cONGRATS ON THE HOUSE lINDOR :)

LittleKiwi 01-09-2009 03:22 PM

Congrts on the house Lindor. It's no wonder that you're feeling sad to be moving on but just think of the possibilities for change that moving to a new place will bring. You'll be right mate, just take it one step at a time.

Yup Yup, love the hair Vonni :D

I had an awesome day yesterday. Was really good with my diet and had a good session at the gym with 30 minutes worth of weights and 60 minutes of cardio.

Now it's the weekend and that's where the real challenge begins. My goal is to stick to my normal eating habits - eat at around the same times that I normally would at work - and to stick to my points!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

:twirly:

PerthChick 01-09-2009 07:33 PM

Vonni I LOVE Peanut - and your hair looks awesome!

Lindor be safe on those roads matey. It's always sad leaving something so familiar and comfortable, but you are making a massive change in your life - and a really good one.

And of course I will wait for you. When you get to Darwin let's do some virtual walking together.

My goal for today is to hydrate myself. Even though I have averaged over 2L water/day for the last two weeks, the temperature has averaged over 35ºC a day - every day - and I don't feel like I have had enough water.

7senuf 01-11-2009 05:04 AM

Ani you love cats.... I have a dillema. Peanut is a fleabag. I bath him, i have a flea collar on him, i give him flea knockdown tablets and use flea powder. I still cant seem to keep the damn things off of him for more than 2 days. I don't have a problem with snoopys fur and he is a himalayan persion. Peanut is just a short haired mongrel breed lol.

PerthChick 01-11-2009 05:12 AM

If you can afford it get him some Revolution or Frontline - one of those hideously expensive things that you just dab on the back of his neck. I use it on my cats and it worms/fleas them, and it's really good. Really bloody expensive, but the only thing that really works.

LittleKiwi 01-11-2009 02:45 PM

Oh dear, poor fleabag kitty! I hope you can get him sorted soon Vonni.

I am very proud to say that I had a pretty good weekend. The weekend is usually when I fall apart but this weekend I did okay. Went over my points on Saturday due to the fact that I went out for Chinese dinner and drinks for my friends birthday but I did write down everything I ate during the weekend and I did pretty much stick to my normal meal times.

Also went to the gym on Saturday and for a short 20 minute walk Sunday meaning that my total cardio for the week was 270 minutes :D

I'm nervous but excited about weighing myself tonight.

Goals for today are to stick to my points and have a great workout at the gym tonight.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

:twirly:

PerthChick 01-11-2009 05:52 PM

Dropped 0.6kg this week and weighed in at 72.2kg :carrot:. Creeping ever closer…

I'm starting to feel really pumped about breaking through that 70kg barrier. Even though it's still a little way away, it feels like a massive achievement - and I'm starting to realise how close I am. But one foot in front of the other, and the next goal for me is to get below 72kg over the next week or two.

On my virtual walk around Australia I will pass through Norseman this week and head east across the desert. My next 'town' will be Balladonia - which is 915km from Perth. After that there's a lot of desert and very few towns :dizzy:.

Julia - great stuff about your weekend, and good luck with tonight's weigh-in :).

LittleKiwi 01-11-2009 06:23 PM

Congrats Ani - awesome result!

:cheer3::cheer2::cheer3::cheer2::cheer3::cheer2:

smylie 01-12-2009 12:47 AM

woohoo ani! :carrot:

fingers crossed julia

voni - capster i think it is called u can get from vet or supermarket makes fleas go away real fast then just keep treating with whateva u are doing and they go away for good - after capster though the fleas literally jump off anywhere so keep cat away a bit it is real cheap too

me - lost 300grams 99.7kg so i am acheiving the julia goal so far! (the 250grams a week = 1 kg a month = 12kg in a year goal) (of course)

7senuf 01-12-2009 01:21 AM

hanks guys. Will get something on payday. Car died last night. Need to get new starter motor grrrr. More money.

Went to Dr, have to have nuclear scan on thyroid. Found some nodules on last scan and one was 10mm. Bloods were soso. So still none the wiser grrr.

She has me booked in for next week and we are doing a mini mental health on me so I can get into some counselling and get medicare rebate woohoo. Just stress levels. Really dunno if it'll help. I need to drag Matt and Lukas along and have someone yell at them to wake up and smell the roses about LIFE. If I am tired i do NOT want sex (thats to Matt). And to Lukas it is... STOP being suc]h a gosh darned with sprinkles on top prat and if mum says no its NO for a valid readson, not just to be a *****.

U know, this weekend matt wanted s e x and i fell asleep in the middle of day was so tired. Then when i told him about my test results he sent me text saying, are yr feelings about me going to change? (like hello why?) I rang and said Y and he said well, if u get treatment etc... yr gonna be concentraing on yr health and not want s e x and you'll be tired all the time. Then when he came over, he asked me when we are going to have s e x again. I just looked at him with mouth agape and he said "What? it's a valid question" I just said to him that why plan it? Can't we let things just happen. Someone needs to upsmack him the side of the head and tell him its not all about HIM all the time.

Sry, just had to vent.

Now, as for diet.... HAH whats that???? No water at all for past 3 days. Chips and choc yesterday. Today just 2 eggs on toast.

I just seem to tired to bother preparing anything. Anyone ever have those times when its just in the to hard basket?

Hey guys im back ..

We had a fabulous holiday, the boat was lovely and river was fantastic and the fishing was fun.. the kids were really good too .. ;)

We would love to go on a house boat again but next time go further up river.. to start off. ..

We started at murry bridge pulled in the ponde for the first day or two which is an area which had some wild dogs and loads of wild life and not another soul to be seen.. FABULOUS.. stayed there a day and a half and went up to the town of mannum for a few supplies and a dinner out.. kids played in the park there .. had a great time..
then we went 3 hours up river to Lake claret... that was fabulous loads of pelicans which i fed my tiddly fish too and a dryed up lake.. that the birds were standing in the middle of.. it took us a fare while to get to the actual lake from the river and we forgot the camera but the birds were unreal and we were walking on what used to be the lakes water.. there were clams and fish skeletons everywhere..

You couldn't get close to the actual water becuase it was like quick sand around the edges.. but you could see the backs of the fish struggling in the very low water.. it was a birds paradise easy fish to catch.. not way for people to get near.. them.. it was really pretty...

we stayed at lake claret for 2 and a half day then made our way back.. the fishing was great ..

we swam alnmost everyday in the river.. the first day i took the little blow up boat out managed to tip it over and lost an oar before john even had a turn.. i was in trouble.. lol but the bloddy stupid oar sunk.. lol .. Cameron freaked out when the boat tipped so i couldnt rescue the oar as it swept passed my legs.. .. lol .. then at the lake i got back in the little boat with one oar and carrened it into the side of the house boat.. it popped and sunk.. lmao....... JOHN didnt get a turn at all .. LMAO>> OOPS ..

On our way back to murry bridge there was a skier really showing off.. and thought he was hot sh*t John waited for him to get right next to our boat in the middle of his jump John honked his horn and the skier mid jump turned to us lost one hand hold then the other and ended up crashing face first into the river.. it was hilarious.. wish i had a video camera .. couldnt one a prize on family home videos.. ( this skier is showing off lets show him something... HONK>>>> ahh what splash.. lol )

We pulled up in murry bridge the kids had a great play on there equipment looked at the bunyip and went for another swim (we swam almost everyday and me and JOhn relaxed in the spa on the top deck most evening once the kids went to bed.. ) we went out to tea last night too and got ourselves back to the marina very early this morning since today was supposed to be 40 degrees.. we went to hahndorf on the way home and took the kids through the misty hollow fairy cave there that is attached to a toy shop you pay $6.00 per family to go around it , its very cute.. and we got home at about midday ..

Best holiday .. :) .. i havent read all your post yet im just loggin on to check in and tell you what ive been up to .. will read them later.. got a milloin loads of washing to do .. and and and... lol ... cya guys later..

I didnt fall off the planet.. or even drown in the river.. lol .. hope you are all good.. :)

LittleKiwi 01-12-2009 02:28 PM

Great to see you back Amy, I was wondering where you were! Sounds like you had a great holiday :D

Wow, Vonnie I've never heard of a nuclear scan! I hope that everything gets better soon

Congrats on your 300g loss Kel! That's really good :cheer2:

Well I had a great day yesterday with food and gym etc. Went to weigh myself all excited and thanks to all my hard work last week I lost a whopping ...... 100g :(

REWD!!

At least a couple of my measurements have gone down so that's good. Will keep on keeping on and hope for a better result next week.

Goals for today are to stick to my points and to do 60 minutes cardio at the gym tonight.

:twirly:

PerthChick 01-12-2009 05:31 PM

Vonni tell Matt that what you need from him right now is SUPPORT for your health concerns and NOT constant demands for a tumble in the sack! I hope everything gets sorted soon and that you start to feel better .

Amy - welcome back!!! We missed you. It sounds like you had a fabulous holiday.

Hey Kel - 0.3kg is excellent. I'm really proud of you :carrot:.

Julia don't let the scales be the judge of a successful week. Look at all the healthy decisions you made - better food choices, exercise, more motivation - and your measurements reflect that. There could be any number of reasons for not losing 'much' - and the most likely culprit is water. Chin up! It's coming off, and that's the main thing.

All good with me. I'm really broke at the minute so the next two days, until pay day, of eating will be 'interesting' - but it's just another challenge. I am DETERMINED to get below 72kg by the end of this month.

Wonder how Lindor is going. She would be more than half way to Darwin by now, as long as she manages to avoid flooded roads and other such hazards.

7senuf 01-13-2009 01:50 AM

Ani, sent him an SMS this morning before i went to work that said just that, and..................... havent gotten a reply in any way shape or form.

7senuf 01-13-2009 01:51 AM

fcuk i hate men sometimes

LittleKiwi 01-13-2009 02:31 PM

Hope you've been able to talk to him by now Vonni and that things are ok. It must be hard.

It's a beautiful day here in Christchurch and such a shame to be stuck inside at work!

Food was 90% on track yesterday and I did 65 minutes cardio at the gym so that was good. Goals for today are to be 100% on track with food and to have a good session at the gym tonight. That part won't be difficult as I'm seeing my trainer for the first time in a couple of months!

:twirly:

PerthChick 01-13-2009 06:25 PM

And it's a beautiful day here in Perth…

Julia I hope you survive the personal trainer without too much pain and punishment :D

Vonni what's the latest? Heard back from Matt yet?

Amy how are you settling back in to home after your holiday?

One more day until payday! My challenge for today is to find healthy things to eat among the scraps in my fridge and pantry, and to drink enough water.

I'm going to wash/vacuum my car today and do some weeding. That's exciting - not! But I just keep reminding myself that every good decision I make - food/water/exercise - will get me that little bit closer to getting under 72kg.

smylie 01-14-2009 12:36 AM

i am so sick of s e x, in my case though it is not pressure from benji, he takes it when he can get it and doesnt push it and understands how exhausted i am
what i am sick of is people that are obsessed with it, like there is no relationship without it! kids at woolies talking about their s e x lives and other peoples
people on another forum i am on trying to spice up their marriages and have s e x in wierd places
or just want to talk s e x all the time

sorry to be a stick in the mud but there is way way more to life and s e x is a bonus
i have another friend who has made it ok with her hubby that she goes and has s e x with other guys!! wtf!
anyway that is my whinge about s e x
so vonni - i think ur man is being a tad demanding and he needs to give you better reason than just because to have s e x
so there

i hope lindor is going ok - i love a roadtrip but would be daunting to be going and not coming back

julia - your exercise commitment is awesome i have to get back into exercising i went for one walk this week on sunday arvo with benji, jem and the dogs and want to get out again at least once this week

ani - i absouloutely HATE realising that you were right all along about slow and steady weight loss i am aiming for a nother small loss this week and am pretty sad to think that by this time next year i will still most likely be over 80kg when this time LAST year i had gotten to 82kg, oh well my own fault

amy - i am so glad you had such an awesome holiday - you SO SO SO deserve it!! got any photos??

smylie 01-14-2009 07:13 AM

oh and vonni the capster cat flea stuff is like $3 or less for one at the vet and i think $5.95 from the supermarket for a multipack.
duchess has fleas too, and i think she gave them to the dogs which sucks coz they have been flea free for years! (which is odd coz they have been in ideal flea conditions)

failed today coz of a small homemade sausage roll, and some shortbread and 2x milo
oh well
could have been worse

7senuf 01-14-2009 07:23 AM

lol. laughing reading yr posts kel.

As for the S E X ..... he says he feels close to me. I don't. I feel closer and more loved with hugs. Not even kisses. I love to be hugged.

See I had a lot of probs when young and so to me, sex is just a way for a man to get what he wants and it has no feeling in it for me. don't get me wrong, when we do it's great, but i really don't care if i did or didnt and can quite happily live without it. But hugs..... they make me feel close listening to the others heart beating close to you.

like the cop campaign ---- hugs not drugs. well, hugs cuddles not puddles lol.

LittleKiwi 01-14-2009 02:47 PM

OMG Vonni, cuddles not puddles, that's the funniest thing I've heard all week!:lol::lol: S e x to me is such a distant memory that I fear I will have forgotten how to do it if I ever get an opportunity again!

When I had low self esteem I used to drink and take random men home with me but now that I don't drink so much and have better self esteem, I seem to have grown some standards. Who would've thunk it?!! :dizzy:

Kel it's SO awesome to hear that it's finally sunk in that quick fixes don't work and that slow and steady wins the race. And if you are still over 80kg by this time next year, so what? The alternative is to be at the same place you're at now and I know that you don't want that. Just think of how much healthier and happier you'll be. You can do it! :cheer2:

My trainer had to postpone our session so I took yesterday off as a rest day. Food wasn't great - after dinner when I should have stopped eating I ate 3 chocolates, 8 plain crackers and 1 big glass of wine so that was about 5 points over what I should have had.

Today is another day though and I have all of my meals planned out. Session with the trainer is now tonight so I'm looking forward to that.

:twirly:

PerthChick 01-14-2009 06:22 PM

I had some silly woman, who happens to be a friend, tell me she has developed feelings for me a couple of days ago :o. No wonder I ate like a panicked pig yesterday!

Don't worry girls - this Ice Queen has not melted a bit :D. I set her very straight and told her that I respect and value her as a friend - and there will never be anything else between us.

You know Vonni, if you find the right person, there's a chance they'll challenge what you associate with s ex. I speak from personal experience, and I am far from resolved on the issue… but I have changed the way I think about it. Not that I'm suggesting Matt isn't the right person - but I suspect that demands for it are just going to trigger stuff. Know what I mean?

Kel! ONLY 80kg? Isn't that a whole lot better than ONLY 99kg? Mate the thing is that by taking it slowly you get the chance to learn new habits, discover what you're doing wrong and fix it - and to make those changes permanent. Yes, you can pick up a shake, drop several kilos, learn nothing - and go right back to those eating patterns that make us fat in the first place. Or you can chip, chip, chip away .

Every kilo we lose and keep off is a MASSIVE achievement, and should never be called "only a kilo". Go and pick up two tubs of margarine, imagine what it takes to make that leave your body - and be really proud of EVERY 'tub of margarine' you lose!

Julia I had one of those days too. Let's just laugh it off and move on… today's a new opportunity to get it right!

Hey Gen - you snowed in? I heard it's going to be -22ºC in Washington tomorrow. Can't remember where you are but I'll take our 40ºC here in Perth over that any day of the week :o.

Lindor are you there yet?

smylie 01-14-2009 06:34 PM

stuff the margarine! i like to imagine a kilo of oranges - way more dramatic, or a kilo of sugar! hehehehe
AGAIN you are right ani, ONLY 80 will be heaps better than ONLY 99 i think i am annoyed at the numbers coz of where i have been

i need help to figure out what makes me eat
last night I KNEW i was not hungry but i just wanted to eat, i know that if i had left the room i would not have gone back but i couldnt so i had healthier snacks but still..... and then i removed myself from the room with a big bottle of water and drank it but WHY didnt i do that sooner
right now - not hungry but if i went into the kitchen i would eat something coz it and i were there

pacman12 01-14-2009 07:06 PM

Yes, we've got plenty of snow here in Pittsburgh at the moment. It's the coldest day for 2 years too - high of -8C and low of -13 C. Roads were awful tonight getting home! I love the snow though - watching it fall, and the streets are all white and silent, with cars just creeping along. It's very peaceful. I even love brushing my car off in the morning with my supercool extender brushy thing!

Must start going to the gym - just wasting my membership, and my legs are so sore just from not using them! Oh, plus I'm enormous. LOL>

**Just saw tomorrow's weather - HIGH of -12C and low of -20C!!

7senuf 01-15-2009 04:44 AM

lucky you Gen.... I've never seen snow. we went on lots of family camping trips and motel holidays when i was little but always to the beach or bush. Loved them heaps and maybe thinking about starting getting some camping gear together to start my kids on a once a year trip.

LittleKiwi 01-15-2009 02:24 PM

Brrr rather you than me Gen! I suffer through every winter and am really a summer person. It's forecast for 30 today and that will be lovely :D

Yesterday was an awesome day for me. My food intake was perfect and I had an awesome session at the gym - 30 minutes weights circuit and 50 minutes cardio :woohoo:

I also finally got the guts up to have my trainer take my measurements and estimate my body fat. Eek! My body fat came out at 38.something % so I'll be interested to measure it again in a few months. He did say that using calipers the reading tends to be more than what he thinks it should be so I shouldn't get too hung up on it. From what I've read online so far, the healthy range for women is between 20 and 30%.

Goals for today are to stick to my points and to have a good session at the gym tonight.

:twirly:

7senuf 01-15-2009 03:17 PM

never had the whole body fat thing done. maybe i should?????

walked 3 km yesterday. Had to. Car wouldnt start when i went to leave m friends so got a lift home, but walked in morn to see i it would start. nope. had it towed to performance centre to get new starter motor.

walking about 5km this morning pushing pram to go visit a friend... woohoo. i figured if i have a REASON to walk somewhere i might do it more often.

PerthChick 01-15-2009 06:13 PM

Yesterday it got to 39.8ºC here - and it will be hotter than that today :o. DISgusting!!!

Vonni I love walking. I know that a lot of people spend money on gyms and other stuff, but walking is free, you can do it anywhere, anytime… and it has significantly helped my weight loss.

Julia! You're having a great week - body fat is a great way to measure our progress, and it's a great motivator.

I have to work in a big tin shed in 40ºC heat today. So the word for today is WATER!

Kel you raised a really good question when you said you needed to figure out why you eat when you're not hungry. It's something I have struggled with for ages - and I'm still trying to figure it out. Sometimes it's boredom, loneliness or anger - and at other times it is the easy access (ie because it's right there in the cupboard), or because I confuse a craving for water with one for food. I don't know - it's pretty complex, hey.

Anyway must go and water some plants before this heat gets unbearable.

smylie 01-15-2009 08:51 PM

drove home AVOIDING kfc and red rooster
woo me
toasted sandwich
ham cheese and mushroom
woo me

7senuf 01-16-2009 02:58 AM

woo kel. lol.

Ani I eat heaps when its hot. then feel really crappy afterwards, just that i dont want to hang about in kitchen making stuff so grab easy crap. then sloth on the coach.

BUT you will be happy to learn I DID go for that walk this morning and it was hard work. Its sort of up n down up n down terrain. nothing to steep or long, just the constant shifting. and pushing a pram. That makes it harder. However I DO like walking, but like to go on my own or with a friend. Cause without a pram you can let yr arms go natural and it is easier on the legs. where as pram you are working legs harder.

LittleKiwi 01-16-2009 03:33 PM

Your walk sounds good Vonni, especially pushing the pram! That would definitely add to the workout :cb:

I was spot on with everything yesterday. Ran for 40 minutes at the gym and then had a good, healthy dinner before going to my friend's place for drinks. I packed a bag with one serving of pretzels (2 1/2 points worth) and only ate those - no more! Also had just 2 vodka and diet lemonades so was fine to drive home and didn't go over my points. :cheer3::cheer2::cheer3:

Now it's the weekend and that's always my big challenge - sticking to relatively normal eating patterns while I don't have the structure of work and my break times to work around.

Goals for today and tomorrow: write down everything i eat, stick to my points and do some exercise.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

:twirly:

PerthChick 01-16-2009 04:36 PM

It got up to 42ºC yesterday, very windy - and of course the local arsonists were out in force. We had a few huge fires here, including one in Kings Park (which is our city park, overlooking the CBD/city and the river) which was deliberately lit.

And it was hideously hot and uncomfortable at work. I drank over THREE litres of water - that's how hot it was!

Today is cooler - only 33ºC - and I'm working 9-5, so it should be reasonably easy to stay on plan.

Kel I'm very proud of you for driving past those fast food places - good stuff!

Julia I find my days off are harder too and I have to plan for them the same way as I plan for my work days otherwise I end up eating too much.

Vonni it's great for your leg muscles to push a pram.

Lindor are you there yet? Can't wait to hear how the trip went and see how you're starting to settle in.

Have a good weekend everyone. I must water the garden and get ready for work.

smylie 01-18-2009 01:51 AM

heheeh i didnt drive past i AVOIDED them, hehehe i didnt think i had 100% will power to drive past so i drove a different way completly home to my toasted sanga
AND i made a sandwich before i went to the opshop and the other chick i work with had a sandwich too and even though we were going to shout ourselves fish and chips I WAS THE STRONG ONE and we both ate our sandwich

why do i keep eating even when i am full?

what is with this crazy weather??? ani 42 is just insane!! i went to kings park when i was in perth that is so stupid that some deliberately lit a fire!
jemima almost did yesterday at fairy party she went to - she came into kitchen where i was and 3 seconds later she left, after she left we could smell burning, she MUST have turned the stovetop on, someone had a teatowel ON the stove so that we could put other stuff on it i guess and it well very quickly started to burn so we turned it off and looked at eachother like "s h*t that was lucky...." without knowing what to say.... just wfhew, happy birthday sorry about your house..... hehehee

here is a link to photos of jem as a fairy!
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...7&id=672125417
i did the mummy thing and glued the gems on her singlet the night before, bought a wand from a shop but everything else we had been given or i found lying around! woo me for being good mummy and saving money

7senuf 01-18-2009 08:49 AM

Kel how cute. Also silly heads should NOT have had anything sitting on stove with kids around let alone a teatowel. I am really paranoid about that sort of thing. Even when I was little I was taught not to put anything on stove. We have a simmer hot plate on ours and u only have to tap it and it turns on, and HOT............... simmer my a s s lol.

Ani 42 blerk. I thought i was sweltering at 36 on Friday. Yesterday at 3pm Matt got paged and had to take fire truck to Texas. Grass fires were starting to threaten the forestry and strong winds. They started a backburn and also had planes dropping water. He got back at 10 last night. Today was pretty good but still a little windy.

I've just been teaching myself how to play Augie March - One Crowded Hour on the keyboard, been fun. Typed all my letters and resumes so just have to send off now and HOPE i get a nursing Job. Big W really sux at the mo.

Gotta fly have a smoke b4 i brush my teeth for ni nighs.

Vonni xoxox

Lindor 01-18-2009 09:27 AM

Very quick 'hi' as I have limited internet access (getting close to maxing out my monthly wireless rations!)

I arrived last monday evening, got the keys to my house and literally crashed on the floor with the dogs and cat.

Went on a massive shopping spree early Tues and bought a load of furniture...only the essential stuff...and a TV

Was told none of that could be delivered until Thursday...so spent the next two nights sleeping on the floor! Hate to say it, but thank gawd I had some fat on me to ease the pain of the hard floor!!!

Have had airconditionersinstalled in two bedrooms and main living area...however since organising that have come to realise 34C is nowhere near as uncomfortable as the 40+C I was used to...so that was probably not as urgent as I had thought. Nevermind...the job is done now.

Have been informed I have a massive tree in my yard that is full of ants...been advised to get rid of it...$1200 thank you!!! And I paid for a pest inspection prior to purchase!!!

Ani (Bunnings Guru you!)...any advice on getting rid of the juicy green ants that bite? They nest in clumps of leaves high up in the trees. My yard is full of them!!

I have a Bunnings store just around the corner...but it seems to be run by kids! When enquiring about my ant problem the girl dealing with me was more obsessed with saving the life of a worm that was left on the counter from the previous customer who bought some potted plants!! The freakin' worm wasn't even 5mm long!!! I left and bought some home brand surface spray from Woolies instead!!

Was told on friday that my belongings that I had put on the truck with an ETA of the 19th is sitting somewhere in Perth!!! ETA is now the 28th!! Grrr!

Weight...I am eating at regular meal times, not gorging on fast food (although have had a couple of meals from Red Rooster, more out of convenience rather than splurging!). Unfortunately my mother is here with me and is doing the cooking! She is my biggest critic when it comes to my weight, but she still serves huge portions! I've asked her to cut down the portion sizes...which she has done...but has started preparing morning and afternoon tea!!! I start work on the 27th so that will get me away from that during the day...and I'm sending her home a week later! When she goes I fully intend to take control of my diet, exercise and weight-loss!!

Must go...this was only intended to be a quick 'hi'!!!

Great to hear from you Lindor, it sounds like you're getting well settled despite a few hiccups. That sucks that the truck with all your stuff is stuck in Perth though, I hope it gets to you soon.

Kel, well done for avoiding the fast food and for having the willpower to say no to fish n chips :cheer2:

I had a reasonably good weekend. Went to the gym on Saturday and for an hour long walk yesterday. Not so good with food on Saturday night as a friend came over to watch movies and she brought crackers and dips which I fair scoffed down.

I've realised that that is my biggest weakness - snacking while watching tv and not thinking about what I'm eating. I need to stop doing that as I'm sure that it's not helping my weight loss.

Goals for today: Stick to my points and have a good workout at the gym tonight.

Hope everyone is well :D

julia - i reckon if you cant help but snack in front of the tv change what you snack on OR keep it in check give yourself ONE cup of popcorn and MAKE it last the whole show or something
or change to boring food you dont want to eat and maybe you wont snack on it? or take up knitting as it is more a distraction fidgeting thing i reckon.... maybe??

woohoo lindor in darwin safe and sound with all her stuff on its way
why not get your mum being creative and give her fancy smancy cookbooks to get h ealthy recipes out of - or get your mum to plan your meals, tell her how many calories you are allowed and get her to do it...... hehehehehe getting her working with you not against you? cant believe your stuff comes the day after you start work!

vonni - i hope you get a nursing job really really soon, is it warwick you live and are loooking for work?

i have just "lost" the digital camera so i am freaking out a little coz the last i remember i had dropped it next to the car in the driveway - now did i pick it up and leave it on the roof and lose it on the road? or did someone steal off driveway or am i not seeing it somewhere in the car? :(
