Am I the only one hiding in the dark on Halloween? We even take the chimes off the doorbell.

My neighbors and friends across the street cannot believe BoxerBob and I hide out til it's all over. They are our age - no kids, like us - but dress up like witches and monsters and decorate the whole yard and put a bright light on the porch and greet each group with a spider on a string that they drop down when they approach.

We have to manic boxers tho, and the idea of the doorbell and a hundred kids coming to the door is akin to do-it-yourself dental surgery.

Besides, BB hates to share his candy! Bad boy!

WELCOME RUSTY*RUSTY!!!!!! You will enjoy our small group!!! It looks like you have the sense of humor to fit right in!!!!!
BTW: Watch out for that "Sher-bear" or "Sherry" she can be a handful at times!!!!
I am the one that checked no tricker treaters. We use to have tons, but now everyone in our neighborhood is elderly, so the kids have grown and moved away. We take our kids into town to one of the areas that a set of Grandparents live.

We have one of those doorbells with the long chimes in the hallway. We remove them from the framework and hide them in the closet. Then we turn off all the lights and hide up here with our computers. LOL

Sounds Un-American! We've always had a problem with my *darling* girl dogs. When the doorbell rings it's like the Thrilla in Manila! Huge dogfights. Annie and Angel used to be the worst - they'd get along great all the time - unless the doorbell rang. Instantly they'd started barking and attack each other and roll around snarling and nipping and kicking each other. What a nightmare when we had four dogs - because Suzi and Major would jump in while I was trying to break it up.

Now that it's only Angel and lil Princess - poor Princess yips and runs for me wherever I am when the doorbell rings because she knows Angel goes psycho. She's a pacifist and if I don't get there first Angel will chase her all over the house. That's why I crate them when I'm not here. Mommy needs to keep an eye on them all the time. LOL

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome Rusty. We don't have any trick or treaters either. The only neighbors we have are my parents.
BTW, I have boxers also. Actually, I only have one left now. Belle is 8 years old and is a brindle with white stockings. Our beloved Duke passed on from the tumors that plague boxers so often. Again, welcome!!!!

Shelley..........let us know how you are!!!!!!!

Love ya'll

Hi Everyone! I haven't had time to post. I did go to the dr., and he basically said that I have had this for 20 years and know what it involves. He switched my medication, and I still am feeling bad. I haven't jogged since last Saturday, and am hoping to try this Sat. morning, but the way I am feeling right now, I don't know if I will. Needless to say, I'm not all that thrilled with this dr. I woke up last night only to have more blood yet. He didn't even order a blood test to see if I'm anemic. This is supposed to be one of the best drs. in the area.

Welcome Rusty to this wild and crazy group

I also don't have trick or treaters at my house. This year my girls are not going to go---they are getting too old for it. Think I'll buy some TootsiePops, just in case someone comes to the door.

Evening floozies

I broke my glasses last night, so can't say how this will turn out. It's the small print that gets me and I refuse to think it's my age...LOL.
No treat or threaters here either. We live down a dark country 1/2 mile driveway, prefect for Halloween but haven't had any takers in 6 years. Just as well, don't need all that candy laying around staring at me.

Welcome Rusty... I'm the sane one of the bunch. Have to keep Sherry and Gayle in line all the time. We are all on different plans but all have a common goal, getting healthy and staying that way.

Sherry....It was fun working with you tonight. I thought I worked my butt off, but most of it is still there...LOL. BTW...I can really tell you are losing. WTG!!!!

Love to all my floozie friends.

Hugs... Deb

Jennelle*****Are things going better at your School? Try to hang in there. This is YOUR gift to teach.Hope things are better. We don't have as many of inner city kids this year and things are so smooth at my School this year. Our MIP kids are WILD though!!

Rusty*****WELCOME!!! It's so nice to have you!!! Tell us a few things about yourself. How much weight do you need to lose? Most of us have been here for about 4 years and have really got to be very close friends.Don't listen to what they say about me! I'm the ONLY sane one in the bunch!! LOL!! Again...welcome!!

Hmmm - who do I believe? Sanity is relative! Or is it "Insanity is hereditary, I got it from my kids"?

I should be getting good at this - this is the second time I've wanted to lose 35 pounds. Only this time I had to dump another fifteen first. I got there yesterday. So if practice makes perfect - this time I'll get rid of the 140 sticks of butter I'm wearing and keep it off. (Think I should get a little red wagon like Oprah did and load it up with Land o' Lakes?)

Lost it last time (1989) thru patience and calorie counting with nary a thought to nutrition. This time I am eating WAY better and much more food - shopping every week for fruits and veggies and frozen (Yay! Portion control!) dinners. I'm finding that fiber is my friend. Yawn, who'd ever expect ME to say that? Not moi!

I've always been a fast food fanatic. Very hard to just say no to McDonald's drive-thru but when I found myself eating three triple-cheeseburgers just because they were 99 cents each - I realized I was out of control. Like CLICK!

We have boxers and fishponds and watch a lot of movies and that's all folks. More bio stuff when time allows.

Hey to everyone. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Sherry, aren't boxers great?! They are such loyal, loving "people". lol
About the cowboy boots, I prefer Tony Lama women's boots. Nocona is good also, but is sometimes difficult to find and usually more expensive. It all depends on how your foot is made whether one brand is better than another. If you have a really high arch, you may need to try Justin brand. All three of these are owned and manufactured by the same company, but they are built on different lasts(molds) and therefore fit differently.
Hubby is leaving tomorrow after church to get ds. They will be home late Monday afternoon. I'm going to cook all his favorites tomorrow! I'm still nervous, but excited about seeing him! I know that the time may be short with both of my boys. The inside word is that we will be at war on or about New Year's Day. My oldest will have to go for sure and the youngest very well could be called also. I've been through it once, but the thought of both of them "over there",...........it's scary. We'll just have to have faith and hope for the best.

Later everyone.....
Ramona

Hey Girls!!!!

Debyj: Where are you??? How did the interview go????

Shelley: I hope your feeling better soon! Did you try to jog this weekend? Hows the maintenence going?

Dee: Did you get Sis moved? Have you heard of wonder wine? It is a product made in Canada with all of the ingredients to create homemade wine at home.

Deb: Ready for the trip??? Hows the Grandbabe??

Sher: You will be sing'n that old song "these boots are made for walk'n" song!!! Good luck finding the perfect pair!!!! We have them everywhere here since we are the Cowboy Capital of the World.

Ramona: I bet you are so excited that your Son is coming home!!!! I will keep both boys in my prayers.

Rusty: FANTASTIC job with the 15 pound loss so far!!!! I seem to do the same thing, I get most of it off, then relax on my eating habits... seems to come off so much slower then it goes on!!!

Just hanging out today catching up on a lot of loose ends. Back to the grind again tomorrow.

Have a great day!!! Gayle
