It's been a while since I've been here, so this will be long!

Vicki - Way to go on saying No! It does get easier and I have to remember that. Great idea with the mommy and me. I think everyone should have activity as part of their life no matter what age. And super congrats on your falling pants! :o

Tiff - That is awesome! I long for the day when I can say I lost 25 lbs! And I will...and all of you will be the first to know, LOL! (The dogs sniffing...HAHA!) Hey, can you take me back with you? Florida's weather is definately better than No, KY right now.

Kity - I do wish you good luck. Please don't give up! As you know, I already had an up/down with my weight and normally I would give up-but with everyone here, I just can't. Especially since I see that we all slip and all have our bad days/moments. I'm jumping back on the wagon and my hand is extended to grab yours and yank you back on! :goodvibes: Also, buy the ranch packets and mix it with FF sour cream for your ranch dip.

bchlover - 5 lbs is a motivater, no matter if it is water. And think of all the extra little steps you're getting in by going to the bathroom all the time! LOL!

burgundy - Yah! You're getting there, keep up the good work! 10 lbs will be here in no time.

lindy - if you can use a buddy for 1 day - take it. as long as you keep working out, no matter how it happens, it's a good thing. fingers crossed for you tomorrow!

Neesy - I can't wait to see new pics! It really gets my butt going when I see how others are shaping up. Congrats!

And, welcome to anyone new I missed.

So, I has been a while since I've been on here. Snow has taken over...haha! I haven't weighed myself all week, cause I haven't been counting calories. I have been doing good food-wise (I have slipped a couple times) and with water. So this morning, I wanted to prepare myself for tomorrow and jumped on the scale. It is down, so that is my motivator to do all I can today so that I have a good number tomorrow. I slept late today, so nice to get a good night's sleep!

I was thinking about shoveling my mom's driveway so I can park when I go over there. I've just been pulling to the side of the road with my blinkers on and I almost got stuck yesterday. And it's supposed to snow and rain and all that crap again Sunday night. So I guess I better, otherwise it will be worse after that. I'm going to plan my meals this week and hit the grocery. I honestly don't need to much. I have my lean lunch meats and still have my ministrone/dumpling thing to eat. (Lindy, did you get to make that? Did you like it?)

Does anyone have any super bowl plans food-wise? I'm not sure where I'm going yet, but I'm sure there won't anything LF or healthy. So I'm wondering if I should make a pot of turkey chili for wherever I go. I can top it with FF sour cream, green onions and LF cheese. Sounds yummy! At least the super bowl in on Sunday AFTER weigh in and I will have a week to fix anything I may do wrong...LOL!

Well, good luck to all today and hope we all have a minus on our tickers tomorrow!

take a deep breath 01-31-2009 11:44 AM

Hhmmm, I just looked at the weather and it will be kinda cloudy and 10 degrees warmer tomorrow. Today is going to be sunny with a wind chill of 3 10 degrees. I think I'll wait till tomorrow to shovel. It just going to be too cold today. So now I have to do something else for a workout today. Oh well..haha!

burgundyrayne 01-31-2009 11:15 PM

Well, i went out to eat yesterday and today, but made good food choices and only ate half of what was on the plates and brought the other half home. I did good today but just ate a peice of beef jerky that was really salty and now i am worried about being bloated in the morning. We'll see what the scale says. I am on dial up right now so will check back tomorrow when I have a faster internet connection.

Good luck tomorrow.

take a deep breath 02-01-2009 08:15 AM

I couldn't wait to get on the scale this morning since yesterday when I weighed I was down and I didn't eat a ton of food yesterday....I am down 4 lbs this week to 223! Yipee! I'm back in the game.

Later today, I will be shoveling snow (if it doesn't kill me :p:) then going somewhere for the superbowl. I'm sure my favorite bar is doing something, but I've been there the past 2 nights and really don't want to be there a 3rd in a row. I also smoke too much when I'm there (yes, for those who don't know-I do that evil thing-but working on it too!). So hopefully my friends will have something going. If not, I'll just make turkey chili for myself!

Well, I'm going to grab some coffee and check the news. I'll check in later to see what everybody else does. GOOD LUCK!!! :crossed:

luckylindy 02-01-2009 11:17 AM

Kudos BURGUNDY!:carrot:

4 lbs. in a week is amazing! I dont think I have done that yet (nor will I be able to), your first month usually comes off fast and after that, you have to work your butt off to accomplish the same. :bravo:

Takeadeepbreath - I'm sure you will burn a TON of calories shoveling snow. We are having a Superbowl party at my house, YES, I have every intention of cheating, I'm just going to try to do it in moderation. As of right now, this is what is on the menu:

Homemade chili (not turkey - the fattening kind), yes I will be having a big bowl of this, it is only made 1 or 2 times a year.

Wings - we bought like a 100, so yes I will be having this and yes, I will be having it with ranch dressing...mmmmmm.

Cold cut sandwiches - I definately think I will pass on this. I'm not a big sandwich person and if I do eat a sandwich, its usually turkey anyway.

Last - nachos, oh and that is my downfall! I LOVE, L-O-V-E NACHOS. Mmmmmmmm.:hun:

NOW, I'm debating, but I think I will pass on my soda intake, since thats empty calories and since I'm consuming about two days worth of calories in one sitting. I made a big pitcher of crystal light lemonade to help me accomplish this. We will see.

I know all this is bad, but its once a year. I'll buckle down the rest of the week and hope that this pays off. I am also going to try and jump on my Wii Fit for about 30 minutes and burn off a few calories.

Well, I hope everyone elses weigh in goes well today. Sorry to babble about my food, but sometimes I think its my favorite thing to talk about - lol.

Ill try to check in later.

Take care!

Neesy_20 02-01-2009 12:56 PM

Happy Superbowl Everyone! I hope everyone does well today. I'm feeling especially hungry, however I've had a lot of great success lately and don't want to overdo it. I always ask myself, would I rather have that cheeseburger or be thin? Guess what wins out.... Well, sometimes the burger. haha But really, I'm very proud of everyone!

I went to my favorite wing place last night.. and all I got was celery and diet coke! That is a big accomplishment for me. Whew. It was hard.

Lindy-your scale is moving down quick!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations! You are doing sooooooooooo great. You'll be in onederland soon! YAY!

Takeadeepbreath- 4lbs!! That is a big weight loss for one week! Good job!!

Burgundyrayne-Great will power! It's hard making the right choices when going out to eat. Keep it up!

Tiff-Can't wait to hear from you! How you likin the cold!!! =)

burgundyrayne 02-01-2009 01:51 PM

MaddiesMom-Good for you for going to the doctor. It has been a couple of years for me too, I know I should go.

Bch-That is a lot of water. I drink maybe 60 oz a day. Good job.

Tiff-That is funny about your dogs. Stay motivated on your trip and I hope you enjoy this cold with the rest of us. I am in Michigan, I cant stand snow. I dont know why people like it. I am gonna get out and shovel today for some exercise.

Lindy-that is amazing that you lost 10 lbs in a month, way to go. I am still shooting for my first 10, I am almost there. And your ticker says you have lost 12 lbs, wow!!!

Takeadeepbreath-Shoveling is a good workout,I try to do it some, my husband usually beats me to it. And congrats on losing 4 lbs, that is awesome. I wish I would lose that much all at once.

Neesy-23lbs, I am so jealous. I cant wait to get to there. Congrats

Ok so as for me, I got on the scale this morning and was at 228.8 still which is fine by me. I am not into football, so have no superbowl plans, so I dont have to worry about eating anything bad. I hope to lose the other 3 lbs this week to get to 10.

Have a great day everyone.

burgundyrayne 02-01-2009 01:55 PM

Well my ticker says 8 lbs, but since it was 228.8, I am counting it as 7.

take a deep breath 02-01-2009 05:50 PM

Well, I shoveled snow, but a lot of it is melting anyway. It kicked my butt, wow! I've done well today, I had egg beaters breakfast and when I got home from grocery, I had 2 microwavable White Castle burgers (was starved!) then I put on my spicey sausage/turkey chili topped with FF sour cream and LF cheese...mmmmm. I created this recipe from 3 or 4 I found online. The one that sparked it was a thing I saw on tv for chef on a shoestring. So that is cooking now. Looks like I will be all alone for the superbowl..boo hoo! LOL! That's OK, I could use a night off anyway.

Looks like everyone is doing good today so far. Hope to see more numbers!

take a deep breath 02-01-2009 08:20 PM

Wow, it's half time and I can't eat another bite. The chili was EXCELLENT! It's the first time I've made chili without beans or tomatoes, interesting, but good (I'll post my recipe below. I didn't figure the calories, but I think the only bad thing is the sausage and the oil which you can probably cut down by half). I also had 5 southwest chicken taquitos with FF sour cream and salsa. I am DONE...whew!

I figured since I already weighed in and I didn't eat much earlier, I could indulge a little bit. So time to pack it up for lunch the next few days and be good again. :D

Tiff - If you read this while you are in Ohio and you like salsa....see if you can find a Remke's food market. I know in Florida you probably have the 'authentic' salsa anywhere you go, but I have to recommend Remke's brand of Salsa. It's made from local farmers ingredients. I get the mild, it's sweet and tangy and a nice change from regular salsa-goes good on my new chili..HAHA!

My Superbowl Chili - hope you like it, it's just enough heat in the back of your throat. You can also use it like nacho meat and spread over baked tortilla scoops then add the toppings.

• 1 pound lean ground turkey (I used 97% FF)
• 1 pound spicy pork sausage (I used Bob Evans)
• 1/8 C vegetable oil (can probably use less
• 2 Tbs chili powder (I used Kroger Priv. Selection)
• 1/2-1 Tbs fresh ground black pepper
• 1 Tbs sugar
• 1 Tbs ground cumin
• 1 tsp oregano
• 3/8 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1 C red and green peppers chopped
• 1/2 C sweet onion chopped
• 1/4 C jalapeno peppers, seeded & minced (or half of a small can)
• 1 tsp minced garlic
• 1/4 C flour (I actually did not measure this, I used a large rounded soup spoon, too make it like a rue)
• 3 C chicken stock

Mix chili powder, pepper, sugar, cumin, oregano and nutmeg.

Heat 1/4 C oil in pot, add turkey, sausage, 1/2 of spice mix.
Cook until meat is browned, stirring as necessary.
Remove meat with slotted spoon, getting little pieces also and set aside.
Add remaining oil to same oil and heat up. Add remaining spice mix stirring constantly until spices roast-about 20 seconds.
Add onions, and cook, stirring constantly and scraping the pan bottom well, for 10 to 15 seconds. Stir in bell peppers and jalapeno peppers.
Cook for 8 minutes, stirring often and constantly scraping pan.
Add garlic and cook for about 20 seconds.
Add flour, stirring until blended and scraping pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add 3/4 C chicken stock, scraping pan till little bits are dissolved then add remaining stock and cooked sausage/turkey mixture. (It will be soupy, but it will cook down.)
Continue to cook on med-high for 50 minutes, stirring and scraping often so chili does not burn.
Skim off any oil from the surface and serve with FF sour cream, LF jack cheese and chopped green onion. (I also sprinkled on diced fresh tomatoes)

PiXiEgAL 02-01-2009 08:37 PM

hi guys can i join here?! i do need some buddies as well and i think this is a great start ^-^ anyway....this isnt official yet but as of today...i lost 2 lbs since last monday! I'll be weighing myself again tomorrow for the official one. Yesterday I was so devasted when I noticed i only lost 0.5 and i also had my "monthly visit" yesterday so i blamed it LOL but i was so happy it wasnt true ahahha xD

But today was great! I went to TJMaxx to check out stuff with my mom. And you know what?! Since I don't like the plus sizes clothes there...**think it looks too oldie for my age...just 24 years old** and I kinda was curious if i can fit in a large now in the misses section. I saw this wonderful pinstripe blouse....that i was thinking I should get for my cosplay in Anime Expo this July. As I was buttoning it up, my face was at awe cos it was a perfect fit! WAAHHH and I went out to try some more tops in a large and they fit! OMG....and before I was shopping around 2Xs....hehehehe =D Now I am more motivated to continue!

How are you guys by the way?! ^^ Oh and my name is Chloe! ^^

MaddiesMom 02-01-2009 10:00 PM

Welcome PixieGal...glad to have you.

Congrats everyone on their weight losses!! I am sure proud of all of us!!

My "monthly visitor" was here this week, so I was sure that I was going to stay the same or gain. Well, lucky enough, I lost 3 pounds this week! I was shocked. I've been super careful of what I ate, and I made sure to eat more calories (I even saved room for some pizza on Friday night). I haven't had it in so long, and I figured if I deprive myself, I am more likely to falter and fall off the wagon. I am just thrilled that I am down 17 pounds since 1/3.

Today I even fit into a size smaller in jeans and had to go to the store to buy a smaller belt. I am loving this! Thank you ladies for helping to keep me motivated. January was my month to work on my eating, this month, I am working on eating and working out. I took my dauther to the mommy and me class on Friday and Saturday and got quite a work out myself. Keeping up with a 14 month old takes a lot out of you. I am determined to get up early and have some time to myself to work out before Madeline wakes up.

Of course, I did splurge quite a bit today at the Superbowl party at my neighbor's house. Normally I wouldn't be worried becuaes they aren't the best cooks, but this time it was really good (to my devestation!) That means I will be working my butt off and eating SUPER strict for the rest of the week. I can do this!

TiffTiff1985 02-01-2009 10:19 PM

Well, everyone seems like they are doing amazing weight-wise! Congrats Lindy on reaching your goal. Neesy, it seems like everytime I look at you ticker, you have lost more weight. Oh, and when I passed through Cinncinati last night, I thought of you!

So far, I think I have done pretty well foodwise. Minus the traveling days. Something about riding in a car makes me super munchy. I haven't weighed, but I don't feel like I have gained any. My size 26 jeans just keep falling off when I walk, kinda annoying, but at the same time makes me happy.

I had breakfast this morning, and limited myself to two biscuits and gravy, no seconds and no fried potatos. Had no lunch because of such a late breakfast, but dinner we had some instant mashed potatoes (small serving), some barbq ribs boiled w bbq sauce in a crock pot, and some baked beans. One plate, no seconds. So I am really not eating healthy food, but I am trying to limit my portions to much less than I used to eat. After dinner tonight, me and my fiance and the two dogs went for a walk. That was a bad idea. The snow here is about 16 inches deep in some places and my dog, being a florida dog, has never experienced snow. At first last night, he didn't understand where he could go potty. Either there was pavement, or this crazy white cold stuff. I guess once he couldn't hold it anymore he figured out that he could pee in the snow. So, on our walk tonight, there was ice on the sidewalks, some people not shoveling their sidewalks, and then having to cut across a field with at least 16 inches of snow with a tiny short dog. eeek. I guess on the bright side, I got a HECK of a workout. By the end, I was soaked from falling down multiple times. Yuck. I am not a fan of snow tonight. Lets hope that we don't get anymore while I am here.

Well, I am exhausted and we are going to Amish country early tomorrow, so I have to go to BED!!! I hope everyone did good at the superbowl parties.

mygritsconfessions 02-02-2009 11:06 AM

Hello Everyone!

Back from Georgia and the convention. I did well on the way up and Saturday, but that night I didn't do well at all or yesterday. I think the enormous driving and some stress made my appetite go beserk. When we left the convention and were driving home, we received a phone call from my husbands bestfriends wife stating he had passed away in his sleep while at the convention hotel (they were staying another night). We quickly turned around on the highway and headed back up to Atlanta (Convention location). Needless to say it was a long upsetting night. We drove back home yesterday. So my eating wasn't good. Jim, my husbands friend, was 65 years young, and didn't live a healthy lifestyle. It was a blessing he passed in his sleep, however he didn't have any heart problems, but died of cardiac arrest. I feel Jim has taught us a valuable lesson on doing all we can to take care of our bodies and health.

So, I am back and getting my eating on track. I was on a great routine last week before I left for the convention and was feeling so much healthier too. Eating junk the last two days, and not exercising really made me sluggish. :(

I say CONGRATULATIONS to all of you doing so well! :cheer3: Wow, 17 lbs down Maddiesmom, that is fantastic! :cheer2: TiffTiff1985 you too are doing great while traveling, as I know that can be hard. Of course 16 inches of snow can be a great work out trying to walk in! It's like a stair stepper ;-0 LOL :running:

Welcome Pixiegal! :welcome:

I'm off to eat some Cream of Wheat -have a productive, healthy day.

Sandy

WOW!!!! Congrats to all who have lost......which is everyone, but ME!!

I have maintained that's better than nothing, right!?!? I hope. I want this to work so much. It probablly does not help that I went out to the bar on Tuesday and Thursday with my husband to try and relax, had a few too many drinks (calorie wise!) I had a couple shots as well. So maintaing with no gain is great with the week I have had.
I started something new today. A co worker had given me some info on loose up to 21 pounds in 7 days. It's supposed to boost your metabolism, which I think will help me especially with my birthday goal. I am hoping to stick to this as there are no big gatherings coming up, I have a baby shower Saturday, which I will probablly eat before hand to make sure I don't give up. And I am working more this week...UGH!! But it's perfect to try this, I figure it can't hurt!!

I did fairly well with the superbowl......I had like 5 chicken wings, kept to the diet coke, and several chips with salsa. Few pieces of pizza. Not all that bad so I thought.

I printed the recipe for the no bean chilli, I hate baked beans, so it sounds really nummy to me. I actually have been looking for a no bean chilli recipe for some time. Everyone I have asked " Can you make chilli with no beans" Always tells me " It's not chilli with no beans!!" LOL

***I am having a hard time finding this thread. I went through introductions, then the first 5 pages and could not find us. Is there a better way to find this thread??

KityCat 02-02-2009 12:24 PM

I think I figured out how to fing you faster!! YAY. I subscribed to thread, I am hoping this is what I am supposed to do this will work soo much better

MaddiesMom 02-02-2009 12:27 PM

Kity,
Good job on maintaining...like you said, it's better than gaining.

As far as finding this thread easier...I have added it to "My Favorites" on my computer so it opens right away. go to your toolbar and select "Favorites" and then select "Add to Favorites." Then, when you go online next time, it will be bookmarked for you.

KityCat 02-02-2009 01:16 PM

well I have started the day off great!!!
I had my one pc of wheat toast with butter (healthy kind) and 1/2 c cottage cheese w 1 c skim milk

for lunch I had straight lean lunch meat, turkey and water. I was able to have fruit with it but it was hard enough just getting the meat in. It really affects me throughout the whole day if I eat breakfast. It seems like if I skip breakfast like I always have for years I am more hungry throughout day, so I have been eating more breakfast. I'll check in later...........keep up the good work!!

Hey Maddiesmom - AWESOME job on your 17 pounds. Just think - your only 3 pounds away from 20! How exciting!:bravo:

Kity - maintaing is half the battle, so just think, your halfway there. I try not to be opinionated about anyones diet, because everyone is different and reacts differently but I'm not so sure about your 21 pds. in 7 days. I only say this because its concerning. To lose weight that fast (although is exciting), it is really not healthy and you take a BIG chance in binge eating once your diet is over and then gaining twice the weight back. To each is own, and your my weight loss buddy no matter what, but I just think maybe sticking with regular calorie counting really will get you to where you wanna be. I mean look at Tiff and Neesy, they both reached their goals within a month.

Mygrits - sorry to hear about your unfortunate loss. Im impressed that you were able to get right back on track considering the circumstances. If something really sad or upseting happens in my life, I handle it poorly and binge eat.

Tiff - I am SO jealous. I wish I was in the snow. I know everyone from the North is probably laughing at me right now, but nonetheless, its nice when you dont live in it. I'm interested to see if you lose any weight while your there. I mean, taking walks like that can really burn some calories.

Pixie - WELCOME!!! I know how exciting it is to be able to fit into small clothes. Several years ago I got down to a size 8 and I was ecstatic. I wanted to wear everything in the store because frankly, things just look better. CONGRATS!!!

Well, exactly what I thought would happen - did happen. I over ate for Superbowl but have no remorse. I have buckled down for the rest of the week and hopefully will reap some sort of reward on Sunday, even if it is only a pound. I'd take it.

mygritsconfessions 02-02-2009 10:14 PM

Hey Luckylindy, thank you so much  for acknowledging my writings on here and the loss of our dear friend. It was very hard, and still is as my husband was helping with the arrangements all day today.

I guess I did blow it tonight. I did great all day and then tonight I suppose the stress of the weekend caught up again and I pigged out. I hopefully will be able to get it together tomorrow and hold on throughout the day!!

Your doing great though at 208!!! I need to get busy and catchup!

Thanks again for your kind words. :)

@luckylindy - - - thank you soooo much! yeah it was actually fun and its such a great feeling! when i was trying on the blouses, i was starting to cry when they were starting to button successfully without praying that they won't get knocked out!

Im so glad everyone is doing a great job! Anyway today was a great day. I went to Barnes and Noble to get some books and ended up buying 4 I think. I've been reading "The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl" for weeks now whenever I hang out in the bookstore and decided to finally get it. I also got the Calorieking nifty handy book hahaha cos my sister lost her free copy >_> ...and I also got 500 Low Sodium Recipes because I always watch my sodium intake and need to find recipes that actually have low sodium...**blame my blood pressure T-T** and the last one is The Portion Plan which is amazingly awesome and learned so much from it!

Have you ever guys felt a little bit embarassed when you are in a group and all except one is thin? Its like an opposite ne? Hahaha! But I felt a bit like it...I settled myself in one of the 4 lounge chairs in the magazines section only to find out I share that spot with 2 horizontally challenged ladies and an old but fit man. I suddenly wondered if the guy was like "What the heck?! They are all fat!" ....and when that hit me I was hiding under the book I was reading. ^^;;; I'm sorry I guess I'm just a weirdo.

MaddiesMom 02-02-2009 11:24 PM

Sandy, so sorry for your loss. The stress of it all must be very hard. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself for "pigging out" tonight. Just take one day at a time. My thoughts are with you and your husband through this difficult time.

Lindy: Don't be jealous of snow...I've lived in Chicago all of my life, and trust me, it gets old really fast. Maybe it will be more fun next year when Maddie can go out and play, but it's really sad saying the words "boy, it's too cold to snow!" I think you have to live in Illinois to understand! :)

luckylindy 02-03-2009 08:39 AM

Pixie - you are so funny. Your story absolutely made my day (and made me laugh). I have been in that scenario one too many times. When I diet, I ALWAYS read labels and I always think that people in the grocery store are looking at me thinking to themselves "why the heck is this fat girl reading labels, its doing her no good". I know, I know, they probably are not thinking that, its just my mind getting the best of me - lol.

Maddiesmom - I know, to live in snow sucks. I lived in Connecticut most my life and I hated it. Now that I'm in Florida, I can appreciate it. My daughter, Gabriella has been begging me to go up north to see snow (she is a Florida baby). This year we already have our vacations planned but next year we might do Colorado, we'll see.

I hope everyone does well today. Ill touch base later.

burgundyrayne 02-03-2009 10:39 AM

Pixie-Welcome, you will love it here, we all do.

Maddiesmom-That is amazing, 17 lbs. I need to buckle down and start exercising more.

Tiff-Congrats on your pants falling off, it sounds funny saying that, but here, we all know its a good thing.

Mygrits-I am so sorry to hear about your friend. If you need to talk, we are all here for you. I wouldnt worry too much about the pigging out. This is a stressful time and you will get back to eating right.

Kity-Good job maintaining. That is so much better than a gain. Keep going, you will get there

I weighed again this morning, just cant stay away from the scale, and it was 228.2. Thats down .6 lbs, not much, but I will take it. So today, I plan on getting off my butt and start exercising again. The only time I have really been exercising is when I watch my cousins 2 little boys. They have an ab lounger and weight machine, so I use that when I am there. Also, I make sure to stay up and run around the basement with the boys instead of just watching them play. Hopefully, I can get down to 226 by this Sunday. Good luck with staying on plan everyone. My husband is making chili(regular chili) for dinner tonight. I am going to have it, but just not as much as I usually would. We can always freeze leftovers. Have a great day everyone, I am sure I will check in later.

MaddiesMom 02-03-2009 11:07 AM

I have a question ladies. I had a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich on Saturday (I allowed for the calories, so I don't feel bad), but I noticed that afterwards, my stomach was not having it. I haven't eaten fried food in a few weeks, so I am guess that it's the fried part that made me feel gross. Do any of you have this same issue? I've been fine since then (mostly because I haven't eaten anything else fried), but wanted to see if I wasn't the only one.

KityCat 02-03-2009 12:16 PM

:D Welcome Pixie!! (sorry I missed that before)

Lindy- I am just trying the 21 in 7 just to try and boost my metabolism as I intake too many carbs and soda which I know is not good. I really do not expect to loose 21 pounds in 7 days!! I wish, but also wish it would stay off, then everyone would do it, right!! LOL :)

Thanks for the help with finding the thread I just subscribed and then click on User CP and there it is and that seems to be workign out good, ALOT better than searching the way I was. I wish I knew to subscribe a while ago, I only post and read in this thread. I tried a calorie counting one to get some tips and pointer thinking that would help as that is somewhat new to me but no one is posting. So this is the one for me!! You are stuck w/ me!! LOL :)

I am overly tired from working a double shirft and doing it again today and tomor..UGH!! But it's a happy weird feeling I am just going with it.....I am also drinking reg. mt. dew, I don't want to feel guilty either, I NO soda yesterday and truely stuck to my plan (21 in 7, basically no suga, or carbs) and I have (had) the worst headache. I think weening off the soda is better. (no diet at work or i'd have that instead reg. is so syrupy)

Tiff- I hope you are enjoying your vac. and relaxing. That sounds great!! Relaxing!!:)

Sandy- Sorry to hear about your friend, I agree with Maddies mom just take one day at a time, and do the best you can for that day.

Overall maintaing is good, but I am ready to move my ticker. I really want this bad!! And I do not think I will make my bday goal :( I will keep trying though I really want this. It's hard with barely no sleep in the week though too, I think that may affect my results.

Keep up the work Ladies!!

I will try to get on here again with my schedule not sure I will try:)

luckylindy 02-03-2009 06:03 PM

Maddiesmom- I know exactly what your going through with the grease thing. I think once your body starts to "dislike" all the junk food, it will also "reject it" when it consumes something it is not used to. I have been eating healthy (for the most part) for a month now, then I REALLy over indulged on Superbowl Sunday and my body has not adjusted yet! My stomach is bloated and that is the minimal side effect that I have had (if you know what I mean), sorry - TMI, lol.

Anyway, drink lots of water, thats what I did and it seems to have eased up.

I hope all is well.

MaddiesMom 02-03-2009 08:38 PM

Thanks Lindy.

Yep, I splurged on SuperBowl as well. I know I overate, and I think I stretched my stomach out, because the past few days I have been STARVING, even though I'm eating the same amount I did prior to Superbowl. Luckily, I didn't gain any weight (I checked that yesterday and today). I would have been really upset with myself had I gained from one evening of splurging. As long as I'm back on track. Water is my new best friend!

Now I don't even want to eat the fried/greasy food. No desire after the harsh side effects of the past two days.

mygritsconfessions 02-03-2009 09:02 PM

Pixiegal - LOL, Oh my you made my night. That is hiliarious as I know exactly what you mean - I've done it many times and thought the same thing. LOL :D

MaddiesMom - Thank you so much, I do appreciate your thoughts. Each day is getting better. It was just a shock as we had spent the whole day with him and an hour after we left, he was gone - forever.

Burgundyrayne - Thank you so much. Pigging out was NOT the answer, but at the time it felt good ;-). I am back on track and watching Biggest Loser to refocus!

Kitycat - Thank you too. I do appreciate your kind words. :)

All of you are doing so awesome and should really be so proud of yourselves and your accomplishments. :carrot:

Ok, now on to what I need to do - GET ON TRACK. I am working out tomorrow, as my Pilates Equipment arrived today!! YEAH! Hopefully I won't break the machine....LOL, but I am trying it tomorrow and we will see what happens. :woops:

Have a good night all, and thanks again.

Sandy

Hey all, just a quick check in...It is snowing here right now!

We went to amish country today and that was amazing. I haven't gotten much exercise in since that first night. Hope I have't been eating too much. Tomorrow I think it is supposed to be -4 for a high. Can we say EEEK?!?

It is dark in here and I am trying to type by touch but I just wanted to check in and let you all know I am reading still. Just not too much time to post my normal lengthy posts. Good night and lets hope I dont freeze!!!

PiXiEgAL 02-04-2009 01:09 AM

@luckylindy - - - omg i am the same too LOL! i always read the nutritional labels...i guess it became a habit for me cos I always check out the sodium first **hypertension** but i never really thought people might find me weird with it ...except my sister and mom...when we go grocery shopping...they'd always joke around that i am my dad's daughter...cos after my dad had a bypass surgery 2 years ago, he started to meticulously read the label and takes a lot of time! so now they tease me about it. I dont care... i only want the best for my body and health >D

@mygritsconfession - - - ahahaha glad to have made your night xD well i think everyone has come to that scenario in our lives ^^;

@maddiesmom - - - aawww at least youre back on track! ^^ dont worry about that superbowl splurge~ i also had that experience months ago when i ate fast food again after a month of none of those...and its wendy's too xD i think cos the stomach got used to the kind of food it gets prior to it...^^; i dont know

Anyway....at this moment...I AM SOOO EXHAUSTED! I am so happy that I didn't procrastinate my workout today...cos this morning when I turned off my alarm clock...**and went back to bed** i told myself ill just do it when i get home...I AM GLAD I DIDN'T! After 20 minutes I got up completely and headed straight to our basement to do the treadmill. I know I should have eaten even a banana before my workout but my time was so limited....had to go to school an hour and a half after I got out of bed. But I am very happy I did my workout today! Woohoo!

But yeah I am so tired! Im a nurse's aid and I work on the dementia unit....and today they assigned me to a different team TT-TT and it was completely new cos I never handled the residents in that team and the sad thing is 90% of them are dependent and needs lifting and all. After their dinner (7 pm)...i finished at 10:30 just to put all my residents to bed. so tired so tired....im heading to bed soon **but night owl like me dont sleep until 3am...=x**

oh and a realization today....i don't like the taste of grape tomatoes when eaten by itself. I prefer it in a salad or with hummus. ^^;;; cos I got some of those with me for work and I noshed it on my way home...ended up tossing some out of the car's window ^^;;

You guys are doing a great job ne?! ^-^ keep up!

MyGrits - I also want to say I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine losing a close friend. The fact that you are coping with your friend's death the right way by grieving rather than eating it away, is absolutely wonderful. We are all very proud of you.

My eating has started to falter again due to the Superbowl 'splurge'. I'm paying attention to what I'm eating, but I'm not adding it up to see that instead of one 'booboo' a day, I'm having several. I caught up my food blog and wanted to smack myself! So today, it all goes on paper and I will record it on my blog when I get home. I weighed this morning and am back up 1 lb. I do feel bloated and I know it's the sodium, so if I watch and record what I'm eating, that should go away and hopefully I can maintain from last Sunday or even drop another lb.

I have to make an effort to get moving again. I can't tell you the last time I did any exercise. I know if I eat crappy that I will feel crappy the next day and that kills any desire to move.

We'll see how it goes. I just have to keep being active in this forum so I can stay focused. Again, thank you ladies for being here!

Oh yeah, welcome Pixie! Not sure if I've said hello yet or not.

mygritsconfessions 02-04-2009 10:25 AM

TiffTiff1985 - Good to see you on here, as I was wondering if you were still on vacation. Amish Country, huh, I have always wanted to visit there, as it does look fascinating. Almost like going back in time. I bet they don't Battle the Buldge there since they do most work the 'old' way - lots of calories being burned! ;-) :cofdate:

Pixiegal - Way to go getting up and doing your workout. It will make your whole day so much brighter! When I procrastinate and don't get out there, I just feel 'blah' all day long and disappointed in myself. :woops:

Take-a-deep-breath - Thank you, and each day is getting better. It really makes you think about your own life, and better health. He wasn't that old, and had actually asked his girlfriend the day before to marry him. I feel his downfall was not eating and living a healthy lifestyle. He wasn't overweight except by maybe 10-15 pounds, however he didn't eat healthy foods, or exercise. Make you think! :chin:

Hope everyone has a great day. I pigged out again last night, so I am just off track!!! Today I have started right again, and WILL stay on course. I have too!! :yikes:

Morning ladies!

Well, I hopped on the scale today and to my dismay, I gained 3 pds! Ugh! I really hope that this is me retaining water and that when I weigh myself on Sunday, I either lose something small or maintain my weigh in on Saturday (12 pds.), that would still keep me on track with my 10 pds a month since I exceeded my goal for January. Darn Superbowl! I know I splurged but I think I just filled myself up with SO MUCh salty food, that it is affecting me now. Nachos, buffalo wings - come on, I couldnt get much worst. Oh well, I did good yesterday and hopefully today, so...fingers crossed I bring this number down. If not, on Sunday I will update my ticker.

Neesy_20 02-04-2009 10:31 AM

Hey everyone! I just got home from a 12hr night shift... I'm exhausted! I've been really good on my diet this week. Staying busy does wonders! I haven't weighed myself yet.. I usually like to wait until right after I wake up.. it's when I'm the lightest. So.. hopefully I'll see another lb loss.

Will check in more later!

PiXiEgAL 02-04-2009 11:23 AM

@Kelly - - thanks for welcoming me! yeah it same goes to me....if i dont eat right....i tend to just sleep instead of workout xD

@Sandy -- thank you! ^^ i do feel so happy i did my workout instead of procrastinating~ ill feel sooooo bad today if i didnt

@Lindy - - aawww sweetie...maybe its just water retention ne? now you mentioned wings....i wonder when can i get some delicious buffalo wings .......in a month i guess LOL! anyway don't worry! there was a time i gained some pounds too...about 2-3 lbs i think after christmas and eventually lost it after a day or 2...don't worry! I will be rooting for you!

@Neesy - - omg 12 hour shift?! i don't think i can do that but i really wanna do a double soon to save more money for my trip to LA in the summer xD

- - - - - - - - - - -

And girls~ I'M OUT OF THE 180s! Woohoo! This morning I weighed myself ***eventhough i am trying to control my obsession with the scale T_T*** and i didnt have my glasses on ^^;;; very bad sight...LOL but anyway...i immediately got off the scale and saw it said 179 and i was like "nuh uh that's not true >_> i was 181.5 3 days ago..." so i ran to my room and wore my glasses and did it again. AND IT WAS TRUE! 179 POUNDS!! WOOHOO!!! I do think I will be able to achieve my mini goal >< i desperately wanna get the keyboards and play music soon!

burgundyrayne 02-04-2009 12:40 PM

Mygrits-let us know how you like your pilates equipment. I need to get something. I have to get motivated again to workout. It is my downfall, even though I am seeing the scale go down. I know exercise would make it go even smoother.

Tiff-Glad you are getting to enjoy this wonderful weather with us up north. I cant wait until next Tuesday, its supposed to be almost 50:carrot:

Pixie-Great job getting up and working out. I probably would have stayed in bed. I am a sleeper!!! Woohoo for being in the 170's. THat is awesome. You are doing so good.

Takeadeepbreath-You can get back to eating right. We all have lapses. I ate my husbands delicious chili last night but only had about a half a bowl, it was so good. Gotta make something healthy tonight.

Lindy-I wouldnt worry about the 3 lbs, you can get everything back on track and take it back off quickly.

Neesy-Glad you checked in, you probably get a lot of exercise working those 12 hour shifts.

I did get outside yesterday, it was so cold. But I have a car sitting out in the snow that I havent driven in months(have some issues with it all the time). So I decided to get out there and dig it out of the snow. That was a good workout. I came back in and was sweating. Probably gonna do some more today. Well, I just looked at the temp and its 6 degrees outside, may have to wait until tomorrow when it warms up a bit. I need to get out my DVD's and start making myself workout. Make me do it ladies, I need some motivation. The scale was very nice to me today, again. Yesterday, I was 228.2 and today, I was at 227.8. I know its not much but its a loss and I will take it. It so nice to see the scale moving consistently down now. I also talked to my sister last night and she has lost 10 lbs, so I have about 2 lbs to catch up to her, even though she weighs a lot less than I do. Ok, ladies, everyone have a wonderful day. Lets hope we can all stay on plan. I will check in later.

luckylindy 02-04-2009 01:36 PM

Hey Pixie and burgundy - thanks for the words of encouragement.

I cannot even imagine going outside in 6 degree weather Burgundy! I walk 2 miles every morning and today it was 45 out when I went and I was so cold I had tears going down my face - haha, I'm such a whimp. Anyway, I love chili Burgundy. We haad some at Superbowl and it was AMAZING. I make mine super hot. Anyway, I'm glad too see you are making so much prgress, it will be so exciting when you get past 10.

Pixie - I look forward to the day I get in the 170's. The last pictures I have of me skinny is at 170, roughly a size 10/12 and I looked amazing. I can only imagine what I will look like when I get to my goal of 130. Anyway, I don't want to steal your thunder. Congrats, thatsts and awesome accomplishment. Keep up the good work.

Neesy_20 02-04-2009 10:08 PM

My overtime shift at work got cancelled tonight. I feel like I need a break.. but I also wanted the money really bad. It's double time! How can you pass that up!!

Anway, Did anyone see the biggest loser last night? AH! I was so mad! At the beginning of the show, I was rooting for Dan (the 19yr old) and Carla (the biggest woman) and last week they sent Dan home and this week they sent Carla! And in both cases, it wasn't their fault. It was their teammate's fault.

I also watch the Diet Tribe. It's a more realistic weight loss show with a group of friends that have 90 days to lose 30lbs. I think that is a more realistic weight loss. That is what I have been shooting for.. 10lbs a month.

I'm starting to freak out though. This happens everytime. Every single year, I lose 20-25lbs and get around 217-220 and then stop dieting all together. I haven't been under 217 in 4 years. I've been close EVERY year. So.. here I am again.....Oh I don't want to quit!!!
