Good Morning, Flowers! I am growing webbed toes!!!!!! Another morning of rain and wind. I need to run some errands but will wait and hope the rain quits later. I need to start my MN lists today and vacuum again. I threatened to turn on the heat this morning . . . it's 60 degrees outside and feels damp/chilly inside.
Maggie -- You know, you could share some of your nice weather! I will have to look for a Mandolin slicer. For no more than I would use it, it would probably be a better deal than a food processor.
"Gma" -- I would be upset about Fortune getting away from you too! Ernie is very curious about the garage but so far hasn't ventured out after his experience when we first got him. I'm sure I could coax him out, but don't want to take the chance since Bob often leaves the doors open when he is putzing out there. Bob is Mr. Tidy House and always puts his stuff back where it belongs. I'm the one who is lax about that sometimes. I'm with you; my idea of camping is the Holiday Inn and the nearby restaurant!
Susan -- I know you are having fun at your "bee in Bella" today.
I need to get my "to do" day started. Hope you all have a marvelous Monday with nicer weather than we are having!
It is a day in the 70's here in the heartland. Nice and the grass is growing. I haven't started my to do list yet this day but I will surely get to it when I get off of this computer. I ended up ordering some more charms for my bracelet and have to stop that. I kept finding ones that fit with my journey to thin and now I will have so many I do believe I'll have almost two in each link. But it all tells a story. I did show a pound up this day but that is par for the course because I remember when I know absolutely know I had a good week I used to on occasion show a pound up. Just a bump in the road to thin which I will get past. Will is at the shop where we get coffee ~ can't run out of that. I didn't want to "go with" so here I am.
DONNA FAYE Sometimes a gal just has to do what she does to make it as she wants at home. Jean has a neat husband and mine is in between yours and hers. Will does't majorly leave things out but on occasion. . .If I lived closer I would join you in swimming. I sure miss not having a pool or the ocean. It is such good exercise for sure.
JEAN I do think you would like a Mandolin for they cost so much less than a food processor and do the job. Since you aren't much of a cooking enthusiast, you probably don't need to purchase the much more spendy processor. Earnie is a neat cat for not bounding for open doors. He likes his home where he feels secure.
SUSAN Having a good time are ya? Bet so.
Time to get a move on and get my chores done. Type at y'all later.
Good morning ladies! We had an evening and night of it last night. Our programmable thermostat kept shutting off the ac last night. We didn't notice it until around 5 pm and Jack fooled with it and got it back on, but then I woke up at 11:30 and it was stifling in the house and it had shut off again and the thermostat had itself set at 85 so I lowered it again and then when I got up at 4:30 it was off again. Jack is going to have to fool with it and find out what is going on with it. I hate the stupid thing and wish we had just bought a plain ole thermostat when we bought the thing several years ago. It does say "reset" on it with a littl hole beneath the word so I am wondering if you can just reset the whole unit if you stick something through the little hole. We need to go through our warranty folder and find the booklet for the thing I guess. I even took out the batteries and reinserted them last night hoping it would reset everything, but obviously it didn't.
Jean: Boy, what we would give for your weather right now. Exactly when are you guys going to MN? I know it is not in the too distant future. Seems like the north has cooler weather this year and we have much hotter weather than usual. We usually don't get into the 90's until at least July. Poor Fortune is feeling the heat too. He is always wanting to go outside and sniff around on the deck, but it is so hot out there he comes back in just panting. I try and keep his water bowl with ice in it so it is nice and cool for him and having him lay in front of the fan.
Maggie: I can honestly say neatness is not one of Jack's virtues, but after all these years of marriage I do have him "trained up" a bit. He is bad about not putting things back when he uses them though like tools and such. Ahh well, I have my faults too, isn't that right? lol
I have to go to the Ford dealership this morning and have something done to the Mariner. We got this letter saying because of a possible issue they need me to bring it in so they can reprogram the powertrain control module. So, Jack made an appt for me this morning at 8 and I have to be there by 7:30, yawn so have to scurry around this morning and shower and dress and get out of here by around 7 or so. I hate having to go places early in the morning.
Well, I hear Jack is up so I am going to get out of here and take my meds and make some breakfast. Have a great day all! Faye
Good Morning, Flowers! Another cool cloudy day in my neighborhood, but it's not raining nor is the wind blowing . . . yet. I need to work on my "to do" list today. I really should repot a couple of plants that have been rooting in water. Ernie tends to stick a paw in the water from time to time, and I'm afraid he might dump them while we are gone.
Maggie -- You will have enough charms you could have two bracelets . . . one for each arm! What new charms did you order?
"Gma" -- Our neighbor has one of 'those' thermostats and we would check their house during the winter months when they would be in Texas. We made several phone calls back and forth when it wouldn't work properly and they finally had to replace it. We are leaving for MN on Saturday and be back home the following Saturday. I just got a recall notice on my car -- something to do with the heated windshield washer that Bob thought they fixed the last time the oil was changed. He's going to call this morning and double check. I don't think I ever used the heat part nor has he.
Susan -- Are you working today?
I need to get busy and cross a few more things off my list. Have a terrific Tuesday and remember to !
I certainly don't have a clue what is going on with my head but this is the third migrain event I have had this month. I don't get the pain just that bright aura and then I pop a couple pills and wait half an hour and I can focus again. Flashing lights and bright reflections abound when we are out and about. I wear dark glasses but the flashes get through. I have not been eating any of the "trigger" foods so that can't be it. Must be the light interference with my head rhythm. My eyes have always been sensitive to light and I was allowed to wear dark glasses when outside at school for as long as I can remember. Other than that I have good vision with a slight correction to see far distances brought on by old age. I'm a mess. Ole Ragg Mopp just broght me a ball and wants to play "fetch." He plays "keep away" though. We received the Smoker book and it is the very basics of information ~ some we knew and some we didn't. We are making a nice list of what we want to smoke. Our favorite butcher shop has some "homemade" stuffed sausage thingies that would be great smoked and some other cuts we want to get next trip there. Smoking is a great way to preserve different foods also. We have different types of woods to smoke various items.
DONNA FAYE Sounds like a new thermostat is going to be one of your next purchases. What a pain that it resets itself to a high number. Stay cool if possible ~ not only give that darling pooch ice water have some yourself. Hope all is well with your auto.
JEAN What a lovely day in your neighborhood. Your weather rather matches ours this day. Yep, you do have a curious cat to put his paw in that water. I once saw a cat that that was how it drank was to put his paw in the water and then to his mouth. I thought that was rather strange. I did take a few charms off but am adding quite a few also. This is the last of the additions I do believe. I took off the moose & canoe for we most likely won't be going hunting way up north so I added some more in tune what I will be doing: motor boat ~ keep afloat fishing pole w/ two fish ~ OP food rifle ~ hunting big game for OP food bow & arrow ~ more getting OP food coffee pot & mug ~ my wake up go juice flashlight ~ to light my way down the road hand weights ~ Contune to exercise menu & measure spoons ~ plan OP meals and eat properly banner that says "Freedm" ~ Reach goal & be free from fat tent trailer ~ Stay OP while having fun "out there"
I just know you wanted to see all of that. I really have to quit looking for I do want to have them all on one bracelet because it is the tale of my one journey down the road to thin of which I am one third of the way there.
Good evening, ladies! Not so hot today - just 80s but humid.
We spent from 10-4 yesterday with our applique group. What fun!
Today was my 5-hour appointment for the drug trial. Tomorrow is the last day. I'd certainly sign up for another trial if they get one I can qualify for.
Faye, bummer on the thermostat. I love my programmable one. The last regular one we had kept resetting itself when it was wearing out. I hope you were stuck at the Ford dealer for hours.
Jean, I didn't work today because of my long MD appointment. I'll work tomorrow instead. I could use a little cooler weather. We had rain during the night again so at least everything is not drying up.
Maggie, you're going to have to carry your arm in a sling if you add very many more charms! It such a special thing to do for yourself.
Maggie -- It's neat that you have found charms to remind you of each step along your road to a thinner you. I hope your headache is gone and there are no more! Ernie really prefers to drink from the kitchen faucet -- I wish I could get him trained to turn it off when he's finished.
Susan -- Will you find out any results as to how you compare with others in the drug trial? It would be nice if you could get the wonder drug to make you breathe easier. The sun came out late this afternoon and the wind blew. Bob mowed when he got home because we are supposed to have rain tomorrow and he was afraid to let the lawn go any longer.
Good morning gals! It is already 80 here and supposed to be mid 90's again today and the rest of the week. It would be nice to have a little break but looks like it is going to be very hot all summer long.
Susan: I got the giggles because you said, "I hope you were stuck at the Ford dealer for hours." Actually, I was only there an hour. I figured out what was going on with the thermostat and finally fixed it. It has 4 programs and I had to reset each one's temperature then reset the temperature and set the "hold." It is now working as well as it can for its size. We need to buy a new one, but frankly we can't afford it so we will just have to muddle along.
Maggie: You have cute charms and it is a great idea for weight loss or anything else you want to accomplish in your life. Have you been tested to make sure you haven't had any tiny strokes? I know you know your symptoms and all with the migraines, but they can mimic mini strokes. I hope you get to feeling better. Nothing worse than feeling out of control of one's own body.
Jean: If I ever potted a plant I would probably kill it. Several years ago Kelly bought me a cute gardening set for Mother's Day but I definitely don't have a green thumb. I think I "overlove" my plants so I gave up even trying to have them. I did plant 3 azaleas in Va when we lived in base housing and they would bloom every year, but it was the only thing I ever kept alive! lol
Today is a quiet day and I hope to finish T's sock. I have been having sore hands and fingers which usually means I have been knitting too much, but I have to get it done so I can finish the doctor's socks. I would be sad if I couldn't give her something before she left.
Jack and I watch the oil spill closely as we are planning on going to Panama City Beach the end of Sept around my birthday. We hope it doesn't spread that far east but who know. I look at different sites and each one looks different than the other one. I think the best one is a Florida vacation site that you can click on the icon of a beach and it gives you current information. We will just have to wait and see. The hotel we are going to stay at has 3 outdoor and 1 indoor pool so swimming is a question.
Well gals, I need to go. You all have a good day! Faye
Good Morning, Flowers! It's a beautiful morning in my corner of the world -- sunshine and no wind for a nice change. I'm off to get my nails done and a pedicure shortly. Then I will work on getting my house ready for the cat sitter, and getting my stuff together for MN.
"Gma" -- I have all kinds of plants but wouldn't say I have a green thumb -- just a little bit of luck! I don't water on a schedule so sometimes they get pretty droopy before I notice. I have visions of prices going sky high as a result of the oil spill; I hope I'm wrong!
Good afternoon, ladies! Not so hot today - 89 but humid. This is not going to be a good summer.
I have quilting bee tonight so fun evening.
Jean, I won't know how anyone else did with the drug trial. Being a double blind study, only Novartis knows who got the placebo and who got the real medication.
Faye, I'm glad you got your thermostat working. The darn things always go out at the worst possible time. I still have the dish garden you sent when Stan passed away. It's the only thing I haven't killed. I either water too much or not enough.
We started the morning with thunderstorms and rain pounding and it stopped before noon and it is just warm and the wind is blowing. I spend most of the day just putsing around doing this and that which needed to be done. Plus I got all my ordered charms in the mail today except one coming from a different company. Got them all soldered on my bracelet and it looks nifty.
DONNA FAYE I don't get any headache pain since my meds kicks it when I take it while my vision is impared a bit. I am so thankful I found a product that works becaise when I used to get the pain it lasted for a few days. I am back to exact when my whole vision returns. This has been with me since grade school when they gave me permission to wear dark glasses outside and inside if the lights were bright. I usually get them twice a year but I have been flashed with light a lot this month and that is mostly what triggers them. I sometimes say "Oops, that light will show up as a migraine in a couple of days." There are a few foods that trigger them also which I have found.
JEAN I can imagine how excited you must be getting for your trip to MN. Hope all goes well and give us a report when you return. Be safe.
SUSAN I weighed my bracelet and it came out to be 4.6 ounces. However, it is not uncomfortable to wear.
I need to get dressed for mid week Bible study. Hope everyone has a nice evening. Type at y'all later
