In honour of K-Mart going under,I think Peaches should get engaged in the lingerie aisle------under the glow of the blue light special!!!!heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh----have fun in NYC you vixen you---maybe you can get some new green slingbacks!!
Sugar -- I think I sent it to the right address. I'll send you another one right now, see if you get that.
No, not the yucky gland thing, the ol' doggie just has recurring skin infections which she licks endlessly. Took her to the vet today so I could spend lots of money and make her swallow several pills a day. I hope that clears it up. The vet made me promise to give Molly (that's the dog) a big birthday bash this spring -- she's turning 15 years old! He said that's about 93 in her breed. It shows. She's deaf, incontinent, on several medications, has to be helped into the bathtub, sleeps all the time, doesn't eat well and snaps at you when you try to clip her nails and brush her hair. I expect I'll be the same way at 93. At least she's not senile.
The Dairy Queen is a great place to propose -- cuz then you can go for ice cream afterwards. DH brought me a heart balloon back on the corporate jet (he'd been on a business trip) and when we arrived back at our little cabin, he proposed. He was a little tipsy from the "cocktail hour" on board. I suspect the other guys on the plane razzed him the whole flight.
I didn't know Rent was still playing -- I hear it's really good. If you get to see it, I will be suitably jealous!
The end of this month I'm going to Boston with some friends and we're going to see Aida --apparently not the opera, but some adaptation by Elton John. I have no idea. I should probably find out what the heck it is before I go.
DD was invited over to a friend's new house today to help her paint her room. Thrill.
Week one and four pounds lost! This would be more amazing if it wasn't the same four pounds recently gained. Oh well. It made the dietician happy, and that's what it's all about. I'm having a hard time clicking with this lady. I think she may have always been thin. She told me she has counted her daily caloric intake for the last 25 years. Puh-leeeeze! I don't know what I expect from her. I'm a tough customer. Maybe I will warm up to her after I lose about 30 lbs. I'm always cranky when I'm fat.
Kiwi, my sympathys re: the doggie butt.
Gee, it's been so long ago I don't remember getting engaged. I think DH just assumed that we would eventually marry. At some point I found myself with a ring on my finger. When he got sick of living with 3 other guys we bought a house and got hitched. I don't recall it being very romantic.
Why is it that no one has posted? Could it be that you all are just green with envy over my 4 pound weight loss???? Huh? could that be it??
Yesterday evening we were at an older couples house. I had never met this woman before. She looked at me and said "you look tired." I was speechless. I said, "well yes, I guess I am tired." Geez! I wanted to say "you look old.", but you know how nice I am. Actually I do look tired. How much would an eye lift cost? That old bat really depressed me.
Congratulations, Wabster, keep up the good work! (see, I am green with envy)
I totally agree; I hate it when people make personal comments like that. You have to be really close to me to tell me I look tired, and even then you better be really sympathetic. It's just so condescending to say that to someone in a social situation. Would make me want to get all dramatic "You're right, I'm so exhausted, would you mind if I took a nap instead of talking to you?"
Well, I have nothing at all to say. I'm planning a boring weekend. I only have 2 more Tai Chi classes; unfortunately I don't think I have reached enlightment and physical perfection yet. Oh well. Someone I know is offering a Pilates class starting in a couple of weeks. Is that any good? I would assume it would be a little overly energetic for my frame of mind these days, but hey, I want to be openminded.
I sold a book yesterday at Half.com. Of course I also bought one. Nice how it all evens out....
Tata, I think the dog needs more medication or something....... <--- that's me, the veterinary angel of mercy.
Kiwi
P.S. Yesterday when we went to the vet, Molly gave the vet a stool sample right on the examining table. She's full of great tricks.
Okay so I had two margies and now I am on the computer---but hearing about wabbie's weight loss might just be enough to keep me out of the Pringles----doubt it! anyway------ i am slowly realizing how fat I am and will be thinking about doing something sooooon,I pray we have been having the Spring Break all week and there is no snow and the weather is even kind of mild!!!!amazing!!!same with you Kiwi???We have absolutely NO snow!!!---wabby---i HATE it when someone says I look tired---they might as well say you look like **** that is what you feel like======too bad the old bat didn't say it to kiwi---good comeback babe----better still====wish she had said it to PEACHES!!!!!
but we still have giant rock-hard snowbanks everywhere, and our driveway/yard is covered with ice, while the front yard has a couple feet of hard, useless snow on it. I haven't been cross-country skiing once this year, and I have doubts that I will get to at all. Of course I should have gone at the beginning of Jan. but I didn't feel like it.
The word is that we would need 2 to 3 months of solid rain to bring lake levels back up to normal for the summer. Of course that's not going to happen, so people are going to have a very dry summer around here. I am starting to wonder if our well is going to hold up. If it doesn't we might as well just move away. After all, DH hasn't done Thing 1 toward getting this house repaired/renovated, so it's barely liveable as it is. No water would simply make it unliveable. Maybe I could collect the water that drips through the ceiling when it does get around to raining....
I watched A. I. (Artificial Intelligence) last night -- it was not quite what I thought it would be. It was endlessly long, and just kept getting weirder and weirder, kind of like 2001 A Space Odyssey. You know, starts out as sort of a normal story, then wanders off into neverneverland.
Did you know that Haley Joel Osment (he was in A.I., Pay It Forward, Sixth Sense ) was also in Forrest Gump when he was about 4 years old?
Today I rented Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Should be pretty outrageous.
Bleh! Stomach flu. Me. Sick as a Yuk. I lost 4 lbs too, Wabby, but they'll be right back on as soon as I hydrate myself again, so only you get the yahoo 'cause yours are staying off, right? Good for you! How is the dietician measuring body fat?
I hate that "You look tired" line. People always tell me I "sound tired" on the phone.
Gotta go lie down. Tomorrow is ds5's birthday. Hope I make it through.
What a rotten thing. Did you already have DS's birthday party , or was that big brother's? Hope you feel better right quick.
We had Sunday dinner at SIL's house today. Rather pleasant, although DD sat at the table after the meal looking morosely bored, but we ignored her.
Anybody try that Fat-Burning Cabbage Soup recipe? I think I'll try it (although I'm not going to follow the diet). I bought a head of cabbage just for the occasion. What a thrill.
Kiwi
P.S. Jay and Silent Bob was disgusting and obscene. Although funny...
Tonight we're watching The Last Castle with Robert Redford
Kiwi, it was movie weekend at our house too. I watched "America's Sweethearts" which was an ok movie. Then DH watched A.I. and The Last Castle. I was busy reading Fall on Your Knees . I was going to buy it a half.com, but I couldn't wait and it was only seven bucks at Costco.
Kiwi, I finally got annoyed with my DH's lack of progress on our house so I finally called a contractor to finish all the projects that have almost been finished at my house. He's going to put in a new tub surround in the main bath. Now if he just shows up to do the work.
We went out to dinner with DH's half sis that we haven't seen in 2 or 3 years even though we live in the same town. She has 2 very stinky Chows and 3 cats that walk all over the counters and kitchen table and 1 very vocal parrot. It was like an evening at the zoo. Actually, she's very sweet and definitely loves her critters.
You know, I realized that I really don't have much to say. Why don't we start a new thread with something interesting?
