good morning chicks :) The sun is shining again!! and not supposed to have rain until later this afternoon. So a gf and I have made plans to ride together today, for lunch. We picked a place that's about 25 miles away, to give us a good ride there and back.
Tammy I hope you could ride to work today :bike: Hi Reda and Colleen! today's exercise was Fat Burning for Dummies :D but I work ankle weights and held half pounders to make it harder. And I was sweaty! have a great day  |
I GOT TO RIDE TO WORK TODAY! Woo Hoo!
Holly, I am with you on being cautious. There was a couple killed Saturday on their bike. An 18 year old pulled out in front of them. I am like you, I am just very mindful of it. It seems to me like this year has already started off with a lot of motorcycle wrecks. Maybe it is just me or b/c it is so early in the year and people are not looking. Have a fun, SAFE time with your friend! CC: Are you watching BL this season? Colleen: Hope your work week is going well and you are getting rested. Lol. Have a good day. |
ride
1st organized ride of the season is this Saturday. Of course it's going to be rainy/thunder storms! Just our luck!
Yummy sweet and sour chicken for lunch. Sinfully good! Nothing planned for supper yet. I NEED to get the house cleaned up! Last night after work DS and I went to church pancake supper. After that I was carbed out and tired! I got nothing done. NOTHING! Tonight Mom is coming over. That will motivated me to get stuff cleaned up! You don't want your Momma thinking you're a slob! DS got a promotion to be a supervisor at work today, and DD got a "you're a loser letter" from where she had interviewed for a job. She was very dissapointed. DH is up in MN for now. He gets around quick though. I've been busy...I started writting this HOURS ago, just after lunch. About time to go home now! |
Hi girls
Well I am out of town for work this week, and working a ton of hours but I will get home Friday evening :) I do think more accidents because people aren't paying attention because it is quite early to have this many bikes out and about Glad to hear you gals are getting to ride - We had our weekly supper ride tonight but of course I was not home to go on it but they sent me pictures through the phones- rubbing it in of course :) Tammy yes I am still watching BL and I knew that Victoria would be going because Koli wasn't going to vote of Sunshine Well girls I have to get up early again tomorrow so I better get going and try to get some sleep tonight- Have a Great Thursday :) |
good afternoon chicks! my friend and I did about a hundred miles yesterday, had a fun time :carrot:
this morning, I tackled something I've been putting off forever, cleaning out the bottom cabinets. I ended up with 2 full garbage bags of mismatched plastic containers, extra saucepan lids from non-existing saucepans, etc. Also tried to take a big load of donated stuff to the second hand shop, but they weren't accepting today. So it's gotta live in the back seat of my car until they do take it. tonight we're going to a United Motorcyclists of Vermont meeting, to go over the scholarship applications. And I have the hmmm news that I learned from a Motor Vehicle Enforcement official that they will be conducting 'safety checks' (forced, motorcycle-only profiling!) for proper helmets and aftermarket pipes that conform to DOT standards blah blah blah. well gotta start an early dinner. Have a good night! |
Hi girls again I will be making this short but hey I do get to go home tomorrow- yay :)
Holly glad the ride went great with your fun and that you got to enjoy it WOW you are getting alot done before starting your FUN JOB- by the way when do you start that? Colleen so sorry I forgot to comment on your fish tank it is so big, you should take a picture and post it, I only have a 75 gallon but right now it is in basement sitting empty just don't want to take time to take care of it because we had salt water fish and they are work lots of work.... Tammy hope all is going well for you- glad you got to ride to work - I was informed rain at home all weekend, darn it On a side note I did take time to go to the local Harley shop and they have a Roadking (Black Ice Pearl is the color) love that color almost had me thinking about buying...... I even called DH and of course he is all for it because he has been trying to get me off the chopper and to a cruiser Roadkings are very comfortable road one a couple of weeks ago for about 60 miles - it was nice OK well time to get in shower - Oh I did get my exercise in while I was watching Survivor so I got 50 minutes in tonight instead of the usual 30 TGIF tomorrow |
rainy weekend
It's starting out cold and cloudy. Still thinking of going on the cycle ride tomorrow if it isn't too bad out though.
This week has just flown by! I still have a mess from last weekend! The new aquarium is up and running, but the stinkin' fish are quick! I've got about 1/2 of them to catch yet to be moved to the big tank. I was not going to drain the water out of the 80 gallon one until we sell it. I figured it would be more attractive set up. I would probably do better selling it if I actually advertised it too huh!? :p I'm stuffed to the gills! I had taco salad from Subway for lunch. Yum! It just sounds healthy. By the time it's doctored up with sour cream, ranch dressing, cheese, chips, and a couple of cookies on the side...it's really not anything to be proud of! Dandilions are out in full bloom! My DD wants lawn service for her birthday! I thought it was a strange request. She had a little technical difficulty working the fertilizer spreader last year though...that might explain it. Hope you all have a great weekend. Have lots of fun! |
Hi chicks! Reda, so glad you get to come home. ooo, Black Ice Pearl sounds awesome :D Too bad we can't have 'one of every flavor' ! Oh and the Trout Club officially opens on Wednesday May 12, but I would think that I could start in the kitchen prepping and setting up, the Wednesday ahead (like the 5th or so)
Colleen, mm that taco salad sounds sooo good. I love alot of sour cream on my taco-y stuff! Yes I also think seeing the aquarium set up would be a great selling point. Oh and yes, advertising it :p I hope you have good weather to ride tomorrow. Hi Tammy  hope you had a good day, and maybe rode to work again? Well yesterday was the kitchen cabinets...today I tackled my clothes closet...didn't get to the floor  but went through everything on hangers; threw out a black garbage bag worth of not-worth-stuff; collected a black garbage bag worth of stuff worth donating; then took all those clothes and the household stuff from yesterday, and went to the Transfer Station, where the nice guy charged me - 50 cents :p I know he is a nice guy because last year, I was there on my bike once to ask about fees, and he was all over the bike, and saying he wanted a bike, but could only afford metric but wanted something that sounded great, 'like yours'. I assured him that he could be happy with a metric, and just needed to be prepared to shell out some $ for aftermarket exhaust. And today, when I drove into the area, I saw a V-star! He said he just got it Tuesday and was so very happy. Isn't that great  Maybe that's why he just charged me 50 cents for a car load of stuff! Can you believe this energetic mood from ME? I mean, years ago, this was how I was all the time...I am just so thankful I am not wasting my free days. Today I wanted to ride to DH's work to meet him after work, it's about 35 miles and nice ride in good weather...well the sun went away and there was thick cloud cover, windy and low 50's...I was FREEZING! even though I was prepared with two shirts, sweatshirt, jacket, jeans, chaps, fleece neckwarmer, gauntlet gloves...I had to stop after 20 miles and call DH and tell him I couldn't go any further  I rode to a nearby convenience store and had the hottest coffee I could stand to sip (and some pb crackers, better than I donut I guess!) and thawed out and waited for DH to meet me there. Then the sun came out and that helped so very much. well have a nice Friday night! oh and wish us luck tomorrow, please, we're going to a fundraiser and the prize is not one but two Hardknock Kikker motorcycles! They come in kits but part of the prize is that they have been assembled and modified to be custom. We have one chance out of 125, hey someone has to win right! http://www.crossroadsmotorcyclerally.com/calcutta.html# |
Colleen wow that taco salad does sound so yummy, hope your ride tomorrow goes well and that you get nice weather because it has done nothing but rain here today (oh by the way I am home now :))
Holly well at least you got to ride even if for a little was bit and what great news about only having to pay .50 cents for your load and that is awesome that he was able to get a bike only after a year :) The benefit sounds great and sending you good vibes so that you can win that bike :) that would just be so awesome Well girls I am going to head off to bed alittle early tonight because I am tired and my legs and back hurt Have a Great Weekend |
Holly, with that energetic mood you still have time to come to Arkansas to clean my house before you go to work. Lol. I have a feeling we would get into trouble. Lol.
I am glad that guy got a bike. A lot of people think if they cannot afford a bike other than a metric they should not get one. Heck, I say it is a "ride".... so get it! They all help with stress relief the same. You know, you pulling over showed good riding sense. When you get really cold (or when I do), I cannot keep my focus on what I am supposed to be-- and we all know that we have to watch out for the other person, so we sure don't need to be distracted! I say good job girly! Colleen, I would be with you..... I love me some sour cream! And, yes you should probably advertise if you plan to sell. Lol. CC: That black pearl ice sounds awesome. If I am not mistaken that is what DH had. His was an 06. I would not have minded to have it, but at that time it was better for us to trade in my sportster on my Dyna. No regrets (except luggage room). So, are you thinking of getting rid of the chopper? Is it a "youth" thing? I would think you could rock and give style to whatever you have! Did y'all hear Brett Michaels of the group Poison is in critical condition with a brain bleed? He went in for an appendectomy and something went wrong. I sure hope he makes it. He is HAWT!..... and he seems to have a good heart and he had children. Well, it has been storming here. No riding. I am fixing to go. It is time for mine and DH coffee date. |
Hi girls
Just stopping by to say yuck we are having crappy rainy and stormy weather just went to walmart to rent a movie from redbox but I did get Blindside before I realized I left keys in pickup with my phone and got out and locked the door- yippeee so called DH from someones else phone and of course he wouldn't answer so I called DS to come give me a ride home but he came and got my door unlocked for me, how nice was that of him :) Nope not sure if I want to get rid of chopper or not I am thinking of just getting a cruiser but keeping chopper - I just don't know what I want but I do really like the black pearl ice/denim it is a purplish-blue color Well DH just got up so I am going to start some supper I will probably check back in later have a great night |
Good Sunday evening chicks :)
Reda, I am glad DS was able to rescue you! And I think you must have sent some good vibes, because the raffle winner was sitting right next to me :D If we couldn't have won, we were so glad it was him. Sorry you've got crummy weather :( Hi Tammy, lol I think I would enjoy cleaning someone else's house rather than this one  oh yes I did hear about Brett, I hope he's okay. I also read that he is a good dad to his two girls. We used the Piggyback Trailer to go grocery shopping today, if you have to grocery shop and spend money, at least its a little more fun on bikes! Once we got home, we saw how rusted the wheels and hitch of the trailer were, so I put on shorts and a halter top (sunny and high 60's today) got the big piece of thick foam that we use to sit on in the driveway, got my cleaning utensils and a diet pepsi, and sat out there in the sun and worked on those wheels  Used a combination of Chrome polish, very very fine steel wool, rubber gloves to protect my hands, and rags, and cleaned/polished those babies right up! Hi Colleen  hope you're good! Not to rub it in, but WOW AM I ENJOYING DAY AFTER DAY AFTER DAY OFF  you may rub it in back to me some day in the future :D have a good night! |
yep just rub it in Holly - wish I was off but if I have more than a week off at home I start home projects and we are talking taking walls down and all so I try not to have more than a couple of days off in a row that we are not doing something because it costs more money and DH gets mad :) because he will have to help
yes I heard about Brett and he is a nice looking guy but getting old (but then again who isn't ) :) Holly that is great that you got to ride and get a household chore accomplished- well I must have been praying to hard that it jumped to your neighbor but hey it is great that it is someone that you know :) he will probably even let you ride it possibly ???? Colleen how was your ride this weekend? Well lost another pound this week boy it has droped off but I did go to store and bought grocerys and individually packed them for the week so I can get back into the 2 pound loss per week instead of 1- Well our National Eagles President was in town today so we went to meet and visit with him and also give him $1000 check to donate to the Diabetes Research Center that our Eagle Riders Club has raised since September He was very excited and impressed since we just Chartered in April 09 So being the President it was great to be there :) Ok girls tomorrow is going to be an early morning and Amazing Race is just about to start so I need to get off here and get clothes together so I don't have to do it at 3am Have a great week! |
Holly, I am glad you are getting the time off. Boy, I wish I could.... and still keep my job. You know, I really cannot complain. I can pretty much take off when I need to. That is worth a weight in gold during this time. I will be picking DS up at the airport on June 2 for his last few days at home before he leaves the country.
I would love to be able to grocery shop on motorcycles! I have the same viewpoint as you... I hate spending the $, but if I have to, would like to do it on motorcycles. Colleen, hope you got to ride this weekend. It stormed badly here this weekend, but not near as bad as Mississippi. It was the same storm, but it looks like it got more momentum after crossing the Mississippi river. CC, I think it would be kewl to be able to get the HD and keep your chopper. That would be the best of both worlds. I learned an important lesson Saturday. DO NOT give blood while on the eating clean diet. I guess b/c you are just taking in enough of the "good" carbs to fuel your body..... not enough to have some taken away. I had the shakes all that evening on Saturday and 1/2 the day on Sunday. It was not fun! But, I feel better today. I am going to get busy. I will gab more later. CC.... don't work too hard. |
Quote:
Tammy, hey I'm glad you didn't pass out after donating blood, but I'm sure the shakes were not fun! Do you donate often? I used to, I got up to a 2 or 3 gallon pin, then I started just feeling too icky and woozy each time. Then I volunteered to be one of the 'helping ladies' but I did not enjoy that at all, so I just kinda drifted away from the blood scene. Well if one were to believe our weather forecasters, we would have been so disappointed - they said cloudy with possible showers..well I tell you there was only a few cloudy times and most of it sunny!! and maybe low 60's. I finally made the appt to have my oil changed, and I needed rear brakes very badly. So got that done, and got to ride about 40 miles  I really really wanted a soft serve ice cream but resisted! have a great night chicks  |
