Burgandy: I went to Culvers today for lunch, and since I knew that was where my hubby wanted to eat, I went online and checked out their menu to see what I could have. Decided on a caesar salad, no parm cheese and no croutons. Salad with dressing (I brought my own low cal parm cheese) was only 370 calories. Not too shabby! Maybe you could do something similar with looking at the nutritional information for IHOP and other places you think you may eat.

Neesy: Don't sweat 3 pounds, it's probably just until the food gets out of your system and water weight.

Take A Deep Breath: So sorry to hear about your ordeal, but you still lost a pound through all of that! So congrats to you. My thoughts are with you while you are going through this difficult period.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm down 9.6 pounds by just changing my diet. I'm thrilled. :carrot:

luckylindy 01-11-2009 04:56 PM

Oh - I so wish I could weigh in today and let you know how much I've lost, but like I said (like a hundred times), I'm still bloated.

Maddiesmom - wow, 9.6 pounds is awesome!!! Keep up the good work.

Burgundy - 4 pounds in 13 days is impressive. Realistically, 1-2 pounds a week is whats going to keep it off (at least thats what they say), so your right on track. It's all about making lifestyle changes and it seems like you are doing an excellent job.

Takeadeepbreath - I am so sorry to hear about what's going on right now, for both you and your mom. Stay strong and know that you have a support system here with us. I know we have never met but I look at all of you as friends and am here anytime if someone wants to vent. I know when I am majorly stressed I GAIN WEIGHT, so to lose a pound, that is an accomplishment - kudos to you. I know what you mean about pre-planning meals, sometimes you just dont want to. I pick veggies that are easy to prepare. Ya know, frozen veggies are just as good and taste great steamed.

Neesy - 3 pounds is no sweat, considering you have been on vacation, you shouldn't feel too bad. Once your back into the swing of things this week, Im sure those pounds will melt away in no time. You said that your having surgery in February? If you dont mind me asking, what for? If you do, thats ok, I wont be upset if you dont want to share.

Today was Sunday, you know, the big Sunday meal at my Grandmothers house. Well, she had turkey with gravy, stuffing, corn, bread, baked potatos and lemon cake. Even though turkey is healthy, I do not like fresh turkey (only turkey lunch meat), so I passed on that. Corn is really not that healthy, but I had a small scoop, I had a bit too much of the stuffing (it was liver stuffing), but it was so good and I wouldnt change that for anything. I passsed on everything else, including the lemon cake, so all in all, I did pretty well. Later on I had a fat free cheese stick and a can of Campbells Healthy Harvest. I'm getting hungry now, so I might have something like chicken and green beans, thats what I'm in the mood for.

I'm glad to hear that pretty much everyone had a productive week in weight loss. I'll check in later.

burgundyrayne 01-11-2009 08:42 PM

So I was thinking that today was Saturday and that I weighed a day early, but it is in fact, Sunday. So weigh in was right on schedule. Had my days all mixed up this week.

Maddiesmom- Thanks for the tip. I think I will do that. That way on Wednesday night I will know what I can get and will be less likely to pig out. I will have to remember to take some of my 100 claorie packs and a grapefruit so I am not tempted to have some of the snacks I know my DH will buy.

I am so glad to have found this forum, you ladies keep me motivated to keep going and not give up. Usually I would have by now. Also my sisters are trying to lose weight too, so we keep each other in check too. My older sister only has like 25 lbs to go. My twin sister wont tell me what she weighs cos I wont tell her what I weigh yet. I dont know what it is, I can share my weight here but with family I just cant bring myself to do it yet. I know I will, I just want to be smaller when I do.

I need to go clean and get a workout in, so have a good night ladies.

violentgirlx 01-11-2009 09:00 PM

I'd love to be a buddie and have lots of other buddies as well ( ;

KityCat 01-11-2009 10:41 PM

Hello everyone!
Sorry I was not able to check in earlier with all of you. It sounds like everyone is right on track or at least trying their best to get back on track. Congrats to all of you. I did not do so well this weekend Pizza!! and more pizza! I am soo frusterated with myself I don't really have any diet plan I am following or counting calories. I had joined LA wight loss in the past as I had mentioned and now they are closed. I thought that had worked in the past but knowing I don't have to weigh in I feel like that's in a way to have freedom on what I eat. I am still new to this, but in a way I feel like if I used this as my "weighing in" it could possible work for me. I know what I need/should do it's just to actually commit to it is another. I keep gaining, and not loosing. It is actually depressing. I know I feel like a sap, I am just not able to have will power. My birthday is at the end of next month and it would be really nice to loose just 10 pounds by then but I always think "what can I eat?" I am a salts person, I eat when bored, and if I think it's been too long since I ate then I think I need to eat. I should just eat when hungry. I did improve on the water though and cut down on pop. That's one step in the right direction. I did go to grocery store and pick out healthy choices for lunches and I am hoping I can stick to it well all this week instead of eating out with co workers.

I am very proud of all of you for accomplishing your goals with your weight loss. Congrats again.

I hope this works out for helping me loose the weight I intend to loose.

** Sorry for sounding so pitiful!! It's not intended. Just venting a little......

Neesy_20 01-12-2009 01:44 AM

Violentgirlx- :welcome: It's great to have you! What is your diet plan?

Rayne- Thanks for the encouragement.. Oh.. I LOVE IHOP. I think they have salads. I use to get the big steak omelet with hasbrowns and pancakes. :hungry: mmm... that sounds so good. Don't do it! You'll get addicted. Be strong!

Lindy-Thanks for the support=) I don't mind to share. I'm having surgery to remove uterine polyps that my doc discovered last month. He said they are usually not cancerous, but he's going to biopsy and remove them. He said that this is one of the reasons why I haven't been able to conceive. My husband and I are really hoping that we'll have some success after the surgery. I wanted to lose weight before conceiving, however I'd be happy if it happens sooner. We are a little baby crazy lately...
:preg: <--hopefully me one day! (not fat, just pregnant.. haha)

Kitycat-You're making good strides by getting healthy lunch options. Hang in there. We're here for you. I have gained 3lbs over my vacation. I know what its like to eat when you're bored. I tried to stay as busy as possible during my time off, but it didn't work. I'm glad I'm going back to work on tuesday.
Vent anytime you like! That's what we're here for. I do it ALL the time. =)

Maddiesmom- :thanks: I hope it'll pass and I'll have a big drop. I know I need to exercise more to atleast increase my metabolism. Dieting alone doesn't get me anywhere. :congrat: :cheer:Congrats on the 9.6lbs!!!!!!! I'm so jealous!

take a deep breath 01-12-2009 07:34 AM

Burgundy, Nessy, Maddie, Linday - Thank you so much for your support! I'm sure my friends and co-workers are sick of hearing about it. But for me, the stress does not go away. I SOOOOO need this forum! HAHA!

Kity - Don't beat yourself up! We've all done it so we come back here to get the encouragement we need to push through. We will keep each other in check and listen to each other when we don't.

Take it one meal at a time ladies and when things go 'fuzzy' in your head like mine, take a deep breath to collect yourself and think about what you really want.

luckylindy 01-12-2009 09:02 AM

Neesy - thanks for sharing, Ill say a little prayer for you that your surgery goes well and that you are to conceive quickly :). I get baby fever every once in a blue moon, i have a7 yr. old and sometimes I ask myself, why do I want to start over again, espcially financially.

Kity - you are always welcome to vent and as much as you'd like. we have all done it and no one here is judging you, we are all here to support you. Buying healthy lunch options is a great start, if you stock your cabinets and fridge with quick to grab healthyy snacks, your less likely to cheat. I buy zip lock baggies and every weekend I take 30 minutes to wash and cut up my fruit, then I individually bag them into single portions. If Im ever running behind or am hungry and on the run, i just grab a bag (or 2) and take it with me. This might help with you. Also, having pizza is not horrible, just eat it in moderation. have half of what you normally eat. oh, and bravo to you for cutting down on the pop, that alone is a challlenge and you seem to being conquering it well.

So this morning I tried on a pair of pants that I knew were snug, and guess what?! They were still snug! haha - I can only laugh because I thought for sure I could wear them to work today. Eventually I will. I intend on getting on the scale tomorrow morning, I dont feel as bloated. After my pants saga I dont think I lost as much as I thought, but even if I lost a pound i would be happy. Although cutting out soda, I would hope I lost a little more than that.

On a side note, Im writing from my G1 cell phone again, so please ignore my lack of proper grammar and punctuation.

burgundyrayne 01-12-2009 12:12 PM

Good morning ladies.

Welcome violent, just jump right in. We all know what you are going through.

Kity-dont let eating pizza one time get you discouraged. Just get right back and track and stay positive. You can do this.

Neesy- I wont have the steak and pancakes. Will probably go with a salad and then workout after dinner.

Lindy-just keep going and try on the pants again after a few more lbs are gone.

I have to get away from my scale. I am obsessed. I weighed today and am still at 226, yay! I cant wait to get the whole 10 lbs off. I was thinking about trying yoga today. I recorded a yoga class the other night, maybe its not too advanced and I can do it. Does anyone get the Veria channel?? If you do there are a lot of exercise shows and some healthy cooking shows. I love that channel. Just wish I had FitTV. But with all my DVD's and the shows I record, I should be good.

The dishes are calling me, they want to be washed. I will check in later. I find myself on here a few times a day. :p

KityCat 01-12-2009 12:14 PM

Thanks all for the support. I am having trouble at work with actually getting paid and walked in to work today and first thing I say is "I quit!" Ended up getting in huge fight with my boss and demanding that I get paid now as his account is NSF!! That's not my fault. So I have things somewhat contolled at least for the time being and I ended up with a DR. PEPPER. But I needed it. I am furious..........
I did start off with good intentions this morning I weighed my self still up that eveil pound, from when I started. I am pretty sure that my stress level right now is not helping my situation. I am going to eat mu lunch I brought in as intended. I can't let my boss take over my entire appetite too. I can do this. I can do this.

Good luck to everyone today. I will check back in later. I work a double shift on Mondays. So I will check in when I get a chance.

Let's all have a great Monday and start the week off great :)

KityCat 01-12-2009 12:16 PM

Does anyone have any idea if pilates works?

Also, does anyone know about the 100 calorie snacks, is it a good choice?

luckylindy 01-12-2009 12:43 PM

Wow Kity, it sounds like you have an eventful day! I hope everything works out in your favor. I have tried the 100 calorie snacks and they are ok. They are certainly not healthy and if you have time, if you take let's say 3 oreo cookies, it really does breakdown to the same serving in ounces and calories, except the 100 calories snacks cost more. Now, some of chip like 100 calories snacks are SLIGHTLY better because they are baked, but not by much.

Stay focused Kitty, your doing a great job. Try not to let others get the best of you. If anything, feel free to jump on the forum to vent. I check it evert few hours.

Take care everyone.

KityCat 01-12-2009 02:22 PM

Thanks Lindy for the support and understanding. I haveyet to eat anything at this point I am way to upset still. Just that one can of dr pepper. that's it for me so far I am trying to only eat when hungry I think my anger will keep my metabolism going!! I'll check back later.

luckylindy 01-13-2009 09:34 AM

Yesterday I had some chicken nuggets, they were good and I only had 5, so I did not go over my calorie intake for the day. now, funny story. I also made velveeta scalloped potatoes, which me and my family LOVE and that was a non negotiable side, I definately did not want to eat any of that, I could visually see myself blow up eating it, so...after i served my husband and my daughter I had a lot left over. We do not eat left overs (I dont know why and yes, I realize Im wasting money), so anyway, once I served them, I quickly filled the pan up with soap and water so I couldnt go back to it later. :) Pretty smart move for me, considering how much I like that stuff. Anyway, I was going to weigh myself today but managed to still wake up bloated (ugh...is my friend ever going to leave), I hope I can weigh myself soon, I would like to know where eating 5 times a day is getting me.

I hope everyone is having a good week. Neesy if you read this today - I wish you all the best on your surgery tomorrow.

luckylindy 01-13-2009 09:39 AM

Oooops...sorry Neesy, I realized I said tomorrow and your surgery is not until next month. Haha, I'm such a space cadet (sp?) Sometimes. Just ignore me.

TiffTiff1985 01-13-2009 11:30 AM

Hey everyone... I've been MIA, I know. I have still been crazy busy. Boss is finally back today, so I can breath finally. I have been doing decent. I have been craving junk food, so I have been eating it, but I have been staying within my calories (generally). Last night I went back to the gym for the first time since I think last Thursday. Had an awesome workout, I was up to 6.5 mph on the elliptical and at my max cardio heartrate. I can't wait for tonights, since the biggest loser is on. It makes me work super hard. I lost another couple lbs. I am finally unbloated (I feel your pain LuckyLindy). I actually only ate like 600 cals yesterday cause I was so busy, but I wasn't too hungry. I am guessing that's why I had the big loss today (down 2.5 lbs since yesterday).

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my progress. Sorry I can't type more, but time isn't permitting. I've read everyone's posts, and I am just so happy with how well everyone is doing!!! Do great today!

KityCat 01-13-2009 11:41 AM

Hello everyone :)
JUST checking in today. Mondays are so hard, I have to work doubles from both jobs I have. I worked until 2am last night I did end up having total of 2 cans of pop, but I tried doing a calorie count yesterday just to see about what I intake per day (while trying to keep it down) and I think my total intake cal with 2 cans of pop waws about 1200-1300. I have never really done the calorie counting before, but I was thinking if I actually take a point to look and try to keep track I am at least reading the label first, and this will help with eating out, I keep telling myself if there is no label I can't eat it. This will eliminate drive thru runs for me and make me bring healthy snacks along. I also, am trying to eat a granola bar in the morning when dropping kids off, as I have never been much of breakfast eater, I was told it's very important to eat in morning. It seems to be ok. I FINALLY lost that 1 measly pound that I had gained shortly after joining last week. 1 pound, I am pretty sure that my stress life is not helping right now.

luckylindy 01-13-2009 06:41 PM

Hey Tc! I was wondering what happened to you. Im glad to hear your doing so well in your weight loss journey. It seems like everyone is really busy? Or are people dropping off from our forum? Lol.

Just checking in. I am feeling REALLY HUNGRY today, I already ate dinner and still could have another meal. Im trying not to play into my hunger and drink a lot of water. I am going to try some steamed veggies or a all natural shake, maybe that will fill me up? Ill check in tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.

Yay Kity - 1 measly pound (lol) is great. In time, everything will happen in time.

MaddiesMom 01-13-2009 08:02 PM

New Good Recipe

Hey Ladies,
Glad to hear that everyone is doing well, one pound at a time is my new motto. I really have to thank you all for your support. This is the longest time that I have been on a diet and haven't cheated! I know it's been less than 2 weeks, but usually by now I am giving into my cravings. I think all of your support has really helped me through.

I've been eating less than 1,200 calories a day and when I'm hungry, I have a large glass of water and I don't give in to the temptation of having something else. Worse case scenario...I have a banana. I really feel as though I'm not on a diet...I'm making a lifestyle change. I've tried some really good recipes in the past few days and thought I would share.

Turkey Burgers:
1.2 pounds of ground turkey (4 oz of ground turkey is 140 calories, and WalMart sells the turkey in 1.2 lb increments)
1 tbsp of Italian bread crumbs
Montreal Seasoning (or whatever seasoning you'd like)
1/2 an egg

I grilled them on my new grilling pan my hubby bought for me (I like it better than a Foreman because you can control the temperature). I grilled and had it with tomato, lettuce, and pickle. It was really good, I think I liked it better than a regular burger. The best part is that I can have the leftovers for tomorrow.

Chimichito
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
(1) 4 oz can diced green chilies
3/4 cup red salsa
1/2 cup enchilada sauce
Instead of flour tortillas, I used the multigrain ones
Cheddar Cheese, shredded (I use the WW Mexican blend)
Light Sour Cream
Cilantro

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In a non-stick pan, combine chicken, salsa sauce and green chiles, mix until just heated through. Heat tortillas in microwave about 30 seconds to make them pliable.

2. Spoon 1/4 of the chicken mixture on each tortilla and roll up—sides in first then over the top to keep everything in. Place on a greased baking sheet and very lightly rub top of burrito with olive oil.

3. Bake until just starting to get golden brown,15-20 minutes. While they cook, warm the enchilada sauce.

4. Spoon warm enchilada sauce on a plate, place baked chimichito on top, add a spoonful of sour cream and sprinkle with cheese and cilantro.

Sorry for the long post, but I know that eating the same old thing every day can get tiring. As I find new recipes, I will be sure to post them.

burgundyrayne 01-13-2009 08:23 PM

So last night I didnt feel like cooking, so we went to the grocery store deli and got a bucket of FRIED CHICKEN!!!! Yikes, I had fried chicken, coleslaw and a couple potato wedges. Why did I do that. And to make things worse, we had leftovers and had those for dinner. I am trying not to beat myself up about it, I just keep telling myself I will do better tomorrow. And I WILL!! Tomorrow is a new day and I will stay on plan.

Have a good night everyone and keep going!~

Allison

luckylindy 01-13-2009 09:44 PM

MaddiesMom - wow, those recipes sound delicious. Last time I received a recipe on here I ate it 3 times in a week. I especially like the sound of the turkey burgers. Thanks for sharing!

Burgundy - thats a great way to stay focused, get back on the horse. I know for a fact that I am going to have an off day on Friday. I am going out with friends for dinner and drinks and I have no intention of staying on track but I am going be strict the rest of the week so that I dont stress over Friday. So consider yesterday your cheat day and then rest of the week you take it easy.

I ended up having my smoothie tonight because I was still hungry after dinner and it held me over, so I'm happy. Im hoping to weigh tomorrow, I cant wait to let you guys know.

Talk to you tomorrow ladies. Have a good one.

MaddiesMom 01-13-2009 09:52 PM

Lindy,
I had two 4 oz turkey burgers and a small sweet potato for dinner at 5:45, and I'm still full, which is really nice. I think if we come across a good recipe, we should definitely share! :)

TiffTiff1985 01-13-2009 11:55 PM

Well, I just got home from the gym and grocery shopping. I has been a looooong day. I got home at like 7:15 (I live 2 minutes from work) and changed, and immediately went to the gym after grabbing a sugar-free apple sauce. I was still pretty hungry on the way to the gym, so I stopped at Taco Bell and got one grilled chicken and cheese taco. Mmmhmmmhmmmmmm..lol. It was yummmmy. I am pretty darn happy that I went to a fast food restaraunt and only had about 250 calories. So I went on to the gym and discovered that I shouldn't have eaten so soon before working out hardcore...lol. I just didn't feel so great for the first 10-15 minutes. Watched the biggest loser again while I worked out and made it for about 95 minutes (60 mins elliptical and 35 mins bike). I would have went all the way until 10 but my DF left at about the 75 minute mark and I didn't want to make him sit in the car bored for too long. So diet wise, today was good. About 1300 calories and burned off about 900 cals in exercise.

MaddiesMom, that turkey burger sounds super yummy. Since I have been dieting, I haven't really cooked at all. It's just the two of us and we really don't eat whole meals and really don't eat the same things. So we each just microwave a tv dinner or some veggies or I make a salad. I actually do most of my eating for the day at work (even breakfast) since I have been working so late lately. But I may change up the pace a little bit and try out those burgers!

LuckyLindy - here's to hoping you see a great number on the scale int he morning!!!

luckylindy 01-14-2009 08:12 AM

Today is a great day! Do you know why its a great day?! Because if you look under my picture and see my weight you can see I lost 6.5 pounds! Woo-hoo! I feel awesome and that everything I have changed is well worth it. I comsume about 1400 calories a day and burn off about 250 so I am sticking to my program. I don't weigh food or count calories to the "T", I just guesstimate and all of it seems to be working. I am super happy and excited to share my results with you.

Have a great day everyone, I know I will. ;)

bexx 01-14-2009 11:12 AM

Hi all. I've been gone for a while - super busy...but trying to stay on plan. I can feel myself slipping though. I went to the rodeo this past weekend and had 3 light (but very large) beers. I still didn't go above my calorie intake...but beer is not on my diet. And then this morning I had a poptart for breakfast, I only had one instead of the 2 that come in a package so it was only 220 calories, but still....poptarts are NOT on my diet!! I've been doing the Jillian Micheal's 30 day shred in the morning and am wiped out by the time school gets out (I work in a school). Yesterday, they changed the schedule at one of the schools I work at so there is 'physical activity' for 30 minutes Tuesday mornings, so I joined the high schoolers for some yoga which was fun, but painful after the 30 day shred.

Help me stay OP - I've seen a bit of a gain recently and have been trying to stay OP. Usually when I see a gain, I quit immediately. I've made a couple of small slips, but haven't quit entirely...wish me luck!!

(the special ed teacher just told me that the parent teacher conferences tomorrow night are being catered by the macaroni grill....I need all the will power I can get to keep from pigging out!! I love Italian food...)

KityCat 01-14-2009 12:59 PM

Maddiesmom_ I think I will try the turkey burgers tonight fo rdinner, they sound really yummy!! I have always wanted to try a turkey burger :)

Lindy_ WOW!! That's soo exciting that you are down 6.5 pounds!! I am jealous!! LOL

TC_ That's great that you are staying on track. I am proud of you!! :)

Bexx_ I totally agree with the giving up part thats' what I always do. If I don't see results even a pound shedding off I give up immediatily and then for me I seem to gain more probably binge eating.

I am open to any diet/plans anyone thinks may work.
I tried doing the calorie count and that is just too much work. I am up for the challenge and truely desperatly want to lose weight. I am really frusterated. In general I have a pretty good idea what to do. I have tried the la wieght loss as mentioned before and that worked for a bit, then nothing, I need more out of this then 10 -15 pounds. Then I tried doing weight watchers on my own with a friend from work. I don't always have or make the time to weight portions and use the points finder. So that's not ideal for me either. Then I thought I would only eat things with labels, this in helping to eliminate the eating out, and that's working I have not eaten out in a few days, which for me is great!1 I have been eating tv dinners, lean cuisine, and they are about 200-250 calories each. But I am still hungry about 2 hours later. That's the only downfall I think they are not filling.

I am just unsure what diet plan to choose as there are many!!
........I'm just frusterated, it's been a long week at work with all my drama with work in all.......and it's only Wednesday!! I can't wait for the weekend!!
I'll check in later;)

luckylindy 01-14-2009 01:00 PM

Hi Bexx! It sounds like your eating in moderation, so that's the first step. You can't just give up everything cold turkey, so the progress that your making sounds good. As far as Macaroni Grill (mmmmmm........I live Macaroni Grill), try and eat something healthy and filling before you do the conference, your less likely to cheat or over indulge. OR make something Italian to satisfy your craving. Bertolli makes fat free, wheat pasta with a newmans low sodium, low fat sauce, that might help.

Your still down in weight so that's what matters. Just remember, everything in moderation

Good luck and take care!

luckylindy 01-14-2009 02:24 PM

Hey Kity:

In my previous post I had mentioned that I am guesstimating on my calories, I would hardly call it calorie counting, but what I did is stock up on. Bunch of different things that I like, for example:

Motts sugar free 60 calorie berry apple sauce
Publix brand low fat yogurt (anything 100 or less)
Fiber One bars at 140 calories (these are like candy bars, so good)
Polly o fat free string cheese at 70 calories
Jello 60 calorie pudding cups
Plains oatmeal with frozen berries and 1 sweet n low packet

I also buy a large rotisserie chicken each week, remove the skin and bones and package it into individual portions. Something else I love is Campbells Healthy Harvest Soup (100 calories or less and it has 2 portions to a can).

Anyway, I take most of that stuff and package it in quick portions. Then, I make a point to eat every 2.5 hours. I completely eliminated soda also and that plays a big part. So, my point in babbling (lol) is to just cut back and try to give yourself healthier options. I too have done diets like Weight watchers, nutrasystem and medifast and most of the time they do work but I ALWAYS put it back on

Just remember, keep your spirits up and your eye on the prize - you can do it!

Take care.

take a deep breath 01-14-2009 06:18 PM

Lindy - :woohoo: Congrats on the 6.5! You're my hero of the week! :queen: (There isn't a hero icon, so you will just have to be queen. It still comes with a crown!)

Kity - Turn off the phone, run a hot bubble bath, light candles and incense (no artificial light) and get yourself some down time. When you get out, curl up in bed or on the sofa in a warm fuzzy robe and put a on chick flick. This is guaranteed to make you stress free and get back on track!

TC - Great for getting back into the workouts!

MaddiesMom - Yummy! Recipes sound soooo good. I'll dig a few out and post also.

burgundy - Chalk it up, and move on. That's what always stops me, but I have a new outlook and it seems to be working.

Neesy - Food days...uughh! I know about that. Our department seems to create reasons to have one. Fortunately, more and more people are trying to watch their waistline also, when I get some good stuff I'll post so you can make something without guilt

I've been trying to keep track of my food for a couple of days on my blog. If I can keep consistent, I will post a link with my name for anyone interested. I'm hoping to add a recipe page also.

Today, so far has been good. I need to get more protein in and work on cutting more sodium out. I just so picky about meat and I'm not crazy about leftover meat. Some things are OK, like meatloaf, meaty pasta sauce or chili. But chicken breast, I'm just way funny about it. I'll have to incorporate it into stir-fry or whatever else I think of. I guess I should buy it first though, huh? Right now the only meat I have in me fridge/freezer is a pack of frozen bacon. Not a great thing for losing weight. I have all kinds of frozen veggies, wheat pastas, LF cheese, yogurt, etc. just no protein.

I could make that my goal for Sunday - get a plan together to include more protein and no matter what happens this weekend, cook 2 protein packed meals to store/eat for the week along with my usual. I'll let you know how it goes.

Burgundy - thanks for the kudos, you made me smile. :)

I like your plan, I like the fact that you are setting a plan - thats what its all about, plans and goals. Well, I'm going to go walking now - see ya later.

Lindy: Congrats on the 6.5 pounds. I know that it's great to find a lower number on the scale.

I don't know what happened, because this always happens soon after I begin a diet. Overnight I just got a horrible cold. It started last night with a sore throat and this morning I was horribly congested. Definitely no working out for me today (or the next few days). I forced myself to make my healthy meals, but when it came time for dinner, I broke down and had Chinese food. I picked something with a clear sauce, (figured less ingredients), and they don't use MSG. Lots of veggies. I only ate about 600 calories for my two previous meals, so I don't feel horribly guilty for having it. That's a first. Usually I feel guilty and kick myself afterwards. But yesterday, I only had 900 calories all day (that's 3 meals and a snack), so again, I don't feel so bad.

I'll just have to work harder for the remainder of the week (after my cold is gone). I hate being sick, and it's hard being home with a 13 month old and having no energy.

Maddiesmom- I hope you get well soon.

I wanted to share with you guys my dinner tonight. I went to Publix (our local grocery store) and they had imitation crab meat in the butchers block. So - I got some field greens salad, with peppers, grape tomatoes, imitation crab meat and some balsamic vinagrette - it was SO GOOD and very filling.

Hey everyone! Well.. I lost the 3lbs that I was complaining about a few days ago. So, now my ticker is accurate again. YAY! I've been on track again. I started back to work on yesterday. It helps so much for me. I'm more active at work.. running around like crazy for 12-13hrs, instead of sitting on the couch for 12-13hrs during my vacation! Anway, hope everyone is doing well!

Lindy-Congrats!!! That is so great!!! I really like your idea about getting the rotisserrie chicken and dividing it up. I am definitely going to do that. Because I don't feel like cooking chicken every day when I get off work.. that is a much better option.

luckylindy 01-15-2009 08:46 AM

Hey Neesy! Yay for you, you took those 3 pounds off fast! Kudos!

The next couple of days is going to be a challenge for me. I offered to bring my Grandma to Bingo tonight and since there is nothing to do, I always pig out there. So tonight my plan is to bring 2 turkey burgers and some mushrooms with me and a chocolate fiber one bar just in case I have a sweet tooth, let's hope that works. Now tomorrow, I am only working half a day and am crazy busy once I leave. Then at night I am going out with my girlfriends for my B-day and I know I'm going to drink (we're going to a martini bar). THEN, on Saturday we have a wedding and Sunday a football party. Fingers crossed I can get through all this. H) I'm feeling very confident with my weigh in, so here's to success! Ill have to keep you guys posted and let you know how things go.

Talk to ya later!

Hey Just checking in.......weighed in this morning and I am down 1 more pound. Shortly after starting this forum I had gained one pound, but now I am able to change the number under my name! For the better too!! Since I have really lost 1 pound!! :carrot:

Lindy, Thanks so much for the pointers. I appreciate it. anything I get I am trying....I am going shopping tomorrow and looking forward to getting some of the items you mentioned for snacks. I don't think I will be able to find some of them. I have never heard of Publix. So I will just try to find something similar. I am definatley going to do the rotisseri chicken as I love chicken but never have the time to cook after work.

Take a deep breath, The relaxing tip sounds relaxing just thinking about it. I will definately give it a whirl, won't have time till the weekend though. :)
Looking forward to trying out your recipes!!

Maddiesmom, Hope you are feeling better. I recenlty just got over the flu and it's not fun at all. How are you possibly able to get 3 meals in and a snack with only 900 calories and be full?? I wish I could do that. I am very motivated off my one pound!! :)

Nessy, Congrats on those 3 pounds!!:carrot: I feel excited about my one pound!

KityCat 01-15-2009 12:12 PM

Lindy, Forgot to mention......
:bday2you:

luckylindy 01-15-2009 12:37 PM

Kity - awwww...thanks for the bday message. You should feel excited about the 1 pound, 1 pound, plus 1 pound, plus 1 pound, etc....etc....etc.... equals major weight loss! You'll get there. My weight definately motivated me to get through my weekend. Aside from {riday night, I feel good about not going off my diet. Its so funny how often I'm checking this website, especially our forum, I swear I'm addicted. I have the luxury of checking the website from my phone, so anytime I have downtime, I log on.

Anyway, I hope everyone is feeling good and having a great day.

Kity - I'm determined not to quit this time! As long as I keep seeing a downward slope in my weight loss, I need to keep going. Even if it's not as good as I would hope, it's better than nothing, and better than gaining and hating myself for it.

Lindy - happy birthday! and thanks for the support. It's going to be a rough night. I don't have the time to make anything for dinner, and the food at the conferences will be so readily available. I will have to make smart choices, like you said. My plan was to make dinner last night and save something for tonight to bring with me, but I ended up working late and having some multigrain cheerios (with fresh blueberries! Yum!) for dinner. so - no leftovers. darn it. And I didn't have time to grab anything for lunch so I'm nursing my nonfat starbucks latte trying to get that to fill me up so I don't pig out later...I feel like I'm doomed for today...

I haven't had time to weigh in the last couple of days, so I'm not sure how I'm doing right now. I use the wii fit balance board as my scale and by the time I finish the 30 Day Shred in the morning, I'm running late and don't have the time to wait for it to turn on. A poor excuse I know....but it's probably better that I don't weigh myself every day anyway....right?
