  • WI was 173..after the big workout ( running and beach body class). That was down 3 from last week. I am tired of the up and down - sheesh. I need to get a grip on snacking in the worst way. I'm eating healthy food - just too much of it! Today, my exercise is going be housework. I have to move stuff around to get ready for carpet cleaning, and I am going to work in the yard, since it will be nice out ( finally). 10K is Saturday! Sure hope I can do it...hubby seems to think I can...and he's never wrong

Jules - you may surprise yourself with the C25K. I started with it last year, not expecting much, and now I run can run 3 miles pretty easily and can push it up to 5. Feel free to ask me for tips along the way if you like. I got great advice from my running partner and my DH, both of whom have run marathons in the past. Today's tip: SHOES! pay the $$ and get really good shoes. Both my DH and running partners have struggled with injuries brought on by running in old shoes..

Sassy- Yay for the WATP - I've tried those DVDs and they are pretty good! Fingers crossed for TTC...BTDT

Sue- Hope your mother is improving today.(((Hugs)))

Cristina - Yay for your loss...I hear you about the weather..been raining here so long I've forgotten what sun feels like, lol! I'm glad for a sunny day today - the yard is a jungle!

Hi to everyone else! Hopefully now that school is done, I can at least get back in the habit of posting my WI...life keeps getting busier instead of the other way around...
  • Katy-I have New Balance sneakers that are still pretty new...just starting to get comfortable...what kind of sneakers do those that run with you use? Should I get ones specifically for runners? Not that I am exactly running yet...it was more like a jog...not much faster than a brisk walk. Our property has some really great walking trails that I have not put to use this past year, but I think I it worked. There are also the inclines one is not conducive at all to brisk walking or jogging so I went a different way. My 10 and 11 year old dogs went with me...you should have seen them the first time I took off "running"..it was funny..then the back to walking they slowed down and then the "running" again..it was hilarious.

Since both parents have had cancer and mom's family is full of it, I am trying to make changes. I need to get serious on the healthy living. Family history and being too overweight definitly put me at a higher risk, if I can do something about the weight I am at least lowering it some. I am thinking the exercise and concentrating on me more will help my stress level some which also is a contributor. I love veggies and tis the season so that should help with the healthier eating.

The weather is beautiful today. Fingers crossed that I get a motorcycle ride.....
  • Quick pop in...Ended up with mom in the E.R. this morning. Couldn't wait for the Dr. appt. She is back home though, they didn't admit her. If she keep going down hill I will be taking her back. How do they expect her meds. to work if she can't keep them down? I think she needs IV meds.
I am going to fix dinner for DH and I and try to get mom to eat some toast...again. Then we will see how the evening goes.
Poor thing...she was feeling better when we came home.

    I will be back.
  • (((((HUGS))))) to Sue...
  • I have a chuckle every time I come here..it says BANK in Kindergarten....LOL..

I needed a chuckle today. Just wanted to say thanks Jules. And Mom is finally resting and not being sick...maybe she will be able to keep meds. down before the night ends.

I didn't get anything done today except for making dinner and washing dishes. I rode 1 mile only...trying to get over Charlie Horse cramps in my legs again. I have had them 2 nights after riding. Today I even had a foot cramp, so I don't know what that is all about.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get my house cleaned..having company Saturday. Need to get my ironing done too.
  • omg,Sue.............I didn't even notice the BankIK....lol ,so sad. I must have been thinking about the bills I needed to pay. pfft, sorry.

WI is 159,not bad, I ate 2 taco's last night.

Have Gaby home from school, chat more when I get more time.

  • Quickie again....I had to take mom back to the hospital early this morning. She was admitted and given IV meds. (like i said she needed yesterday) NOW maybe she will start getting better. She was sleeping when I left..the nausea meds. make her sleep along with helping her keep things down. Yay... I was worried because she has not been able to take her heart meds.

I just came home for a break. I cleaned her room, clean sheets and such. Packed her a bag to take back with me. I will let ya'll know how things are going. Right now they are saying an infection in her intestines. (once again)
  • susan--mmmm taco's....

Sue--I know how rough it is with all the ups and downs. I feel for you

    off to bed for me
  • Good Morning Chicks!
    Good Morning Chicks!

Well its been raining here. So far hasn't rained yet today, but we'll see. My back's been aching bad. I didn't worked out Tues or Wed, but I did manage 2 miles W.A.T.P early this morning. I'm hoping to maybe get at least another mile done today as well.

I dusted my bedroom lastnight. WHEW did it need it! Even took my silk flowers that my MIL arranged for me and stuck em in the shower for a wash! I thought of this idea and went online and confirmed it before doing it and IT WORKS! It just rinses all the crud away! Now just waiting for them to dry and I tossed the bow (my mil made that too) in the dryer on delicate just to get it from being sopping wet.

Next I wanna work on my room. Not sure what it is its where the treadmill is but we don't use it. I do W.A.T.P cuz its easier and I can get it done faster + I get so bored walking on the treadmill back there. DH walks at work. We talked to fil (he gave us the treadmill) he said he is ok with us selling it and we'll give him the money. I wanna maybe get a little sofa or luv-seat. I'd love to find a sleeper sofa for cheap but I know those are expensive, even if used and hard to come by.

I told DH I wanna go somewhere next week. He is taking some time off and I want to get the heck out of this house and maybe out of this state! HA. But I dunno where to go. Don't wanna go to far. Then we're having a small cookout next Saturday just our close friends.

Katy -- Thanks and I'm doing the same as you up and down up and down. Its making me lol. I think I just need better portion control. GL on the 10k! We know you can do it!!!!!

Sue -- Big to you and your mom. I hope she gets better in the hospital. I know its hard to get any actual rest there as they are always in and out poking and prodding ya. I hope you get some rest too, I know your probably exhausted as well.

Cristina -- Hi Bye I hope the rain lets up soon. Places around here are getting flooded.

Jules -- You'll get back to exercising when your ready. I took off 2 days and am trying to play "catch up" before WI on Monday morning. HA. It did feel good to walk the 2 miles this morning though. GL on the c25k. How far is that? I want to eventually do a walk, maybe start small. But I know I can at least do 2 miles so just need to keep at it. My DH's family has lots of cancer in it as well. We have been making pretty good changes. Trying to eat healthier and all. Scary scary thing Cancer and it hits people that you'd never think. Big

Suzy Q -- Our little Banker. HA. I never noticed either until Sue mentioned it. lol. Aw well maybe you'll bring us some MONEY! lol. Mmmmm Tacos.......sound yummo!

Well I suppose thats about it for me at the moment.

    Take Care Everybody!

  • Sassy-I am actually excited about my day 2 walk/"run" (snicker...roll eyes at the word run cause it's more like a jog)...

back to trying to become a waterholic....I know there is much discussion with the value of drinking water to help with weight loss, but all I know is that for me personally if I am not drinking at least 8 - 8 oz servings I do NOT lose....
  • Hello all...

KATY...hope you have a good run today!

SUSAN...ha, I didn't notice the 'bank' either, had to go see, lol. Tacos sounds so yummy right now...I slept in and had a banana for breakfast and was just thinking how good tacos would be for lunch! Don't work too hard today!

SUE...lots of (((((HUGS))))), hoping your mother is feeling better today.

SASSY...I hear ya about the treadmill...it bores me to death but...I would never get rid of mine. I do use it but not like I used too or should.

JULES...good luck on the C25k...one day I will jog/run, always wanted to. Only watching Lily...the other two have busy schedules with Charlotte's step-dad and mom so he watches them, did last summer too and I thought I would end up doing it, oh well. One is more than enough for me.

Not much going on with me...same old stuff, different day. Trying to get back on some sort of schedule since coming back from AR. We were lazy to say the least! No exercise, sleeping late, etc...

Eating hasn't been so great since being home, but then it's not so bad either I guess. Walked 4 out of 5 days last week but with Lily fussing like she has been it has been cut short. But then, I guess a 30 and 40 minute walk is better than nothing. Going to do a dvd today...just so freaking lazy and don't want to do anything. Trying to snap out of it but it's not working. Too hot to go outside and do anything...so humid yuck! Anyway...today going to read, and do laundry and a dvd and that's about it.

    Have a good weekend all!
  • Cristina--babies do definitely interrupt an exercise routine...its not what you want to do it's all about them. It's really humid here too. I am doing my runnng schedule Tuesday, Thursday after work and Sunday after the babies leave. My kness are hurting a little. I am going to wrap the bad one today.
  • yessss, never thought I would see 155 again, let alone 154.8 (because every ounce counts - ha) yippeee, happy.
  • Congrats to all of you for doing so well.
I am not even thinking about exercise, but have been trying to monitor my eating (after a sweet roll the first day at the hospital I decided I CAN NOT do that every day) Tomorrow will be a long day of waiting there, so I already have my tote bag ready to go with my books, but will get some 100 calorie snacks and sugar free gum to throw in there. Vending machines ARE NOT our friends. I did find pretzels, but it didn't make a very good breakfast. LOL

Thought mom would be coming home today but they found another problem. SO we are waiting for all 3 of her docs to confer on Monday and decide what procedure is next. She basically needs surgery but her heart doc will probably nix that. Mom felt really good today and is just anxious to get things finished so she can come home.

I am home for awhile and need to get some stuff done here....(and here I sit on the computer)
  • Sue--ITA vending machines and just the stress of the good/bad days are noy conducive to weight loss. I gained back the 15 pounds I had loss and they came back in weird spots...lol

SuzyQ---at this point my goal is 199...no in the 200's and I will be happy...ultimately i'd like to get to the 140's but I'd even take the 180's at this point...looks like Ry and family will be moving July 1..I am dreading the up and down stairs....

I am suppossed to do the W1D3 of my C25K but I am so tired...my battery died...Jerry, me and me carrying Dominic had to walk to get a new battery...of course nobody could answer their cells...Jerry had to carry the 60lb battery back...it totally sucked...
