Crikey - go off for a well deserved sleep of the just and you lot have a debate without me.
Morning all.
I think it has all been said above, but then again, it wouldn't be me if I didn't add in my 2c worth.
You get out of things what you put into things - usually a direct ratio. For myself I don't worry too much about people posting personals as we all (those in the country, those in town, those under snow and ice and those in the heat of the tropics) have other things in life we must deal with. When I can, I always post personals since it gives me an insight into how this thread moves and feels about things and how people react to different stimuli. Certainly as Happy says, we can support, advise and celebrate by the personals. If the whole world provided the support that we willingly give each other there wouldn't be the strife in Iraq, Afghanistan, Angola or anywhere else. The support we give here doesn't mean that we can forget to put effort into our own struggles because when it all comes down to the nitty gritty the saying - If it is to be, it's up to me - still holds true.
I can't see the problems with long posts. I have the choice to say stuff it, I'd rather be cleaning the cats litter tray or whatever. Mostly I don't do that - before anyone gets excited about how clean is the cat's litter tray. And anyway if I have a problem and a long rant, who better to regale with it because each of you would come up with a possible solution one of which might actually work. This is what support should be. Sharing of ideas and solutions and caring about how each of us is coping and working. If there is no time for personals, then I will tell you so. If a long rant is coming up, I will tell you that as well. If one of you naffs me off, I have no hesitation in coming here and letting it all hang loose. If it is a personal rant however, I will pm you. Life is not all about me - much as I think it should be! and we are all equal here. Post long messages Michelle, I think you can be fairly certain that if the women here get p*ssed off they will let you know fast enough.
Enough, today is a busy one, the cat is off to vet dentistry soon. I will have to go to the bank and organise a personal loan to pay the bill

I wonder if she knows how lucky she really is? Probably not - she thinks she is a living goddess and should be treated as such. After that paint goes on the kitchen ceiling and as some of you know, there are problems with my ceilings but I promise not to swear at you all if the peeling and flaking problem happens again. Following that, I need to cut some more of the hedge and mow the grass yet again. Ensure that the weeds are staying out of the rose patch and then get back into that shed to see how much more I can throw away. There is a council clean up coming and I have every intention of getting rid of as much as I can for free. No gym today - I have Thursdays and Fridays off for good behaviour.

Not that you would have noticed the good behaviour recently. Padlock going on the fridge shortly.
Carla - We'll be adamantly abstaining in Athens next month - however I hope we will also be be
active AND abstemious while cavorting around the Parthenon or the Temple of Zeus. Enjoy Victoria. Lovely, lovely place - are you staying at the Empress???

Do you have the penthouse suite? Hope the sugar headache is now gone and not replaced by a liquid intake headache.
Happy - the sandwich sounded good. Might have a go at that myself. Lovely cranberry sauce or jelly. Either way I can make a big dent in the jar.
Mel - send the neatnik over here. I need someone to blame when things are lost somewhere.
Michelle - Sounds like 2004 was not a great year for you. Sometimes this is the way it happens with our parents. One does not want to go on without the other.
I think I have said more than enough about the posts and personals.
Good job on the walking with the DH
Annie - good to hear the family is getting back on it's collective feet. Hope all the hospital visits are now in memory only.
Nae - hope that the visit goes well. Fingers are crossed for you.
Rennie - the day your get up and go, gets up and goes will be the day they drag you out of the house feet first.
Ruth - I've seen some of the stuff you have to deal with as moderator. Sometimes it must be a relief to get off the computer and back into living. Retirement or not you still pack more into a day than most. So you are into the 100 days to perfection as well. I can see that I will have to lift my act before I come visit the worldlies again. I'm closer to total destruction than personal perfection.
Major munchies has been my problem to this week - hence the rise in salt levels no doubt although I just remembered I haven't taken the fluid tablets for a couple of days. Better get on to that or I will be a water filled balloon. And with that I have myself created a LONG post.
Have a good day everyone.
