Today was weigh-in. I was up a little at home to 201.8, but that was down .8 from last week. Got to school and her scale had me the same as last week. I was depressed. I just don't seem to be making any real progress. Every ounce that has come off has taken forever, plus a ton of work. Don't understand why it has become so difficult lately. Probably because I am so close to 200. It is taunting me.

Ward- Halloween!! Yuck!! I know there will be lots of goodies at our classroom party next week. I will choose one "bad" treat, and then some fruit. It's all down hill from here to the end of the year. This will be my first year going through the holidays with my new eating and exercising plan. I hope I survive it.

Susie- Yep, there is always something out there that we could lay the blame on. We can't let that happen. We must stick to our guns, no mater what. I know you can do it.

Hello,

I made it through the stressfull work week and I got caught up with my work. I have a lot to start on Monday but it's current, so that feel good.

Now time to start catching up at home with things. I am one who has to have everything on a plan and organized and you know I seem to do that with every area but my own weight-loss, so thinking about that I have answered my question as to why I haven't lost anything this year. I have not had it organized and planned. Now I know what I need to do.

To that effect my plan for right now is to show a 10 lb loss for the year. It's almost 8 weeks until the new year, plenty of time to loose 10 lbs...that is if I get started and work hard, which I'm ready to do. Ready is that I have a notebook and a calorie counting book that I can carry with me at all times so I write it all down as I go and not waiting until it's over and I have to play catch up--that's where I get off track. Keeping track of my food is where I get off track. I love to workout so I don't have issues there.

I'm going to add a track here to keep track of the 10 lb goal. Seeing it there will help keep me focuses--I know seeing Mindy's keeps me motivated.

Mindy: You have come so far and yes it has been slow and hard work...but think about how much better you feel and look.

Ward: Your upcoming week does sound challenging. I know that you have trouble with binging (as do I), maybe this week writing it down and keeping track will help keep you from overdoing it?

Ok..got to get to cleaning the house and grocery shopping and get some laundry done. Hubby and I have a Halloween party tonight to attend so I better get to moving.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

Susie- I am so excited for you. I ALWAYS have my journal and write down and count everything. I swear it is my lifesaver. I just don't eat things unless I know how many calories they have. I love the ticker. You are so on track.

I was feeling really bad yesterday because it has seems like I am not making any progress at all lately. Well I looked back at my journal today and realized tha in the last month I have lost almost 5 pounds. It is not a lot, but seems to be pretty normal for me I guess. It is working it just seems like it's taking foreer to get below 200. It is probably because I want it so much. Patience Mindy, patience.

See ya later.

Susie, you can do it. Writing everything down is a great way to stay accountable. I keep my food journal on the computer - I am a number nerd so I like to see the reports and stuff.

Mindy, I know it must seem like slow progress to you, but I look at your ticker and it says you have lost almost 50 pounds. 50 pounds!!! That is amazing progress and something you should be really proud of.

As for me, I couldn't even wait until the week-end to fall off the wagon. I had a binge yesterday. yuck. I am trying to stay on track today. Breakfast was good, workout was good (Group Ride, 55 min cardio). I went to the grocery store to buy stuff for the chili cook-off and didn't stray into the baked goods, so I am hanging on.

See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone! I feel like I am finally back on the wagon full force. I have been eating right (even on the weekend) for the last couple of weeks and it is really paying off. I had gained a few pounds over the summer from my total lack of working out, and I have slowly but surely taken it back off and then some. So far I have lost about 10 pounds since school started (I am bummed that some of it I had to take off twice), and I am more steadily going down. I am now down to the lowest weight I have been since starting this journey in January: 194. I feel like a whole different person. Now I just want those small victories like going down to the next 10 (like seeing the 180's).

Susie--Good for you for carrying that journal with you everywhere. Like Mindy, I calculate everything before eating it. I am now at the point where I don't need to carry my journal with me, because I eat pretty much the same stuff during the day, so when dinner rolls around, I can quickly jot down what I have eaten for the day and figure out how many calories I have left. I reduced my calories about a month ago to 1400, and at first it was really tough. Now I wonder how I ever ate more than that. You are doing awesome, Susie--Keep up the good work!

Wardhog--Looking good in that dress!! It really makes me want to work even harder so I can get down to that size someday. Now, don't feel like you have to answer, but I am always curious. I know you are like 125 pounds. What size does someone wear when they are 125 pounds? It always amazes me that people can weigh very different amounts and wear the same size. Like Mindy and I. We are very close to the same weight, but she still wears a smaller size than I do. My brother's ex-girlfriend wore a size 0, but I don't know how much she weighed. If you feel like answering, just out of curiosity, what size do you wear?

Mindy--I am so proud of you. You continue working harder and harder day in and day out. Your body is getting so small! I know the scale doesn't always show it, but you are becoming unrecognizable! I love working out with you and I have missed it the last two days. You inspire me, and thinking about how hard you are working makes me want to work hard, too. Plus, you are catching up with me, and I can't have that, now can I? By the way, I thought about you for the last half hour as Bob kicked my butt--I just kept thinking, "If Mindy was here next to me I wouldn't stop", so I just kept going and going. So, thank you!!

Talk to everyone later!

P.S. Yay for me! I won the BL contest this past week! 2.5 pounds lost!

You are such a great group of ladies! You have all done so well this year and I really haven't, yet you keep believing in me and giving me hope with your posts and your suggestions.

Kelly & Mindy: What a great idea to caculate the food BEFORE I eat. I will start doing that. Thank you for the suggestion.

Ward: I'm sorry that you had a binge--any idea why? How do you get back on track after one? Sometimes if I binge it's days before I can get back on track and I wish I could turn it around faster and get back on track.

I'll see everyone tomorrow.

Well, it turned into a three day binge. I hope I can keep it on track today. I mean, I will! Yesterday I didn't have much time to work out, so I did the hardest thing I could think of, which was the stair mill, for one hour. Today I did Group Power, 27 min on the stair mill, and a 3 mi run. Eating is on plan so far today.

Kelly, you asked me what size I wear, and the answer is, it depends. In pants, maybe an 8; a 6 in a dress; maybe a medium top. It seems like every brand is different, and then you throw in vanity sizing and I just don't know any more. (The black dress is a 9/10.)

Oh well. I have my annual gyn appt. on Wed. so I wonder what she will say about my weight. I only started seeing her after I had kids, so by the time my son was a year old, my weight was down to around 125 and stayed there for two years. Then when I saw her last year she had her nurse put me on the scale twice because she thought she made a mistake. I was like, "No, I have gained a lot." It was embarrassing. Anyway, I hope she doesn't make a big deal out of it. Is it weird that being weighed is what I hate most about a gyn appt.?

Hi Ladies,

This looking up my food before I eat it is a god-send! I feel so much more in control. I think it's because I get to decide if it's worth it before I eat it and then I don't find out later that I went over my limit and I then get the attitude that I'll just go ahead and have whatever because I already blew it for the day and I'll start new tomorrow.

Ward: It can be so hard to stop a binge but I know you can do it and I think the thing that keeps you on track are your workouts. So, since you got your workout in today you are already getting back on track.

About that appt. I have been known to put mine off for a couple of months just so I could loose some weight--isn't that crazy!?

I'm back to work..talk to you tomorrow.

Ward- Yep sizes ar wierd. When I was 145 I was a size 12 jean. Now I am 200ish and a size 16. It seems that at this rate I will be a much smaller size at 145 than I was before. I guess I'll have to wait and see. Oh, and my DD is about 150 and a size 6 or 8, depending.

Susie- Good job looking things before they hit your mouth. That is the only way i can do it. I can't handle getting to the end of the day and finding out i have seriously overate. Of course I have been doing this for a while and I'm pretty good at eating about the right calories everyday.

I am having my mid-cycle gain and just have to laugh about it. I went up 2 pounds yesterday and another 1/2 today. I am back up to 204.4 I know what is happening and just have to be patient and wait for it to go away. URGH!! I HATE MY BODY!!!

See ya tom.

Quick stop in for me too! I'm doing well and on plan; this pre-planning journaling is such a great tool.

I'm looking forward to my workout in about and hour.

Mindy: Monthly cycles come and go..they are not true gains..stay your course..you will see a big drop in a few days..that is just the way your body works.

Ward: Good for you for staying on plan. A few more days and you will have that binge beat.

I'll see you all tomorrow.

Yep, I'm hanging in there waiting for the loss to come. I wish my body was different, but it's not. So I must go with the flow.

Keep working hard ladies. You are all amazing.

"go with the flow ..." sorry.

How was your workout, Susie?

I had my annual today, so I missed the gym. I did a quick walk around the neighborhood, 2 miles in about 35 min. Eating is on plan, although I am very hungry for whatever reason.

See you tomorrow.

I could understand if it coincided with the "flow", but it is 2 weeks before that. Like I said, CRAZY BODY.

I was down a bit today, so it looks like it already starting to come back off.

Yay! for the scale going down.

I did Group Ride plus 52 min of cardio today. Eating is on plan. Must.resist.Halloween.candy. I need to get a couple of pounds off to have a little cushion before my birthday (11/19), Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's ...
