Talking Titilating Tuesday

GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS

It is a bright sunshiney day here in the heartland. I just heard a big boom and then the electricity went off so maybe a transformer exploded. Weird for sure. I have had a bad cold these past few days and it is on the down side now. I have been sucking on Cold Eeze and it has not been as bad as it could have been. I am not planning on putting out all of my little pieces that go with my glass village this year for I don’t want to keep picking them up off the floor for I do believe that the kittens will be frolicking in them. I will just put up the buildings with their lights around the roof edges. I felt so rotten last evening that I didn’t go to WW. I did get to town though and bought Will a long gun for Christmas that he has been wanting. So now that is taken care of. Life is good. It will look festive around here though. We will be having our annual New Years Eve party and after that we will take the decorations down. This year has sure whizzed by quickly. I will email you the copies of the December calendar that my WW leader sends out. Will is going to the market to get the items I need to finish up filling up jars with goodies to give as gifts.

DONNA FAY That is so neat that he wants you to make more sox. What a kid. I am with the others that think you may be packing water and it will go as it should. Hope Jack is feeling better. Please email me so I can capture your address.

JEAN Burrrr. Those cold temps are making me shivver. I am sure you have nice warm clothes in which to snuggle up in when you go out and about. I don’t think it gets that cold here. When the wind blows it seems like it goes right through a body.

SUSAN Sox ~ I generally just wear black knee sox that don’t bind but do have some neat ones I got from a reinactment place. They are like the ones they wore in the gold rush days which are cotton. Up over the knee kind and striped or plain red or black. I have some purple and green striped ones and some black and blue stripped and some red ones.

I am through. Type at y’all later have a lovely day, this first day of the last month of this year.

Good morning ladies. It is cool and very rainy here this morning. I told Jack to just take the Mariner to work as I didn't need it and I can use the grand marquis if I need to run an errand though the thing needs a good cleaning inside and out and fumigated. It smells like the plant inside, which trust me, is not pleasant.

I am working diligently on my niece's sweater and set aside the socks because her sweater had to be done completely and wrapped before the 19th when she gets here. I am having joint issues to add to it so my hands hurt but I am just going to have to work through it and just knit because it has to get done. I am finished with her shopping now, thank goodness. I think I am going to get Thomas's other grandparents a couple sets of nice towels for Christmas this year. I am running out of ideas. I bought them a Sears gift card last year. What older couple don't use Sears for something? I saw that Penneys has the towels I use on sale in sets for $25 and they are lovely thick absorbent towels. I did want to get white and red and put candy canes in them, but they don't have red so I am going to figure something out in the colors they do offer.

Jean: Kelly wears all kinds of fun socks, she loves striped ones and I think for casual wear they can be fun. What guy is taking all your dishes? Did I miss something? Jack is going this weekend hopefully and get a new faucet set for the upstairs bathroom and replace it. We have to replace the other bathroom upstairs too, but it may have to wait with all the Thanksgiving trip expenses, Christmas and bills and such. You know how that is. So many things just so much money!

Susan: I am sure it will all come back off in short order and I can get back to losing. It will definitely keep me on the straight and narrow WW wise as I have to be in shape to go on a vacation and walk around and such.

Maggie: We are setting up Christmas this weekend. I noticed out neighbor pounding and such putting up outside decor. I wonder if his landlord will object as he is a renter. We have to go and hunt up a tree. They are pretty much shipped down here from Michigan so of course we have to pay a bundle for a little tree, but we go to the same place every year and they do cut off the end and bag it for us so it is easy to get home and into the house.

My sister from California and bil are going to his mom's for Christmas in western Arkansas so we are going to leave early and drive over on Christmas day and spend the day. The woman is my step-aunt (her mother was my step-grandma and the only one I knew so I always call her aunt) and her dd introduced me to Jack so we are all family so it will be fun. I haven't seen my sister in two years so it will be nice to see her. I know she is excited about it.

Well, back to the sweater and morning chores. Have a wonderful hump day and if it is wet and cold where you are stay warm and dry today! Faye

Good Morning, Flowers! This will be quick and I will be back later. It's dark and gloomy in my corner of the world this morning. At least with no sunshine my windows don't look as dirty. I noticed a little handprint on the fireplace glass yesterday so will clean that off this morning. Beth gave me a couple of Christmas ideas for Maddy so I also need to make a WM run and stop at the grocery store this morning. I'm working in the church office this afternoon so need to figure out what to wear besides my jeans and sweatshirt uniform.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday . . . two more days and it's the weekend again!

Good morning, ladies!

The workers started the trim on my house yesterday, but we have rain in the forecast for the next few days so don't know when they'll be finished.

Faye, I hope your hands hold up through all the knitting. I'm sure your niece will love being with you. Your Christmas plans sound like a fun time.

Jean, you are so brave to go to Walmart after 8 am. I can't stand the crowds and the long walk from the car so I go early or not at all.

Maggie, thanks for the December WW calendar - I need all the help I can get. In the WW newsletter this week, they had suggestions for staying on track through December. One was to get a calendar and mark all your appointments, then mark all your parties, when you are going to WW, when you will exercise and finally to mark all the days you will have nothing to interfere with staying OP. I did that and surprisingly, with a little planning, there are only a 4 days when I might have a problem if I'm not careful. I'd love to see your glass village.

Have a good day.

Talking Thnkful Thursday

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS
I got my computer back just a bit ago. I had to take it back to the shop for it was acting wierd again. February, yep, Will said I can get a new one then. They say this one is fixed but it is still typing funny. Curser jumps all over the place. Guess the fellow that fixed it doesn't really type as fast as I do. I have all my jars filled that I plan on filling and the party is December 12 so I am ready with that chore. I need to now decide what to wrap up for my white elephant gift. Maybe I'll wrap what I got last year (I never used it). It is a small sandwich press. Went to our favorite butcher shop yesterday which is 60 miles down the road in a very small community. Got the 10 pounds of burger meat for my chili that I will make for the party. Also picked up a nice roast and a couple 1½ inch pork chops with pockets that I will stuff and bake some fine day. He will sell us a half of a beef, cut and wrapped for $200 less that what the butcher here in town charges. We also went to another small town that has an awesme gun shop. We can get our reloading supplies there for he has everyhing. What he doesn't have he will get for you. That old fellow has been in business for many years and has an inventory that certainly is worth up in the millions. Lots and lots of stuff and the hunters come from miles around to do business with him. He got our attention.

DONNA FAYE Don't knit so much to hurt yourself. Ah, but I know you know how to pace yourself. Yikes what a stinky car.

JEAN Sounds like you have found things to fill your day since you retired. Isn't it fun to volunteer to do things you really enjoy doing.

SUSAN I will send you a picture of my village when I get it all built. I am thinking I will build a butcher shop for my village like the one we go to. I drew a picture of it while we were there yesterday and can make a pattern. I didn't have my camera with me.

Good to have my computer back. Type at y'all later.
