  • OK I need address for most of you if you want a card from me! I have Bagzz and Kiwonks. I would love to send all of you a card and I am doing thm tonight. I am such a procrastanator. I am leaving in 3 or 4 days for cali. and havn't done a darn thing. I will do it all Wednesday night I am sure. Well if DH doesn't get a check we will not be going to Cali. this year. He is waiting to be paid a big check and we need it to buy gas and more gifts for family.
My e-mail address is[email protected] or PM me with addresses.
Hope to post later tonight, hugs, Brattie
  • So sorry to hear about Bagz' DD's and Lush's DS unwellness.

Personally I am suffering from wicked allergies and we don't even have a tree in the house. Probably it's from the exposed mildewing kitchen ceiling.

    Night
    Kiwi
  • Kiwi, how are the plans for the new house going? We can't have you living in a mildewy house. Have you decided between cream or oatmeal carpeting?

It is so rainy and gray here today that my Christmas lights came on at 7 am this morning. They are on a light sensitive timer that comes on at dusk. Apparently it can't tell the difference between night and day here either.
  • How depressing!
That is, it being so dark the Christmas lights come on! Although, that would make a good alarm clock. A little lighted tree on your nightstand with Christmas music and blinking lights. Wow, I think I just invented something!

Wellllll, Wabbit, we did have a septic guy (well, he wasn't actually septic himself, I don't think, ) come out and determine where we could put in a septic system and leach field. And we got the contour maps of the lot. That's it. We have some friends who are planning to build a log camp next summer, so that will provide a little friendly competition/motivation, I'm hoping. We need to spend some time picking out a houseplan and getting actual drawings and hire a contractor. Then I think it will have some momentum of its own. I suspect I will be living with the mildew for another year. I just hope it's not any longer than that. In a new house by Christmas, that would be nice.

I got a bunch more shopping done this afternoon after dropping DD off at her guitar lesson. Went to the Christmas tree shop where I bought my wreath and one for my parents last week, and bought several handmade adorable tree ornaments to send to my half-sisters and brothers. Then found a maple syrup store (who knew there was such a thing? ) and got a few more gifts. Wow, I'm so impressed with myself.

Where's Miss Peachpie? And Sugar Plum -- I saw her in the Nutracker so I realize she's busy this time of year

    Kiwi
  • Kiwipie what is a leach field? Please tell me it isn't a special place for leaches? Gross if it is and why?

  • Hello! I am frantically working on Christmas presents. I'm making them because I am an idiot. I hope to get cards out this coming weekend (and I hope to get cards in any time!) I'm still at the same Missouri address.

I have a headache. We had Tiger Cubs tonight and perhaps those are connected. Now I have more work to do.

    Also I am fat.

I will start checking in more often.
  • Wow, Brattie, what a show-off. Oh, wait, I see that you only marked six out of the 15 as done and one of those was to visit 3fcs. Ah, ha!
Cherry, you aren't assuming that checking in here will improve your weight loss outlook, are you? I think after all these years, we've proven that this doesn't work. Look at poor Brattie, she used to be neat now she's hanging around with us.
Kiwi, it makes me tired just to think of all you have to do to build a house. It will be worth it. Maybe your cute roofer could contract it for you? That would be entertaining for the rest of us.
Wabby, it is pretty dark and dank around here, too. My carpet is oatmeal, as you all know. Kiwi will have to make a no shoes rule to make it work. Flylady will not approve.
I am going to go do some more online Christmas shopping. Bye
    PS.
    here is my boring list:
    1. unload dw
    2.load dw
    3.shift wash
    4. trash out
    5. do something about dinner
    6. bathroom
    7. 10 min my room
    8. vac public areas
    9. dust house
    10. check in at 3fc's(hey, if the new girl can get away with it, why can't I???) xxx
  • I was never neat! I love having stuff all over the place too. My ex was a neat nick. I had to sweep every day, Mop after dinner, dust house on Fridays, laundry everyday,* couldn't have dirty clothing in the laundry room could I?*, bedroom kept spotless, bathrooms cleaned each day, house vacumned each day,etc... I was working full time and doing PTC stuff, was the treasures for a year with that even, all the food cooking, and the grocery shopping. Gee and he wonders why I left his lazy butt?
I need food. My stomach is grumbling......FOOD!!!!!
    Daphne
  • I thought the fact that DH is a slob in the house (never his shop) was a problem. Now I see that it would be much worse if he were a neatnik. Mop and sweep daily??? No wonder you left him!

Cherry, I'm making presents because I'm cheap. And ignore that comment from Lush about this place not helping in our weight loss efforts. We'd all weigh 300 pounds if it weren't for 3FC.

The sky is one shade lighter today. I'm trying to convince myself that it's cozy here in my office when it's stormy outside. And it really would be cozy if I was home baking Christmas cookies, but it's a little harder to convince myself when I'm here doing bookkeeping (OK, here hanging out on the computer).

I just finished a book called The Saving Graces by Patricia Gaffney. It was delightfully schmaltzy. About 4 middle aged girlfriends. So Lushy, what book on tape are you listening to?
  • Survival of the Fittest Jonathon Kellerman
  • You all
    are so entertaining.

No, Daph, a leach field differs from a leech field in that it leaches the contaminants out of water that has gone through your septic system, whereas a leech field is where you exercise your pet leeches .

Good to see you Cherry, wait'll you see my fat on our Christmas card Don't work too hard, kiddo.

Here's what I did today (it's more amusing than what I ought to be doing, so that's what you're getting):
    • 1:30 am Get ready for bed; swear I'm only going to spend 20 minutes on the computer before actually going to bed
    • 2:45 am - Give up looking for somewhere to order my favorite bra to replace the one whose wire broke and started poking me in the boob on the way to the Nutcracker
    • 3:00 am - Place bids on 2 bras on eBay. Pray they don't have sweat stains
    • 3:15 - go to bed
    • 4:00 am - give up trying to sleep due to runny nose, get up, take decongestant
    • 4:15 - Make DD's lunch so I can sleep in
    • 4:20 - Decide chips and salsa would be a good food for congestion, watch TV
    • 5:00 - Go to bed
    • 7:00 am - Get up, complain loudly, go back to bed
    • 7:05 - 2:00 - Sleep the sleep of the damned

That would be just my luck, Lush, to have that roofer show up again and ruin the roof on the new house. Nope, cute or not, he's on my ****list.

Daph, good move getting away from the tyrant . My sis has a DH who has to have everything absolutely spotless, but through some accident of nature and nurture, he learned how to do it himself. Bless him. I don't think I could live with his obsessive nature, but at least he's only torturing himself with it.

    Later, babes, I need soup.

  • Kiwi, I will be checking SO REGULARLY to find out more about the bras you order on EBAY?????? Are YOU NUTS??? DON"T YOU HAVE A MALL???? Go get a sleep apnea test. Herbie did. He woke up over 400 times during the night of the test. They said he would stop breathing for 45 seconds and wake up to start breathing again. Isn't that interesting?
  • and Lush thank you for being contrite.
  • herb sounds in bad shape---stop over some night, change the will and tinker with the time between breaths
  • No I don't have a mall. I live 75 miles from the nearest place where you can buy underwear. Okay????? And I'm not real keen on driving there right now because I don't have sleep apnea, I have a cold. I live in a total loser town where the latest casualty was the Ames Dept. Store, which went bankrupt, and closed and nobody wants to come in and take its place. You can't buy underwear, books, CDs, or shoes here, but if you should need a snowmobile or a decorative angel made out of deer snot, we are the place.
