Tifftif1985 I am envious you have a Wii Fit - I want one!! I was at a friends house last night and they were playing tennis on it - how cool! It does look like you can get a good workout too. More fun that hitting the gym ;-)

Fettucini - you all are making me drool

take a deep breath 01-26-2009 08:03 PM

welcome mygrits and bchlover! i have to agree that this is a GREAT place for buddies.

Neesy - I too have to ask what you are doing. 20 lbs. is great! Heck 5 felt good, till I got it back..haha!

Burgandy - thanks for the encouragement. the past couple of days have been rough and I feel close to saying f--- it. But when I come here and read the posts, it makes me feel all better and ready to jump back in.

My breakfast and lunch were good today (oatmeal and my ministroni/dumpling thing-I really need to come up with a name for that). But my problem now is that I get snacks from the machine at work. I got a small bag of frito's again AND a kit kat today.

I normally go to the grocery on the weekend, but didn't so I went to night. I got some lean lunchmeat, romaine and tomatoes for sandwiches since it's easy. I also got some whole wheat pita pockets that I plan on using for breakfast. Western egg Beaters, FF sour cream, salsa and LF cheese. Bananas and grapes for when I want to snack at work after lunch-better than the crap in the snack machine. I've also got cans of soup if I need it. So, tomorrow I will be better prepared for munchies.

I also jumped on the treadmill tonight, but I only lasted about 12 minutes. It's harder in the evening than in the morning for me, but I was dragging this morning and got to work 45 minutes late. But again, it's better than nothing! I'll get there, one baby step at a time. Especially with everyone's help in here.

Well gotta figure out what I want for dinner. Will check in tomorrow! And oh yeah, Carraba's is the BOMB! I get Luna Carraba when I go. It's not on the menu, but a combination of 2 of their menus items. *drooling*

MaddiesMom 01-26-2009 08:41 PM

I guess I'm the lucky one...I've never heard of Carraba's, and I just Googled them and the closest one is 40 miles away. The way you ladies are talking about it, that's probably a good thing!

I'm having a problem and I'm not sure if you guys can offer me advice. I've been calorie counting my way to weight loss, but now I'm concerned I'm not eating enough. I'm usually around 1,000 calories a day, but lately, I have breakfast so late (if at all) and I have a small lunch and dinner and no snacks. I'm wondering if that's really enough? Especially since I plan to start working out.

I think I read somewhere that if you do not eat enough calories, your body will start feeding on muscle rather than fat...and that if you eat that low amount of calories, your body will get too used to it and could cause problems down the road. Have any of you heard anything similar to that?? I don't want to be too aggressive with the calorie counting and have it hurt me in the long run.

burgundyrayne 01-26-2009 09:15 PM

I have never heard of Carrabbas either, but from all the food ya'll are talking about, I am glad I havent. I would probably be bigger than I already am. The closest one to me is about 3 or 4 hours away.

TiffTiff1985 01-26-2009 09:46 PM

LOL...Lucky...I had pizza for dinner too! I say that like it's a good thing..Well it was good but not a good thing. Unfortunately, they opened a pizza place that has amazing pizza basically across the street from us. It's going to be rough for the next couple of weeks trying to deal with it and not ordering every night. My downfall today was that I tried to not really eat anything because I did so bad this weekend. I had pineapple for breakfast and was going to eat a little something for dinner before the gym. However, I was on the way home from work and the pizza place finally said "open" when I drove by and the gym and a low cal dinner flew out the window. We got a large pizza, split it between us, and didn't go to the gym :( Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. I am not going to set myself up for failure and not eat anything all day. I will eat low calorie small meals all day and then go to the gym for two hours and watch the biggest loser. That is my goal for tomorrow.

Speaking of Carraba's, there are 6 within 40 miles of me. So, I am not safe from it.

Maddiesmom: From everything I have heard and read, you should not go below 1000 calories unless supervised by a dr. Especially if you are exercising as well, because you are burning even more calories than your basal metabolic rate (BMR). 1200 is supposed to be the lowest you should go, but alot of people on the board say that you should figure out your bmr (google it) and then deduct 1000 calories from that to find out how many calories you should consume to lose 2 lbs a week. I personally do not lose at that rate and go down to 1200-1500 a day, not being extremely strict with where in that range I fall.

Wish me luck tomorrow!

Neesy_20 01-27-2009 09:02 AM

Hey Rayne and Breath- Thanks for your support=) I basically just calorie count. But, I'm not really strict with it. I just approximate the number of calories I think it is. I do still eat out at restaurants, but eliminated fast food. I drink as much diet pop and water that I want. I know I should cut out the pop.. but I just CAN'T!. Other than that...It's just in moderation. I think about what I use to eat, and usually eat about half. Slow is the way to go. I don't really exercise. I lose more weight the more I work. I work 12hr shifts and am on my feet constantly. I occassionally do some tae bo type work outs in my living room. Nothing too strict. My doc started me on Metformin, which is usually given to diabetics. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome.. which means I have insulin resistance (not diabetic though). He told me that if I want to have kids.. then I have to lose weight. So... that's my goal. Plus.. I don't want diabetes later in life. Sorry for rambling on=)

Tiff-Good luck at the gym! I know you can do it!

Maddiesmom-You're right about the muscle wasting. I think 1200-1500 calories would really be more adequate.. but I'm no dietition.

Sandy- Thanks for the support! You look like you have been doing great! Almost 50lbs gone! WOW!!!!!!

On a side note: today we got like 8 inches of snow.. and I have to work again tonight. Ahh.... I hate driving in the snow!

I finally reached my Jan 31st goal.. ahead of schedule. My weight today was 219.8 . YAYAYAYAYAYAY! I couldn't have done it without all of you. So thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mygritsconfessions 01-27-2009 09:55 AM

Hey Neesy - thanks for the congratulations! I lost the weight 2 years ago, and actually lost more, but gained 40 back :( Which brings me to MaddiesMom's questions on 1,000 calories per day and then exercising.. Please don't do it! Here's why..

I am not expert, but I did what your asking. I kept my calories at 1,000 to 1,200 per day and boy did the weight come off. In the beginning I didn't exercise and then slowly incorporated it to where I was walking 5 or 6 days a week. I lost a ton of weight within 6 months - BUT I also lost alot of muscle. I became tired and flabby. The results - within 5 months I started gaining it back to where I am today at 222. So, I truly feel in my heart slow is better and healthier. When I looked up Fitday just now for my weight I should be consuming 1900 calories per day. I figure if I work out, to be healthy it should be 1600 which falls in line with everything I have researched. Doing this I should lose 2 to 3 pounds per week. 3 is really going over - 2 is more healthy, but I know I will cheat with eating too ;-)

I don't mean to ramble, but it was a hard lesson for me and I am still paying for it, because at my age I may never get that strength/muscle back.

Ok, TiffTiff1985 - Pizza is my love! My weakness! My passion! LOL
:D

MaddiesMom 01-27-2009 10:33 AM

It's strange, I'm not only eating the 1000-1100 calories on purpose, I'm just not hungry. Guess I'll have to start forcing myself to eat more calories (does that sound strange or what? Especially on a weight loss forum :) )

Thank you all for the advice. I figured that I should be eating more, but figured that I also shouldn't force myself to eat more if I'm not hungry. Maybe I'll eat something that has more calories in it. I'll figure it out.

Thanks for your help Ladies!

Neesy congrats on meeting your goal!! So wonderful!

luckylindy 01-27-2009 10:47 AM

Maddiesmom - wow, going under 1000 is dangerous. I know its hard because you are consuming to the point where your full but if you can atleast consume more calories with maybe a carnation drink with one of your meals? We have a designated nutritionist at my job that you can go into the clinic any Friday, so she educated me A LOT and did say that if you consume too few calories that it will start eating your muscle and slow down your metabolism. If any of you guys have questions, I can ask her, just let me know.

Takeadeepbreath- it looks like your on the right path by picking up all those things. The soup idea is great, I do that too. I also pick up things with lots of fiber, its more filling. I would also pick up items that you enjoy (cause realistically I can't eat fruit and veggies all the time). I pick up sugar free pudding or nutrigrain bars. Heck, even baked lays aren't that bad (every once in a while). You can do this! I used to call bs on anyone who told me to eat 5 times a day, in fact I even thought I gained weight when I did it, but now, after a month, it really does fill me up and I really do think my metabolism has sped up.

Tiff, todays your big workout day - good luck! I'm glad I was not alone in my pizza saga, lol. You are doing so well, I would love to see pics in the near future.

Has anyone received compliments from their peers on their weight loss? That's when I go full force. I haven't heard it yet but I know once I get to 20 pds, it will show. I can't wait.

I dodged Dunkin Donuts today, so I feel great. I hope everyone else is doing as well.

luckylindy 01-27-2009 10:51 AM

Uh oh, part of my message did not show up, in fact the most important part!

CONGRATULATIONS NEESY for meeting your first goal! Especially for meeting it before your deadline. Your awesome and we are SO proud of you. (Big applause) You are queen for the day!

TiffTiff1985 01-27-2009 12:36 PM

Congrats Neesy!!!!!!!

:dancer::dancer::congrat::dancer::dancer:

That's me doing the happy dance for you!!!

I am soo proud that you reached your first goal AND ahead of schedule. I wish I could say the same! I must have set my goal unrealistically though, because you started about the same time as me and you had a goal of 10 lbs less. Oh and I hope some of that snow stays until I get to Ohio later this week!

I just realized that I forgot to update my exercise goal for January in my signature after my Saturday workout. So that makes 80 more minutes for a total of 830 minutes. So, tonight's workout, if all goes as planned, will put me past my goal!!!! Oh and that's not even counting the 3 hours I have logged on my Wii Fit so far!!!! I mean it's fun and all and especially the yoga and the strength training work you pretty good, but the cardio doesn't even come close to how hard I work out in the gym. I keep my HR at about 150-160 in the gym. So, I jsut think of the Wii fit as time not spent on the couch not as actual exercise. Does anyone else feel that way?

One more gym accomplishment that I was absolutely thrilled about on Saturday was that I ran for a whole minute!!! LOL. I know that doesn't sound like alot, but you try getting 330 lbs moving 5 MPH for a whole minute and then come talk to me. My goal for tonight is to do two minutes. Even if I have to split them into 2 separate sprints, I will be happy. It's weird that I am having way more gym accomplishments than scale accomplishments. I know it is making me healthy and all, but I really want to look good as well as be fit. Please God, give me some scale accomplishments soon!

take a deep breath 01-27-2009 03:46 PM

Neesy - First of all.... :bravo: I really feel like I can do this when I see someone else who is. As to the weather, I'm there with you. As I said before, I'm in No. KY and they say tomorrow a.m. could be worse cause of the ice/rain mix..yipee... We got to leave work at 2pm today, just at the ice started coming down. I am sooo happy for that. Rush hour sucks when this stuff comes through.

So, today I had my oatmeal (not enough time for my egg thing since I had to clean the car of snow), a WW yogurt and leftovers from last night-tomato soup and grilled cheese. My stomach started growling again, so I think I will have my egg thing now! But I think I will get on the treadmill first. Gotta get it in since I have a couple extra hours today.

I'm wondering if I should make a goal. When I've done it in the past, it seems to get me off track. I'll think about it some more. Maybe in a week or two once I'm up and running again.

bchlover1977 01-27-2009 04:33 PM

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I need all the help I can get. I am actually on Lindora which I think is mainly in California. Not too many people are on it on this site. It's high protein, lower carbs which my body responds to. I lost 45 pounds on it 3 years ago and let it all come back. :( I am not going to do it again! I am on Day 2 and feeling good. So glad to have you all as support!

take a deep breath 01-28-2009 09:37 AM

I'm sitting here watching the snow come down and praying that I won't be one of the unfortunate ones who's power goes out! Currently 24,000 in Cincy/tri-state area. My work called off today. Level 3 there and power out. yipee!

I was thinking of jumping on my treadmill, but if a line snaps and the power goes out, I don't think I want to fall off my treadmill. Plus then, I would be sweaty and wouldn't be able to take a shower. Well I could before the hot water got cold, but I couldn't dry my hair. Not such a great idea. So, I will wait until it stops before I get into something.

I will just cruise this site and the news. Kinda nice not having to do anything, but still worried about power....:stress:

Neesy_20 01-28-2009 10:02 AM

Just wanted to jump on and say thank you to everyone! It makes me feel so good to have your support=)

Gotta get some sleep now. I'm working 12hr shifts back to back.

Hope everyone has a great day! Talk to you later!

luckylindy 01-28-2009 10:08 AM

Takeadeepbreath - I feel bad for you, espcially since it is 80 degrees here in Florida (little dig, just kidding). Sorry to hear about the weather. Can you do something "light" in exercise? Maybe a yoga dvd or something? Do you have the fit channnel on tv where you live? I would imagine today is a perfect day to exercise, since you can't go out or be distracted, minus the fact of shower snafu-that sucks!

I hope everyone is doing well. I am chewing A LOT of gum to subside my urge to munch today. I'm majorly stressed (taxes) and want to eat, but I am going to over come this.

How is everyone else doing today?

take a deep breath 01-28-2009 10:23 AM

Lindy - I have basic cable and I mean basic (cheaper). I do have a couple vids of yoga, walk in place and other stuff, but unfortunately, I am now addicted to live web stream from local weather station (fox19 . com if you want to see what's going on here right now). It's supposed to quit in about 1 1/2 hours. Then I will have to dig my car out, cause i KNOW we will be working tomorrow-although, the power is out right now, so maybe not. But I still have to go to mom's house to check on the cat later today and probably have to shovel there so I can park. I gave the cat lots of food yesterday cause I knew this would happen. So I will have that exercise to look forward to...haha!

Thighs Be Gone 01-28-2009 10:35 AM

Hey Ladies. Can I jump in the sandbox with ya'll. I have been around a while and post everywhere but would love to find a special group. :)

mygritsconfessions 01-28-2009 12:43 PM

Takeadeepbreath shoveling snow is great exercise! Especially if there is a lot of it. I hope all is alright and your power stays on! My sister lives in Louiville and had a snow day from work too. She is a teacher. I also have two nephew north of there that are at home. I hope your day is relaxing and good before you have to go out in the cold. :snow4:

Lindy we are neighbors! I too am in Florida in Deland (30 min. north). I actually grew up in Orlando, went to Boone High School. My parents still live there, along with my sister, a nephew and niece (and their families). Yes, it is a heated 80 degrees today ;-) I here that will change though!

I have been doing good, just had my oatmeal with a some grape nuts - yummy! I love it because it has a good amount of iron in it and really helps my energy, plus fills me up. :hungry:

Hope everyone has a good day and stay warm takeadeepbreath. :^:

KityCat 01-28-2009 12:46 PM

Hello everyone,
I was home sick with my son yesterday and unable to check in. I did eat fairly well though. I just can't eliminate soda. I am completly on diet only. So that's good. Today I have already drank 2 bottles of water, that's all I have been getting in a whole day and it's almost noon. So I feel like I am making progress and looking forward to weighing in tomor. I also got my ticker so I am pretty excited. Not sure if this post will show since it says it's moved. Still new a little so I am just tryng anyways.
Hope everyone is doing well today! :)

luckylindy 01-28-2009 01:30 PM

Hey Sandy! Yeah it is warm today but we will have our "cold" front on {riday, if that's what you call it. I used to work right next to Boone HS, so I know the exact area where you used to live. I have been in Orlando for about 15 years but lived in Connecticut prior to moving here.

I didn't think of all the excercise that takeadeepbreath will get with shoveling snow, what an awesome thought. I know its not fun, but it is exercise. I guess its like us in Florida. I do my lawn every2-3 weeks just for exercise. My husband doesn't like it and finds it strange that I'M doing it but hey, I can feel the sweat pouring off of me and its not that bad, in fact, I usually get a tan too. Lol.

Anyway, I had Hurst's 15 bean cajun soup today, it was AMAZING! If you like beans, I highly suggest making a pot of this and dividing it into portions. Its a packet mix and with a little ham, its low in calories and fills you up. I am seriously wanting to snack but not because I'm hungry, mainly for comfort and boredom, so I popped some gum in my mouth. Let's hope I can hold up till my snack time at 330.

KityCat 01-28-2009 01:43 PM

I have a problem with eating out of bordom, or just thinking about food (especially when depressed or sad) What is a good time frame to have between snacks/meals.
I was thinking 3 hours. Has anyone else tried this.
So if I eat lunch at 12p then I can't allow myself a snack or more food until 3p.

I was looking through some of the other threads on here for calorie counting, and have a better idea of how it works. I found that I should probably start with 1600 per day, and try to get exercising in!! I just wish I had more time to exercise. With working a FT day job and PT evening job it makes it tough with two kids.

luckylindy 01-28-2009 03:09 PM

Kity - it is hard and we understand your challenges with two kids and two jobs. That being said, if you can't exercise, why don't you try parking far in parking lots and walking more or taking the stairs at work (if that's an option). Just small things. I highly encourage the Wii too, that's something you can do with kids (even small ones) and get a workout. Just a thought.

Take care.

MaddiesMom 01-28-2009 11:54 PM

Kity: I know what it is like eating out of boredom. Right now I stay at home with my daughter full time and the fridge never closes here! Basically, I just started getting the willpower to say no. Then, as the weight started to come off, it became easier to say no to the bad stuff. I went to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch today and had a turkey burger on a wheat bun (no sauce) with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. And, instead of fries, I had broccoli. It really does start to become an easy choice. I also find that if I am bored, I have a glass of water, and if I'm still hungry, I have some raw walnuts. It takes the edge off of the hunger, and actually helps fill me up prior to meals (I have some with blueberries and yogurt in the morning, and it keeps me full for a few hours).

I'm starting to feel left out that most of you live in Florida! How unfair! It's 16 degrees here, and trust me, shoveling snow is a work out and it's horrible! It was 32 last week so I got the brilliant idea to surprise my hubby and shovel our driveway so he wouldn't have to do it...boy it was a workout! This will be fun for Kelly to unbury her car!

A welcome to bchlover, Thighs Be Gone, and Sandy. This is a great group of women and very supportive. They have really helped me a lot and I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Today was a good day! It started by me weighing myself and even though it's "that time of the month" I am still down another 2 pounds. I won't change my ticker though. To make things even better, I was able to get into my jeans that were a size smaller...and I was still pulling them up all day (and I had a belt on). This is the first time where I feel that I'm really making a difference and seeing a noticeable results.

I even decided today to enroll my daughter and I into a "mommy and me" class so I can get her more active and we can have some extra bonding time. It's been hard in Chicago, with it being so cold, I think we're both getting cabin fever.

Talk to you ladies soon! :)

TiffTiff1985 01-29-2009 12:11 PM

As of this morning, I have lost 25 lbs! I am down to 324.8 and started at 350. I was so excited when I saw that number this morning. I have one more day to lose weight before I leave on vacation, so I am shooting for 26 lbs. down. I did say at one point that I just wanted to be under 325 once I realized that I would not reach my goal, so I did that at least! I really hope I can maintain my weight if not lose a couple lbs. while I am in Ohio. We have all day to be active, no work for a whole week, so theoretically I should be able to lose more than at home! Haha, we know that is not going to happen. Oh well, it is a vacation. I am going to relax, and enjoy myself. And by enjoying myself I do not mean eating everything in sight.

Everyone hasn't been around too much the past couple days. Where ya been!? Better not be off the wagon...if you are, get back on and post!

KityCat 01-29-2009 12:16 PM

Lindy and Maddies Mom,
Thanks for the support.
I am actually borrowing my sisters wii right now and I think she also borrowed me the wii fit game, I should double check I have it for about one more week. I am borrowing to see if I really want one. I think I do more now than before!!

Well......I justed looked on weather.com and it says it's 10 degrees here but feels like -6 degrees. So I totally understand the cold. I am just used to it always cold. I will probably shovel once I get home today from work. It snowed a little last night but I was working and not going to shovel at 2am once I got home.

I attempted to get up early to run on elliptical, that is not going to work on the days where I work late the night before. I am aiming for Tuesday and Thursday nights and then getting up early on Wednesday, and Fridays. I am hoping I can stick to it. Wish me luck, Please:)

I am noticing that I am starting to give up. So with knowing a little more about the calorie counting, I am hoping that will work out better. I'll check in later tonight, confrences tonight.........:)

mygritsconfessions 01-29-2009 12:44 PM

TiffTiff2985 - :congrat: CONGRATULATIONS on your weightloss and reaching your goal! :woohoo:

KitCat - I too eat out of boredom and especially in front of the TV. So, in saying that a few things have helped me. First, I now only eat at the table and enjoy my food. When eating in front of the TV that is blind eating and half the time I don't enjoy or even taste the food. Second, I write down (actually log into Fitday) ALL the foods I eat, which keeps me accountable and within my caloric needs. Third, I keep snacks (low calorie) accessible, so when I do grab is not real fattening. These all have seem to help me stay on track. ;)

Lucklindy - Hey neighbor ;-) :dancer: Doing law work is great exercise, as you use different muscle groups. I love gardening, and unfortunately don't do it alot lately, as everything is dead, but when I do, it's a workout. I have lived here since my Dad retired back in I think 1968. I did live in Tennessee briefly and loved the change of scenery and seasons. Deland is a really nice change, as it isn't as crowded and still has some farmland (not alot anymore though). Anyway, we hope to move up to the mountains if our home ever sells (been trying for 6 months.)

This morning I had some yummy Whole Grain Waffles with strawberries/blueberries and lite whip cream. YUMMMMM!

Have a great day everyone!

Sandy

bchlover1977 01-29-2009 01:30 PM

Hello everyone! Thaks for all the welcomes. It means a lot to know there are many people in my same situation. Well, I weighed in this morning and am down 5 punds since Sunday. I kow that is water weight and won't keep going like that, but it's enough to get me motivated. I haven't cheated once. I have gotten in all the water (80oz!) and even though it keeps me in the bathroom a lot, I am loving it. I am determined to be in a swimsuit this summer. YAY! How is everyone?

bchlover1977 01-29-2009 01:32 PM

PS- I have no idea how to change my ticker. It says I GAINED 5 pounds when I really lost it. Any help? Thanks!

burgundyrayne 01-29-2009 03:20 PM

I am so excited. I got on the scale this morning and it said 228.8. Yay!!! I wont change my ticker until Sunday. Maybe it will even be down a little more by then. Almost to my first 10 lb goal.

Tiff-that is a good idea making an exercise goal. I should try that, but I need to get in more exercise. I am hopefully getting a wii fit tomorrow. And congrats for losing 25 lbs. That is awesome.

Maddiesmom-Good job on being down 2 more lbs.

Kity-Good job getting on the elliptical. You have such a busy schedule, so anytime you get it in is good.

Bchlover--YAY! 5 lbs, getting the ball rolling and being here will keep you motivated.

Have a good evening everyone.

luckylindy 01-29-2009 06:01 PM

Kity - wow the eliptical, thats awesome. Dont give up - we are here for you and just think of the reward of great fit you, just months away.:drill: - you can do it!

TIFF - YAY!!! Congratulations on your weight loss, you are doing SO good. You deserve a nice, relaxing vacation - you are AWESOME.:cheer:

BCH - 80 oz. of water. WOW - thats A LOT. I am drinking water but not that much. Heres how to update your ticker (properly): under your signature, go where the code is, where you see the 3 number (i.e.:220/215/130) select the middle weight, delete it and replace with your new weight (i.e.: 220/210/130). DOes that make sense?

Burgundy - HOO_RAH for getting to your 10 lb. goal, it is so important, once you get there, it motivates you to take it to the next level, I am 2 pds. away and get to weigh in tomorrow, I'm hoping I meet my goal but if I dont, thats ok. I'll see on Sunday, if not tomorrow (Sunday is my usual weigh in day) . My goal was 10 lbs. per month. I am going to work on my Wii Fit now, it such a nasty rainy day today in Orlando, so no outside walk. :(

See ya later!

Thighs Be Gone 01-29-2009 09:17 PM

Hi Ladies!

Thank you MaddiesMom for the welcome!

It has been a super busy but good day here. After five years of not visiting my doctor (yes, bad I know) I finally did so this week. I had a complete physical with bloodwork done and it came back today--all normal thanks be to God! I am having a CT Scan run the morning but am not concerned about it--it is being run as a precaution since I have involuntary movement in my abdomen.

I did well on calories today. Last night I ran despite some icy bits here or there. I didn't run today because of the continued ice and heavy fog. After my scan in the morning, I will probably go.

Today while I was waiting for my lab results I needed something to take my mind off of the possible outcomes so I went shopping! I bought some boots and a couple of blouses. I bought some of those just below the knee slacks to wear with the boots. Does anyone know the look I am referring to? If so, is it still in style? The slacks are plaid with rich brown and pinks. The boots are chocolate brown butter leather type that come almost to the knee. I need fashion advice!

Morning Thighs!

"Technically", no the look is not in style right now, its more of a fall look, but my thought process is, if it looks good on you and works with the weather, then wear it. That is a cute look though. ;)

I walk everyday no matter what, even when it got to 20 degrees last week ( in Florida, crazy!) I cant imagine there being ice and running. How hard is that?

Well I weighed in today, I have one more day and one more pound to meet my goal, I was hoping to do it today, but tomorrow is technically the last day of the month so Ill allow myself that buffer. The bad thing is, I am going to have to rely on my Wii Fit for exercise because it is so nasty and rainy here today. I might use my friends buddy pass and go to the gym. We are on a budget so I cant get a membership but to go for one day, thats ok.

Ill check in later - HAPPY FRIDAY!

Bch - Wow, 80oz of water? That is alot. I have manage 60 on some occasions and thought I would float away! :swim:

Lindy - I do respect your dedication to walking. I used to be so good about that, but just can't seem to get into my routine anymore. I was going to go today, but still haven't made it out the door. This weather isn't cooperating either!

I am leaving town tonight and won't be able to weigh, so I will have to post mine next week. I just don't trust other scales with the same reading..LOL

Have a great day everyone! :carrot:

Tiff- That's soo awesome 25 pounds!! I can only imagine the feeling you are having. That's great, you should feel really pround. And enjoy your vacation! :)

Sandy- I was thinking about eating in front of the tv, I do tend to eat ALOT more when I do this. I will try to make a point to eat at the table when hungry. This would be a good rule with my kids no eating in living room only kitchen. That way if I was truely hungry I can still see tv it's just not as comfy at kitchen table vs. couch! That's a really good idea.

I did pick up some low calories 100 and 90 calories individual snacks quaker rice cakes and granola bars and things like that. I really like celery alot but only with the ranch dip for veggies. So I am not sure if it's really good for me since I put dip on it?

Burgandy- 10 pounds!! That's awesome, Congrats. :)

BCH- 80 oz of water is ALOT, but if you can do it great for you. I am having trouble just getting the 64oz in per day. I am at about 1/2 right now.
I was going to try lemon juice or a lemon in the water, since I think water is just too plain. Not sure which is better, if either??

Lindy- Love the drill sargent!! LOL that's motivating right there!! Ha HA

Well..........Fianlly I can say I did go on the elliptical only last 10 minutes, but I look at it as a start. I attempted to try 20 minutes, and survived 1/2 the time. So I will continue to shoot for Tuesday and Thursday nights to stick with it. And overall its' not hurting if anything it will hopefully give me a boost in metabolism. I am hoping.

I had confrences last night for my son, he's in first grade, they went really well, he is on schedule or a littel above the average. So I thought that was good news.

As far as this calorie counting is about 1600 per day pretty accurate for me, anyone know?

Thanks again for all the support, I truely want to stick with this. Thanks much :)

KityCat 01-30-2009 12:03 PM

**Sorry the post was soo long, had a littel extra time today to get caught up. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I will not be able to check back until Sunday or Monday morning. I will be weighing in on Sunday, Wish me luck for a lower number to put on ticker. I have my fingers crossed!!!!LOL

luckylindy 01-30-2009 12:50 PM

Kity - 10 minutes on the eliptical is something, you are right and thats how it all starts. As far as the celery thing, no, ranch with celery is a no-no. Celery has virtually no calories hardly at all. I dont enjoy celery but if Im craving something sweet or need a pick me up, i have celery with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter and it is delicious. I could be better and eat it alone but I just dont like it. If you really wanted to indulge, have celery and dip but count your calories in your serving of dip, theres no reason to deprive yourself.

Kity - 1600 is about right for your calorie intake. as you get smaller though, you will need to decrease that number. Im supposed to consume 1900 a day! But I try hard to keep it around 1400, sometimes 1600. Its not hard either, as long as I do my 5 meals a day.

I feel like Im cramping, which I hope is not the case because I really want to weigh in tomorrow morning and see if I met my goal. Same as Kity - fingers crossed.

I cant wait to see what Kity and Thighs weigh in at. I look forward to everyones weigh in, it kinda keeps me motivated, I mean, who wants to be the smallest loser (lol).

TiffTiff1985 01-30-2009 03:27 PM

so I just figured out while I am riding here in my car (fiance is driving) that I can access 3FC on my palm centro! so yay I get to check on this thread while we are on our 11 hr drive today and 9 hrs tomorrow! I can't read other posts while I write though...so I am going to refer to other peopls posts but I won't remember who wrote it. about the celery...i think if u get light ranch and use it sparingly you can have a relatively low cal snack with lots of bulk.

you guys won't believe this. so our dogs are traveling with us. my yorkie is in my lap as we speak and my DF's lab is in the back seat. so they both just stood up and started sniffing the air like crazy and my dog started whining....about a minute we passed a science diet dog food truck!!!!! I was laughing so hard because they both smelled it from a half a mile away and through the truck! I guess they're both fatties like their owners. and its not like they could be hungry since they had a double breakfast since we are traveling.

thanks for all the congratulations! I went to outback last night with my mom and had a house salad and shared a grilled shrimp appetizer and had two slices of their delicious bread...and didn't go to the gym and STILL lost another half pound this morning. sometimes the scale just doesn't make sense. I got on the morning and just kept telling myself it was going to be a gain so I wouldn't be dissapointed and it went the opposite direction!!

thighs...that sounds like a cute bottom of the outfit! I don't really care about seasons and clothes fitting in a certain part of the year since I am in florida and we don't have seasons. I wear capris year round and short sleeve shirts every day...if it gets chilly I just throw a sweater over. I brought every single long sleeve shirt and shweater I own. I only had like 4 pairs of full pants to bring...lol. but back to the topic...screw the seasons...wear it now!

that's all I can remember. I guess that's all I'm allowed to write...talk to you later!!!

Neesy_20 01-31-2009 12:28 AM

Hey Tiff! That's so funny about your dogs. I drove from Arizona to Ohio with my two chihuahuas on my lap. It was crazy!!! Never will do it again! I didn't get to say congrats on the 25lbs!!!!! That is amazing. Has anyone started to notice your weight loss yet?

No one has really mentioned anything about me looking lighter, but I definitely feel that I do. I just tried on some pants that I wore like 4 years ago that I couldn't button up... and now they are perfect! My arms and my face are a lot thinner. I can't wait to be able to post before and after photos on here! I feel like I'm really accomplishing something now. I haven't been under 200lbs since my first year of college. If I make... no WHEN I make my birthday goal.. I will be ecstatic!!!

Hope everyone is doing well. Will check in later=)

luckylindy 01-31-2009 10:32 AM

AND drum roll please...:trampo: I BEAT MY FIRST GOAL. I am on cloud nine right now. Not only did I lose my 10 lbs. in 1 month, I exceeded it (maybe by only a smidge) but hey, I exceeded it!

Tiff, I'm happy to hear that you can log in from your palm, I would love to hear how your vacation is going and if you will power is holding up.

Neesy- I'm glad to hear from you. You ahould almost be at the point where people start to notice your weight loss. For me, once I get around 25-30 pds. thats when people comment to me (like neighbors and peers). Of course, my family states that they can tell Im losing weight after 2 pds. -lol. Bless their hearts for lying. I look forward to seeing your before and afters. I took the WORST before ever, but I did that intentionally. I put on my most fattening outfit and took the pic at night after my first workout, so I was miserable, sweaty, bloated and just blah, this is the same picture that I have hanging in my kitchen. Sure, company looks at me a little funny, but it definately keeps me from cheating.

Anyway, I hope everyone's elses weigh ins go well this weekend, I look forward to logging on today and tomorrow.

Talk to you later.
