It was tough getting through the caffeine cut yesterday, but not because I was dragging. I just wanted that feeling of relaxing with a cup of latte. Odd, isn't it? "Relax" with caffeine?! WTF? Relax and then expect the jolt.
Didn't start sugar yet and I did overdo that. I really enjoyed being "allowed" the extra, I admit. Lift the limits and watch out! :^: Still, it was nothing like earlier binges. Knowing I don't have to "get my fill" before starting another challenge means I eat less. Minimal Sugar 21 completed 3 pauses taken Sugar challenge DONE!!!! Caffeine Cut (Round 2!) Day 8 completed 0 pauses taken (completed first round July 10 with no pauses taken!! ************** Jazzy -- Good luck on your new tweaks. I see you've given yourself another 30 minutes in the evening and split your fruit and veggies. That makes it harder though, right? I personally would be afraid that with a time limit on my eating I would eat a lot more before the deadline. Do you tend to do that? If so, maybe you could allow yourself something small after the deadline instead of nothing. Just a thought. :sunny: diyana -- Thanks for the congrats! I'm so glad to hear you're out there able to go hiking! That must be lovely. Good for you for another successful day! :coach: Get those crunches in!! |
I'm on weight watcher so tracking what I eat is an important part. I was doing really well for a while, but i've fallen off the tracking wagon. So my goal is to track everything I eat. Starting today (level 2)

Day 3 -DONE! :D
CONGRATS RED on completing your challenge!!! :bravo: |
No snacking - 0 pause - Day 21 done
Portion control - 1 pauses - Day 21 done 1300 calorie limit - 0 pause Day 20 done Water - 1 litre per day - 0 pause - Day 21 done. 50 Crunches - 0 pauses - Day 21 done. Well thats it for this challenge. One more day of 1300 cal although it is really not hard. Chucking out the snacking does it everytime. Have I lost any weight. Not really, maybe a smidgeon. Clothes still fit the same and belly still sags. I'll start another challenge on Monday. Just want a rest for the next couple of days. Red - well done on the sugar stuff. It's not been a problem for me but I do know many people who struggle with it. |
Hi Yall,
Day 3 - sugar challenge, 1 pause taken. Well.... I really bombed today for sugar - first pause so early incthe game is annoying, but I don't want to start over becaus I really earned the other 3 days!! I think it's hard for me to cut back on the weekends <read: Saturday> so if i can hold out well during the week, and take the saturdays as my puase days, then I should be able to eke out 21. WTG Red for completing your sugar challenge! For the no caffeine - does decaf coffee count? You know, about your work and equating to an abusive relationship - it really has been one for you. It's not easy finding the strength to leave one, but you'll feel heaps better when it's all over. Yeah Shad for finishing your challenges! Bit of a bummer to still have all the weight though, eh? Looking frward to seeing your new ones. Jazzy, Diyana, Saramommy - you all are al doing so well! Welcome Aclai! Good luck on your challenge! |
Day 4 - DONE!!! :D Staying strong!! ...my husband brought home Taco Bell for dinner last night, and I passed the test. That was like the ultimate test for me!! Thanks heavens for will power!! :D
Good luck to everyone this weekend!! :cheer: For me (and miriam), the weekends are always the hardest...I always want to eat more, and exercise less. |
starting a bunch more....
Well, I made it through another day of reduced caffeine. I can definitely say I don't feel the lows as much as I did in the early stages.
That's a huge plus. I still allow myself a mug of strong tea in the afternoon and one heaping scoop of coffee (for a pot) upon arising. That's a big drop from what it used to be, the usual morning dose followed by as many as two large lattes or a big mug of strong coffee in the afternoon. Well, actually, it doesn't really sound like I'm taking in that much less caffeine but I can certainly feel the difference so I must be. I am going to have to get some other challenges going. First of all, I have to stop putting poison into my body and that can start with the smoking...yes, I've been smoking again. So, new NO smoking challenge. NO pauses. AND, I've been eating like I didn't have a care in the world about my burgeoning weight. I should be busy getting the fat off and all I do is watch the scale go up. What goes??! So, although I've come to hate looking at what I'm stuffing in my mouth, I HAVE to look and be more aware or pay severe consequences (I already am paying them.) So, again, the tedious food journal. Ugh. And, a new round of sugar. Minimal sugar Day 0 completed up to 3 pauses allowed No smoking Day 0 completed no pauses allowed Food journal Day 0 completed no pauses allowed Caffeine Cut (Round 2!) Day 9 completed 0 pauses taken ************** Aclai -- Welcome! :welcome: Looks like you and I have the same challenge (one of mine). Good luck! :goodluck; Sara -- Good for you on the Taco Save!!! :cp: Just what is your challenge again? The mega one? So, are you clearing all of the elements still? I guess so, eh? Shad -- Another round of applause and a cheerleader for you! :cp: :cp: :cheer3: :cp: :cp: Thanks for the sugar congrats. miriam -- Too bad about the sugar but at least you're staying in the game. Good for you! Thanks on my sugar success. I allow decaf even though it does have some caffeine but I don't drink it. I mean I would drink it if I wanted but I've never really drank coffee for the taste, just the jolt. I am such a druggie. In the morning, I have reduced two scoops of regular coffee to one scoop regular and one scoop decaf. That means it won't taste bad but I still have the caffeine hit. I sure hope leaving work won't turn me into a derelict. I am rather scared of myself and my lazy side. I am feeling very bad about having to leave the paper, not the company, but the work. It's been a part of my life for so long. I will try to go to the next level though and keep writing. I am thinking up a manga book now. I have never liked manga though I live in the world's capital but recently I am turning to them. There are a lot of serious books being written that use manga to teach and I like them. It makes things very accessible and at the same time fun to read. Let's see what I can come up with. |
Day 5 was another success! Down another pound!! :D
My challenges are as follows (each are separate): -Only eat 1200 calories -NO fast food -NO eating past 7pm -Exercise Daily -Drink 5 glasses of water or more |
So it's time to knuckle down again. My challenges for the next 21 days are the same as before but with more crunches and water and they start tomorrow morning.
No snacking - 3 pauses - Portion control - 3 pauses - 1300 calorie limit - 3 pauses Water - 1.5 litres per day - 3 pauses - 100 Crunches - 3 pauses - . See you then |
good on three...
Um, sugar did not get off the ground. But I did all the others. I'm adding alcohol as well. I just want to get out of the habit of going out for drinks. What's the sense of getting drunk when it doesn't lead anywhere. It's a total drug thing and I'm tired of it. Finally :^:
No alcohol Day 0 completed Minimal sugar Day 0 completed up to 3 pauses allowed No smoking Day 1 completed no pauses allowed Food journal Day 1 completed no pauses allowed Caffeine Cut (Round 2!) Day 10 completed 0 pauses taken ************** Shad -- Good luck on the next round! :goodluck: Sara -- That's amazing that you are doing all those challenges! Great stuff! :bravo: |
Day 4 - sugar challenge, 1 pause taken
I'm so happy to have another day under my belt! I don't know what's up with the weight though (just that: it's up...). I have been eating so well!!!! :( I really need to consider addressing my thyroid, although I am rather hesitant to do as. I don't relish the though of having to take medication for the rest of my life. B12 and D is one thing, thyroxine-quite another... Red - what do you do for protein, fellow vegetarian? What is manga? Look at all those challenges, when you do it, yopu really go all the way! I bet your body will feel so much better after the initial release of poisons. Shad - Geez, you also have quite a list!! And my abdomen hurts just reading 100 crunches, hehe. Good luck on ya!! Saramommy - at the rate you're going, you;ll hit goal in no time! Keep it up! |
Day 6 - a few pauses taken. My husband and I went out to dinner and a movie. My calories were well above 1200. But hey, you have to be able to indulge once in awhile, right?!;)
My challenges are as follows (each are separate): -Only eat 1200 calories --Pause used today...still on Day 5 -NO fast food --Pause used today...Red Lobster counts...still on Day 5 -NO eating past 7pm--Day 6 -Exercise Daily--Day 6 -Drink 5 glasses of water or more--Day 6 Good luck to everyone this week!! Stay Strong!! :cheer: |

Day 5 sugar challenge finished....1 pause taken
Sara & Michelle - WTG!!!!!!!! You are doing great! |
Okay....it's time to 'fess up. I just made a horrible dinner choice, but it tasted so good. I found a new frozen pizza with a super thin crust (so not as many calories), and it tastes phenomenol! Well, I was really hungry and ate the whole thing....3 servings (and 24 points worth). Luckily, I had my weekly extra points allowance, but I'm gonna have to stick to my points big time for the next 3 days. I can't believe I ate that much....and ironically, I was watching Valerie Bertinelli, Marie Osmond and Star Jones share their weight loss struggles and successes on Oprah. Worse yet...I'm having a bad asthma day...worst one in over a year. Not bad enough to go to the ER, but bad enough that I had to leave work early and come home and rest....so I'm taking a pause on my two exercise challenges and hoping I feel MUCH better tomorrow. My inhalers are helping a little, but not enough.
Anyway here are today's results: Day 7 - Journal and Stay within points - DONE (thank goodness for weekly extra points allowance) - 3 pauses left Day 6 - 50 ab exercises per day - PAUSE TAKEN - bad asthma day - 1 pauses left Day 6 - Go to gym or walk at least 25 minutes per day -PAUSE TAKEN - bad asthma day - 2 pauses left |
