THEN WISHED I WAS DEAD FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS.
APPARENTLY TOO MUCH BULK. IT WOULDN'T GO PAST THE PAIN ZONE:cry: FEELING MUCH BETTER NOW. I KNOW IT'S NOT DAIRY CAUSE I CAN DRINK MILK AND HAVE SOME CHEESE. WTF!!! TOMORROW IS THE INSPECTION AND THEN I AM DOING NOTHING BUT SIT, NOT TALK AND NOT DRINK ANYTHING!!
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY! SWEET DREAMS TONITE.

CEEJAY....I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT ALL THE DAMAGES THESE STORMS ARE STILL DOING. SCARY TO SAY THE LEAST.
GOOD ANSWER ABOUT THE "WORKS OF GOD"....SOMETIMES I WONDER WHAT PEOPLE EXPECT:rollpin:

ANNIE...HOW IS YOUR DD?? I DON'T REMEMBER HEARING HOW THE DR APPT WENT. MUST HAVE MISSED IT.
TURN ON THE A/C AND I'LL BRING THE UMBRELLA DRINKS!!!:beach:

LAURA.....GLAD THE CLASS WENT GOOD AND YOU LIKED THE INSTRUCTOR. MAYBE SHE CAN COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND TOSS THE BOYFRIEND OVER HER SHOULDER. THEN YOU CAN BOTH PIN HIM DOWN & SMACK HIM FOR THE $$$ HE SPENT!!! MEN AND THEIR IDEAS OF NECESSITIES!!! HOPE IT'S A GOOD BIKE AT LEAST.

Shad 06-29-2011 07:24 PM

Morning all, back in town for a period of time at least. Don't think I am going away with this mob again.
My old mate Mick has sorted out some new work for me which will involve fly in/ fly out work in Western Australia. It's good money and will be for a fairly long period of time. Either that or he will send me to Darwin for a job up there. Either way, it seems I have work to do after this.

Can't do personals right now. I should be doing some work. I'll be back.

happy2bme 06-30-2011 12:06 AM

Hey all,

Quick post for me. Getting ready for a road trip. Took Mom shopping tonight. I really could NOT spare the time but she wanted some things and I just couldn't say no. It killed the entire evening. I should have started packing my own stuff tonight but didn't get home until after 8:30 and we didn't even have supper. Next couple of days will be a whirlwind. Doubt I'll get in here.

Shad - I'm glad to hear that you won't have to be dealing with this contract for much longer and that Mick came through for you. Get what you can done and leave the rest for the next poor sod. Your experience with the airplanes is exactly why I no longer have any interest whatsoever about flying any more. The seats are so tight - one of the last times I was on a plane when the person in front of me swung their seat back. I was so claustrophic I almost had a panic attack on the plane. We were taking off and I couldn't calm down and DH yelled at me to knock it off. I sucked it up but I'm pretty much over the cattle car and can't afford to fly first class, so you will just have to come visit us again instead of us flying over ;) I find those smaller commuter flight planes are the absolute worst. Even my Mom complained this last flight and she's a tiny lady.

Mel - sorry you got sick on the protein shake. I guess everything is just very sensitive on your insides. Quiet is just what you need and I guess this was a brick to the head reminder. Just wish we could get a snowball instead of a brick. Glad you are back with us again but don't go over doing it.

Michelle - sorry that you might have to miss the festival this weekend. I know how much you enjoy it. I guess you have to be like Mel and take it easier than you might want to. I will join you in a Motrin cocktail and Ben Gay chaser come Sunday or Monday. Take it easy and enjoy your weekend. Good luck with the talk with the niece. Hard to ignore the siren call of bambinos. Just remind her of the struggles current parents are having with their teenagers - that might be off putting enough. ;)

Annie - find something fun to do while you are off. Don't spend it all cleaning and gardening. And enjoy your vacation. Don't go into CVS mid week, announce you are bored and pick up someone's shift! :s:  I'm not sure if it's a blessing or curse that you can't sit still. Did you decide on the pole dancing classes?

Laura - I can understand your frustration with the BF and the bike but speaking from experience with a husband with 4 guitars, there's no stopping boys and their toys. At least it's a bike he can enjoy riding with you - not sitting in a bar or spending it on a fantasy football betting. Sometimes you just have to let them give in to their indulgences. I think when we don't beech to them, it throws them off kilter because they don't know what to expect :dizzy:

Ceejay - sounds like you got much more damage from the storms then we did. Lots of dark skies and driving rains but thankfully no damaging winds. Make sure you book some time in that new recliner this weekend.

Hope you are doing well Ellen as well as the kids.

For those of us in the States, have a nice long holiday weekend. Don't be playing with fireworks :nono: I'll be out of touch for a while but back eventually. See yahs.

happy2bme 06-30-2011 12:12 AM

oh and after much struggles and fights and pushing and pulling, the new bath remodel is DONE. It looks very nice. I'm glad I spent alot of money making my house nice for someone else. I'd take it up north if I could although those baths have nice wood cabinets and a jet tub - just not the gorgeous granite counter and beautiful light fixture I have here. I will post pictures when we get back.

annie175 06-30-2011 08:09 AM

Morning all....

Just not in the mood to do personals this morning...the last two weeks have been h*ll at home, work, the other work, and life...just a lot of small crap that all put together made one huge crap pile. My head is hurting, and want to sleep, somehow the peeps here do not approve. Working a half day today and half day tomorrow. Then I am done for an entire week, unless it the rain they are predicting EVERY day next week happens, then I am coming into work and not wasting perfectly good vacation days.

Mellie...I did want to answer your question about DD. I think she is mostly over the majority of sickness. She has a cute baby bump now, but still has not gained any weight. Still at -6 lbs. She is offically 4 mos along, 17 weeks. It is going really fast to be going so slow...does that make sense?

I will be checking in here and there along the way, depending on what I am doing on what days....

Loves and hugs,

Good morning! Sorry this summer has me MIA. been trying to eat better, and get some exercise in, but it has been difficult. Dh is on vacation starting tomorrow and I am off for a week after Sunday. Hope everyone is doing good. will attemptto catch up one of these days.

Luv and Hugs

Laura705 06-30-2011 10:53 AM

Morning all.

Michelle - I'm not really speaking to bf right now, but he certainly hasn't heard the end of my thoughts on that pricey bike.

Shad - Glad Mick's got some other assignments lined up for you - this last one was a major PITA for you. Must feel nice to be home. :)

Mel - Sorry the protein bar didn't go down well. Glad you're feeling better today! Enjoy the gorgeous day and hope you get your 3-4 days of quiet. :sunny:

Happy - Hope you're almost ready for your road trip. Safe travels! I know it'll be a grueling drive with the trailer and all, but be sure to enjoy the comfort of being in your own vehicle vs. the airplane experience. People sitting in front of me on the plane who put their seats all the way back usually find it much less comfortable than they thought. Somehow there's just so much jostling with the seatback - the magazine pouch, the tray table... As for bf's bike - I know there are worse things, but right now I'd like to take his !@#$% silver spoon and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Annie - Sorry you've had a crappy two weeks. I think in spite of the weather forecast, you need to take this vacation time to take a breather. Decompress and enjoy being away from the grind. And coming from the world's worst planner this sounds lame, but definitely make plans for some FUN activities.

Ellen - Speaking of fun activities - any planned for when your dh is on vacay? I'm not thrilled about the hot steamy weather coming our way, but I'm going to try and not let it stop me with whatever it is I decide to do.

Hi Ceejay!!

Not much to report. After work I went to Walmart and picked up groceries and some other stuff. They didn't have my facial cleanser in stock, grrr. Somehow some dip chips found their way into my cart, but luckily I forgot to buy the dip. Prolly woulda snarfed down half the bag.

Tonight I will do another exercise class - maybe just the circuit class. I'm up for another tighter assets class, but not for the other instructor scheduled to lead it. I dunno. I think I just need to go in there and do it even though I'm still sore from Tuesday's class! I will stop at the market afterwards because Walmart also doesn't have the brand yogurt I like - and I still need that dip!

Okay, I'm going to get this posted, finish up two of my projects, and move on to the next items on the never-ending list.

diyana 06-30-2011 11:44 AM

Hi everyone -

Well, my niece got an invite to go to Summerfest with one of her co-trainers. So that works out well since I'm in too much pain to take her. Hopefully, this person won't drink too much so they'll be able to drive her to our house. I worry about her because she's in a strange city...but I have to remember she's 32. She's a grown woman. She's been all over the country with this training job, so she can handle it. Anyway, I could use a relaxing evening. DMIL is fixing a roast for me and DH.

I'm so looking forward to having 5 days off (Friday through Tuesday). :beach: Just 5 more hours until the long weekend starts!!

*************************
Mel - I'm so sorry that the protein shake caused you so much pain!! :yikes: I'm glad you're starting to feel a little better. I hope the inspection goes well today. So nice of you to check the seniors' apartments before the inspection. I hope you have a quiet and relaxing long weekend.

Shad - Such a bummer that this assignment became more of a PITA with each passing day. I'm glad Mick has lined up some assignments for you. :)

Happy - Wishing you very safe travels. Enjoy your time off as you take the first load up to the new house. You're on for the Motrin cocktail and Ben Gay chaser! I'm glad to hear the new bath remodel is done.

Annie - I agree with Happy....no going into CVS mid-week to pick up extra work shifts! Spend time with Sam, or dad or take pole dancing classes. Anything to get your mind off working. I hope the pile of crap gets smaller and your headache eases up so you can be happy again. :grouphug:  Good for you for taking 1/2 day off today and tomorrow!! I agree with Laura...whatever the weather...please take a break from all the work stress. Get some rest, sista. I know I really need to decompress and I'm not 1/10 as busy as you are.

Ellen - Welcome back! Glad to hear from you!! So nice that you and DH can enjoy some time off together! Enjoy your time together as a family!

Laura - Sorry that things aren't going well with your BF. Is there any way you could talk him into taking it back and getting a less pricey model? eh, probably not. As Happy says...boys and their toys...even though it sometimes infuriates the heck out of us :tantrum: Are you going to Taste of Chicago? Or going anywhere special to watch fireworks? Good for going to exercise class tonight. I picked up some Jillian Michaels DVDs from the Library...in case I get inspired to workout (and my back allows me to) this weekend. Saturday I'll have enough of a workout walking around MSI. Good luck with getting your projects done.

Wishing all of us Stateside a fantastic long weekend (or vacay). And wishing Shad a pleasant time at home (finally).

Love and hugs to all,

diyana 06-30-2011 01:48 PM

this is me venting...

I'm still a little annoyed or hurt that when I brought up Summerfest, she wasn't too into it...and she said she didn't want to see Kanye West. But when her co-worker invites her...then she's thrilled she got Kanye tickets. Whateva. Maybe it's just not cool to go with your 50 yr old aunt who has to use a walker. DUH, Chelle! That would DEFINITELY NOT be cool Oh well...someday, I'll be able to walk and fest again!

Also, DH brought up a good point....that whenever my niece visits, I try so hard to make everything PERFECT for her...the house, the planned activities, etc., that I lose sight of everything and everyone else. He said it seems to him that I am constantly trying to impress my big sister through my niece, like I'm trying so hard to get my big sister's approval. And, he's right. I never really thought about it...but he is right. Why should it matter? Why should I care? :dunno:

happy2bme 06-30-2011 02:03 PM

It is definitely a bitter pill to swallow that we are indeed NOT hot little 20 somethings like we think we are in our heads. I had my rude awakening about 2 years ago. And it was at a time when I was thoroughly aggrivated over other things. DH brought it up, tried to be gentle and when I calmed down and thought about it, he was right. We all have our time in the spotlight and then time to move on. Funny I see it with my co-workers who are 10 years younger than me. I see them try and be hip and cool and they are really aging themselves by trying too hard. We have to be hot Sofia Lorens, Raquel Welches or Jaclyn Smiths - our days of being Shakira or Brittany are over and we only look foolish if we can't accept that. So yeah Michelle, maybe rockin' with Kanye is better done with the niece's friend. Be the fun aunt, not the partner in crime. Interesting point your DH made about trying to impress the older sister. Sometimes we have to listen to our guys, they see things through different eyes - with a heart that cares about us - and in the long run they are just trying to look out over our best interest. We don't always listen with open ears though.

My sister has decided to get a room for the night at the Mom drop off point. At least I will get to see her and BIL. I'm excited about that.

I'm trying not to think of everything that needs to be done tonight less I stress out. Just peeking in here while gobbling lunch.

Wish you all a nice, relaxing weekend. Seems like we will all be baking, at least on this side of the pond. Heat wave! Take care everyone :grouphug:

diyana 06-30-2011 02:32 PM

Happy - Thanks for the kind comments. It is a bitter pill...because in my heart and soul, I FEEL like I'm in my late 20s or early 30s...but my body tells me otherwise. The bands I wanted to see at Summerfest this year were REO Speedwagon and Styx, which would have more people "my age" in the audience. I think rather than hot Sofia, Raquel or Jaclyn, I'll be hot Sheryl Crow or Sandra Bullock. They're still looking great even after all they've been through. You're right about what our guys tell us...and how we don't always have open ears. DH prefaced his comment to me by saying "don't take this the wrong way, but...". Glad you'll be able to spend a little time with your sister and BIL.

ceejay52 06-30-2011 06:28 PM

My aunt laughed at me one day when told her I looked down at my legs and gasped and asked who's legs are these.

Michelle
Sorry that your are in pain again. The mil was sweet to put in a roast for you and dh. I've never been in competition with either of my sister's. They were both smarter than me. In fact I always felt intimidated by them. I feel more at ease since we have gotten older and that my job is equal to theirs in pay. I let it slip one day as to how much I made per year. I could see that my sis was struggling with that, then she decided that she'd become a Nurse Practitioner. I've thought about going back to get my EPA license but do not have the want to.

Happy
Enjoy the trip and safe traveling.

Mel
You were up before 6 a.m. I hate inspections. How often does the building have them? Enjoy the quiet of the afternoon and hope the meetings tonight are short.

It's hot outside, and I'm saying inside because of it. Even went to work out this morning. Did reps on 5 different machines and then rode the Precor Bike for 20 minutes. When I came home my house was almost cleaned and the laundry I had in the dryer was hung in my closet and the sheet were dried and they were putting them on my bed. Lawn was mowed today also. I even took 2 naps today, One in the recliner and one on the couch.
Think I'm going to the Huddle House to get a sandwich for supper. Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment for a blood draw.

Laura and Ellen have a good week end.

:coffee: RISE AND SHINE CHICKIES!!

THE END OF THE WEEK IS HERE AND WE CAN BEGIN CELEBRATING THE FOURTH!! :dancer: LAST NIGHT BOTH MEETINGS WENT WELL BUT A BIT SLOW. TOO MUCH NEW BUSINESS WITH A NEW BUILDING COMING SOON AND THE GROUND BREAKING BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER. SO THEY LIED!! WHAT ELSE IS NEW. TOLD THEM I MIGHT NOT BE HERE FOR THE NEST MEETING AND THE LAWYER SAID HE WOULD DRAW UP PAPERS FOR A SPECIFIC VOTE THEY NEED TO GET THE BUILDING UNDERWAY. IT CANNOT BE DONE BY PHONE OR PROXY. THEY BETTER DO WHAT THEY SAY OR IT MIGHT BE JUST TOUGH LUCK FOR THEM FOR A CHANGE.
JEN WENT SHOPPING FOR ME WHILE I WAS THERE AND HOW NICE TO COME UP AND FIND EVERYTHING PUT AWAY. JUST RELAXED AND WENT TO BED.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY!! :moped:

ELLEN...HAVE A GREAT VACATION. ENJOY ALL THE SUMMER MONTHS AND HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL. TAKE CARE.

LAURA....NO SNARFING ALLOWED WHEN IT COMES TO JUNK FOOD!!:lol3: :lol3: I CRACKED UP. MADE MY MOUTH WATER FOR THE ONION DIP OF OLD!!! I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS WELL!! OHHHH AND THE CREAM CHEESE & CHIVES SPREAD!!:hun: MAKING MYSELF HUNGRY OVER HERE:drool:

CEEJAY........HOW GREAT TO COME HOME AND FIND EVERYTHING GETTING DONE. I MUST HAVE MISSED SOMETHING NWHILE I WAS GONE? A HOUSEKEEPER? OR IS IT THE TWO GIRLS STILL? YOU MADE ME LAUGH ABOUT LOOKING AT YOUR LEGS. JUST LAST NIGHT I SAID TO JEN..."WHO'S SKIN IS THIS ON MY ARMS & LEGS?". SHE CRACKED UP TOO. WE HAVE THIS PARTICULAR INSPECTION EVERY 2 YEARS NOW. GOVT CUTBACKS....USED TO BE EVERY YEAR. HOPE THE STORMS LEAVE YOU ALONE OVER THE HOLIDAY!!

MICHELLE... SORRY I MISSED THE SUMMERFEST POST. I DON'T THINK ITS THE WALKER AND AGE. TRY NOT TO TAKE THAT KIND OF STUFF TOO PERSONALLY. WHEN BEING "different" WE HAVE A TENDANCY TO BLAME IT ON OUR "weakness". I THINK SHE IS JUST YOUNG AND ENERGETIC AND GOT CARRIED AWAY. MAYBE HUBBY IS RIGHT...HIS WORDS RANG RIGHT IN MY OWN EAR. LOL LIKE YOU, I AM A PEOPLE PLEASER. THEN AM EASILY HURT WHEN SOMEONE DOESN'T SEE IT. I HAVE BEEN REALLY WORKING ON GETTING RID OF THIS AND HOPE YOU CAN TOO. IF PEOPLE DON'T LOVE US FOR OURSELVES THEN WE SHOULD BE SAYING SCREW IT!  THINK GOOD THOUGHTS THIS WEEKEND

annie175 07-01-2011 10:19 AM

Morning All......

Chelle...I know what you mean about the youngers putting us in another category them then. As much as I love DD, she excludes me a LOT because I just don't FIT. My mind says 25, my body says 90. I feel your pain, sweet sista...I guess we just have to stick together. I too, would love to see REO and STYX. Two of my very favorites, which actually ages us...lol

SHADDIE...saw on FB that you may actually have to work this weekend. Bummer....hope you get to enjoy at least a little bit of your weekend. Glad to hear you may actually have some work coming up that you might like.

Laura...Walk away from the dip and chips....stay clear...they may be hazardous to your health. At least get the lowfat dip...lol

Ceejay...sometimes I am glad to have only brothers...no competition there, other times, when I need them to help out with parents, I wish I had sisters. Glad you are enjoying your recliner...take a nap for me.

MELLIE....hope you are not overdoing it. Take this 3 day weekend, phone unplugged, sign on door, relax...we do not want a relapse. Nice of Jen to get groceries and put them away for you.....what a good daughter.

Happy...just take one day at a time and don't stress over the move. Get done what you can each day and relax.

Ellen...enjoy your time off and your family. Make is fun for yourself as well.

Later chicklets...got lots to do in this half day...may be a 2/3rds day....

Love and Hugs

Laura705 07-01-2011 10:47 AM

Morning all. TGIF!!!

Michelle - Maybe your niece just feels happy that she can still go to Summerfest and that you don't have to feel bad about having to cancel? Whatever it is, I'm sorry your feelings were hurt. You two sound like you get along really well, but I think your dh may have a point. As for me, I don't have any plans this weekend yet. Bf told me my friend phoned yesterday about what we're doing, but I didn't phone back and I was non-commital to bf. After last weekend, I want to take it easy. I'll get back in touch w/ her, but tell her I'm probably not up for seeing the band she wanted to see, but maybe if she wants to come over for a cookout or something... I definitely won't be going to Taste of Chicago - the crowds are just too much for me, and with it heating up - no way! I prefer smaller fests. We usually go to our village's fireworks display. So how was the roast DMIL made? :)

Happy - No stressing out!! Nice that you'll spend a little bit of time w/ your sister and bil. Safe travels!! BTW - I wouldn't mind being Jaclyn Smith at all!!

Ceejay - You had a very productive day yesterday. Good job on the exercise - and mowing too??!! Wow. Stay cool. LOL re whose legs those are. :D When I walk down the street behind other women, I'm often wondering Do the back of my arms look like that? My legs? And having returned to the office just yesterday, I checked myself out in the restroom mirror and the answer was "not quite", but not as good as I'd hoped. Sigh.

Mel - Sorry they lied and the meeting went longer than they said. Boo! Very cute graphic this morning - missed those while you were away. :) Not gonna mention snarfing, but I did get to the store last night for that dip, LOL.

Hellos to Shad, Annie & Ellen!

After work I had just enough time to walk doggy and then make it to an exercise class. I thought I wouldn't make the 6:50 tighter assets class, and was shooting for the 7:00 circuit class instead, but then I realized I could make the TA so I did that one. The instructor is growing on me, and I appreciated her slower pace because the instructor in the Tuesday class just moved from one routine right to another without skipping a beat. Not that the moves themselve were any easier, LOL. I'm feeling a bit creaky today and I suppose my muscles will be in a world of hurt later today...we'll see. Gonna make sure I get up and walk around throughout the day today to keep from getting too stiff.

Office closes at 3 pm today, so that's nice. No plans whatsoever. My laundry piled up since I did none last weekend nor any loads during the week. I'd like to plant shrubs in some spots where we never gotten around to replacing ones that didn't make it a couple years ago. With the heat I 'm not sure I want to do any planting though. I will, however, take some photos of our hydrangeas - they are starting to bloom and look great.

Okay, time to stop rambling. Everyone have a great weekend!

Morning all,
Quick one since I am trying to get some housework done before going to work this weekend. I did all the washing last night and will hang it out as soon as it gets light enough. Miss Puss is trying to make a decision as to how long she can hang out before she absolutely has to go outside. Since she has hardly been out since 4.00pm yesterday, it won't be long I am picking. Suck it up princess, so the ground is cold on your weenie butt - it's winter live with it.

You gotta love office politics - among the trainers still on board and in the office this week, there is one who is for some reason the blue-eyed favourite. She got to do a training session for the middle management on time entry on Wednesday and as usual she and the change management only had half the story. The woman who did all the doco and put in the hours to understand the process was totally ignored. Therefore E and I had to carry the parts where A fell down because she did not ask any questions beforehand. Operations people do not use cost centres A. Oh don't they - so where do their costs go to? Against a standing work order which is costed out to a WBS. They do not need to enter anything but the work order number and their time. Oh so how do they account for time off. They book leave same as anyone else. So they use a cost centre for that. No - when you book leave the system looks at the leave quota and deducts the new leave from the quota. No need for cost centres. Their site has a cost centre and that is used for everything thing they do outside the work order but they do not have to enter it.
So they would do this to enter time? No. They only have to press the Enter my Time button from the front screen, enter the work order number or numbers and enter the time in the appropriate day.
So where do the cost centre come into it.

Actually looking at that conversation, it could be set to the tune of 'There's a hole in my bucket, dear Lisa'.
Now I have a meeting with the change manager and the project manager to get the facts straight on time sheeting on Monday. They think they are going to force us to use the portal because it is the only place that we can see the different time structures - eg if I need time off to go to a dentist or whatever, but I just know the guys will not do it. There is so much effort just to get into the portal that they will just through their hands up in horror and say it is all to hard, but the button on the desktop, plus about 3 or 4 keystrokes is reasonable. Diplomacy be buggered, I'm past that now.

Anyway, daylight has finally broken. Time to go hang out the washing - hope you all have a wonderful long weekend. Seize the opportunities the day brings and try to get along with all mankind. Now there is a difficult task I have set you.

Ooop's did I say that I mowed the lawn. It was being done also when I got home yesterday.

Shad
Enjoy your time at home. Miss Sunday has probably missed you alot and doesn't want to letyou out of her sight. Did I miss where your new job will take you?

Mel
I've hired my neighbor to clean my house ever 2 weeks. Why not make her earn the money instead of me getting nothing back. The 2 girls down the street are making plans to move to Hot Springs, AR. They are ready to leave but their brother and his friend are not there yet. They are supposed to get a moving truck tomorrow in Jonesboro.

My doctor's appointment went well except for my weigh in and I knew it would be higer than normal. I've been retaining fluid. Don't know why but the summer heat does me this way. My doctor should have been home. He was having a painful time getting up and down. He said he was getting to on all fours pulling weeds and hurt his back. I'm to start back on my thyroid med by taking half of what I had before until the results come back Tuesday. And since my chief complaint was being tired all the time he had his nurse give me a b12. My last blood work showed my iron was low so he told me to start taking a multivitamin with iron. He wants me to come back in a month and bring all my meds so he can go over them with me. This time I asked to have my magnesium, vitamin d and b12 level's checked.

Well I have a decision to make. Do I buy a new computer or buy a battery? This one has finally died. They are easy to install on this computer but a brand new on is expensive

IT'S NOT A GOOD ENVIROMENT TO WORK IN. DRAMA AND NEGATIVITY. BUT HE AND HIS WIFE LOOKED AT CONDOS IN FLORIDA AND ARE READY TO MAKE THE MOVE NEXT YEAR.

NOTHING NEW HERE. RESTING AND TV. I AM GOING TO COMPOSE A L;ETTER TO FAX OUT ON TUES OR WEDS UNLESS A MIRACLE HAPPENS. THERE IS STILL JUST TOO MUCH PAIN TO DEAL WITH. KEEPING TO MYSELF FOR THE LONG WEEKEND AND A VERY LOW PROFILE!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY:moped:

CEEJAY....I AM GLAD YOU HIRED SOMEONE. GOOD FOR YOU. HOPE THE 1/2 DOSE WORKS OUT OK AND YOU FEEL BETTER SOON. IF YOU ARE TAKING ANY SINUS MED WITH THE "D" AFTER THE NAME IE: CLARITAN D OR ZYRTEC D, THEN YOU WILL BE TIRED. I CAN'T TAKE ANY "D" (DECONGESTANT) PRODUCTS. JEN & I FALL ASLEEP!! SENDING A HUG

SHAD....ME THINKS THERE IS A LOT MORE THAN JUST A HOLE IN THE BUCKET....SOUNDS LIKE THE WHOLE BOTTOM FELL OUT. HOPE YOU CAN GET PAST ALL THIS AND ON TO THE NEW JOB SOON!! POOR MISS PUSS. SEND HER TO JEN AND SHE CAN WINTER OVER HERE. :beach:

LAURA...BET THE HYDRANGEAS LOOK BEAUTIFUL. EVERYTHING IS BLOOMING HERE TOO. HOPE THE WEEKEND IS NICE AND QUIET. DON'T MENTION THE WASH....I WOULD RATHER HEAR ABOUT THE FRASSING DIP!:lol3: :lol3:

Time to start a new thread for us in July but no clue how to? Well I could figure it out, but don't want to put the effort into it....yesterday's half day turned into not leaving til 2:30 pm. We had 5 new groups to enroll, which means $$ for Humana and Beth, the salesperson, but lots of work for me. Unfortunately, I only got 4 groups enrolled, didn't have all the required info from the last group to git er done! Probably Tuesday and I won't be there, sorry about them.

My older, youngest brother blew into town yesterday. He bought me dinner, which was very nice. My other brother, the band one, is playing tonight in a park, back in the sticks, where I lived when married, tonite, we are all going to that. Should be fun and will get to see some of the old friends. Then tomorrow, I am going with brother (in town one) and nephew, to see the movie Transformers, I do not particularly want to see it, but oh well. Then dinner.

No plans for the 4th, but sure hope something comes about....Tuesday is rest day in my yard and house. Wednesday nite dinner with Leanne, (bf that help sissy throw my 50th bd party) We are going to Maggiano's. Italian joint...they have a selected menu during the week, if you chose something from it, you get a free identical meal, to go, free...what a deal. Thursday is dinner with another GF, Kristin, haven't seen her in about a year, but talk to her often...she only lives 15 minutes from here... Thursday or Friday I am cleaning carpets. YIK. Sat & Sun no plans but hope something comes about.

Have a great weekend all..

Love and hugs.

Oh, I could hide 'neath the wings of the bluebird as she sings
The six o'clock alarm would never ring
But it rings and I rise wipe the sleep out of my eyes
The shavin' razor's cold, and it stings

Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean
To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?

You once thought of me as a white knight on his steed
Now you know how happy I can be
Oh, and our good times start and end without dollar one to spend
But how much baby do we really need?

Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean
To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?
Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean
To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?

Cheer up, sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean
To a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?
