Default Steel Magnolias #38

Good wet morning all. We have showers moving through today so no swimming for T and I. He starts school on Monday so bummer didn't even get the lowdown on his classes and such. Though he is only in 5th grade this year, it is his last year before he goes into JR high and he will switch schools next year. As BMOC, they change classes at least some this year so he has sort of a homeroom teacher I believe. We will just have to get him over here for a sleepover and take him out to dinner soon.

I hope you try the broccoli slaw and let me know how you like it. Jack doesn't eat slaw at all and I could never eat that much so I don't know when I would make it but it sure sounds tasty. A very different way to use broccoli and no waste either. Oh and the reason she uses the mayo she does is she said the reduced fat stuff has preservatives so you can use ff or reduced fat if you like. I found some great recipes on the WW site to give us some more variety. Jack is so picky about stuff I have to try things he will eat so most casseroles or pasta mixed dishes are out. I have a great recipe I love for a ground beef and rice casserole. I used to feed it to the kids all the time because it was inexpensive and went a long way but Jack won't eat it so I don't ever eat it. I am not sure I can even find the recipe anymore. It was on the bottom of one of those preformed pie shells. It had rice and burger and celery and onions and a-1 and tomato sauce and baked in a crust with cheese slices melted on top. I used to forego the pie shells and just make the casserole and the kids loved it.

I am going up and shower in just a bit and a little later go over and get my nails done. I haven't done that in awhile as I like to take the acryllics off and let my nails "rest" before I wear them again. I haven't had them in about 3 months now so time to get them done again before vacation next month.

We are finally rid of the pain of a former mayor it looks like. The incumbent democratic congressman who is a two termer, is white and a jew. People really like him and the guy running against him was our 5 term, crook of a ex mayor who decided not to run for mayor again, even resigned before his term was up to run for congress. The guy is truly a racist pig and ran a totally race platform. He never talked about the issues just that Memphis needed a black man in congress not a white jew. He went after Cohen's religion and was just reprehensible. Well, I guess even the blacks were fed up with him as he lost by over 80%! I really wanted him to not only lose but be humiliated because he ran such a disgusting campaign and it sure came out that way. Unfortunately, this was our primary so as a republican, I wouldn't have been able to vote for either of these gentlemen anyway, but public opinion was so against him that a lot of republicans actually went democrat for this primary just to vote for Cohen so slick willie as he is known here wouldn't get the position. He is already hinting around that the vote was hinky in some way but it isn't going to get anywhere. Tennessee has laws on the books regarding when you can claim voter recounts and such and at an 80% loss he just doesn't cut it. When my kids were little and Jack was still in the Navy and we lived here this guy was our school superintendent. I hated him them and the feelings haven't changed. You wouldn't believe some of the things he has done as mayor that really have screwed up the city.

Talked to my sister last night and things are hot in Indiana too but not as bad as it is here. We have more days of above 100 degree temps for the next week to look forward to. The rain increases humidity instead of dropping temps so you dread everytime it rains here lately though you know we need it.

I guess I better get hopping, get chores done and get out and get some errands run. Tomorrow is commissary day and Jack is back on WW so we need lots more fruits and veggies and stuff to incorporate him. His cardiology appt went well and no problems there so that is good. Have a great weekend all! faye

Good Afternoon, Flowers! Our sunshine just disappeared and there are some dark clouds in the west. It was supposed to be sunny, hot, and more humid today. Bob is playing in a golf tournament today so I won't see him until after they feed them a steak supper tonight. I met with the volunteer coordinator this morning and "toured" the new gift shop which is now considerably smaller and incorporated into the coffee shop area. The door is a metal roll up one like the mall stores have and she warned me not to let it close with me inside or I would be locked in! Tomorrow is my first day to work and I don't anticipate any business: 1) because it hasn't been open on Sat. since January, and 2) unless someone comes in the front door they won't see that the lights are on and the door open. The employees were my biggest customers and the admitting desk, lab door, and emergency room door is around the corner out of sight. Then I had my mammogram, bone density test, went to the po, ss office, grocery store for what I forgot yesterday, and home again. I thought I was so smart to get my errands done this morning so I wouldn't have to go back out in the heat this afternoon.

Maggie -- I hope you get your Jeep tags sooner rather than later. Our neighbor has had a new SUV which has been in the shop more than in their garage. The windows will roll down or up by themselves, the windshield wipers will go at random, and I don't know what else happens. Of course the garage keeps trying to fix it -- I think the computer is smarter than the technicians in this case! We made the ice cream last night just to save having to haul everything to the lake tomorrow. We licked the paddle . . . ! Thanks for sharing the broccoli recipe. I've never heard of Greek yogurt but I don't eat yogurt unless it is in something else. It sounds delicious!

Susan -- I hope you like your new bathing suit. I wish EVERYONE would use the same sizing so when I order or try on clothes I know they should fit. Everything in the gift shop is new so it will be fun to look around tomorrow. There are coffee shop tables in front of some of the displays so I couldn't really see much this morning. That was a dumb move imo!

"Gma" -- I'm sorry you and Thomas didn't get together for one last swim. Wll you volunteer at his school again this year? Your hamburger/rice dish sounds good. If you happen to find the recipe would you share please? Thanks for starting the new thread!

Hope you all enjoy your day today!

Jean -- from Iowa!

Talking Finally Friday

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

I got my charm order yesterday and took the two tags to the engraver to have the girls names put on them. He said he will deliver them this afternoon because he has some errands to run and it will save us a trip into town. I am glad I decided to go ahead and order the charms for them since they were on such a good sale. We did go to the museum today to pick up one of those old wardrobe cabinets that folks used before houses came with closets. They were going to send it to the dump and Will can use it outside under the shelter to store some of his stuff. It came with lots of homemade padded hangers that we tossed because they are so old who knows what bugs have made homes inside of them. Will is out back making shelves to install inside it as I type. We got our truck back so we shall see how it works now.

DONNA FAYE Your weather is not to be envied at all. The south is burning up with heat. Please keep cool and away from that heat if possible. Sorry it rained and you didn't get your swim with T. He sure is growing fast ~ 5th grade already. Will doesn't eat broccoli either so I don't think I will be making that dish but to me it looked yummy. He eats most other kinds of veggies and food so I don't mind him not liking broccoli a bit. What a dirt bag you had for a mayor. Throw the bum out and he doesn't deserve a recount the horried racist.

JEAN Sounds like they put that gift shop in a place where folks have to hunt for it. Bet licking that ice cream maker paddle tasted yummy. I would bet that your neighbors SUV needs a new computer installed. BTW that broccoli recipe was from Donna Faye ~ not me. But I do like Greek yogurt or yogurt cheese which is made by draining the regular kind. To drain yogurt I place a coffee filter in a strainer and put it over a bowl which I set in the sink then dump a container of yogrut in it and in a little while the clear liquid that is drained out can be dumped in the sink and the yogurt cheese comes off the coffee filter with ease. If you set the strainer with yogurt in it in the fridge overnight to drain it comes out real thick.

SUSAN You will be stilin' in that new bathing suit.

Well Magnolias I must go get something out of the freezer to thaw for dinner. Type at y'all later.

Good evening, ladies! Went to the Y and worked out on the machines. The young man in charge of that room gave me a form to have the doctor fill out and fax back and he will design a prescriptive exercise program for me - at no charge! Sure can't beat that. I watched the water aerobics class after I finished and drooled. Can't wait for my suit to get here. I got an email they shipped it yesterday.

Glory and I went to Happy Belly for Chicken Kebobs, rice, and salad. I brought half home for tomorrow. Then we got together and swapped the secret sisters so I can pass them out next week at the guild meetings. We tried to match people with similar interests so it got to be quite a job.

I went to the dollar store today and got school supplies for church and Y donation boxes. They asked for crayons, washable markers, colored pencils, a box of #2 pencils, composition books, glue sticks and erasers.

Faye, sorry you missed your last swim with Thomas. School here doesn't start until Sept. 7 but the teachers go back in 2 weeks. I'll cut the broccoli slaw recipe down and just make a couple of servings. I usually keep a bag of it around to add to soup and salads or I put fat-free ranch on it. I'm getting pretty good at making recipes smaller so I don't have to eat it forever.

Jean, good luck in the gift shop. I hope they post signs around the hospital that you are open.

When we get old quilts or antique quilts, we put them in a trash bag and freeze them for a few days. Kills any varmits hiding in them.

Time for Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, so y'all have a good evening.

Talking Later

BACK TO SAY A FEW WORDS BEFORE BED

I just gotta tell ya what happened. The man delivered those tags I left to have engraved and he was so upset. His helper had done them and had put FOCUS on the front and the girls names on the back. I had that done with mine quite awhile back so the dummy just decided to go ahead and do that to those two also without being told. I had even written down what I had wanted on the front side. I wanted the back left blank so they could put what they want on them one day. Anyway the owner who deliverd them said if I would order a couple more tags he would pay for them and not charge me for the engraving. If these were for WW friends they would be fine with the FOCUS on them but not for two little girls. Maybe I will run across a couple of WW ladies with the names that match the ones on the tags and I will give them to them. I just can't believe that guy just took it upon his self and engraved the fronts like that with the names on the back. I hope the owner charges him for the charms when I give him the bill. Now I am going to go to bed.

Type at y'all later

Good morning to you all! Sounding like a broken record, but it is going to be above 100 today and we joy of joys have commissary and other grocery errands to run. I have to get some fresh shrimp and scallops and the commisary doesn't have a seafood shop. I found a couple of interesting recipes in the WW database.

Jean: Why don't they just put the gift shop to rest or just make it a plain for lack of better words, convenience store with soda, snacks and such for the staff since they put it in such a ridiculous place? I would have to be desperate to buy something at a hospitcal gift shop because of the expense, but they I think people that do it are usually desperate because they are "trapped" so to speak with no gift for the sick one. How do you like driving your new car? I will try and find the recipe for you. It is years and years old so I don't know if I still have it anywhere but I remember most of the ingredients. I thought the slaw recipe sounded interesting. There is nothing weird about the greek yogurt and a lot of people prefer it. You don't get it in the bazillion flavors, just the plain and like Maggie said, it is basically regular yogurt that has been strained through cheesecloth so it is denser. I like flavored yogurts and putting them in things both. My favorite is the ff yoplait yogurts. They have great flavors besides just plain ole fruit.

Susan: My swimsuit is supposed to be shipped the end of next week and I can't wait to get it. I sure hope it fits as I won't have time to send it back and have them make another one. I am enclosing a pic. It shows it with and without the little skirt. The shirt comes down mid thigh so it is nice coverage to walk out to the pool, etc. I have always been a, "dam the torpedos full steam ahead" kind of gal with regards to a swimsuit. I don't like the skirt ones because the skirt floats when you try and swim and such so I just buy regular suits and to heck with what I look like. I guess I am not subconscious about my size very much so with me, I don't give a darn if people stare or not. Besides, they stare at Jack with me just as much because of the huge pink scar that runs from neck to belly on his chest. We have learned to deal with rude ignorant people. I think the leg style suits would be great to swim in and when I am smaller would definitely consider them. They fit snug to the body and kind of hold the loose skin in place I would imagine.

Maggie: What a dumb thing to do with the charms. Why didn't the owner just make the guy make you a new set if they weren't what you wanted? It is only good business. Hope you like the recipe if you ever make it. I thought it sounded pretty good. I am like you though, even if I made it cut down like Susan does, I am not sure I would use all the broccoli up before it went bad. I am not a big fan of broccoli florets and Jack says they taste like sand! lol

I am pretty well set with stuff for vacation as long as the clothing I ordered fits. I ordered the most adorable flip flops from LL Bean yesterday for just $20 a pair. They aren't the ordinary ones, but the more sturdy kind you can wear like sandals and the thong part is made of canvas so it is nice and sturdy and they have a wider strap than regular flip flops. I bought a pair that the thong is white and buttercup yellow with little pieces of colored hard candy on it and a pair with aqua and white canvas and navy blue whales on it. I am going to be stylin'! lol

Well, sounds like Jack is finished in the bathroom so my turn to get cleaned up. The valve broke on the toilet downstairs so we have to get that today along with a big bill of groceries so it is going to be a longggggggg day I think. Have a good one all Faye

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

DONNA FAYE He couldn't just make the guy make me new ones because they don't carry those tags. I order them from a company that gets them from a 100 year old retired army man that makes them. I ordered two yesterday and the owner of the shop where I have the engraving done will pay for them and then pass the charge on to the man who made the mistake.

Be back later ~

Good morning, ladies. It's a nice 84 degrees today.

Went to WW today and just maintained. Hopefully the exercise will kick in and get it down next week.

Faye, nice suit! I've always been self conscious because I have so much lose skin my legs and arms. The suit I ordered is made for exercise and a little tighter than most suits. It is also chlorine resistant. Fortunately I just have a short list for groceries this week. Kroger has Smart Ones for $1.88 and I have a $4 off coupon for 10. I like to keep some on hand for when I don't feel like cooking or lunch at work.

Maggie, what a stupid thing for the engraver to do! He should certainly pay for those charms.

Glory and I are going to tea this afternoon. Then we'll probably look in the shops. More fun!

Have a great day!

Talking Saturday ~ Hot Today

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

Back now from taking care of a few things. Will did some mowing earlier this morning and I hear the sprinkler going for it is hitting my window. A beautiful hot day is coming our way but not nearly as opressive as Donna Fayes area. I am going to rotisserie a chicken for dinner and have some of the left over stew for lunch which is in the freezer. We always eat out on Sunday so I don't have to do any planning for tomorrow. We have been getting lots of good tomatoes out of the garden that taste so good. I am surprised I didn't get any of those little cracks in the side of my mouth like I did as a child from eating so many. I love fresh tomatoes and my grandpa grew the best. He grew the juciest peaches also. Had quite a nice orchard. Ragg Mopp is lazy on these hot days and doesn't like outside at all but he is always ready to go for a ride since he sits in the middle back there and gets the air conditioner blowing on him. When he has to go outside he does what he needs to do and then right back in. No exploring the yard in these hot days. I am thinking we should buy him a pool to wade in like he had out in CA.

JEAN Hope you are having fun out at the lake. Stay safe and use lots of mosquito repellent. The folks that receive the Jeep papers will just take their sweet time to let the DMV here know they have them. They won't even call us so Will has to keep checking with them. Meanwhile we just drive the truck and are happy to have it.

SUSAN for that maintain. What fun you have with your friend Glory. Since restaruants serve such big portions it is neat to bring half home for another go-round. Most of the time I ask for a to go box when my food is served and package up half of it before I even start eating. I do eat all of the salad though. Yep, the owner said he would pay for the charms and the engraving. The charms should be here by next Tuesday and then . . . he will do it right this time.

DONNA FAYE I don't envy your trip this day shopping. Hope the stores you visit are well air-conditioned and you don't have to walk a long way after parking to enter them. Bummer you have plumbing problems. It is sad that folks can be so rude. My mom always said that when you point a finger at someone else you are pointing 3 back at you.

Have a lovely weekend Magnolias Type at you later.

Good morning all! Haven't even peeked outdoors this morning but it is supposed to be over 100 again today so what we have to do to be outdoors we want to do early if possible.

Yesterday was busy busy. We left at 8 am and didn't get home again until after 3. We did go to the commissary and come home, unloaded, put all away, separated stuff and repackaged then out we went again. We got some beautiful scallops and shrimp, but I did leave it for Jack to do while I was doing something else so he bought shrimp and doesn't know if it has to be peeled and deveined or not! {{{sigh}}} We are having the shrimp with butter garlic sauce (ww recipe) tomorrow so I guess I will find out. I may take them out and check them today later on. Jack bought the thingy for the stupid toilet, which he says he has already replaced once, then he replaced it yesterday so it is working properly again. We have all our food goodies for the next couple weeks so we are all set.

Today is laundry and then we are going to go out and get the car washed and cleaned out.

Maggie: My mom was allergice to tomatoes and pineapple. She would get like cankor sores in her mouth when she would eat either of them so I imagine you are a bit allergic too. I love nice big red juicy summer tomatos. Nothing better than sliced tomato with a little salt. I like tomatoes with onions and marinated in italian dressing or an italian vinegarette too.

Susan: Oooh a tea. How fun that sounds. I imagine you had a great time. I completely understand about the suit coverage and I know you look forward to getting it. All the stuff I have ordered for our vacation is being shipped now so I look forward to lots of presents coming in next week! lol I got a super deal with the stuff I bought from Land's End. I bought 2 beautiful plush beach towels which are 6 1/2 feet long, a cute reversible navy and bright yellow beach bag, and water shoes I can wear into the ocean. I saved $75 with buying on sale items and got free shipping. The savings paid for my two pair of flip flops and two new playtex bras I bought on sale at just my size. I ordered two bright orange and white striped umbrellas that hook to our canvas chairs so we can sit at the ocean and not get sunburned. I am not paying $66 a day for one of their stupid beach lounge chairs.

Well, Fortune is barking to be let out so I better get out of here. Have a wonderful day all! Faye

Talking

Good Morning, Flowers! It was a late night for us and we slept in this morning, which made it too late for early church. It's going to be hot and humid for a few days; I won't complain though! Yesterday was terribly windy at the lake; the kids had a good time swimming but we couldn't take the boat out. Will left late in the afternoon because he has to work today; Beth volunteered to keep Ian and Zowie overnight, which in turn, made it later for Jason, Amanda, and us to leave for some reason. I tried to get here yesterday, on Beth's laptop, but for some reason all I could do was check my email.

Last night when we got home it was dark. Ernie was ptiching a fit at the back door and when I turned on the light there was a baby skunk eating the old cereal I had put out for the birds. He was kind of cute -- I thought all skunks had one white stripe down the middle of their back. This one had 2 white stripes with black in the middle! Bob went out this morning and there is a hole in the rocks going under the deck, so he filled it in and we will listen tonight to see if the skunk digs his way out. I won't be feeding the duck, birds, bunnies, and squirrels for a few days.

Maggie -- I was the only customer in the gift shop yesterday. I only stayed for an hour and a half -- figured it was a waste of my time. The gift items are more expensive things imo that one would buy to give outside of the hospital. All of the small patient friendly things are gone. I know that there are women who come in to shop for something different than what the Hallmark store would carry. There were no mosquitoes at the lake yesterday; I think the wind blew them north! That is too bad about the charm mix-up. It's a good thing you didn't need them right away.

Susan -- The personalized Y exercise sounds like it will be just great for you! I just have to when you mention eating at the Happy Belly. on the maintain! I hope the tea and shopping was fun yesterday!

"Gma" -- The gift shop is/was a major fund raiser for the Auxiliary. They use the money to buy needed items for the hospital over and above what is budget approved. We used to have a HUGE Christmas bazaar, but that went by the wayside because no one would chair it any more -- too much work. I do like driving the Encore as it is much heavier than the car and just feels safer. It is bigger so I don't have as much wiggle room in my side of the garage. It sounds like you will be going on vacation in style! I like your bathing suit and the flip flops sound so cute! I'm surprised at the charge for renting an umbrella/chair! You'd think they would be included in the cost of the room.

My dryer is buzzing so need to change loads. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Jean -- from Iowa!

Good afternoon, ladies! Hot and humid in the 90s today.

I'm doing laundry, mopping, vacuuming and kitchen cleaning today so I can go to applique tomorrow with a clear conscious. I'm going to take my lunch with me instead of going out for the lunch break - safer.

My swimsuit came yesterday and I'm very happy with it. Takes care of my flabby thighs nicely and gives me a nice shape.

Jean, it's a shame the gift shop has done that. They'd make a lot more money with some lower priced things in this economy.

Maggie, Enjoy your meal out.

Have a great day.

Faye, you'll be the bell of the beach with all your bargain purchases. I love getting a bargain.

Talking Sunny Hot Sunday

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a hot one here today. It is 107 at the airport and we are always a couple digets hotter than there and our thermometer says so. We had a good time at church today and the gal that does Will's and my hair came with her fiance along with one of her sons. They liked it there and said they will be back. He owns a construction business and she owns the beauty shop. They will be getting married in Hawaii in October ~ 10-10-10 We would go but, alas, being poor folk, we can't afford the trip and stay over. We were planning on going on our trip to purches meat tomorrow but it will be too hot so we are going when it cools down a bit. Not like we don't have any in the freezer. I brought home 2/3 rds of my lunch today and it is in the freezer to stay until Will works at the museum again and is gone at meal time.

JEAN That skunk was probably a civet. Civets have the two white stripes but are of the same family as skunks. There are several varities of skunks. I am sorry the wind kept you off the lake. Kids can swim and not notice the wind.

DONNA FAYE Yep marinated tomatoes are yummy. You are right I could have an alergy but since I am grown up I have never eaten so many tomatoes in one sitting as I did when I was a kid. I think probably if anyone ate that many they would get some kind of reaction. All that acid. I am going to marinate some this day.

SUSAN Glad you are happy with your new swimsuit. You be stilin'. Sounds like you have a good plan of taking your lunch so to stay OP easier and applique tomorrow with a clear conscious.

Have a great afternoon Magnolias

BTW ~ Will found such a neat web site that lets you download movies then burn them on a disk. It is legal He found that old 40's movie by Disney called "Song of the South." I have been wanting a copy of that movie but no where have we been able to find it to purchase. It cost $22.50 to join which allows you unlimited downloads. Unlimited means we can burn as many movies as we want and they have old ones and new ones and lots to choose from.

Type at y'all later ~

Good morning to you all! Boy it was hot again yesterday. We had to do a couple errands yesterday so got out early and back home very early and stayed inside. The heat is particularly hard on me as is excess cold so I really try and stay instide when it is in the 90's or above unless I really have things I want to get done.

I set up my WW for today except for my snacks and those I will fit into the day as I need them. I have some of those full bars and I am thinking of trying one of those in the evening with a couple glasses of water to keep me full in the evening when I want to snack. I think they are only 2 pts if I remember right and well worth it if it keeps me from wanting to munch.

I am down another .5 this week, which is fine with me. I was a bit sloppy this week because I hadn't bought groceries and we ate out a couple times too. I am into my second set of 10 lbs which is terrific for me.

Maggie: 10-10-10 is my husband's 61st birthday! It is too bad you can't attend. I know the two of you would so enjoy it. I have lots of old tv shows and movie dvds. I loved Sandra Dee movies so have a ton of her and Bobby Darrin movies. I have every "I Love Lucy" episode ever made plus a few of the other lucy shows she made. I have a bunch of Ozzie and Harriet programs too. Jack is a John Wayne collector and has quite a few of his. He was on Saturday with a marathon that is going on every Saturday in August. I like John Wayne in non military movies, but not so much wiht the military ones. I still have a movie I bought several months ago I haven't even cracked the cellophane on. It is a kids/adult combo movie, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Remember when we were all discussing jicama and what you could do with it. Well, I watch the tv show "Chopped." This last Saturday one of the ingredients for the main course was jicama and one of the guys made like a fried hash brown type patty using jicama. The judges raved about it. Wonder what that tasted like.

Susan: Yeah, so glad the suit fits and you like it. I can't wait until they ship my stuff. She said she would be shipping this week sometime. I am sitting here typing out posts and trying to watch this movie on tv about the assassination of the president and a secret service agent (Cuba Gooding Jr) and a journalist (Angie Harmon) trying to figure out the conspiracy. It is almost over and it is at the fight part where the killer is trying to kill Harmon and Gooding. Ahh!!!!! Right wins again, Gooding just drowned him! I guess I should have waited until the movie was over so I didn't miss anything. It still isn't over because the true person behind the killer I believe is a woman, the president's wife. The question is why and somehow I missed the why. I know he was protecting the president's image because he wanted him to be remembered as a good president, but I sure did miss something in the movie. I missed the first half hour so that might have been why. lol

Jean: Did you decide not to buy the Enclave? I thought you guys were buying one of those. Of course, maybe I am nuts, wouldn't be the first time I misread something! lol Didn't the auxilary head honchos have any say in what they were going to do with the gift shop? They had to have known it would totally kill sales. It is too bad, really but people these days just can't afford to spend money willy nilly like they used to.

First day of fifth grade! Looks a little sleepy doesn't he? I imagine getting into a routine again will be a little tough, but I am sure he is looking forward to being back to school.

I better get out of here. I have a lot I want to accomplish today and need to get it done in the early morning before it gets too hot. Have a good start to your week all. Faye

Talking Moody Monday

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

I slept in and it sure felt good so I must have needed it. It is fixin' to be a hot one here in the Heartland this day and I am staying inside. Will is out doing some shopping and mailing some books. I am going to get a grip this week for I let it slip last week and showed a gain which disturbes me for losing my grip. I should have known better but now that is in the past I can improve my behavior this week. I do so want to lose weight and must get about doing it and quit playing with it. I know I can do this thing. I will concentrate and keep my FOCUS. That is a promise to myself.

DONNA FAYE for your loss. : Every bit counts when going down the right direction. Good for you getting your WW stuff all in a row. We are getting the movies we really liked and especially the ones we can no longer find. We lost a lot of our favorite movies when we moved. Will also likes John Wayne and his cowboy movies. I actually was able to tell that to John when we had that conversation at the airport after he bought me a coke and we sat down and had a nice chat waiting for the plane to leave we were watching. He was watching a friend fly away and I was watching a prisoner and had to wait and see that plane take off. Fried jicama sounds interesting and I will try it. I think I will fry it in olive oil spray when I do. I will never fry avocados though.

JEAN & SUSAN Howdy to the two of you.

Every one have a lovely afternoon. Type at y'all later
