Happy – Thanks for starting the new thread! Poor Kitty and poor DH!

Ruth – Hello there stranger! Sorry your trip to Disney included crummy weather. Better weather at home right now!

Michelle – I have a HS friend whose wedding anniversary is 4/1 as well! Happy Anniversary!! So are you sitting around outdoors or are you walking the dogs tonight? When I got home, I changed from sneakers to sandals and took doggy for a walk. He drank all his water during our walk – pretty warm for him. Enjoy your day off tomorrow and have fun w/ your discounts at Kohl’s. Feel better. My cold wasn’t really that bad – it was the cold/migraines combo that made me miserable last week. I’m sure once you’re back into your Zumba routine, that gain will vanish!

Shad – Glad to hear your back is better and you were up for some yoga! How nice of Happy to send you that organizing book – I hope you find it helpful! As Annie said about the Alice in Wonderland movie that she liked and I didn’t – different strokes for different folks.

Annie – Good news to hear your dad’s procedure went well. Glad you’re getting better – no ailments in April ya know! :D I’m feeling much better now! As for Alice in W’land – oh well. I thought I might like it too...

Ceejay – Congrats on weight loss! Hope you enjoyed the weather and the gardening today.

Mel – Hope that sciatica isn’t what’s laying you low and keeping you away from us Worldlies – maybe something fun is going on? Well, if not, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and hoping that the !@#$% sciatica will just GET LOST!!

I managed to get my organizing book checked from the library 3 more weeks. After that, if I’m still in need of it, I’ll buy a used copy for myself. I’m not making much actual progress, mostly getting through the book and jotting a lot of notes. Took a look around the garage after returning from doggy’s walk tonight and it’s not too horrible... I was looking for the pump for my fitness ball yesterday (it’s hiding on me) and have determined that two of the hall closets need organizing as well. They’re not packed with much, just neglected. Amazing how the dog hair manages to migrate into these closets – the doors are always closed! Last night I was ticked about not finding that pump, but I still did a lower body workout (part of another MR dvd). No exercise tonight – just the dog walk. Expecting bf home soon and we’ll go out to grab a quick dinner.

Wishing everyone have a wonderful Easter holiday if you’re not around tomorrow!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE. THANKS FOR MOVING US OVER HERE MISS HAPPY  A NEW MONTH SOUNDS GOOD TO ME. I WON'T OVERDO IT TODAY AS I TRIED ON WEDS AND ENDED UP BACK IN BED! THE DR ASKED THAT I TRY ONLY TO USE THE ALEVE, ICE AND PAIN PATCHES. THE OTHER MEDS ARE GETTING A BIT DANGEROUS TO USE. THAT IS WHY THIS THING IS DRAGGNG ON SO LONG AND THE INFLAMMATION WENT UP TO MY SHOULDERS....SO MAYBE THAT IS WHY SHAD FEELS THE WAY SHE DOES
I JUST SKIMMED THE POSTS ON PAGE ONE AND I AM GLAD TO HEAR ANNIE'S DAD DID OK. CONGRATS TO CEEJAY AND MICHELLE ON A GREAT MONTH. :cheer3: MISS HAPPY IS ALL DECKED OUT IN HER NEW WARDROBE!! GREAT BUY!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MICHELLE  LAURA, I GOT THE BOOK AND FOUND IT ILLUMINATING IN A WAY. WILL TELL MORE LATER ON. SHADDIE...HOPE YOUR BACK IS FEELING BETTER AND YOUR SHOULDER ALSO:hug: LET'S GET RID OF ALL THE AILMENTS! :cb:
I NEED TO GO BACK TO THE OLD THREAD FOR READING OVER THE WEEKEND.

HAVE A GREAT DAY :moped:

happy2bme 04-02-2010 08:37 AM

Good morning you yahs,

Back in the old days when we got Good Friday off, this would have been a much appreciated 3 day weekend. I thought about taking a floating holiday but it's month end and there is alot to do. Maybe we will get out a bit early. :crossed:

Mel - I'm glad you are up and around although moving slowly. Better to have you back here than in bed.

Laura - I was surprised - looked for the book on half.com and they have lots of copies at cheaper than paperback prices. I know what you mean about pet hair - it gets into everything. We once had a calico kitty and her ability to get black hair on light stuff and white on dark and a little brown in between was amazing

Shad - geez I hope we don't have to go get a passport just to send a book to you  You can bet I won't be express shipping it for $95  Glad you are unkinked from the road trip. I think because you can really shift much in your seat that long of a trip is really hard on the muscles. Is it autumn in Brissy now?

Michelle - it's a temporary blip on the scale - glad you didn't let it get to you. You'll be back to your old self next week. When is DMIL coming back?

Ceejay congrats on the weight loss and finding the secret combination that works for you!

Hiyah Annie

Much as I'd rather stay here, I do have to get off to work. Will check in later...

annie175 04-02-2010 09:49 AM

GOOD FRIDAY! or as the kids used to say when they were in school...Good Fry Day. They had crinkle cut french fries on Fridays. So they called it Good Fry Day! Well that was a bunch of jabber.

Spent last evening spreading dirt and rocks, spraying weeds, cutting down the dead decor grass, and tossing Hella Bella's winter poo over the fence from the backyard. Tonight I have to cut the backyard grass as she has OVER fertilized it and it is green and tall. Good place to hide eggs if I had a need.

Am working at CVS both Saturday and Sunday (Easter). I don't mind since baby boy is in bootcamp and baby girl is going to her boyfriend's parents house. I work 11-7pm, so before I go into work I will visit mom at nursing home, dad at his home, go let Jen's dogs out, feed and water them, then go into work. Shue wee a full day before CVS.

Shaddie...hope the back and shoulder get to feeling better. There is no shopping for this chick. Too broke for that.

Chelle...hope you are feeling better by now and it was only allergies. No worries about WW you will kick b*tt next week.

Ceejay...great job on weight for March. Stretch that arm around to your back and give it a big pat.

Laura...ok you have read the organizing book, procrastinated long enough, h*lls Bells woman, just do it. Family Circle Magazine's headlines "GET ORGANIZED" just an FYI. Haven't read it yet.

Happy...is it just you and I that are working today. I was hoping to leave early, but it is not looking promising. This 30 man office will be about 3 by noon. Oh well, can work without being interrupted.

MELLIE....I have noticed as we age it takes us longer to re-coop. This chest cold is going on day 12 and I used to get through this stuff in about 8. The joys of old age is upon us.

Have a lovely Easter everyone! I am not sure I will make it back over the weekend. Too much to do with work, parents, doggies, and most importantly...SLEEPING....

Much Love and Many Hugs,

ceejay52 04-02-2010 10:05 AM

Morning every one

Didn't get outside yesterday but today it will be done. Like Annie says if I had the need it would be great space to hide eggs. And rain is predicted

Hello to the rest.

annie175 04-02-2010 01:26 PM

I am literally the only one left at work. hmmmmmmm, waddaya think girls?

Laura705 04-02-2010 04:30 PM

Hi everyone!

The boss has already left the office. I might take an earlier train today. I'm finishing some quarterly work, but otherwise...nothing too too urgent.

Annie - I say get out of there if you don't have anything urgent to do. Enjoy what's left of the day since it sounds it's like a busy weekend for you w/ visits and pet sitting and CVS! Hope you get enough sleep to offset all that activity! Re the organizing - yup, after all the reading, I'm ready for action. Our town is having a document destruction event on May 22nd where we drive up w/ bags/boxes of papers to be shredded. They check ID for residency, and then take the stuff out of your car trunk for you and put it in the hopper for on the spot shredding. I'm definitely planning on purging all my files by then because there's no way I'm feeding all that paper into my dinky little paper shredder!

Happy - LOL, with a single color pet, you can try and blend your decor w/ the fur color, but w/ a calico cat you just can't win! Hope you get out of work early today!

Mel - Yep, TGIF for sure! Isn't it better to knock out the pain w/ a stronger pain med than to have it linger? Hope the aleve/ice/patches do the trick.

Hellos to Shad, Ceejay & Michelle.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Shad 04-02-2010 09:26 PM

Morning all,

Warning, warning. Do not go to the shops today. They're idiotic down there. I went down just before opening time, couldn't get a carpark undercover and had to go to the top floor before I could get a park. Got what I needed and then got out of there. One day of no shops seems to bring out the deprived and depraved. Then I tried to go to Bunnings (Hardware Heaven) but the queue was down the street and that was only to get into the car park. I just gave up and came home.

Thought I would share with you what I found in the garden when I got home and toured the garden. The purple one is Tennozan. I've never seen it flower so well. And the perfume has to be sniffed to be believed. I must neglect it more often. The second, I don't know the name of but I call it the Spotted Orchid. It too has outdone itself this year.

Hope you all managed to leave the office early today. We get a 4 day weekend for Easter. Enjoy the weekend

GOOD MORNING CHICKS
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.

POOR JOY ....YOU HAD TO GIVE UP HOLIDAY SHOPPING. IT'S BEEN THE SAME WAY OVER HERE...JEN WENT ON THURSDAY LATE AFTERNOON AND IT WAS BECOMING VERY CROWDED AS SHE WAS LEAVING AND TRAFFIC WAS BAD. SORRY YOU COULDN'T GET TO THE HARDWARE...WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LIKE TO LOOK AT THE "TOYS" THERE   THE FLOWERS ARE GORGEOUS AND I ENVY YOUR GARDEN!! ENJOY THEM. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE FINALLY HOME?? HOPE THE BACK IS BETTER

ANNIE...SORRY TO HEAR YOU HAVE TO WORK THIS WHOLE WEEKEND. HAVE A GOOD VISIT WITH THE MOM & DAD. GLAD TO HEAR DAD IS DOING OK AND I HOPE IT STAYS THAT WAY!!! CATCHING UP ON SLEEP SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA FOR YOU!! :cloud9: I AM NOT GETTING OLD....I AM AGING LIKE A FINE WINE

LAURA...HOPE YOU GOT TO LEAVE EARLY! YAY YOU!! HOW IS THE HOME OFFICE COMING?? I JUST HAD TO ASK IN A SEC I WILL TELL YOU WHAT I HAVE LEARNED SO FAR. ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND. YOU GUYS DOING ANYTHING?? AS FOR MY MEDS....SOME OF THEM ARE CAUSING BREATHING PROBLEMS AS MY LUNG MUSCLES WEAKEN...SO I HAVE TO WATCH WHAT I TAKE. IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING :lol3: :lol3:

:bunny: IT IS GOING TO BE AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS WEEKEND. THE TEMPS ARE GOING INTO THE 70'S BUT THE SUN ISN'T "HOT" YET. IT'S ONLY STILL APRIL AFTER ALL.
BEEN READING LAURA'S BOOK. I HAVE TO SAY WHEN I GoT IT, I THOUGHT "THIS IS NOT FOR ME". BUT THEN I FOUND SOME THINGS THAT "RANG A BELL". ONE OF THE BIGGEST REASONS I DON'T KEEP UP WITH THE WASH WAS BECAUSE IT "FIT" BETTER IN THE HAMPER THAN IT DID IN MY CLOSETS!! EVEN THOUGH I HAD DONE THE FLYLADY ROUTINE A THOUSAND TIMES...I WAS STILL HOLDING ON TO UNUSABLE STUFF. MONDAY I AM GOING TO TELL MOTA TO SAVE ME SOME MORE BOXES. TODAY I AM SORTING OUT SHOES. I MEAN...HOW MANY PAIR CAN I HAVE? WHERE DO I GO? I NEVER WEAR THEM ANYWAY! I AM THE QUEEN OF BARE FEET :queen:
I SORTED THE BEDROOM CLOSET AGAIN WITH THE SUMMER CLOTHES. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PULL THEM OFF THE HANGARS AND FOLD AND PUT IN THE BOX FOR THE MAINT. WOMAN'S DD. SHE LOVES MY STUFF. SO THAT SHOULD KEEP ME BUSY UP HERE AND NOT OVER DOING IT IN THE OFFICE. I DID NOT ATTEND THURS NITE'S MEETING. CALLED IN SICK AND TURNED OFF THE PHONE. I AM LEARNING!!
WE'RE HAVING A SPANISH EASTER. ORDERED A ROAST PORK AND THE KIDS WILL PICK UP ALL THE SIDES ALREADY MADE. WE WANTED TO SURPRISE RICHIE AND CELEBRATE THE FACT THAT HE BEGINS WORK ON MONDAY. LET US PRAY THEY STAY OPEN:yoga:

HAVE A GREAT DAY:moped:

ceejay52 04-03-2010 11:07 AM

Morning every one
I've been watching the organizational shows on cable tv, but haven't been doing the fly lady thing for awhile. Need to get back to it. Sure did make my life easier on week ends.

Mel
Glad to hear that Richie is getting to go back to work. And the pot roast sounds good for Easter. I'll be having gulosh., a recipe from my sis.

The land lord's men came yesterday to evaluate my work orders. They think that the hot water heater has rotted out on the bottom, and some a.c. repair man will take a look at the air conditioner. I have a feeling that this will be replaced also as one said this is one of the older ones. I feel a hike in the rent but I suppose that is due also.

I got to work outside yesterday and this is really good stress relief for me. Don't care if some people think I'm too old to do this. I missed doing it last year.

Have a good day.:)

ceejay52 04-03-2010 11:10 AM

Shad
I forgot to mention that the orchids are beautiful. I try not to go shopping around Christmas and Easter because of the mad rush.

happy2bme 04-03-2010 01:12 PM

Good morning ladies,

It's warm and sunny out there. Got some big storms last night but they blew off and I think for a change we are probably going to have a very nice Easter Sunday. Instead of cooking, DH and I are going to a pricy Sunday brunch downtown. Living here by ourselves, holidays have lost all meaning. It's just another weekend day. So I wanted to do something special which will force DH out of the usual T-shirt and shorts uniform  I hope it will be tasty. Took quite a bit of research to find a place that would suit our tastes.

Went looking at cars last night. My 4Runner is 8 years old and (I think) in great shape. Of course I am as sentimental about my cars as I am about pets. DH thinks I am just down the road from the start of major maintenance and repairs. Several dealers - including Toyota which I am still loyal too because of our good experiences with service - are offering 0 percent financing for 5 years. That saves you anywhere from 4 to 5 thousand dollars. They made the 4Runner too big for me now and the Rav4 doesn't have much in it so we were looking at a Highlander which is much like what I have now. I am driving my 7th 4Runner so does it not suprise you that I like a certain style of car? Actually I like sitting up higher - helps to see and also for the night driving against the dazzling headlights they put on cars. Not sure if we want to get a hybrid - you pay almost 10,000 more for it and it's not in the dealer incentives.

Well here we go again ... DH wants to talk about cars so I have to log off. Back later.

Enjoy your Saturday.

Laura705 04-03-2010 04:07 PM

Hey everyone!

Shad - That's what you get when you ignore your garden?!!? Wow. :flow2: I have some hardy perennials that take care of themselves (hosta, daylilies, peonies, daffodils), but nothing stunning like those in your photos!! Sorry the shops were jammed.

Mel - Enjoy your nice weather! I did leave work a wee bit early yesterday - took the 4:05 train home and got home about an hour earlier than usual. Glad the book is motivating you. Enjoy the pork roast tomorrow!

Happy - Enjoy the brunch tomorrow. Car shopping - oooh that new car smell, LOL. Have fun for me - new car not in my immediate future.

Ceejay - Glad the work orders are being addressed. Boo on a rent raise, but everything goes up. Hey, 65 is the new 45, lol, so you're not too old to be out puttering in the garden. Enjoy yourself.

Hellos to Michelle & Annie!

I met a former co-worker for breakfast today and then came home and dug into the closets. Have 2 bags and 2 boxes of clothes and household stuff for charity donation and listed all of it for tax purposes. Now the rain and clouds are leaving and it's time for a late lunch. Much more to do, but it's a start.

No plans for Easter except to go to the home of a family friend tomorrow evening.

Okay, signing off. Need to clean up for lunch - feeling grimey after digging in the closets.

ceejay52 04-03-2010 04:27 PM

HAPPY
Was wondering if the storms we had hit in your area. I'm like you and like to sit up high. my Rav 4 is 8 years old. I've been debating on getting a new one this fall. The Rav 4's are a perfect size for me. Enjoy your Easter dinner. Holiday's have no meaning to me either.

Laura
If you call mowing the lawn puttering in the yard then that's what I did. I did take some breaks. Breakfast with friends sounds good. Time o catch up and reflect. When you get through with your closets can you come and do mine?

My living room has been cleaned and bedroom almost cleaned. Why oh why do I live in clutter! There are little piles here and little piles there. I hate it but it doesn't seem to motivate me to clean it up.

MELODY525 04-03-2010 05:30 PM

SHAD WHEN YOU HAVE TIME SEND ME THE BOTTOM ONE...I LIKE ALL THE GREENERY. THANKS:hug:

HAPPY EASTER TO MY SOUTHERN MOST SISTER
