Oh my gosh, I new explaining this so that it was understood was not going to be easy, I'm beginning to regret my words.

Quote:
I can even sit beside my husband who's eating a bag of chips and have NO desire for it...NONE. Are you ok with seeing tv commercials about food? Is that a trigger too?
Yep, I do the same, and it doesnt bother me, and no TV commercials dont bother me either. It is binge eating that is the trigger. So, unless someone is devouring an entire pizza on the tube, then nope no problem. Since I don't, on a regular basis, run into someone eating an entire bag of cookies, or find someone in the closet at work stuffing 6 chocolate bars into themselves, I'm fine. It was the reading of the amount of food ingested at one time that triggered the bad thoughts. It was nothing against the person confessing, I dont think they're bad, it is about me & me alone. I know its hard to grasp, but I didnt condemn her, I wanted to BE her.

Quote:
WOW... witchie.... have you received help for this???
Yes, and lots of it over a long period of time, and I'm almost there : )
Quote:
I do sense some sarcasm in your words.. if i am mistaken please tell me..
Yes, you are mistaken. I was being quite serious, this is one of my last triggers, and I was looking for suggestions.
Quote:
I am being totally serious because if you get upset just because Chantal listed her indulgences..
.
I'm not upset at all, I'm triggered, which means that something was set off in my brain that made me want to do something unhealthy, in my case binge eat. Ok, hope that made it a little more clear, its twisted I know. Anyway it was a beautiful day here in Ontario, hope the sun was shining on you all! Cheers!!

I am so glad that people are enjoying the iced capp thingie. I had one today too in the middle of the afternoon. Delightful! I really split up my food today so that I could do just that. My lunch was basically veggies today so that I could 'splurge' in the afternoon with my 'iced capp' For those who haven't yet been able to indulge... sorry I am down to my last packet of VHP too if that makes you feel better.

Default It's official - I joined Herbal Magic today

Okay, I did it! I signed up today so I'm officially on program!!

Today was Day One and I have to say it was very interesting to be conscious of what I was putting in my mouth. I know that one of my problems is that I'm an unconscious eater so while I was preparing dinner I chewed gum so that I wouldn't nibble. And when I was cleaning up after dinner I caught myself wanting to nibble again, purely out of habit. Hopefully, I'll break this habit soon.

My goal is to lose 50lbs by December 2nd - YIKES! At that point I'll decide my final goal weight.

I've been reading all the posts over the past few days and it seems that everyone has their own issues that they're dealing with. Many of them are the same and some are different - we've all got our "thing". It's great to see that everyone supports each other and I think this forum is a wonderful tool. It's comforting and inspirational to know that others are in the same boat and many of you are having great success with your weight loss journey. And that's what it is - a journey. Regardless of how you get to your goal, just keep going.

I had a thought on the weekend. My husband participated in a two day, 200 km bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls. Most people (over 3,000) completed The Ride. Some rode with a few very short stops and crossed the finish line early. Others took their time, stopping and resting and they finished too, just later. It made me realize that if I stay on program and don't cheat, I'll get their sooner. If I slip up along the way, it'll just take me longer but I'll eventually get there. It's not a race - I just need to get to the finish line.

So today was a good day. I'm on track and making my way to the finish line!

Let's see what tomorrow brings...

Welcome sunnygal! Nice to have you with us!

Yes, this is a journey and some will reach their destination quickly, others slowly, but each step forward is one step closer.

Looking forward to our journey together!

Lee: Looking at Dria's stats I'm not sure if she would have ever been on QLPII. Once you drop below 200 they will take away a fruit, veggie and protein which should leave you with:

2 protein
2 starch
2 fruit
3 veg
2 fats
1 FE
1 dairy

Sorry to hijack the answer.. haha

I was reading the posts about removing food...OH GOSH... I don't think I can handle that... I mean... OK, remove a veggie - that's great with me! lol
But a fruit and a protein... well a protein isn't so bad... but the fruit!!
OK well maybe I could do without I guess... lol

Way to go Sunny! You can do this!! One bite at a time

Dria - I'm crossing my fingers for you... 50 pounds - WOW!

Witchie - thanks for sharing! But just wanted to make something clear... I didn't eat those things in a day (LOL). I ate them throughout a week.
So I didn't actually "binge"... like I had cookies for a couple of days, etc.
Just wanted to clear this up

Last night I made pasta with this tomato sauce I found.
It's made by Heinz... it's has 10g sodium, 2g of sugar and 20 calories per 1/4 of a cup. I think that's the best! I wouldn't count it as a FE since it's 20 cal...I mean... but I still didn't eat my FE.

Just wanted to share!

My WI is tomorrow & measurements too.

Happy Wednesday!

Hello ladies,

Yesterday was a good on plan day and today is set to be another good one except that I have to go to Moxie's for dinner for a work thing. any ideas on what I can order form the menu? its not on the eating out guide list.

I am gonna try and get my starches done by lunch starting next week and see how that works for me

When you go out and dont see something on your list. You have to be very picky when ordering.
Remember when making your "demands" for your meal that this could just be a health allergy etc so they should make it to your specifications. IE
A steak... please make sure no salt or seasonings are used on my steak please.
Please make sure the grilled chicken breast is not made with salt or seasoning etc
A Quasadilla (sp) is usually a good thing. Just eat 1/4 of it usually depend how they are made remember you are allowed 1 6" tortilla. SO look at it and be careful. Also ask for the salsa on the side etc pay attention to how chicken is on it and cheese.

Or a salad..... just watch how much your eating. I find eating out at the ressy's to be easy and helpful as the portions they serve are always so big ya can get 2-3 meals for the next day or so out of one meal I hope this has helped.
And stay away from the broccoli cheese soup ***DROOLS*** in time you can have it again LMAO thats one of my weaknesses

Wooot, welcome Sunny!

Dria, you are so close, can ya smell it?

Aditi, I find one of the easiest things to eat at a restaurant is a stirfry. Just ask for it to be cooked without sauce, and served without rice or noodles. Unless of course youve saved your starches then you can have like a cup of rice or noodles.

I have to try that Iced cap thingy, but the 30$ for 7 VHP is killing me. I may splurge on myself next week though, cause its my birthday. : )
Its another beautiful sun shiney day here, cheers all!

Witchie break it down.
The shake costs about $5.37 per shake....... thats cheaper then mcdonalds or any other meal really. And its filling. So treat yourself and consider it your "take out meal"
Thats how I justified it

I told my girl today that it was the first time I was nervous about stepping on the scale. I know Im slowing down now because normally Im 1.8 or so down from Monday to wednesday.

Witchie: IF you have never bought the chocolate VHP shake before they should discount it as a 'new to you' product or something like that. At least 10%. Also, if you sign up with them for online promotions you might get lucky like I did and get a coupon that will take 10 - 20 bucks off of products for you.

Dria: You'll be there before you know it. We can't wait! You will be the first of us to do it and I know we will all be watching to see how program changes. Plus, to see how a person feels when they reach their goal and maintain it will be so very, very cool!

Chantal: Good luck with WI etc..

Aditi: I haven't been very successful at Moxie's myself. They have some yummy salads if that turns your crank...

SunnyGal! Congrats on joining HM! The first weeks are very exciting! Stick to it hard core and you will see some cool results - GUARANTEED! Good Luck!
