Mandy sounds like you had a good time at Roar - I did check out the site again just the other day

You know I have tried that approach and believe it or not we even had counseling for him a few years ago was paying $125 per visit once a week and after 2 months went in and found out that he was never even talking to the counselor after 2 months and a $1000 later the counselor said I should try again at a later time and to save my money right now
I do not get hot headed with him- actually my boys do not have to do anything around the house, they use to but once they started working I have gotten lack with them- he just doesn't understand that all this money is wasted he has probably had over $3000 in the last 18 months in fines and tickets, so he just doesn't tell us anything tries to hide but we always find out and he knows that but he hates it when we confront and ask him adn then he tries to lie but we know better......

Anyways I hope that it works for you with your daughter and this is also teaching her control for her future as well

Have a great night everyone tty tomorrow

Ya know, it was weird but when we went to the therapist, (we go to the same church and ride together) He gave us these books and said we should read them first then he will talk to us, then Makalya. Apparently we have to be trained first...LOL Which is true, I know I don't handle things in the best manner. One thing the book says is letting the kids deal with the natural consequences of their actions. Like not giving him money if he needs it cause he either needs help with the fines or that he spent the money on fines and is out of money and you basically ignore the situation. Of course my motherly instinct doesn't see how I could do that, but I also think its the right way to deal with it....lol

Mandy and CC: Count me in on the troubled teen club..... trust me I don't want to be in the club..... but I am being forced into it. I just got my youngest son's report card today.... not that bad (for him), but I also got the earful that he is not allowed at ball games for the rest of the year for picking a fight and my DH got a visit from a parent yesterday for the same reason.

I am going to try to make both of them deal with the consequences and see how that goes. I am going to TRY to SLAM the door on mom's bank except for food and shelter. We will see how that goes.

Oh ya well today I get home and there is an envelope for our Clerk of Courts of course it was for the youngest - I guess he bought motocycle some time ago for $700 and has not finished paying for it still owes $290 so the person put a judgement against him- Oh well he can pay that after the other stuff first- You know sometimes I wish he would move out and what I don't know - I just don't know, I feel I would be way better off

Ok well rainy and yucky out today - thinking I just need to go to bed for the night and it is only 5pm

good afternoon chicks!

Mandy sorry it was so chilly for you! and glad nothing except a Hummer sharing your lane

thanks for the pics of your kewl hair, CChick!

and sorry to hear of the teen troubles, it is so hard to listen to what the experts say to do, and to not 'enable' (bail them out). Hugs to all

well my DH has a (crazy ) idea, he wants to be a truck driver. And thought it was fun idea for us to do it together!!! I put the kibosh on that RIGHT away. No I don't think that sounds like fun. THen had to see him be all pouty that I didn't like the idea.

I guess I should have realized that we will have tense, maybe squabbling times with the job loss thing, but please at least keep rational!

<rant off>

With my new schedule I have Wed. and THursdays off. Today I worked out (30 Day SHred Level 3) and raked leaves for about an hour. Vacuumed, and will do laundry tomorrow.

We got to get out on the bikes for errands, that was nice. Overcast and no sun, and barely 50 degrees, I was bundled up. Went to the bank, did grocery shopping (hooked up the bike trailer to DH's bike) and then to the Dollar store, for me to get a journal - I vow to write down all the nutty things that happen at the winter job, and already have some doozies!

CChick I am so glad the tranny finally showed up, and I sure hope that once she is ready to go, that you will have some cooperative weather!

Tammy did you have that great-sounding 70 degrees and sun?

and CChick, I feel the same about the bond we have, it is so nice to be able to have a 'safe' place to share our stuff isn't it.

Hey Girlies

Tammy how did your weigh in go this week? I probably missed it in an earlier post- sorry

Holly you know we owned 4 semi trucks about 10 years ago and we only had couples drive them, and these couples well no children at home any longer - It really works out great both had CDL so they could be on the road together and make better time and better money but to make money you have to be over the road which takes you away from home.......
Don't forget to let us know how DH's conference call goes tomorrow

smily faces for you Holly just because you are still getting to ride

On a Great Note we leave in one week for Vegas - WHooo Hoooo

Well I will check back in tomorrow

good morning chicks, thanks for remembering about that phone interview CChick yes it's at 11:00 am today.

Tammy, I think I saw the words 'SOGGY' over your state on the national weather map today bleh!

Mandy, hope you have some sun today Here, it's damp now, it might clear up at mid day, but don't know if enough for roads to dry (will be relatively mild, 55 to 60!) but then a cold front and rain in the afternoon. I will be sitting on my bike at noon with an umbrella waiting, I guess

This is interesting - on the CBS Morning News Show they've been talking about germs and H1N1 and such...today was checking to see how germy your washing machine is! They suggested every 3 to 4 washes, run an empty load with 1 cup of bleach and COLD water (fresh bleach; not the scented kinds; make sure it says 'kills germs' on label) Apparently there can be, well, your regular household germs, but also the coliform germs (from underwear??)

and of course kitchen sponges just soak up and store germs, but you have to wash your pots and pans of course, so take a container of bleach water and drop your sponge(s) in it for a bit, that disinfects them. And they're relatively cheap enough to ditch after a bit anyway.

Keeping germs under control is especially important for those with young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with compromised immune systems.

Our Public Service message is now over

I haven't worked out yet, but will check back when afterwards. Hope everyone is doing good!

Holly, I hope the call goes well..... we will say a little prayer.
As for the husband and you truck driving.... I would like to side with you and say how crazy it is..... but me and my DH have "mulled" it over a little. He almost has 20 years in as a cop and does not plan to retire doing it...... it is a crazy world out there..... not like it used to be. But, we do not have a plan in motion. How do you feel about just him going over the road? I can see that your personality would go nuts (I mean that in a good way) cooped up in a truck EVERY day. You are so creative and seems like such a good cook and good people person... so you would be losing part of you. Me on the other hand.... I am a people person when I have to be but I am more a "to myself" person.... which is my segway into our friendships here...... it is great to have someone to share with and not worry about it being all over the local paper and such. I treasure all of you ladies' opinions and I feel like I know you all personally. It is a great thing!

CC: Woo Hoo on the tranny! And, I LOVE the hair. I did not gain or lose at the weight in..... and I was happy with that b/c I cheated soooo bad this past weekend. I am vowing to do better this weekend!
Mandy: I dealt with teenage girls and it is NOT easy! The offer stands for you as well, if you need an ear..... I am here..... just PM and I will give you my cell.

My seminar yesterday was one of those that was 'misadvertised". It was supposed to be for advanced coders/auditors..... but instead it was the basics..... 3 hours of it.... which was a good thing. I thought it was going to be an 8 hour class, but it was not. Good thing it wasn't. I think I would have shot myself in the face with mace if I would have had to sit there another 8 hours ! It was not worth the money at all!

Well I am going to get to work...... I will talk to you all later...... I have Zeke news (not good), but I have to think of a game plan before I move... will let you know more later.

no much to write today. Its very sad in my town today. I don't know if you heard about a little girl that became missing Monday afternoon while walking home from school, but her body was found in a landfill yesterday. This little girl lived just a few miles away from me, in the same neighborhood as a good friend. Her son went to school with the little girl, he just understand what happened to his little friend. Hug your kids today, no matter they have done, just doesn't seem that important right now.

So far, the winter job is going Okay It's been slow business-wise, so I have time in between customers to do little tasks that I find for myself, like stock up all paper products, fold and assemble pie boxes by the dozens, shine up the reach-in doors, and that makes the time go by. The old lady who is such a pest is still a pest but for now, it's much easier to get along with her than to go against her For example -

Glenda - "Holly, I emptied your trash for you."
(previous me) "Oh, well, thank you for doing your job."

now I just say, "Okay" and smile. However, I do not say thanks I just acknowledge it.

This morning I did Keli Roberts step aerobics tape, the whole thing, and I was happy because I think that last time I tried to do this one, I had the sciatica pain cramping up and down my right side and I just couldn't . So maybe my clue is, if I feel any of the sciatica discomfort before starting an exercise tape, I just can't chose a step one for that day. 30 Day Shred does not bother my sciatica at all, dammit

I am sitting here eating Mike and Ike candies, bad me!!

Do you girls have supermarket stores that are offering discounts on gasoline?? We have the Price Chopper Supermarket, which gives you 10 cents off a gallon of gas, for every $100 you spend at the store. So if you wait a few months, and lets say you have spent $800, you pay 80 cents less per gallon when you fill up! I just used our card, which we had let accumulate quite a bit, and filled the Geo tank (maybe holds 10 gallons) for THREE DOLLARS AND FIVE CENTS!

Hey girls, GOOD news, DH logged onto his Unemployment portal this morning and saw "amount of last payment" and a $ amount, YAY. And I believe that it will be retro to his first elegible date.

Only because he has never collected Unempl. Ins. before in his life, I am glad he can breathe a bit easier while he looks for something else. And maybe this will help his rational thinking (NO trucks please )

and a big fat wet raspberry to his employer for firing him without any warnings, and now employer is at max amount for contributing to UI because this is at least the 4th time this has happened. Karma, dude!
