good morning! some snow fell last night, so there are white spots..but it's now raining, so it's incredibly gloomy:devil: BUT I did layer up and went jogging!!! kept the slow jogging up for 2 miles today :D Then came home, stretched and did about 10 minutes of Gilad ab work.
Hope everyone has a good day  |
Holly, You go girl! Isn't it great to know that you can jog? I bet this will boost your WL. I know I need to start running again too. It is just hard to get my butt in gear. Lol. I am soooo glad you are in the "teens" of being rid of that horrible winter job. I don't blame you a bit about the biker comment. You remember I had a few words a while back when someone here said they could only pick up men like "biker dudes" like it was a bad thing. And the thing is.... most (of course not all-- just like in everything else in life) biker dudes would bend over backwards to help someone. But, no one takes that into consideration when they want to judge.
I had a decent weekend. My SIL came up from Florida. I had not met her before. I cooked last night, it went pretty well. Jake brought me a present Saturday AM. He came through the gate and dropped a dead baby rabbit on the pavement. I started to scold him-- but he was so proud. This confirmed that he used to be a hunting dog. He just knew he did a good deed. I went to where he had gotten the rabbit--- there was a nest but no other bunnies or no mad mommy. RIP.... little fellar. Boot camp was a little challenging today b/c I did not do any energy drink or anything before. I decided it is time to do it all on my own. I am getting older  and I know it is not healthy. I went and had my nails done..... I just love pretty nails. Normally they are hard to type with, but these are not too bad. So, how is everyone? CC, how was your weekend away? Colleen, how are you? Hopeful8, Wildfire--- where did ya go? I am going to get off here and get busy. |
good evening!! on the way home I stopped at a shoe store and bought a pair of running shoes!! I had only $60 budgeted, so looked around a bit but found some New Balance on sale; and even sprung for the inserts.
Tammy can you tell me how you began your running? did you alternate days? I am craving info :D |
Well girls just got home we got to ride today and it was so nice - didn't have camera to take any pictures, but it was so nice out it was upper 60's and suppose to stay that way all week :) Planned a supper ride for Wednesday
Holly way to go on your jogging- I have been maintaining my 30 minutes on treadmil but will be upping that here soon especially since I will get to start walking outside :) Well girls have to get some stuff done will check back in later- |
good morning! Reda that is SO GREAT that you have warm weather and had a nice ride!!! :carrot: and congrats on your continued fitness success :)
today I did 30 Day Shred level 3; then outside for 30 minutes of walk/jog. A friend who is a lifetime runner warned me to TAKE IT SLOW at first. My aerobic ability might be good to try hard but the ligaments, joints, etc. take much longer to adapt. I don't want to hurt myself!! will 'try' again today to keep away from the sweet poison stuff. Have't been 100% successful with that. hello to Tammy, Colleen! |
Holly, when I started out, I ran every day but the boot camp owner said you should not-- even if you feel like it. He said no more than 4 times a week-- every other day. More than that and you will injure sooner or later. I am so happy that you are enjoying the running.
It is beautiful here, so I am going to run with a guy in boot camp tomorrow outside. I wish DH would run with me.... but no such luck. DH knows this guy so I hope that is not an issue. CC, you are doing really well on the treadmill! Good job girl! Hey Colleen, Hopeful8, and Wildfire! I am going to get busy. Tammy |
Nice long weekend!
Friday through Monday weekends are the way to go! 4 days is just right! 2 is just too short! I did post once in there, but somehow I must have lost my masterpiece, and it didn't post. :dizzy:
Got a new car! No beating on me for the foreign brand...2011 Hyundia Sonata. 35 MPG, 4 door, heated seats front and back, leather, fun and sporty! 10 year bumper to bumper warranty with road service too! Less than $25000. Perfect! Had a good time with DH for the weekend. The spending spree is over. Very fun while it lasted! House sold/traded for Harley, new car, appliances, furniture and a shed. Good trade in my mind. :cloud9: DH is now trying to antagonize me into getting back in the groove of weight loss. He has given up soda and has refused dessert, second helpings and is planning on showing me how this is done I guess. I've not made my birthday goal, and have more than just fallen short of the goal! I've gone up in weight instead. Jogging! Holly, that is great! I can't think I'd make it past the refrigerator to jog any further! My elliptical is gathering dust, and DH has hung clothes on it...that was NOT my intention. I'll get twisted around and get back on track. I have to. It's just so easy NOT to! Tammy and Reda, you are awesome too! Just HOW do you get up the gumption to do the things you all do? I was getting a kick out of the doggy "present" that Jake brought home. Our Saint once brought home an entire deer skeleton from the woods to the front porch! Ribs, backbone, legs...ICK! She thought she really had a treasure too! I was not amused! How embarrasing to have your house for sale and have dead animal pieces and parts strewn around everywhere! Nice! More later. Busy. Take care all! |
good evening chicks! Tammy, it slipped my mind to comment on Jake's "present" to you...I was going to make a reference to the Easter Bunny, but that would have been horrible wouldn't it :devil::devil: Colleen, eeeeek on the deer skeleton and LOL at the image of prospective buyers coming across 'parts' strewn
Colleen, big congrats on the new car! it sounds wonderful. Hey, you'll never hear anything about 'imports' from me, Honda Holly  and I've driven Geos /Toyotas for 20 years now. That is great that DH is rarin to go for the weight loss journey! does that make it easier for you? I know if my DH was on board, it would help me...as it is now, when I call home to see if I need to bring milk or anything home, he says 'oh, we're all out of cookies, chips, cake, pies, candy'. He's kidding, but also not kidding :dizzy: Tammy, I will hold myself from going overboard at first on jogging/running. I can't even call what I do 'running' yet. I will do the walk/jog intervals in addition to a video workout I think. I so so so need to somehow take care of all the stupid extra calories I have. But my new shoes feel so good! They're Adidas, not New Balance as I thought (the other pair I was considering were New Balance). I'm glad you have a running partner that is a friend of your DH's so no problem there. I am joyously anticipating a beautiful day here Thursday!! some more gloomy rain tomorrow but Thursday is supposed to be...sunny and maybe 70 degrees!! :carrot: and I have off :D I plan to do my "have to do list" tomorrow so I can ride around on Thursday. so let me ask you girls about riding solo. Like if you have a free day off, as I will, and you know the weather is going to be great..where do you go? I admit I would rather be with someone. Not that I'm afraid at all, or uncomfortable being by myself, but I would rather be riding with DH or a friend. I could pick a destination to have lunch, or a coffee, but I don't want food as the focus point of the ride. There are PLENTY of scenic roads around here (well, they're kinda brown and ugly now  ) that I could choose from. I guess I should just gear up and head out and see where I end up. does anyone here watch Lost? It can be so confusing but the characters are so vivid and the production values are like on the scale of a movie. |
Congrats Colleen on you new car, you won't get any crap from me either even though we only drive Fords- but you know what I am open minded and to each their own :) You have to find and buy what you like and not worrry about what others think .... I might be a little fisty tonight
Hey that is great the DH is thinking about his weight as well- It has helped me ALOT that DH has been following along and it has made cooking and shopping so much easier even though when I go shopping I ask him and he always says well nothing because you aren't going to buy what I really want anyways so nothing :) Tammy I bet you do love having your nails done- I love when I get mine done but then after about 2 months of maintaining them I get tired of it and have them taken off then I hate how my nails look - I do usually have them done for summer months though so I am thinking probably I will get them done again here in a couple more weeks :) Holly I do come home and get on my bike by myself and ride while everyone else is at work- I don't usually go to far by myself you know just in case something would happen I like to have someone to ride with :) I do however ride around here by myself, I to am not scared I just think if something would happen it is nice to have a riding partner with you... Nope I don't watch Lost I tried but got lost so quit watching it Well girls today I gave in and had a peanut butter rice krispie bar around 3pm and now I am not hungry for supper and DH is asking why so I told him - darn where did my will power go today :( I am going to get on treadmil and walk longer tonight well as soon as I get off here I can walk while I finish watching Biggest Loser, hopefully that will help and I will not gain anything this week Hi Hopeful8 and Wildfire hope we didn't scare you off Oh ya Holly have a great couple of days off girl |
Good Morning Ladies,
Colleen, no hard time from me on the car. It sounds nice. I drive an 06 Monte Carlo that is not worth 1/2 of what I owe on it b/c they don't make them anymore.... and Chevrolet stock..... so no grief from me. I am sorry that you have not found your WL groove yet, but hang in there. It will come. Holly, Okay I forgot to tell you what they told me about "running shoes". They only last about 6-9 months and you should only use them to run in. The reason is.... running shoes (the right kind) have a support system in them to absorb the shock (extra shock with me-- lol). But, that support system needs to "rest" in between runs to build back up.... kinda like a memory foam. And the reason for replacing them is b/c that system breaks down and does not protect like it should. You are doing awesome on the running..... I bet those  calories don't stand a chance! CC, You are doing great on the treadmill---- and one peanut butter thing is not going to kill you. I think when we got on our motorcycle trips I am going to get my nails done HOT pink! Lol. Okay, so..... we do not have boot camp on Wednesday. The guy I run on the treadmill and I (that are going to do a 5k in July) decided now is the time for us to start training seriously. So, we did. This AM we met with some other boot campers (the leaders and a few more) and did a "mock" 5., which is 3.1 miles. We did not run all 3.1 but we made it about 2.5. So, we have some to work on, but we know we can do it. Woo Hoo! It is not something that happened overnight..... I could not have done it this time last year, but little by little I am building up endurance. I really have no desire to run a marathon or a 1/2 marathon..... but I can do a 5k! Well, I need to get busy. I guess we did scare off the other 2..... :( |
I forgot to tell you Holly, that I do ride alone like on Friday afternoons. I do not go too far. Usually I just go about 30 miles around a "loop". I would not go to Memphis or anything. I cannot say it is not food related sometimes either. I would drive for a cup of coffee... Lol. I say GO FOR IT! In fact, I just found out that I am going to be off Friday...... so I will be riding some. Alone.

Birthday
I have found out that my co-workers are planning on "tricking" me somehow for my April Fool's birthday. I'm known to be the prankster around the office. I don't know what they are up to, but I'll be waiting for them! Any of you have any good April Fools pranks that you have pulled in the past? I'm always up for a new one!
I'm wishing that if I had a peanut butter rice krispie bar, that it would make me not hungry for supper! Instead it gives me a jump start for more eating! I have just been crazy craving chocolate lately. There's noting good in the house to eat anymore, except I know there are some Hershey bars I had gotten for DH. 2 down, 4 to go... Got to destroy the temptation by eliminating it. I'll stick the others in an Easter basket and give it away! Nothing much new here. Later. |
Hey Girls, I'm still around - just been working my buns off and haven't had time to catch up. I'll have a good read through on the weekend to catch up. You girls are prolific posters! :)
Hope everyone is doing well. Fantastic weather coming for the weekend! |
Happy Birthday Colleen :)
Hi girls! Well just got home from our ride today - it did get alittle chilly tonight on the way home but I was enjoying it because they are talking about going back into the 40's in the very near future with rain and then tonight someone was saying snow middle of next week????? Well tonight was our first Eagle Rider Group ride and we had 23 bikes and 1 vehicle with 32 people so what a turn out we had and I only got confirmation of 5 people showing up- Boy did we get the looks when we went through a couple of towns :) Well we leave on Friday for OK going to pick up DH's new bike (2009 Harley Ultra Classic) he just never knows what the heck he wants but I told him to get it figured out soon......We will see, you know men You know I usually don't do any jogging and if I do not much so usually my shoes will make it just about a year before buying a new pair Tammy you will do great at your 5K and you will be so ready for it this summer- I am so proud of all you have accomplished through this past year and girl you have accomplished alot so you deserve those HOT PINK nails :) I use to do mine with orange tips to match my white and orange bike but when I sold it I didn't do the color tips anymore, not sure why just haven't Well I am not getting treadmil time tonight but I will make up for it and Friday night tomorrow night- I did do over an hour last night to make up for my krispie bar- I just hope I don't gain ??? Wildfire glad you found your way back, hope to hear from you more but of course only as time allows we all know here how busy life is and can be :) Colleen I am not a big prankster but would have loved some ideas?? Yep send those hershey bars in the easter basket and get rid of them - ok well if they were in my house I would have had to enjoy a couple ok a few of them as well :) So what are everyones Easter Plans for the weekend? Not much here probably going to want to sleep all day since we are making this a quick trip to OK there on Friday pick up bike and home on saturday....Debating on whether to get something for the boys or not, they are really old enough but then feel quilty.......who knows what I will do Well girls have a great day |
April Fool's Day!
Here's a little fun for you for April Fool's Day.
Have innocent friends call this number: 413-497-0033 It is an April Fool's "gotcha" recording! Funny too. Call it yourself first to make sure it's appropriate (in your mind)--I think it's fine for most people. Have a little fun giving people different reasons to call that number! That is my trick of the day. Aren't I nice to have not used that on all you? I could easily have said that there is a phone coupon code for 75% off all cycle leathers IF you call.... Have fun. Thanks for the birthday wish Reda! 29 again! (45 seems too old!) |
