Sher: I love the banner!!!!!!! You are such a dear for always taking such good care of us!!!!
Deb: Is that new Grandaughter here yet???? Give her a special hug from me.
Dee: Have you ever heard of Wonder Wine? It is produced in Canada and comes as a mix, you add the sugar and let it ferment to create your own wine.
We had a busy weekend!!!!! My dear husband has decided to become his own personal "brewmaster" we cooked the stuff on the stove all day Saturday and placed it in the special container. We have quite the set-up.... bottles, caps, a capper and so on. It will take about 5-6 weeks before we have the actual finished product. Sher: Tell Wayne to not worry about us running him out of business, after looking in the pot a few times on Saturday, it is going to take me awhile to work up the nerve to do a taste test when it is time. I am wanting to get a kit and start doing my own wine.
My daughter, Liz should be back late tonight from her student leadership conference in Chicago.... I talked to her each night on the phone, but as everyone knows dealing with a teenager, I could never tell if she was having fun or not.
I also had a nice surprise Saturday!!! A cousin stopped by that I had not seen for several years! We had a great visit! In fact, this was the first time she met Steve (right in the middle of our brew experience) I can just image what she went home and told her hubby who happens to be a police detective!!!
If any of you are catching bits & pieces on fox or court TV about the "carr trial" that is the murder case that I told you about. Court TV did not air it as originally planned because it took to long to select the jury. I know the other night there was a small piece about it on the O'rielly factor(??) The jury is currently out... the guys have over 90 counts against them. I guess someone is also writing a book about all of it.
Well, better go!!!! I need to pay bills and get a few other things done today!!!!
BTW: Any of you Christmas shopping yet? If so, any ideas that we could all use?
Debbie good luck today. I am so excited for you. Let us all know the good news as soon as the loving bundle is here. You are a giant compared to me. I only wish I had some of your legs. I don't have any....lol
Sherry as usual our banner is beautiful. I think it looks like we are a bunch of show girls ready to hit stage. Thanks for the intro.
Gayle I haven't heard of that type of wine here, there are so many. We have made many different wines, from red and white. They all seem to turn out wonderful. I think that the most important thing is to filter it and keep your glass full at all costs. lol
I have most of my christmas shopping done. Order half it out of a cataloge. I hate shopping with the crowds. I like to have it done by nov 25. Just a few of the toughies left.
Well I got to go my friends are coming over to pick me up for our walk. It is a balmy 26 out so I better go get my bicini on.
My precious little granddaughter was born this afternoon around 1 pm. She has the cutiest little face and surprised us all by weighing 7 pounds 7 oz. Mother, Dad and baby are all doing fine. They are going to name her after Cherie's great grandmother, Gretchen Cecilla, big name for such a little girl.
First of all, My weigh-in this morning was the same at 168 lbs. I didn't lose this week BUT I didn't gain either!!
Debbie~~~~ CONGRATS MEME!! Wow....3 grandGIRLS and 1 GrandBOY now!!! Do ya feel old??!! LOL!!!! Just more to love & spoil huh?! I'm happy for you!!!!
Gayle~~~~Making your own brew now huh?!!! I laughed so hard at your post.I can just imagine what your cousin told her police detective hubby!!! Let me know how it taste!! I bet you and hubby are a hoot!!! Your life is NEVER boring!!!!
Dee~~~~Oh my gosh....You're almost done shopping???!!!! I'm one of those who wait until the last minute!!! I know I'm kind of weird but I love the crowds and excitement during the Christmas shopping rush! It makes me in the mood for Christmas more.I'm like Gayle, I can see you now running in 26 degree weather in a bikini with ear muffs on!!! LOL!!! Thank you & Gayle for the compliments on my banners.Glad ya'll enjoy them!!
Ok now....CALLING ALL FLOOZIES!!!!!! Where are ya'll???????Hope everyone is ok and will post soon!!!! We miss you and need you back here with us!!!!!! Let us know if you are down...we promise to bring you back up!!!
I'm here! I'm here! Just struggling...it's TOM and my boobies feel like hot water balloons. Ugh.
I have had no -zero, zilch, none- motivation lately. The fact that my pants are tight doesn't even faze me. I don't know what I need to do to get it back. I have not worked out on my Bowflex once, and I've had it for two weeks. It is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE to relegate to a life of holding folded laundry!
Hi Floozies! Guess who??? Can I join back?? I've missed you all terribly! Thought about each one of you every day & missed ya! Sher's emails is what kept me going.
I haven't been dieting much but not gaining, thank goodness! Been running my butt off up & down the halls at work.
I'm trying to decide which diet will work best in my schedule right now. I bought the Sugar Busters book & looking over it. I may try Atkins again though.
OH MY GOSH.............It's WANDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have missed you soooooooo much!!!!!! {{{{{ HUGS }}}}} You have made my day!!!!! WELCOME BACK MY EVIL TWIN!!!!! Which ever plan you choose, remember we're always here for you!!!
Jennelle.........I'm so sorry to hear that you have lost your motivation.NOW........FIND IT BACK!!!! First things first: Start packing those great low-fat,low calorie lunches again AND every night do your Bowflex!!! Start out doing 10 minutes and every day add another 5 minutes.You can do it Jennelle!!! Don't give up!!! Be strong!!!! {{{ hugs }}}
Gotta get to work....just wanted to wish Wanda back and give Jennelle a little push!!
Later.....Have a great OP day!!!
Sherry (Sher-Bear)
WELCOME BACK WANDA!!!!! I just knew that you wouldn't be able to stay away from us forever!!!!!!
Sher: Actually our life out here in the "sticks" is pretty boring so we have to make our own fun. Steve is doing the beer and I have been reseaching what I need to get started making wine and cider. I just think that it is kinda cool that we can "create" such a thing at home. On my christmas list I have added a "corker" so I can professionally seal my product. Hic**up**
Dee: How's the weather today? Are you still wearing that bikini or did it warm up enough your walking in the buff???
Shelley: Where, oh where, are you???? Are you ok???
Ramona: Are you still having problems getting on? Check in if you can.
Vickster: Did you fly away with MIL this past Halloween????
Let us know how's life!!!!
Deb: Give that new bundle of joy a big SMOOCH from "Auntie Gayle" in Kansas!!!! CONGRATS!!!!
To all of my other buddies: Please keep us updated!!!
Busy day ahead, paying bills, working on some at home and business stuff, committee meeting tonight for one of the clubs that we are members of. Daughter made it back late last night from Chicago, that was kinda a relief. As teens go, I really can not tell if she had fun or not...
Debbie congratulations. That's a good size baby. How special little ones can be. How many children do you have Debbie?
Wanda glad to have you back. Please try to post everyday and we will try to keep you motivated.
Sherry I love the crowds to but not if I have to stand in line. We go when it gets busy just to people watch or to pick out our cards or something small. By the way did you get my pics? Will you be able to post them for me?
Jennelle hang in there. I know how it is not to be motivated. I am not sure where it even comes from. I haven't been very motivated this year. Get it for a few days and then it is gone. Let's try to kick this thing together.
Yesterday was a very rough day for me emotionally. Mom has had an infection in her arm for 10 days. She was on antibiotics but they didn't work. Her infection was getting worse the last few days. It is from her elbow to wrist and wraps itself half way around arm. The dr told here that the cancer clinic gave her the wrong type of meds to fight this type of infection. He wanted her to go to hospital until infection was gone. They would administer drugs with iv. She really didn't want to do that because her sister arrives today for 2 weeks to help her out. He told her that she could take a perscription and stay home but it will take longer to clear up. That's what she chose. Her dr warned her thought that even a paper cut could kill her in less than 24 hours because she has no immune system. He doesn't even want her using any type f cleanners because she will inhale some of it and could get pnemonia. She is walking such a fine line. It is scarey.
Yesterday we had our family meeting. Things didn't go all that well with Jay over the last 2 weeks but I was in no shape to make a decision that night if he had to go. I just broke down crying because f mom. The counsilor asked the kids what they could do for me on a emotional level and they both said that I shouldn't worry about it because it won't shange anything. She said to them that is not what I asked you I asked you what kind of emotional support can you give your mom. they both came back with an attack. she asked me if that felt like support I said no. She said that is pretty pathetic you can't even so something for your mom. Well Jay said I not gonna hug her if that is what she wants. It just got worse from there. Kids just don't understand. We tried to relate it to him by if his girlfriends mom was sick what would he do to support girlfriend but that didn't work. I am so sad that we raised our kids like that. I don't know where we went wrong.
Oh well I have done enough crying now i need to head out in my bikini and ear muffs to get my flu shot.
I do have some really esciting news for you all and no I am not pregnant I will post it soon.
Hi Everyone! I have been here and reading your posts. I have just still been depressed about everything. I was however able to jog yesterday with no accidents. I don't think I'd be able to do it today, though.
Wanda-Glad to see you back!
Debbie-Congratulations, Grandma. You have quite a brood going!
Deby-Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a good one.
Dee- I hope that your mom starts getting better soon. I am still praying for her on Friday nights.
Jennelle-I haven't been very motivated lately. I am so afraid that my butt is going to start widening again.
Sherry-Good for you that your weighin showed no gain!
Gayle-Just how much of that brew have you been drinking???
Hey Shelley!!! Your alive!!!!!!! I have been worried about you! Sorry to hear that you are still not feeling good...are you taking your meds? I fight bouts of depression every so often, I really have not found anything that works to ease the mood, just after a few weeks I seem to snap back out of it. Remember that we are here for you!!!
Dee: I am so sorry that your children treat you the way that they do. I really do not know what to say to you other then to let you know that you are always free to vent here. I wish you the best with your kids and regardless how we raise them, they soon take on their own personalities and traits. I am saying extra prayers for your mom, hopefully she will decide to go to the hospital if the infection seems to not be improving.
Oh ya.... hmmmmm...what could the exciting news be..... not prego????......hmmmm...really a man that has been hitting on us sexy women??????.........
Hi everyone. I thought I better quit lurking and start posting before you kick me out of the floozie club!
Debbie: Congrats on your precious new granddaughter! What a wonderful Christmas you will have!!!
Sherry: Way to go on keeping the weight off. You are doing a fantastic job. Keep it up!
Shelley: I'm glad you got to jog yesterday. Maybe every day will get a little better and you will be back strong and healthy soon!
Jennelle: I know how it is to get discouraged and complacent. When I get that way, I like to write down my goals and the reasons I have for wanting to get healthy. It's just a suggestion, but it seems to help. Hang in there!
Wanda: It's so nice to have you back. We need you to stay in contact so you can keep Sherry and Gayle in line!!
Gayle: My hubby has an uncle who made his own wine and beer back in the 50's. One day, the minister came to call and they were sitting outside on a hot, hot day when suddenly they began to hear all of this popping noise coming from the shed. The libations had gotten too hot and all the corks started blowing off the bottles!!! The minister was not amused
Dee: I'll just reiterate the things I wrote in the e-mail. We cannot blame ourselves for the decisions our children make. They have to take responsibility at some point. I think I've finnaly learned that.
Vicki: How ya doin? Don't be a stranger, we need all the floozies present and accounted for!
Debyj: Did you ever hear anything on your job, or did I just miss it? You've been too quiet girl!
I'm still doing pretty well with getting back on track. I've lost 7 or 8 pounds and feel good about the progress I'm making. I'm going to a Home Interiors party tonight. I don't need anything, but I so rarely get to be with other women that I'm going just for the fellowship.
I found out Sunday night that both of my boys will probably be deployed in January. Dan was told to be ready to go either to Iraq or Korea and Ben will go to either Turkey or Afghanastan.
Call me crazy, but I may put my tree up in a couple of weeks. This will be the first time in 3 years both boys will be home at the same time and I want to savor every moment. It may be many years before we are all together again.
