Good morning ladies,
:congrat: :yay: :congrat: :yay: :congrat: :yay: :congrat: :yay: to fabulous Michelle and her awesome accomplishment! We're all so proud of you as you have worked so very very hard to meet this goal. *bows to the Zumba Queen* :D I'll bet you were just walking on air yesterday and scared half the people in the weigh in line  Awwww I love, love love the penquins - real and cartoon. As we are at the end of the month can you both repost them into the next thread? What a great idea - you two (Shad and Mel) are wonderful surprise makers ;) :flow2: Mel - good for you for sneaking in the covert operations and swooping in and out just to make sure things are in order without getting the yuck stuck to you. Have to call you Double O Mel  00Mel Ceejay - so much for the perfect weather, eh? We are in for some really really bad storms this weekend. A deluge of thunderstorms. Hope it won't be as bad as they are predicting. Annie - our hearts will be with you this morning. :grouphug: May your Mom rest in peace - love and comfort to you and your family. Laura - did you escape Hurricane Faucet and it's potentially stormy clouds? I am concerned a little about vacation. Anxiously watching the goings on of the oil slick. I did buy trip insurance and by gosh - they had better come through if we have to cancel. I was soooo looking forward to sitting on the beach. My sister said my Mom is having second thoughts about travelling which would break my heart. I guess I have to to bully .... um I mean reassure her. ;) her concerns at this point are unfounded, I would respect them if it was something more valid. One of my sister's in-laws said Mom is just getting paranoid sitting at home alone too much with her thoughts. I hope May will not start out to be a bad month. I did participate in a charity auction at work and bid on and won a 1 month health club membership. They have Zumba Gold on Sunday afternoons - a more gentle version of the regular class which I am eager to try. I think my foot can handle it. I won't join until after we come back from vacation because it would simply be a waste to throw away that week. Gotta be on my way now. Will talk with you later. |
Happy Friday everyone -
TGIF! I'm still riding :cloud9: from yesterday's weigh in...and no, I did NOT go out and celebrate last night. After Zumba and strength training, I ate a healthy, low points dinner. More Zumba tonight, tomorrow and Sunday, and I'll throw in some weights here and there, along with dog walks. My next goals are: (1) to be able to wear size 14 pants to comfortably fit into my XL (rather than plus size) workout capris by the time I go to California; (2) to get to OneDerLand by 6/20 (or 6/24). Shad - OMG! I can't believe you adopted a penguin!! How wonderful that the Worldlies now have a penguin!!! I love, love, love it!! What an excellent surprise! I'm speechless! Thank you SOOOOOOO much for doing this!!! Those fairy blue penguins are so adorable!! You are sooo sweet!! :) Mel - Thanks for the dancing/flipping graphic!! And the penguin graphic! They're both adorable and definitely gave me a smile to start my day! Too funny that you could hardly "weight" 'till I reached my goal. I'm glad you're taking another day off, and my fingers are crossed :crossed: that you will have a drama-free weekend. Ceejay - Thanks for the kind words. I'm not quite in victory lane yet, but I'm getting there. But I have achieved a milestone that I've been working for, and waiting a helluva long time for. Happy - You are right, I did startle the people in the weigh in line! And everyone else in the room too! They were all like, "I take it you got good news from the scale?" When do you leave for vacay? You DEFINITELY have to convince/coerce your mom into going. That's fantastic that you won the health club membership! Zumba Gold is so much fun and still an excellent workout! And the nice thing about Zumba Gold is that it should be foot friendly (ours is anyway)...it's low impact. When you start taking classes, just do what you can, modify what you need to, keep moving and enjoy the party! Annie - My dear friend, I know today will be especially difficult. :grouphug: Just know that you have many friends that love you, and you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and we're sending lots of love and hugs. :grouphug:  May your mom rest in peace. I suppose I should get some work done as I'm leaving early to take DH to the airport. He's going to CA for 10 days to take photos in Yosemite that he'll be able to use to start his photography business when he gets back home. He so loves being in Yosemite. You know how most people have their "sanctuary". Their place where they want and sometimes NEED to get away to so they can recoup, reenergize and nourish the soul? Yosemite is HIS place. I'll miss him a lot, but I'm REALLY glad he's going...he needs it. |
Michelle
Anytime I lose a pound it's a victory for me. You are being to modest. i like you goals. happy it does look like tonight and Saturday's are going to be wash out's so to speak. I'm hoping that the weather doesn't get tough but hey we are in tornado season. I hope the oil spill doesn't affect your vacation plans and that you can convince you mom into going with you. Mel You deserve a quiet week end. Shad What a great suprise! Thank you for adopting the little Wordly. He's precious. I talked to my sister last night and she is still waiting for her grand daughter to arrive. My nephew told his mom that the doctor will induce LA on Monday if she doesn't have the baby this week end. I'm kinda hoping that she wais till Monday. It will be closer to my nephew's birthday on the 4th of May. But I'm not LA and she is probably miserable. |
Michelle – CONGRATS!!!! :bravo: :cp: Way to go girl!! What an achievement!! Hope your dh has a safe flight and a wonderful trip! I bet you’ll also appreciate the “me” time you’ll have…well, make that “me and the doggies” time, LOL.
Shad – Awww, what a nice surprise! Did you name Little Blue yet? What a nice to adopt a penguin and support a good cause. Have a good weekend - hope you didn’t have to bring home some work. Mel – Love the penguin graphic! A drama-free weekend sounds wonderful. Hope you get it for yourself! Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s in the cards for me. Bf bought our new bathroom faucet, but he’s been studying for some exams for his continuing education the past couple days (deadline: TODAY), so he hasn’t installed the faucet yet. So chances are it will be this weekend and chances are I will be around to hear the grumpiness and drama. Boo. But that might actually force me out of the house and doing the clothes shopping that I’ve been putting off, so that might actually be a good thing. Happy – Oh, I hope “your” part of the Gulf and your vacation won’t be affected by this big oil slick. :( I hope you can reassure your mother about whatever worries she has, and that she’ll still make the trip - if it happens. :crossed: Congrats on your winning bid - hope you enjoy the Zumba classes! And Michelle can offer you her expert tips! Now I’m feeling guilty – I haven’t been to my gym in quite a while now and I haven’t been doing any cardio. I think my med. Insurance “coach” is scheduled to phone me today and I’ll have to report that to her… and no positive change in my weight either. It’s time I got my butt in gear! Annie – My thoughts and prayers are with you on this very difficult day. Ceejay – Hope you don’t get any tornadoes or severe storms this weekend. A few more days for your niece – hope she’s hanging in there alright! :preg: Last night I walked the dog by the creek. A couple guys and a girl (in their teens I would guess) were walking there too, from the opposite direction. When we met up, one of the guys wanted to pet Coal. Surprisingly, Coal’s fur stood up and he growled! As far as I know, the only human he doesn’t love is the mailman, so I was very surprised. But who knows – these kids were dressed sort of goth-y – black and chains, etc., so maybe that was it. Or maybe the kid was related to the mailman, LOL. I did one BE workout after that. The night before last, bf and I went to a sporting goods store and bought tennis balls, and an employee we asked about fitness ball pumps (mine is still missing) was very kind and gave us one he had in back. So I inflated my ball to my preferred size. Yay! Well TGIF and it's payday to boot! I think I’m going to take Monday off work. The weather is supposed to be nice, so maybe I'll spend some time outside - maybe on my bike. :bike: And I'd like to get a massage too. :cloud9: We'll see. ;) |
Annie
Anne, my thoughs are with you and yours today as you lay your mum to rest. I wish for you some peace in your heart. She is now free from the body which was failing her and causing her pain and grief. |
Right - here we go. Worldly the Penguin.
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...1/Worldly2.jpg If anyone wants to know more info about him or penguins in general, I'll scan the information and email it to you. With our adoption, we get a free admission to Penguin Parade as well. So if you know anyone who is coming over - they are welcome to the the ticket. At this time of the year, you would have to wrap up for the South Pole, but at least the penguins come ashore at 5.30 or there abouts rather than the 9.00pm as it was when we went to the parade. Laura - too funny about Coal's admirer being related to the mailman. Wonder what it was that upset the doggie. Hope the tap drama goes okay this weekend. DS2 was fairly colourful when he installed my shower head as well. It never seemed to get to be in quite the right position for him. Ceejay - babies have a habit of being late and then coming at the most inconvenient time. Hope all goes well with your new niecelet or nephewlet. Michelle - so glad that you enjoyed your 'surprise'. You've worked very hard to get to this point and you deserve the kudo's. DH is going to Yosemite!!! I'm jealous. That is next on my list of things to see and do when next in the USA. Happy - I really hope they contain this oil slick. Not just for your holiday although that is very important, but the welfare of a fragile part of this earth is at stake here. Poor Mum, she is wondering what she let herself in for on this holiday. At least you won't have to cancel air fares for her since they were driving down. If it should come to that - and I really hope not. While I think of it, I have done some arranging of things spoken of earlier. I will ring you sometime this weekend about your dinnertime and let you know what is happening. Let me know if there is any time that you won't be home around dinner - like when the Obamas invite you to the WH for a snack or two. Mel - I'm beginning to think my work here on Earth is done. You have finally learnt to say 'no' and 'enough is enough'. I have achieved my goal. Love the graphic of the penguins. Right - enough is enough. I have a mountain of laundry to do. This end of the house has been hit by a bomb (DS2 bought a new entertainment unit and the furniture is everywhere in the room and the dust is evident) I have filing everywhere and better get it sorted before tax time in June. All this working for a living is just wearing me out! See you soon. |
Oh Happy - forgot to mention that the parcel arrived safe and secure this week. Thank you so much. I will read it and get on top of this mess.
In fact this will be the year I get on top of the mess. Save a bit of money for another trip and lose some of this fat. You heard it first here. Now I have to live up to it. |
LOVING THE WORLDLY PICTURES AND AVATAR. I PRINTED HIM OUT AND PUT THE PIC IN A FRAME. HE NOW SITS PROUDLY OVER MY COMPUTER.
 IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT I SMACKED MY EYE INTO A TV STAND. DON'T ASK. IT HURTS BUT NOT DAMAGED. WILL SEE YOU IN "MAY". I'LL TRY AND READ LATER. EYE IS TEARING TOO MUCH RIGHT NOW. LOVE TO ALL AND LETS HAVE A WEEKEND OF BEING KIND TO OURSELVES :beach: |
