  • Hello all. It is so hot today, with our wonderfu humidity the temps. will soar between 105 and 110! Too hot to go outside and do anything! Doing good so far with my eating, keeping my journal going and the blood sugar is still ok, hoping I can get it to stay below 100 and stay there. Have a blessed day.
  • burgundy - I know what you mean totally - I was having exactly that issue until I decided to crank it up a notch in July and go back to basics (like we did at the beginning of our efforts - track everything you eat, commit to an exercise program, no treats, etc). Is August gonna be that month for you? Let's see - maybe if we appeal to your competitive side - wanna post daily weigh-ins for a while? And see how quickly we can move the dial?

  • Dance- I dont know what it is. TOM is over now so maybe I can get on track. I wanted to eat everything I saw during TOM. Im not usually like that. If I do the daily weigh ins, who else is in?? I dont wanna be the only one.

    We are going out of town for the weekend. Going to another pow wow. Then going camping in a couple weeks. Gonna take my bike and get in lots of walks. Picked some raspberries with my sister in law and niece around my house today. Made a semi healthy raspberry cobbler with wheat flour and sweetener instead of sugar. Plus I went to farmers market this morning so I have plenty fresh fruit and veggies for the week.

  • Ok dance, I'll do it. I have been a chicken and haven't stepped on the scale in days. I'm really trying to get back on track. Don't know why it's so darn hard this time.
  • I hear ya' - after being super good and OP all July, I didn't do so well for the first week in august (a bunch of all day mtgs and work dinners didn't help). I'm up to 181 from my low of 179 on 8/1 I'm going to stick to plan like crazy the rest of the week and see if I can undo the damage. Wanna join me for miles tomorrow? I'm planning on running 3 in the am.

    ps - honey, you can do this! I've seen you do it - it's just hard to tap into the energy sometimes. Get out your goal jeans (or the equivalent) and imagine how happy you'll be to fit in them. Then throw out any junk food that has sneakily found it's way into your cupboard recently. And come back and tell us how it's going!
  • Hello ladies. Been away from the boards, working, working, and working! Today we are off, and guess what, we are working! laundry, cooking, dishes, hubby is cutting the grass before the heat index gets up to 115! Doing good with my blood sugar and eating, cheated a little last night, but nothing too bad. Gotta do dryer just buzzed! Have a blessed day.

    Burgundy - I'm back to 180 today but it seems like a long way away from my target for 9/1 of 173 - kinda thinking that may not happen Anyway, should be able to lose at least 4 or so by the end of the month, right? How about you? What is your goal by 9/1?
  • I feel like i've been gone forever. I hate using my phone but a month and a half later and my computer is finally fixed. wont be so mia anymore. was doing good in July and down4 pounds to 246. but then fell off as soon as august began and have been doin bad so far this month. was back up to 250 a couple days ago. =/ it's sooo frustrating just to eat out once or twice with the bf or family and see the poubds right back on =(

    But my scale broke and now i have no idea what im at, so i need to go get a new one. Im scared of the number it may show.

    im hopping back on the wagon today. all i've had is two medium sized chicken burritos for lunch and some frozen yogurt. Gonna go get in a swim for a couple hours til the pool at our complex locks up then enjpy a salad =]


    Temps gone from 100s all of July to mid 80s this month. I need to get back outside!

    Keller-Im in the same boat. I have just had a bad month so far and am up a few lbs. We gotta get back on track. Want to join me and Dance for daily weigh ins for a while, if you cant do daily then whenever you are on is good??

    Dance-I havent really set and target weights but I should. I just really want to get back to ticker weight. I was 190 this morning. I never wanted to see the 190s again. I know I dont want to see 200 again so I have to turn this around now.

    180 again today - am hoping to be back at 179 by the end of the weekend.

    Burgundy - what's your first mini-goal? Lose 1 to be back in the 180s?

    Keller - it's better to know what the number is and tackle it, and sooner is way better than later. Go get that new scale and come tell us what it says and then let's tackle it, all together.

    Anyone else want in?
  • Just tried my new barefoot running shoes this morning - what a weird sensation!

  • Went and got a scale first thing when i woke up. Shopko had 60% off so i got one i like, then maybe i'll use it more and have more reason to watch the numbers go down! Currently sitting at 251, so up one pound from last week but going back down now =] Thought it would be way worse so i'm not complaining.

    Burgundy- Do you do it through pm? I still don't know how to fully work this site lol It probably won't be everyday, but every other or three days.
  • Keller - we're just talking about daily weigh-ins through normal posts, not PMs or anything. Sorry to have been confusing - I think Burgundy and I are in the same boat of being above ticker and reluctant to raise our tickers as a way to get us to get back to where we were, if that makes sense. Congrats on your new scale and woohoo that it was only a lb off from your old one! When I bought a new scale two years ago, it was 5lbs above my old one and I about died. Numbers really mess with our heads, don't they?

    Walking to dinner with my bf (yep, he re-emerged after a moody absence) tonight and am pretty sure I can stay on plan at the restaurant. Happy Friday all!
  • Hello all! Weighed in this morning, stayed the same as last week, but no gain! Blood sugar is really good also. Working today in my hometown shop, hubby is in one of the other shops, HOT outside, VERY grateful for an air conditioned building and an inside job. Have a blessed day.
