Good Morning, Flowers! It's promising to be another nice day in my corner of the world. It was 47 degrees again this morning, but has "warmed" up to 62 right now. The sun is shining and NO wind for a change. They are predicting rain for tonight and tomorrow, but took it out of the weekend forecast which is good. I've got the dishwasher running and half the main living area vacuumed.

"Gma" -- I sure hope you continue to feel better as the day goes along. Can a Wii be fixed or is it cheaper to toss it and buy a new one? I've looked at them and thought I would like to try the exercise program. I just hate to spend the money and keep thinking they will come down in price. Beth just sent me the link for Maddy's school fund raiser. The shipping costs have gone sky high not to mention the prices of the item themselves. We're going to combine orders to save on shipping. It irritates me that they have little kids selling stuff. It's bad enough when the high school kids sell stuff to earn money for their trips. I always buy because people bought from our kids. We don't get many door-to-door because there are no kids on our dead end block. I hope Jack's thumb isn't a major problem and your vehicle is just a minor glitch.

I need to finish vacuuming and get back to sorting pictures. Have a great day and enjoy life!

Jean -- from Iowa!

Talking One of September

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS
This is the first day of a brand new month and I am finally getting my head wrapped around to doing my program. I have been coasting for so long now it is time to get a grip. Will wants to lose also ~ so meal time will be much easier. What I will do is serve the plates with the proper serving and if he wants seconds he can go for them but I need to know how to count my points. For his birthday meal this day he wants home made tacos so I will make those for dinner. Life is good. My new microwave as lots of power. WOW, more than twice as much as my very first one I had and cost much less also. We are letting the store take back this freezer we have for they never did get it fixed so it doesn't sound like an airplane. They will deliver a new one of a different style an brand the end of this week. We have a freezer full of program friendly eats. When I finish here I am going to make us nice power packed smoothie.

DONNA FAYE I am so sorry to hear you were so sick. Hope this day is much better for you. Especially since you have that grandchild coming over. When you get the sweater done please post a picture. I also hope your new car isn't a lemon. Those electrical glitches can be so annoying. The check engine light came on in our van after it was stuck in that ditch during a snow storm and it never did go off. They checked it all out and said absolutely nothing was wrong with the engine and so we just put a piece of black tape over that light. You, my dear friend, will make your goal. Isn't it exciting to be back on program and showing a steady loss. You go girl.

JEAN & SUSAN Have a lovely first day of a brand new month.

Type at y'all later. From the heartland.

Good afternoon, ladies! Only 72 today and it looks like rain again.

I have a couple of websites for you today.

http://www.wolframalpha.com Crazy site. Type your name in it or try some of their examples. It was fun for me so Thomas might like it, Faye.

http://www.stilltasty.com/ StillTasty: Your Ultimate Shelf Life Guide - Save Money, Eat Better, Help The Environment

Faye, I'm sorry you were so sick. Those kind of problems are no fun! My old car had some fluke with the check engine light. If I didn't get the gas cap on tight enough, it would come on and stay on until I took it in for service so after awhile I just drove like that and hoped nothing was really wrong. I hope they get your SUV straightened out. Enjoy your time with Thomas!

Jean, still working on the Goodwill boxes I see. I don't think they should have little kids going around selling stuff in this day and age. I think they really are expecting parents to sell the stuff at work, etc. I doubt the school gets much of the price back for selling the stuff.

Maggie, glad you are back OP. I'll bet WW will be having a lot more people coming after Labor Day. It will be a big help to have Will on board, too.

Well, lunch break is over, so back to work.

I am sitting here this afternoon bored to death and cold! It is hot outside, but if we turn up the ac then the upstairs gets way too hot to go to bed at night so I freeze during the daytime. (I came back in here on Wed morning and decided to just combine posts)

I am listening to the new neighbors moving in. They have nice looking furniture and two of the people moving stuff in were pleasant when I went out and got the mail so maybe we will finally get some decent folks next door. Sure do hope so.

My dr does not waste any time. I got my appt for my ultrasound and my mammogram, both on the same darn day and it is a week from Thursday. At least I am not pregnant so holding my 32 oz of water won't be so hard I hope. I just hope I don't have to wait long.

The car has something wrong with it. It is something with one of the camshafts so they are working on it. At least it is covered by the warranty. Jack took on extra warranty when he bought it also so I think we have 5-6 years instead of three, something like that. They are trying to finish it for us today so I hope that they do. I realize how much I miss a car now that we have two! UPDate: We picked up the car yesterday afternoon after I posted this and it is all fixed. It was some kind of solenoid, cam, valve thingy that I guess Ford has had trouble with, but the guy said he had never seen it before in a new car. They replaced both of them I guess since it was two of everything, reset the computer stuff and it is ok now. I did ask him if it would happen again and he said no, so I hope not.

Susan: I emailed the website to Thomas and told him he could shock his friends at how spectacular his knowledge is. The kid has a photographic memory so he ought to have fun with it. If I were born one day later I would be among some big people, like the phycisist who invented farenheit temps scale, the author Cervantes, a medical researcher named Gibbons, and the birth of Pompey. My birthday is shared with Ed Sullivan and Brigette Bardot, "a really big show" and really big boobs! I think that Henry Fonda has the same birthdate as I too though he wasn't on the list.

Maggie: I figure out the points for two servings of each thing except veggies then that is all I make. We can't over eat because there isn't anything to overeat. Like I take 8 oz of ground sirloin and make 2 meat loaves instead of a whole meatloaf. It has made a real difference for us. If I wasn't still having weird female stuff going on, I bet I would be at least 10 lbs lighter. I have kept to my pts religiously except for a couple times and then well within my extra 35 weekly and I never use the activity pts. Who knows? I am just glad I am moving right along again.

Jean: I do feel so much better this afternoon. I was just awful yesterday, enough so that I called Jack to have him come home early and take me to the hospital, but after about 10 minutes, I started burping and letting gas and the pain let up some, though it did continue on and off all night long and I would have to put the heating pad on and take it off and on and off, etc. Kelly said they are sending the Wii in to get it fixed. We have a Mario game that Thomas likes a lot and I am sure he will bring a bunch with him. It can be hard to get the exercise program stuff I have found. Everywhere was sold out a few months ago for it.

Well, I guess I should find something constructive to do and put on a sweater and socks. Have a great afternoon and if you don't hear from me tomorrow, consider this my Wed post! Faye

WED: I am sitting here this morning getting ready to pay bills then later will go out and get some hair color and come back and get my hair colored and the bathrooms cleaned upstairs. I want to get my haircut so I might do that after I color my hair but since I have to put on two colors now, I might not have the time. I want to clean the whole downstairs tomorrow so I may have to do it first thing on Friday before I go over to the school to work the clinic.

I got my shoes and am sending the one non tie pair back. I just don't feel secure in them. I have totally flat feet and these have one heck of an arch support in them so I fell like I am walking sideways, but I imagine I will get used to them. It isn't the first time shoes act funny on my crappy feet.

Well, just wanted to check in and say all is well. Have a good hump day! Faye
