Good morning to you all! Looks like we are warming up again some but it is still dismal looking outside. I would love some nice sun!

Maggie: I haven't been going to WW because these meds keep putting on lbs. I can't see paying money just to see the scale go the wrong direction when I know I am eating properly. I hope that February is grand weight loss month for you. I will be glad when they sort me out and then I can get back on track. I had problems , a lot of problems last night and didn't get any sleep until after one then up at 5 so I am pooped today. Hope RM and hubby are doing well. Oh, if I didn't tell you, I picked up the cookbooks and they are terrific. They have some great recipes in them.

Jean: Hope you day out getting spruced up for your trip turns out well. I think I would have to start at 1 minute a session! For one thing, I am taking meds that specifically tell you to stay out of the sun, but I am also so fair that I burn just thinking about it. I know one thing, we book the cruise and I plan on buying a giant economy size bottle of sunscreen!

Susan: What a nice thing for your neighbor to do. We have a couple really nice neighbors too. One night a couple weeks ago, someone comes to the back door and knocks and it is the neighbor across the street. He said he knew we didn't ever leave our garage door up and it had been up for a long time. I guess, though we shut it, something got in front of the sensor and stopped it and we didn't notice it before coming inside.

I guess I better get going gals. Fortune is barking to be let out. Have a grand Tuesday! Faye

Talking February 2

GOOD EARLY AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

Magnonlias I didn't do as bad as I thought I would at weigh in. I never know anyway. When I think I have been really good and it doesn't show up on the scale I have learned not to trip but I still don't like it. And when I think maybe I won't show a loss ~ VOILA ~ Well last night I did show a tiny loss but any loss is good. Point 2 was my loss, which makes my total loss for January to be ~ drum roll ~ 4.4 pounds gone. I just squeeze out those little weight points but eventually they do add up to a loss. I dearly want to live in the desert. This moist weather sure does a number on my knee.

DONNA FAYE I am sure you will find some good recipes in those books that you will use. I bought a new book out at WW last night that looks good. It is called "Slow Cook It" with 165 all new slow cooker recipes (so it says.) Anyway I plan on doing more cooking in my crock pot and this will be a help for sure. What I don't like though is they have changed the size of these paperbacks. This latest book is a bit wider and shorter. Go figure. Will and the dogs are doing fine. Ragg Mopp is such a little beggar. He does it so cute though.

JEAN What a treat to get a pedicure. Make your pinkies look good in sandals. I also have real fair skin and cooked myself real brown in my younger days. Slathered on that Coco Butter and fried in the sun. Now I am back to pale and dealing with sun damage. But, you know what, I had a georgeous tan and looked so good in those short white tennis shorts. Now I am old and fat and white skinned and don't wear short shorts nor play tennis. I WAS a California girl having fun in the sun.

SUSAN Hope all is well with you this day.

Type at y'all later.

Good morning ladies! It is supposed to be cool but a nice day today. I just keep having more trouble with this female stuff. I am suspecting it is now medication more than anything. I still have a few estrogen pills left and can't get in until the 18th but I am tired of having these problems and the pain. I can't function when the cramping is at its worst and it comes out of nowhere. I was fine this morning and all of a sudden here comes the hard cramping and the spotting stuff. I ended up in the chair with two heating pads and ibuphrophen in me. I am still not pain free, but I have things to do and have to get them done today in pain or not. The thing is, they put me on the hormones to stop the pain and the bleeding and seems like it has made it much worse. You can't get ahold of the doctor, I suspect they don't give them the messages when I call to tell the truth, because my doctor is really really good about calling me with test results and such she wants to discuss with me.

Maggie: Here is a little party for your losses... I know you are so glad you are losing. I have a crockpot lowfat cook book and some recipes are good and a lot not so much. Fortune is funny that way too. He knows the sound of the crinkling of chip bags. If Jack gets up and makes himself a ff chip snack, Fortune's ears perk up when he hears him get the bag out of the pantry they he zooms out to the kitchen and then follows Jack into the living room to wait for some. It is hilarious to watch.

I have to call Thomas this weekend to find out what snacks he wants to take next weekend. I have to order the mystery supper tickets this weekend so we have them too. The other stuff we can get the tickets when we get there. I searched for fun places to eat that aren't different than what we have here in town.

Well gals, I need to get upstairs and get some work done. I may have to do it in stages so I guess I better get started. Have a wonderful hump day! Faye

Good Morning, Flowers! No sunshine this morning and it is cold outside. A wintry mix is predicted for tomorrow so I'm hoping we can leave town and beat it going south.

I am packing today, need to vacuum, as well as sort, pitch, and/or put away the clutter pile. I know it isn't true but I feel like I am the only one who "clutters." I also have to hem a pair of slacks before I pack. Nothing like waiting until the last minute on that one!

"Gma" -- I don't blame you for not going to the WW meetings when you are doing everything right but still gaining. Can you quit the hormones cold turkey? Living with pain of any kind is no fun. I hope you feel better as your day goes along. Ernie knows which cupboard his treats are in and anytime that cupboard door opens he is right there. He likes potato chips but prefers to have me hold the chip so he can lick the salt off. When it gets gooey then he'll take a bite. He is a weird cat! I know you will have a wonderful time on your 'Thomas weekend.'

Maggie -- See, you did better during January than you thought you did! Congrats on the 4.4#s that are gone forever! I remember the "fun in the sun" days even though I had my fun in Iowa. When I graduated from high school I weighed 117#s. I didn't gain the freshman 15 but started putting the weight on after Jason was born. Oh how I wish I would have worked on taking the pounds off back then!

Susan -- Hope you are having a good weather day!

I'm off to start on my "to do" list! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Jean -- from Iowa!

Good evening, ladies! Up in the 40s today. The snow is almost gone but the weather man is calling for more Friday and Saturday. Whatever happened to global warming?

I'm making a carrot cake to take to bee tomorrow night. I volunteered to bring the dessert. I can do anything with Duncan Hines! I have 2 friends coming for dinner before hand - baked zita, salad and garlic toast. They go to bee, too, so dessert will be there.

Maggie, Congrats on the weight loss. It all adds up. 4.4 is over a pound a week and that was good for January. I'm going to look for that cookbook at my meeting this week. I love my slow cooker.

Jean, I love getting pedicures even more than manicures. Have fun in the sun!

Faye, I know what it is to gain weight from medication - Prednisone does that to me. I love my WW meeting and I still go because I get more out of the meeting than just being weighed, but that is me. Of course I think our meeting is better than most. Everyone is great about speaking up and asking questions and giving help. Can you just stop those hormones and see if you feel better? I'd be bugging that doctor's office until I got a call back from the doctor.

Timer is buzzing for the cake to come out of the oven so I must go. Have a good evening!
