Hello all...

Knee is better...food, I'm doing well...Lost 3 more pounds this morning....It's just falling off again....and I am not complaining!

If the knee is holding up by tomorrow I may go walk a little on the flat areas around the neighborhood. We'll see how it goes.

Well hello little chick. When I strted lo carb I did alot of reading and research on the web. ANd picked a plan that worked with who I was. Water is very important. I drink in oz. 1/2 my weight. I picked foods that were under 50 on the gkycemic index and I kept a food diary. ANd I didn't cheat! I lost 1-2 #'s a week. WHich I was OK with. I also didn't drink sugar free drinks I kept with just water. Oh I also w/o'd out 4-5 times a week. On 3FC home page they have a link to lo carb info and plans that should help.
Please join us on the locarb thread here in misc. There are people therewho have been lo carbing it longer than I and they are great peopel to get support from!

I am still OP ALthough I fondled a chocolate bar yesterday. Still can only get in 3 quarts of water though. Not trying hard eneough!

Well girls that week is almost over! Check in and let us know hoiw the week went for you!

Next week the thread will look alittle different as we will encourage those to share there daily intake and w/o!

I am very curious about the low carb diet, I am positive that I am addicted to carbs, NO JOKE!!! You say that there is all kinds of info on the web, because I do not have the first clue where to look, I am going to check this site more but if you could steer me in some kind of direction that would be great.

I am 37 years old married with two boys 18 and 13, so no excuse that this weight is baby fat anymore, and recently I have reached my highest weight of 202lbs and I am 5'7". I can't even stand typing that. I can pack away a loaf of bread myself in one day and am totally disgusted with myself, but that does not seem to stop me from pigging right out, and I am begging for help and support and this seems to be a good place to start. But I do not even know, besides the bread all the other carbs that I must be consuming. That is how little that I know.

Thanks for your thread.

Mis Chick

I wrote a wonderful long post and the puter froze and i lot the whole thing. not only thast but had to run. so I am sorry i did not get the info and i have to get the kitchen clean and laundry done asap so i can get to sleep. I am tired!!!

but in erssence MC i can relate. i am in that same boat right now. I was stressed and had a few carbs today but went to the boy scout meeting and was upset with DH and my self that i ended up shoving a handful of M&M in my mouth. so what a waste of a not great day. i seem to search for those carbs. it is a chemeical reaction that the body percieves as pleasure and becomes addicted to it. i can relate to the loaf of bread. what about a whole lb of macaroni with butter. yea i can do that too!

post often and come see us on the daily which is numbered right in the same forum here if the miscl clubs. there are just a few of us. it should be just above us after i post there. as for it being an addiction it is. i know i have all the symptoms!! withdrawl cravings and what i call mindless eating. i get upset when some finds my stash and eats it. i can closet eat very well. i am only 5'2" and hit a high of 235 size 24 so i can totally relate!~!!!

Thanks for the welcome, and I did a bunch of searching yesterday on carb addiction and after that I felt a little confident. I can beat this addiction, there should be an AA for this, Ha! Ha!. I was determined to have a great day with no carbs and the first thing I did was have poached eggs on toast, then when my husband came home from work, I shoved a muffin in my mouth, I did not even realize it until the last bite was in my mouth. What are some things that I can do to keep me sane for the first few days without the carbs? What are some of the things that you guys do from not going totally insane? Any hints will sure make my family happy. They tell me I am moody, my husband swears I am going through early menopause. {funny guy} He is great but he just thinks want to stop eating, just stop. But it is not that easy, is it?

MC read my post on the daily i know all about mindless eating. try to write down all your foods in a journal for a while every time you go to eat you must write it down then it does make you more aware of what you are eating. and also take chromium that does seem to helop with the cravings lots. you are not so hungry for carbs, but more important is the jouraling it really makes you think then after the first week voila the mindless eating is gone especially if you can get past the first few days.
