I'm heading out for my one-mile walk. It's only 45 out, so I'll be wearing a jacket. At least the sun is out. :sunny:

Annie, did you get your walk in?

annie175 03-23-2010 01:50 PM

Not yet Chelle, waiting on Nell to get out of her 1:00 meeting, probably go at 2:30 or so (EST).

happy2bme 03-23-2010 02:20 PM

well... I was planning on checking you out at lunch time but got called into an impromptu meeting. So much for that. Not sure if DH and I are going to a town meeting tonight - we should but he did not sleep well and is really tired.

Michelle - thanks for the advice on the shoe. You are sooooo right. I put my Reebok on today - a wide roomy shoe and it did feel like I stuffed it in. Within an hour I had it off and made an homemade foot warmer out of hot water and an old Dasani bottle. Don't use water right out of the hot water tap spigot as it will melt the bottle :yikes: Think of the dioxins in that water!!!!

My avatar is blooms from the Dogwood Tree. Got a white one in our backyard which will be blooming in another month or so. The pink ones are really the prettiest. Flowering trees are popping up all over here. Soon the sniffliing and sneezing will begin in earnest. Buy stock in Kleenex now!

Hope you guys are enjoying your walks in the nice weather. And if it's 45 degrees and you are out walking you deserve a special pat on the back! :cp:

I have to get ready for my 1:30 meeting. See yahs.

diyana 03-23-2010 02:55 PM

Happy - So sorry your foot didn't like being in a regular shoe. Just curious why you used a hot water bottle and not ice to reduce the swelling? Oh well, whatever works. DH and I love Dogwood trees, but we've never seen pink ones. We just planted a white one in our front yard - it's hard to find any variety that looks like a true Dogwood and is cold hardy enough for up here. I hope ours blooms this year. I know 45 sounds cold, but there was no wind and with the bright sunshine, I didn't even need a jacket on my walk (though I brought one just in case). I hope you choose to relax and rest your foot tonight.

annie175 03-23-2010 03:20 PM

AAAAaaahhhhhhh, just got back from the walk. It was a bit nippy out there, but wore my fleece jacket that wraps around me twice..it is my old jacket from when I weighed 306. It is probably the only thing I have left from the real "fat" days, as opposed to my "fat" days now. The sun was shining however a bit windy. Enjoyable.

annie175 03-23-2010 03:20 PM

and my froat is scratchy.

CAN YOU FIND THE KITTY???

HOPE THIS ISN'T TOO BIG WHEN I POST IT. THE BLDG IS SO QUIET YOU CAN HEAR THE NOTHING!!!! I AM LOVING THE SILENCE. I THINK ALL THE SENIORS ARE ASLEEP. JEN SAYS THE HALLS ARE EMPTY!!! THIS AFTERNOON IT IS FINALLY DRYING UP A BIT. N.J. IS GETTING READY TO HAVE AN ARK BUILDING CONTEST THIS WEEKEND IF IT DOESN'T. I BETTER GOOGLE A CUBIT. :rain: OR FIND SOME WATER WINGS FOR MY CHAIRS! :swim:

HAPPY....MAYBE A NICE SANDAL FROM QVC WHERE IT FITS THE FOOT ON THE BOTTOM AND IS SUEDE ON TOP? I FORGET THEIR NAMES. JEN LOVES THEM. I AM SORRY YOU CANNOT FIND SOMETHING COMFY....WHEN YOU COME HERE YOU CAN GO BAREFOOT OR SLIPPER SOCKS!!!

ANNIE....NO CRADLE ROBBING EITHER....NO MATTER WHAT COLOR THEY ARE....THEY ARE JAIL BAIT!
YOU BETTER FIND SOMETHING TO EAT IN THOSE 15 MINUTES...YOU KNOW IT'S NOT GOOD TO KEEP MISSING MEALS :rollpin:

MICHELLE.....LOTS OF ZUMBA MIGHT BE GOOD TO CLEAR THE HEAD  YOU CAN SHAKE OUT ALL THOSE WORKING THOUGHTS!!

 TO LAURA & CEEJAY AND SHAD.

annie175 03-23-2010 03:52 PM

MELLIE...I thought they were only jail bait if they were UNDER 21...lol

Laura705 03-23-2010 04:19 PM

I'm back to get my pat on the back from Happy - I walked at lunchtime today. :D Not too far, but I walked. Of course I would know how far if I remembered to bring my pedometer with me... It's sunny, but chilly down here by the lake, and a bit breezy. And with all these tall buildings, there's a lot of shade, so it was cool - had the gloves on. But it's definitely better than subzero wind chill factors!!

Shad - Sounds sad to see those fire-ravaged areas. But the garden show had a display sponsored by a company that restores land that's become overgrown with non-native plant/tree species, and it uses controlled fires to do it. Our forest preserve people do it too. It does occur on it's own in nature, but it's sad when populated areas - animals and humans are victims. L

Mel - Thanks for the nap, I need another! Sure, you can have the Easter Egg roll on my lawn, but just watch out for those lawn sausages (courtesy of my boy Coal). Eeew.

Annie - Good job w/ the walking. For not being that far away, Indy weather seems a lot milder than Chicago weather. I think I just have to get away from the lake...

Michelle - Good job to you for walking as well! And you're certainly keeping busy w/ the Zumba classes. We eat tacos enough at home for me to resist the urge to stop at Taco Bell, but the temptation is still there! BTW, I heated the last bit of that chicken/bean recipe in a soft tortilla the other day and it was delicious! I put boneless/skinless chicken thighs on the shopping list so I can make another batch of that!

Ceejay - Good idea for you and Annie to do that 30 day shred together! Hold each other to it! I do have allergies, and they will be kicking in more than usual once stuff starts growing around here. I need to make sure I have enough eye drops, since my usual meds don't help the watery/itchy eyes. They're a pain to use since I have to put the drops in and then wait about 10 min. before I put my contact lenses in - kind of goofs up my whole morning routine because I have to put my contacts in before starting up w/ the face, hand and body lotions!

Happy - I hope the swelling goes down so you can get back to regular footwear. I hope your car appt doesn't turn into something expensive!

My upper body was so sore yesterday. Ugh. I walked home from the train station, then went w/ dh & doggy for a walk. At one point tripped over doggy's rear paw and strained my right hamstring, the usual troublemaker. Came home and did part of MR's Sculpture dvd lower body workout - I did calves, quads and inner/outer thighs and skipped glutes, hamstrings & abs. My legs were tired! Watched Dancing w/ the Stars and Castle.

Tonight's selected movie is Green Zone w/ Matt Damon (my 2nd choice). My 1st choice was Alice in Wonderland. I'm not sure I'm up for another war movie (after watching Hurt Locker on Sat.), so I might skip tonight. I've been waking up w/ sore throats for the past few days, so I just better try and get enough rest and movie nights usually mean I don't get to bed at a reasonable time... Yeh, I'll skip it. I'll do a dog walk and the rest of that MR lower body workout.

Okay, back to work. Have a good rest of the day!

ceejay52 03-23-2010 07:29 PM

It has turned out to be a gorgeous day.

Mel
If I'm seeing correctly the kitten is hanging on for dear life on the arm. Here's hoping the seniors will continue to be calm so you can enjoy your peac and quite.

Laura and Michelle
You two are doing good and getting your walks in during the day.

Laura
I'd like to see Alice in Wonderland.

Annie
Thursday's would be a good time for me to do the Shred. I'll have to hook up my dvd player.

Happy
Try to get a good night's sleep tonight. And keep your foot propped up as much as possible.

Shad
When do you get to go home this week?

Got sick last night right before going to bed with an episode of collitis. The only thing that could have set this one off is the dried fruit. I looked on line this mornig for low residue things that I can eat. I'm starving as the only thing solid I've had to eat is crackers. I probably should be on a liquid diet for 3 to 5 day's. I have a couple of ulcers on my colon. I almost decided to skip work today.

happy2bme 03-24-2010 08:04 AM

Hi all,

Supposed to be a pretty day outside - will have to try and get out and get a few minutes of sunshine.

Ceejay - hope you feel better today. Didn't realize that dried fruit could bother you. Sometimes the insides are so sensitive.

Laura - I would love to see Alice in Wonderland. The costumes and make up look amazing. Pat on the back to you for going out and taking a walk at lunch!

Mel - sending you some gentle breezes and nice warm sunshine to dry you out. No fun shopping in the rain.

Michelle - I used a warm bottle on my foot because at first it made it feel better. Did a warm soak last night too but it didn't do any good. I hate ice - I get cold so easily but I have to say, since the heat did no good, you are probably right about the ice instead. Thanks for the tip. Did you Zumba last night?

Annie - I hope you feel better too. Sounds like you are getting a bit run down. Don't forget to take care of yourself first, 'k?

Shad - that sounds so sad about the Sanctuary. However Mother Nature is resilliant although I have seen patches of woodlands scarred by fire - though not as bad as you describe and it is a very troubling site. Are things winding down nicely this week or are you going loony tunes?

That's all I have to say for now. Gotta get out of here and into the office. Everyone have a good hump day - don't forget to put out the trash ;)

diyana 03-24-2010 09:13 AM

Happy mid-week ladies -

Last night, I did 15 minutes of the treadmill and 1/2 hour Zumba class. Tonight, I have website work to do - changes to the one I worked on over the weekend, but I'm hoping to get it done and then get to the gym. I'm also planning on walking at lunch time. No walking tomorrow as it's going to get cold again. :brr:

I just found out that DH has to work both days this weekend. I'm a little bummed about it, but I'll find stuff to do to keep me busy: Website work, grocery shopping, cleaning and laundry...but there will also be time for fun stuff like Zumba on Saturday, and playing (or napping) with the doggies. He also has to work on Good Friday. My company is giving us Good Friday afternoon off, and I took the morning off as vacation. I might still take the time off...and just have a "me" day (or do the same stuff as listed above - website, cleaning, groceries, laundry, Zumba and play with doggies).

Annie - I hope your throat is feeling better now. Maybe it's the pollen in the air? Don't let yourself get sick now.

Mel - Hopefully you'll get to see some sun today. I thought Jail Bait was 18 or under? Seriously though...if I'm old enough to be his mama, I ain't interested. This chick is no cougar! Zumba is a great stress reliever and a good way to shake all the worrysome thoughts out of my head. :)

Laura - Good for you for walking! A big pat on the back for you! Seems like it's always cold, shady and windy in Chicago around all those tall buildings. In your backyard, you call 'em lawn sausages, I call 'em land mines. You sure had lots of aches. My doggies tend to put their paws where I can either step on them, trip on them or seriously hurt myself to avoid hurting them. Good for you for doing some lower body sculpting. I DVR'ed Dancing with the Stars, but I haven't watched it yet - and I missed the first half-hour cuz I forgot to schedule it and I didn't get home from the gym until after it had started. How did Buzz Aldrin do? I would expect Chad OchoCinco to do pretty well. I REALLY want to see Alice in Wonderland too. Too bad we don't live closer or we could go together.

Ceejay - So glad you're having nice weather finally. Sorry to hear you're sick with colitis - maybe you should've skipped work until things calm down. As for the kitten, I think it's hanging onto the arse, not the arm.

Happy - You should definitely get out and enjoy the sunshine, even if you have to find a place to sit rather than walk. As for Alice in Wonderland...wouldn't it be great if you, Laura and I (and any other chicks) could find somewhere to meet and go see it together?! Warmth/heat will increase blood flow, but it also tends to increase swelling. Ice, on the other hand, reduces swelling and reduces pain. Most people hate ice, but Rest-Ice-Compression-Elevation (R.I.C.E) is often the best treatment for foot pain. Yes, I Zumba'ed last night and may again tonight...if I can get the website files fixed in time.

Shad - I hope you have smooth sailing for the rest of the time on the project and getting everything ready to go home...and then, of course, safe travels back home.

Back to work for me....I'll check in later.

Love and hugs,

annie175 03-24-2010 10:11 AM

Good Morning Chickies of the World..

Yes indeed, a humping day with trash services. Um...I hate to even say this but....eCVS has struck again. We will see. It is getting to be a joke and kind of fun. At least he drives a really awesome 4-wheel drive truck..lol

MELLIE..Wowser..on the men.. I will take a 43-45 yr old dark haired w/goateed cutie please. YUM

Happy...it is supposed to be a pretty day here today. 65 and sunny however still waiting on the sun to come out. I put the trash out last night between jobs for today's pick up. All done.

Ceejay...Shouldn't we do Jillian more than just Thursdays or are you just saying you can start that day also? Hope you are feeling better by now.

Laura...good job on walking. Amazing what a few miles further south can do for the weather. I would of gone to see Alice in Wonderland, especially since I have already seen it and it was good. Wink.

Chelle...I am sure your weekend will not be boring as you ALWAYS find something to do. Maybe extra exercising or just taking a hot candle lit bubbly with a glass of wine, a little YOU time. Even if only 30 minutes, do it. Not only are you exercise queen, now you also hold the Zumba queen title. You are truly amazing. Don't think cause DH is working that no one is watching you, I can see you so don't cheat on food. My kids still swear I have eyes in the back of my head.

Shaddie..all packed? ready to go home? where is your next gig?

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Love and hugs,

Laura705 03-24-2010 12:58 PM

Hi everyone!

Annie - another eCVS date? Who knows, you might find a nice guy if you kiss enough frogs, so to speak.

Mel - So it went from very quiet yesterday to all kinds of excitement this morning? You knew it wouldn't last!

Michelle - I don't mind having a weekend to myself every once in a while - get some nice me time. Hope you can get to the gym tonight. On DWTS, Buzz & his partner had the lowest score. He's not much of a dancer, but it's great to see an 80-year old out there. I hope he inspires others to try dancing! I missed the first hour, so I didn't see Ochocinco dance.

Happy - I love that pink dogwood avatar. Very pretty. Hope you get out and enjoy the sun today. It does feel good, doesn't it?

Ceejay - I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Shad - hope all is going well in the home stretch of your assignment.

I didn't go w/ bf and doggy for a walk after work yesterday. I finished the rest of the lower body workout and that was it. Then I watched tv and read a bit. Bit of a ho hum night. Tonight I'll walk doggy if it's not raining. I'll exercise again, since last night was limited to glutes, hamstrings and abs. I have the pedometer today! I'm at 3108 steps or 1.47 miles so far today. Not sure how much I'll walk at lunch, if at all.

Okay, I'm outta here! Have a great rest of the day everyone!

happy2bme 03-24-2010 01:46 PM

Well slap my head and call me southern. I ate cornmeal grits for lunch today. I was supposed to have lunch with a friend but he took ill so we had to reschedule. I walked into the cafeteria and they had a guest chef from the corporate office location (you know, the one with the water fountain outside and the much better food ;) ). He was making his special shrimp and grits with chipolte sauce. I wasn't sure at all about this but they had samples and it was really good. Cooked cornmeal is only 2 pts for a 1 cup serving so it wasn't that deadly points wise. I went out into the sun for a few minutes to call Mom and chastise her for downloading stuff on her cell phone - actually I think it's a mistake but the idea of my 83 year old Mom texting and downloading Metallic ring tones is really funny to me. It's really nice outside. I do wish I could walk a bit. Can't sit outside because the smokers (evil people) are stinkin' up the place. It would be nice if they enforced the rule of no smoking within 25 feet of the entrances. I have nothing against the smokers - there is a nice patio area in the back of the building for them, just some rebels (mostly contractors) refuse to use the "designated areas" and our facilities people do nothing about anything facility related here.

I saw a little bit of DWTS yesterday. Chad was in a 3 way tie for 6th place - not so good. I expected Nicole to do well - tall, gorgeous, looks great in clothes and as the lead kitty Cat Doll - if she can't follow dance training, she needs to hang up her tail - she came in #1 if I remember correctly. Cheryl Burke (the dancer) is my favorite - was hoping she would last longer with Chad who might make up for a lack of skill with determination and dedication. I guess Kate Gosslin or whatever her name is - is being a diva and coming to practice late. Not a favorite on either side of the fence I guess.

They were supposed to power wash the 2nd floor of our house - the wood and panels and DH said they power washed everything including the brick on the first floor, the garage and the walks. That power washer must be fun to operate! Of course it is sunny and relatively warm out and I guess I'd rather be doing that then pulling apart wood trim and dealing with bees and termites and such :yikes: Cost us $250 for the car yesterday. The kid who brought it to us popped it into 4 wheel drive and I so rarely use it that I could not get it out. DH tried and ground the gears - I wanted to say no, no I don't need your help after all! He thought something might be messed up with the differential so he had the service guy look at it. Took 4 guys trying but they finally got it out of 4WD. I think I could have figured it out if they let me, but no, I had to stand there and look blond and dumb. :p

So Laura what do you do with Coal when you go on vacation? Or do you vacation at home? There's actually alot to do in the 3 state area for an over night drive and I find that vacationing that requires flying is no longer interesting to me.

Speaking of vacation Mom and SIL are both really excited about the beach vacation. :beach: It makes me giggle to think of both of them. I hope it does not disappoint.

Good luck on the latest date Annie. There has to be someone somewhere, just can't advise you where to find them. I know if I was alone here, I'd be... well... alone. I am not a church monger, or a Republican and the only "at risk" youngin's I'm willing to volunteer with are covered with fur and don't wear pants. :lol3: That takes me out of the eligible pool of fine, upstanding young men.

I don't know if any of your watch the show The Marriage Ref. Last week they had this really cute couple who had been married for 35 years. He just retired and they were at an impasse as to where to move. He wanted to move to Howe, Indiana and go live in Amish country where it was peaceful and quiet (and boring). She on the other hand, said she needed excitement in her life and wanted to move to Los Angeles (he said she was star struck). I sitting there thinging geez, if you go to LA, you will spend most of your retirement buying a tiny stucco shanty in the outskirts of the area and within a year, all your money will be gone - can you say crazy crazy cost of living???? In the end the celebrity panel (Martha Stewart, Jason Alexander and Cedrik the Entertainer) sided with the wife only because they thought the husband was very easy going and would take it in stride if he didn't get his way (which was TRUE) and the wife would make his life a living miserable :censored: if she didn't get her way and had to move among the Amish (which was also true). They were a very cute couple so Annie remember looks aren't everything! She had on this funky sweater with these bizzare ribbon looking flowers across the top. Martha said she could show her how to craft prettier flowers for her sweather  It's fun and light entertainment which is what I need after a hard day at the office.

Oops Mom is calling me back. Gotta run. Sorry to take up your time babbling.

Happy..you are too funny, and amazingly I got it the first time you posted it, I am not really blonde. lololololol

diyana 03-24-2010 04:20 PM

Mel - Sounds like you had yourself a smorgasbord of eye candy! Nice!! ;)

Annie - eCVS again, huh? So when are you going out with this guy? Is this one a 43-45 yr old dark haired goateed cutie? Be careful, girlfriend....I'm hoping and praying he's not creepy like the other dude. I think I've talked DH into seeing Alice on Sunday for an "early" anniversary, providing he's not too tired after working all weekend. If he is, then we'll go out Thursday night. He just found out he doesn't have to work Friday! Yay! I'm not sure I deserve the Zumba queen title yet, but I'm getting there. Maybe after I can do an hour long advanced class without wanting to collapse. Glad to hear I'll have you watching me this weekend to keep me on track.

Laura - Sorry that Buzz had the lowest score on DWTS. But I give him props for trying. Good for you for logging your steps and all the exercise you're getting in the evenings.

Happy - Your lunch sounds really good...and I'm not even a big fan of grits. My company strictly enforces the smoking areas...at least during normal business hours. Sometimes when I get in at oh-dark early, there might be one smoker by the door. I get past him quickly so it doesn't bother me too much. I really like Cheryl Burke too. Hopefully he'll improve. I hate Kate Gosselin. Why would the kid put your car in 4 wheel drive when it's not snowy? :dunno: I'm glad it's out of 4x4 now. I haven't watched the Marriage Ref yet. It sounds like it's better than I thought it would be.

Well, time for this chick to head home. Yay!

Love and hugs,
Michelle

 I think there is a porno filter on 3FC. My comment about Nicole S on Dancing With the Stars got modified. She's with the musical group Prissy Cat Dolls - well not really the word prissy but kinda close to that and I see that 3FC changed one of the words to Kitty :lol3:

and Michelle - I'm not sure what the kid was doing that brought my car but he somehow popped it into 4 wheel drive by accident. Maybe he wanted to see what happened if he hit the right combo of buttons? Maybe he didn't understand that the BIG handle with PRNDL was the transmission instead of the small knob next to it that was H4, L4 and N???? He admitted he was the oil change guy - apparently you don't have to know how to drive to change oil (but it helps :D ) Anyway he was red-faced and very apologetic. Have a good Zumba night.

Annie - I'm glad you got the joke - I am preparing you for eCVS in case one of the "fellers" tries to bedazzle you with B.S. Hope he turns out to be ok, meet him out front and go across the street for coffee until you can run his prints.

Happy
I started out watching Dancing with the Stars. I must have fallen asleep on the couch while Buzz Aldan was dancing. I give the 80 year old and A for effort. I diffinately do not like Kate Gosslin's long hair. It looks fake.

Annie
We can start Thursday, tomorrow, just set the time. I am going to try and sleep a little later in the morning. I'm going to try the upside down pizza next week.

Michelle
To bad that your dh is having to work on the week end. I'm off this week end but will have to work Easter Sunday.

Laura
I forgot to wear my pedometer today. I'm averaging 2 miles per day. I'd still like to know if you have to do all those steps at one time. I need to start doing more strength exercises.

Mel
Oh my, all those men in uniforms! i would have let one of them take me off on a stretcher. I thought about you this morning. Our insurance meeting was held at the fire department. Not a one of them in a uniform.

Had a busy day at work. From 7-7.30 a.m. we had an insurance meeting, then started the process of draining one of the elevated tanks. It took around 4 and a half hours to drain a 500,000 gallon tank. It went to the system and to the other two elevated tanks. After this I had to watch the guages to find out when the pumps came on and went off. I'm worn out.
Stopped by the gas station to fill up the car with gas and came home and guess what was greeting me at the door. It was almost on the porch--you got it a snake about a foot long. I think it's dead which is causing me some concern (for paybacks etc) I've search the admistrative sight on the camera's but to no avail I still can't find where to rewind those things. So first thing in the morning I'm going to call ADT. It may have crawled up there and some one stomped it. I'm curious. It's been warm the past couple of days. And thank goodness that there was enough daylight left for me to see it. My daddy uses to say where there is one there is a mate.

Good morning ladies,

I have an early morning meeting today so that is the big super challenge to get to work on time for it. Think she will make it? :chin: Not if I keep sitting here

Will catch up with you at lunch.

P.S. I guess I sent all the sunshine up by Mel. It's raining here again. Sorry Ceejay :(

diyana 03-25-2010 09:10 AM

Happy Thursday/Friday -

I'm tired and my muscles are sore. I did an hour of advanced Zumba last night, which included lots of arm work. Tonight is 1/2 hour Zumba and 1/2 hour Strength Training. Heaven help me if we do a lot of arms stuff in the Strength Training class. It's a chilly day here today, very windy and highs only in the low 40s. And since I have a meeting right before WW and no time after, I may have to skip my lunchtime walk, but I'm sure I'll be going up and down the stairs a lot. Oh, I forgot to mention...last week at my doctor appt, I got the results of my fasting blood work: Blood Sugar and HA1C - just fine; Cholesterol - great (admittedly I am on cholesterol meds...but at least they're doing the trick); HDL (good) cholesterol - better than it's ever been (thank you Zumba!). :dancer: All the other stuff they checked was really good too! :woohoo:

Happy - Too funny about 3FCs filter changing the kitty cat doll band name!

Annie - I agree with Happy...definitely meet up with any eCVS dudes in public places. Did I mention that I met DH through a personal ad he placed 20+ years ago? Heck, even though I liked him from the start, it wasn't until our 4th or 5th date that I let him know where I lived. Just can't be too careful.

Ceejay - Bummer that you have to work Easter Sunday. Do you get extra holiday pay at least? Good for you for all that walking, and I look forward to a report on how the 30 day shred is going for you and Annie. A snake by my front door, whether dead or alive, would've startled me to pieces. And in general I like snakes and other reptiles...I just don't like to be surprised by them. I'll bet Mel is right, it was sick and just found a nice place to go to forever sleep.

Mel - Enjoy your relaxing day with Jen!

Shad - When do you start the long drive home? Wishing you very safe travels.
I'm still tracking my food, counting points, drinking water and eating fruits and veggies. I skipped the crunches and planks yesterday, as the Advanced Zumba class is hard enough.

Well, I'd better get some stuff done. I'll check back in later!

Luvya girlfriends,

annie175 03-25-2010 09:52 AM

Morning all...I feel like poo. My throat is killing me, no voice, chest heavy like an elephant is sitting on it, head is splitting and all I wanna do is sleep which is kind of impossible here at work.

One of my BFs lost her job this past Monday after 30 years. She is devastated. SHe was the Retail Marketing & Trade Show Manager for Audiovox, first with Thomson/RCA then Audiovox bought out Thomson/RCA. Her son's wife left him this past Monday also. I told her she has had her one day to "whoa is me", now on to the positive side of things. My boss here has given me a lead for her, also my brother's company has already been considering her for a position. Good things to come.

A Purdue college student was found in his car in a retention pond in an elite neighborhood. Apparently drove into the pond and drown. Not sure the cause as he was leaving a party and also had just had hernia surgery days before. ANYWAY, that family is personal friend's with my boss. My boss has come into the office the past two days with bloodshot eyes from crying. Bless her heart.

So when visiting momma last night, I said, looks like your are getting a new roommate as her other one went home. She said yes and she hoped it was a man cause she was gonna rape him. I about passed out laughing. Keep in mind momma can only move her right arm, hand and scoot her legs around on the bed. She is a hoot. I told her not to as she might get preggers with twins. lol

eCVS....the guy has not called me yet so no worries. Heck he may not even call at all. I am down with the meeting up at places before making any other arrangements.

Ceejay...I am going to postpone my start of the 30 day shred as I can barely breath and want to go to bed when I get home. I am just run down.

Chelle...you Zumba momma you....glad the tests came back good. THat in itself makes a person feel better. It is 40s and windy here today also. No wonder I am sick.

MELLIE..I can't vouch for eWalgreens however since eCVS and eWalgreen's are usually across the corner from each other, it is probably the same "men pool", so Jen would have her pickins. lol

Happy..get your heiny movin' and get to work....

Shaddie...must be traveling, be safe sista.

Laura...trust me, not only have I kissed enough frogs, they have given me one hellava chest cold, plus laryngitis. Men..sheesh..are they good for ANYTHING??? Well maybe one thing, and that isn't all that good.~wink~

Hey to anyone I missed, going to heat up my green tea w/honey. I have let it get too cool.

Love and sanitary hugs.

diyana 03-25-2010 10:54 AM

Annie - I hope you feel better very, very soon. No chance you can take a sick day off work so you can rest? I hope you don't have to work at CVS. You need lots of rest and lots of liquids - good for you with the green tea and honey. Sending lots of healing  and :goodvibes: your way. Take it easy, girlfriend.

annie175 03-25-2010 11:15 AM

I could take a sick day but don't feel sick enough to stay home. Does that make sense? Probably not. I would rather be here at work and contaminate everyone else. lol

happy2bme 03-25-2010 01:49 PM

ok, lunch-a-bunch time. Munching on some leftover grilled chicken with a divine mustard sauce, steamed broccoli with garlic crumbs and a few bits of leftover baked potato with dill seasoning. I would have shared if you asked  Annie - I will give you my garden vegetable soup since I'm stuffed and you could probably use it.

Please don't infect your co-workers and customers. There is a very nasty thing going around town here that is making people really sick with sinunitis and bronchitis. The kind of thing that comes back around again after you think you got rid of it. I don't want to go out in public. So go home Annie, take some Nyquil and zonk out for about 10 hours. You'll be chipper in time for the weekend. Your momma story was a real hoot!

Michelle - careful with those arms tonight. I know it was just probably enthusiastic swinging but you have to give the muscles a chance to heal. Don't make more tears with weights. I'm sure you can pace yourself. I'm so glad your numbers are good with the blood tests. That's a bit of a reinforcement and a positive motivator. Results!! :cp: I hope you have a good WI today.

Mel - I hope you and Jen have some nice quiet time together today. No, Mom did not download anything - both of us knew she wouldn't have the foggiest, but I had to ask before I chewed someone out in customer service :D Perhaps if Jen is on her own, you can both go shopping at Trader Joe's for new ones. Or just wander over to the firestation and ask them if anyone needs lotion applied -skin must be rough and dry under all those heavy suits

Ceejay - I have read on several occasions that you don't have to do a mile walk all at once. In fact some believe that multiple sessions of 10 to 15 minutes are even better for you than a single bout. I would agree, if eating mini meals several times a day is good, so would exercise I think.

Laura - are you off today or just really busy?

Shad - did we lose you in the packing materials or are you busy writing 15 different handbooks?

I know we aren't supposed to talk about politics but the antics in Washington have me really worried. We are becoming a country divided with some putting words in other's mouths and bulldozing things and threats and all sorts of ugly stuff. I sincerely wonder between all the issues and the weather and natural disasters, are we really coming to an end of days? If anyone knows, let me know because if that's the case, I'm going for one last super vacation to spend the retirement and I think I'll have one last pack of smokes - away from the entrance door of course ;)

time for me to get back to work. See yah.

annie175 03-25-2010 02:16 PM

Happy...I often wonder if it is the end of times myself or at least getting there. Maybe there is something to the December 2012 thing. I tell you, I have never felt as close to God as I have in the past few months and the things I have been praying for are so out of character for me, it is all good, but new to me. I have even been listening to a Christian radio station (at home, work and in the car) for a couple of months and really really really liking it. Something is compelling me towards a deeper relationship with HIM. I know this is a heavy subject but whatever it is, I am liking it.

diyana 03-25-2010 02:48 PM

I had a great Weight Watchers meeting. I'm down 1.8 lbs from last week! :woohoo: I've got a long way to go yet, but I'm thrilled about the loss this week! Yay, Weight Watchers! Yay, Zumba! :dancer:

Annie - So nice that your BFF is likely to get a job really soon! So very, very sad about the college student. Your mom is sooo funny!

Happy - Your lunch sounds delish! I had a big salad with lots of veggies and a little chicken, plus a small cup of Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup (like the original kind except spicier and with bean sprouts). It was really yummy. We have some nasty illnesses going around here too: some people have bronchitis, and others have big time stomach ailments. Thanks for the advice about letting my muscles heal, I'll make sure I don't do much upper body work tonight...or if I do, I'll go easy. Like you, I don't like how divided the country has been for sooo many years. I think the threats, and acts, of violence against those who voted in favor of the healthcare bill are a bit extreme. I mean, seriously people, whether you agree or disagree....express your opinion verbally not violently, and most of all exercise your right to vote, which so very few Americans do. I've always been of the belief that if you don't bother to vote, you don't get the right to b*tch. As for the end of days...I don't know...but if it is, I wanna go on a great vacation and eat LOTS of fattening food before I go.

Well, got more stuff to finish up before I leave.

annie175 03-25-2010 03:07 PM

Chelle>>>>very Excited About Your Loss!!!

annie175 03-25-2010 03:08 PM

D*mn girl, you are so awesome! Keep on fighting the fight. You know you know how to do it and you are doing it.....

I agree with all y'all on the political and end of times stuff....YIKES

annie175 03-25-2010 03:09 PM

Your reward for this past week's loss, you get to drink another glass of water!!! hehe

ceejay52 03-25-2010 03:17 PM

Annie
Sounds like you have been watching celebrity weight loss with Ian Smith. Those were his words. What time are we working out today?

annie175 03-25-2010 03:27 PM

Chelle...wow, I have not been watching celebrity weight loss and don't know Ian Smith, that is scary. I am not working out tonight, actually I am leaving here in about 30 minutes, going by CVS to get some Mucinex Chest, going home and going to bed. My head is pounding and my eyes are burning a bit, much like MELLIE's eyes, I suppose. Most certain EVERYONE is sick of hearing me cough. Oh Whoa is me, boo hoo hooo,

ceejay52 03-25-2010 03:28 PM

Happy
It does look like we could be in the so called "last days" but no man knows for sure the exact time only GOD knows.

Annie
I understand about not wanting to the Shred especially if you are sick. I may go walking at the center in a few minutes.

annie175 03-25-2010 03:28 PM

Geez, I answered to Chelle when it was Ceejay that posted. See how sick I am. YIKES.

ceejay52 03-25-2010 03:29 PM

Annie
Hope you feel better soon.

Laura705 03-25-2010 03:45 PM

Hey everyone. Have plenty to do at work and probably should not be here, but what the heck...

Happy – What a hassle w/ that kid getting your car stuck in 4WD! I hope it doesn’t cause problems down the road. I get annoyed w/ the smokers too – all the restrictions on where they can’t smoke, they must have all decided to walk around the block when they do it – and I get stuck walking behind them. I’m sure I’ve griped about this to everyone, including our dept’s admin asst – and it turns out she smokes! She’s only in her mid-20’s – what possesses someone that age to take up smoking given the known health risks and the cost?! If end of days is near, I’ll use all those blank checks the credit card companies send me and charge up to and beyond my credit card limits and have a grand old time.

Ceejay – Ugh, a snake!! I’m sure it’s preferable that the more steps that are aerobic, the better because the heart & lungs are getting a workout. My pedometer shows total steps and aerobic steps, the latter of which I think are counted only after one’s been walking a certain amount of time – can’t recall the specifics. My walking varies – walking around the house and office, walking to/from the train (10 minute trips), and walking doggy (20-30 min). Hey, if it’s burning calories, it’s good enough for me!

Michelle – You’re doing so great w/ the exercise! I read an article in the paper yesterday that said to studies show that to maintain weight/avoid weight gain, women need to exercise 420 min. per week – yup, an hour every day! Lesser amounts, however, are enough to provide other health benefits. Good job on those great blood test results!! Congrats on your weight loss!! :) :) :)

Annie – Sorry you’re feeling lousy…or are you just trying to get out of that 30 day shred??? Better not be! :nono: Feel better soon. I know what you mean when you say you don’t feel sick enough to stay home. Who knows – the next day or week you could feel 20x worse. I hope your friend lands a new job soon. Too too funny what your mother said about a new roommate!! Now I know where you get it from!!!! I think tough times are when people find God, or other faith or spirituality in which to gain comfort and strength. One of the bloggers posted today about this verse today and I like the way it sounds: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22

Mel – I’m glad things are quiet again by you. Will that iced tea put you in a warm springy/summery place? Enjoy!

Hey there Shad!! Those folks must be squeezing every last minute of work out of you that they can!

I had another one of those weird headaches in the late morning. I logged it again. So glad it went away quickly. I did an internet search and it seems there’s something called “menstruation migraines” due to a drop in estrogen or something. TOM's here this week - hoping that’s not what it is. Definitely not like the typical tension headache I get every once in a while…

Last night I took doggy for a walk w/ bf. Steps for the day totaled 9,121. I didn’t do any other exercise except a set of pushups. I watched a short bit of tv, then tried and failed at the Sudoku and jumble puzzles in the paper. :tantrum: Watched part of an old movie in bed and of course fell asleep before the end. Nothing planned for tonight. Okay, more work awaits so I better get this posted!
