Good Evening, Flowers! It has been another cold windy day in my corner of the world. I want some sunshine and warmer weather! We had a few sprinkles of rain and a few snow flakes, but so far nothing major happening.

"Gma" -- I would love to see Thomas perform in the play! I'm betting he is a "natural" on the stage. I love to buy greeting cards, but do think twice about how much I spend. If I know the person treasures the thought and will keep the card to reread from time to time, I spend more. I also buy boxes of plain note cards and write my own messages. I hope your day at the clinic went well.

Susan -- As I was going through cupboards last night, I am embarrassed at how "dirty" they are! My cupboards go up to the ceiling and I rarely use what is on the top two shelves. I'd like to spend part of my Easter break just washing the dishes and shelves. As long as the air conditioning works, I don't complain about the heat . . . the humidty outside is another story.

Gail -- It's good to see your post tonight. You have been keeping busy and that is good. I remember when my dad died that it took me a long time before I could settle down and stay focused on anything for any length of time. Knitting is good therapy, I'm sure.

I need to put a few more things in my rummage sale box. Have a nice evening and a wonderful Wednesday tomorrow . . . April Fool's Day!

Jean -- from Iowa!

Good morning to you all It is chilly here this morning but supposed to warm up today nicely. The city is beside themselves today as the basketbal coach at Memphis U took the coaching job at Kentucky. They don't seem to understand the poor guy has the right to take a better coaching job if he wishes. Kentucky has always been a basketball power house so he will get great exposure. You would think he had murdered the pope or something the way people are talking around here. They are already blaming him for everything from ticket sales to recruiting of new players. Sheesh, give the guy a break. It will have a big impact because some of our best players are planning on changing schools and a couple of the top high school kids who have signed letters of intent for Memphis are going to back out, but it happens. When that dirt bag fired Bobby Knight at IU, they haven't had a good team since and didn't even make the NCAA tournament this year.

I worked the clinic yesterday and it was pretty quiet until the last hour or so. I got to wave at T several times as he and his class spent more time traveling down the hall to recess, pe in the cafeteria and lunch than in his classroom yesterday. Something cute happened though. A boy came in about his thumb. He had cut it badly the night before trying to shut his dad's pocket knife. He was cute and quick to tell me his dad was right there with him so I wouldn't think he was messing with it when he shouldn't be. They took him to the ER and they glued his thumb, but it had broken open a bit and he had been told at the ER not to put a bandage on it so he wanted to call his parents to see what he should do. Couldn't get either of them so I told him we would put a bandage on it for the rest of the day to keep the dirt out until he got home than his parents could do what they thought best. While I was waiting for his mom to return my call, he said to me, "Are you Thomas's grandmother?" I told him I was and we had a nice little chat about T and that I was his mom's mother. I told him I lived across town but his dad's mom and dad lived across the street from him. He said he knew and proceeded to tell me how Thomas told him his grandparents bought a lot of stuff for the fundraiser. I told him yes we do as Thomas is our only grandchild in school Thomas neither has any siblings and only has one baby cousin and his other grandparents have no other grandchildren at all except Thomas. I got the impression he and this boy were friends. He left a bit later when his mom never returned the message I left (he told me she works for St Jude's and is always in meetings so that is why she probably couldn't call me back ) and I had put a bandaid on him. About 10 minutes later I see T's teacher and a group of kids going down the hall so I know it is Thomas's class. Thomas goes by and grins and waves then the group sort of slows and stops like they are queing up and this boy ends up right in front of the clinic door. He turns to the boy behind him points and whispers, "That's Thomas's grandmother." I hear the kid say, "I know," then it is like the old telephone game, I could hear whispering, "That's Thomas's grandmother, that's Thomas's grandmother.." etc all the way back down the row of boys. It was funny. I am now famous at least for being Thomas's grandmother! lol

Gail: Oh it is so nice to see you back in here. I was worried about you. I am glad all things are good with you. I did get my invitation to Ravelry awhile back, but haven't really participated. I need to check it out.

Jean: The edging around my baseboards is beyond yicky as I can hardly get down there and get back up for one thing and for another, this linoleum is so old the glue has leaked out around the edges and dirt adheres to it. I really need to get one of those hand held steam cleaners and see if I can clean it up that way I guess. I too have high shelves that probably could use a good cleaning up. I think your house is never totally spotless as there is always something that needs to be done somewhere. My deck is a mess and usually by this time I am out there cleaning it up for spring, but I don't think I am even going to put the stuff out this year as I want to buy a new patio set. It does need sprucing up though.

Susan: I ran a program last night to make sure I don't have this new virus they say is supposed to be so awful. It said I didn't have it so that is good. I am noticing a bit of sluggishness on my computer, which drives me crazy, but it seems to hinge on my homepage more than anything.

Everyone have a great Wednesday. Jack is counting days until he has Friday off, but he has to fast Thur night and Friday morning as he has a bunch of blood tests they want to take at his cardiology office to make sure the big upping of his niacin is increasing his good cholesterol. We are going to be at the office at around 8 so he can then get some breakfast.

Good morning, ladies! Looks like rain but in the 60s for today.

Faye, I liked the part where you said "I got to wave at T several times as he and his class spent more time traveling down the hall to recess, pe in the cafeteria and lunch than in his classroom yesterday." We don't let the kids pee in the cafeteria around here. Isn't it nice to be famous as Thomas' grandmother!
and its good you are getting out a little, too. I know just the thing that might help you with those baseboards. It's supposed to be to clean windows but it is a sponge on the end of a short handle. I got it to clean the skylights. It cost $1 at Dollar General.

Jean, the upper shelves, the china closet, stuff like that is what I keep putting off. Now I need to do a really good job. I have a bunch of stuff that can go to the thrift store. Only problem is, quilting sneaks in and I put it off another day.

Gail, it was so nice to hear from you and catch up on what you are doing. We'll have to get together someday.

Nothing happening today, going to lunch with 2 friends at work. Have a god one!

Good Evening, Flowers! It's been a sunny, cold, and windy day in my corner of the world. Bob and I took stuff to the church for the rummage sale on Friday. It looks like people just dumped inside the door and down the hall rather than carry it on into the "gym" area where the sale will be held. It's at most another 6 steps and through a door! Then I went to bell choir practice and home again. Have a few paperback books to put in a box and will call it good. We usually have a sale for the nursing home in the fall so what I find over the summer can go there.

"Gma" -- I had to laugh at T's class and "that's Thomas's grandmother." How cute! MIL has enjoyed watching the basketball tournament games. I don't know one team from another but she watches quite a bit. Golf is her favorite and I think that is about as much fun as watching paint dry. I personally think it is awful what coaches and players get paid; they don't make any money off me.

Susan -- I could probably plant flowers in the dust in my curio cabinet. When we bought it the saleslady said it was dust proof. Yeah, right! I should have known better because it has a hole in the top for the light. I can always more fun things to do than clean!

Have a terrific Thursday tomorrow. I'm heading for bed shortly!
