NOW I NEED TO SEND HUGS TO NAE
PERSONALS ARE A "PERSONAL" THING TO EACH OF US. NOT EVERYONE FEELS THE SAME WAY ABOUT THEM. AND THAT'S OK TOO. I WOULD BE VERY SADDENED OIF YOU FELT UNCOMFORTABLE STAYING HERE. NOT A PROBLEM...I ASSURE YOU. HOPE THE VISIT IS GOING TO BE VERY POSITIVE!! SENDING GOOD VIBES. RELAX AND ENJOY IT. HAPPY WALKING AND HOPE WE ALL GET WARMED UP SOON! :sunny: |
Now I'm getting to feel guilty about my lack lack of personals. Unfortunately the South Beachers are taking up too much of my time, not so much regulars but Newbies who have discovered they can PM moderators. Oy!
By the way, I ordered the 100 Days book from Amazon.ca and expect it today or tomorrow. Knee continues to give me grief and woke me twice last night to crab about a trip to WallyWorld, groceries and the dog groomer. Today I'll give in a bit and rest her although I really should tackle some of the snow on my deck. I'll post a picture from Easter afternoon and you'll see where my Spring is at! The BBQ is on the left waiting for me to make the first beer can chicken of the year. ** Sigh ** |
Please, no one should feel guilty about not posting personals. Some of us choose to and some choose not to and some simply do not have time. And it's all okay and all good. If my schedule doesn't permit more than a fly by, then that's what I'll do. If I can't even do that....oh well. No one will be hurt if you don't have time or choose not to post personals. It's great having all of you wonderful worldlies on this forum. I learn from all of you and appreciate connecting with you all in whatever form. :)
Nae - :grouphug: I hope that you feel very comfortable to post whatever your time allows and whatever you feel like. It's all good. :) As for the 100 Days book, I'm really enjoying it and getting a lot out of reading it and doing the writing exercises. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your son, his GF and daughter. :goodvibes: Ruth - Sorry to hear that your knee pain. I hope it subsides soon. I guess SE Canada still has lots of snow. So does Wisconsin, with a little more on the way. I'm sure Spring will arrive one of these days! :) Mel - Thanks for making me feel better about my chatty posts! All of you worldly ladies are so wonderful! I feel very fortunate to have your support and friendship. |

Just flying by at the moment. Still doing spring cleaning. I swear my get up and go has gone lol. Darn sinuses are killing me and the smell of food is not a good thing this morning. It is all YOUR fault. I am sitting here typing instead of getting things done lol. If it isn't one excuse it is another for me today.
MELODY leave my little people alone. I do check lol. Welcome anyone I haven't welcomed. There is no such thing as to long or to short of posts. Happy all you need is electric for the machine so no problem. All the sites have full hook up. We use the tent and blow up mattresses lol. His family has a nice camper but to me that is wimping out unless you are old. I happen to pull the mattress out of the tent and sleep under the stars. You work to much. I would just leave the machine outside the tent lol. Shad I haven't been to Alabama in years and years. Real nice place, as I recall. di HI Nae We are always happy to hear it all. Everyone needs someone to talk to and we are just the group that likes to listen. Ruth Tell those people to leave you alone for a min lol. annie Hi |

There is some needed comraderie here in sharing our struggles and successes with sympathetic ears and strong shoulders of my sisters who understand the highs and lows of life. When I first came to 3FC 6 years ago, like Shad and Mel I was on multiple threads and journals and tried to help and support everyone I came in contact with. Eventually that just ate up too much time so I have pared down my time to just a thread or two that I can keep up with. Like Michelle I am also a yakker/long poster (and please don't apologize Michelle - I love your posts). Sometimes I feel bad about rambling on and on too... I realize that not everyone has the time or wants to post with everyone. And I don't judge anyone for that because that is an individual choice. I will however be honest enough to say up front that I am more likely to support someone who interacts with me, even if it is on an occasional basis. It all comes done to one of my key philosophies in life - you get back in life what you put into it. I would hope that I have been here long enough to speak my feelings without offense and this happens to be one of the things I feel very strongly about. And with that, my lunch is over and the boss is on the hunt for me... |
Well put, Happy. I posted in the Journals for a while and got way behind. I'll try to do better in here but am pretty tight for time. (What am I saying? You chickies work at real jobs!)
Anyhow, got my 100 Days book in the mail today and intend to sit with a cup of tea and check it out. Hershey and I got off our butts and started back doing pet therapy this afternoon. She was just delighted to see the clients again and it was mutual. |
Ruth - So cool that you and Hershey do pet therapy! I'd like to do that, and while my dogs are great with other people, I'm not sure they could pass the Canine Good Citizen Test!
Happy - I might need you to lasso me in. I've had the major munchies today for no real reason. I had a good lunch (1/2 ham sandwich and a big salad), and then I just wanted more!! So I ate the string cheese I brought, plus the yogurt. Still wanted more. So I went downstairs and got some LF popcorn and a V-8. I can work the extra snacks into my points (using up a couple flex points)...but I shouldn't eat so many carbs at one sitting without some more protein....not good for my blood sugar. Hopefully the yogurt and string cheese will balance out the popcorn and V-8. After these are gone...no more food until dinner (which will be around 7:00 or 7:30 when I get home from the gym). I'll do more cardio - close to 60 minutes, along with weights. Gosh I don't like doing weights on my own...much prefer to do them in a class (but the classes at my gym are on break for a week). I know...like the 100 Days book says....it doesn't matter if you don't like it or don't want to do it...DO IT ANYWAY. I'll be back on the narrow road by dinner. Thanks for letting me vent. |
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...owgirl-041.gif *** Twack *** got cha with the velvet rope Michelle.
I know what it's like. Sometimes those munchies hit hard. Just have to think - am I hungry or restless? If you're hungry, then make a good choice which it sounds like you did. Just keep in mind the blood sugar issues. And the salty cheese/v8 stuff. Don't know what it is - but I've been craving more savory over sweets myself lately. I have been quite frustrated on a regular basis this week and have been craving food. So far I have been able to stave it off with the selection of flavored teas I have splurged on. I am so thrilled to see more people on the 100 Day program. :grouphug: It's nice to address the mental issues of a lifestyle change rather than always focusing on the latest food trend. Oh and we took an informal survey today - at 3 different building locations, we are all going nuts, too much to do, feeling the crunch and and someone turned up the merry-go-round to high speed. Must be something in the air. :dizzy: |
What great news Ruth for both of you to lose some cabin fever and get out of the house! Bet the patients are happy to have visitors too. :D
|
Crikey - go off for a well deserved sleep of the just and you lot have a debate without me.
Morning all. I think it has all been said above, but then again, it wouldn't be me if I didn't add in my 2c worth. You get out of things what you put into things - usually a direct ratio. For myself I don't worry too much about people posting personals as we all (those in the country, those in town, those under snow and ice and those in the heat of the tropics) have other things in life we must deal with. When I can, I always post personals since it gives me an insight into how this thread moves and feels about things and how people react to different stimuli. Certainly as Happy says, we can support, advise and celebrate by the personals. If the whole world provided the support that we willingly give each other there wouldn't be the strife in Iraq, Afghanistan, Angola or anywhere else. The support we give here doesn't mean that we can forget to put effort into our own struggles because when it all comes down to the nitty gritty the saying - If it is to be, it's up to me - still holds true. I can't see the problems with long posts. I have the choice to say stuff it, I'd rather be cleaning the cats litter tray or whatever. Mostly I don't do that - before anyone gets excited about how clean is the cat's litter tray. And anyway if I have a problem and a long rant, who better to regale with it because each of you would come up with a possible solution one of which might actually work. This is what support should be. Sharing of ideas and solutions and caring about how each of us is coping and working. If there is no time for personals, then I will tell you so. If a long rant is coming up, I will tell you that as well. If one of you naffs me off, I have no hesitation in coming here and letting it all hang loose. If it is a personal rant however, I will pm you. Life is not all about me - much as I think it should be! and we are all equal here. Post long messages Michelle, I think you can be fairly certain that if the women here get p*ssed off they will let you know fast enough. Enough, today is a busy one, the cat is off to vet dentistry soon. I will have to go to the bank and organise a personal loan to pay the bill  I wonder if she knows how lucky she really is? Probably not - she thinks she is a living goddess and should be treated as such. After that paint goes on the kitchen ceiling and as some of you know, there are problems with my ceilings but I promise not to swear at you all if the peeling and flaking problem happens again. Following that, I need to cut some more of the hedge and mow the grass yet again. Ensure that the weeds are staying out of the rose patch and then get back into that shed to see how much more I can throw away. There is a council clean up coming and I have every intention of getting rid of as much as I can for free. No gym today - I have Thursdays and Fridays off for good behaviour. :running: :running::running: Not that you would have noticed the good behaviour recently. Padlock going on the fridge shortly. Carla - We'll be adamantly abstaining in Athens next month - however I hope we will also be be active AND abstemious while cavorting around the Parthenon or the Temple of Zeus. Enjoy Victoria. Lovely, lovely place - are you staying at the Empress??? Do you have the penthouse suite? Hope the sugar headache is now gone and not replaced by a liquid intake headache. Happy - the sandwich sounded good. Might have a go at that myself. Lovely cranberry sauce or jelly. Either way I can make a big dent in the jar. :ink: Mel - send the neatnik over here. I need someone to blame when things are lost somewhere. Michelle - Sounds like 2004 was not a great year for you. Sometimes this is the way it happens with our parents. One does not want to go on without the other. I think I have said more than enough about the posts and personals. Good job on the walking with the DH Annie - good to hear the family is getting back on it's collective feet. Hope all the hospital visits are now in memory only. Nae - hope that the visit goes well. Fingers are crossed for you. Rennie - the day your get up and go, gets up and goes will be the day they drag you out of the house feet first. Ruth - I've seen some of the stuff you have to deal with as moderator. Sometimes it must be a relief to get off the computer and back into living. Retirement or not you still pack more into a day than most. So you are into the 100 days to perfection as well. I can see that I will have to lift my act before I come visit the worldlies again. I'm closer to total destruction than personal perfection. Major munchies has been my problem to this week - hence the rise in salt levels no doubt although I just remembered I haven't taken the fluid tablets for a couple of days. Better get on to that or I will be a water filled balloon. And with that I have myself created a LONG post. Have a good day everyone. |
I have been reading and am starting week 1 of this program. Really seemed to resonate with me, First thing that has in a VERY long time.
http://www.crystalandrus.com/sw/ HUGS!! |
Shad
I didn't get my get up and go back until 7 pm. I hope whom ever took it used it well lol. Sorry about the ceiling, I hope this time it stays just how you want it. Happy Oh my gosh you are just to funny. Snoring. That reminds me of the people who's camper was right beside us last year. Oh my gosh, I have no idea how they slept through the noise they made. You would hear her and then him. Over and over all night long. Snore, second, snore, second snore. They went on like that every night lol. You really don't want to know how many spiders crawl on you in your own bed in your own home do you lol. We do have a screened thing that goes over the pic nick tables ( holds 3 ) so if it is bad out with bugs I pull the mattress in there. I can't stand sleeping in the camper. My gosh, they keep it as cold as Alaska in there. I love to feel the breeze and hear the water from the river while I sleep not the air conditioner lol. Oh, we used a long extension cord lol. Never thought of that did you lol. |
We have one of those screened gazebo things that we use for sitting in and eating too. Just never thought to sleep in that but it is a thought. I agree with you Rennie on the great feel of the fresh air outside. I know most campgrounds are very safe, just don't feel comfortable laying out in the open - part from growing up in the big city and not being trustful and part too many Night of the Living Dead movies  And I've heard that bit about how many spiders a person swallows in their lifetime and if I thought about it too much - I'd either superglue my lips shut or I'd never sleep again :tired:
Good luck with the new program Holly. Shad - got the pics, thanks - will go well for my spring wallpaper. DH often says the cat is not grateful. I just look and say, ain't that what being a cat is all about??? How long will you be without kitchen cabinets - that's got to get inconvienient very shortly. Got the door open - it's a lovely 70 degrees even at this time of night BUT the train whistles are quite loud tonight. Either fools are running around the gates again (very likely) or the engineer has a heavy hand on the horn. Some nights it's the low whistle of the train which is soothing, other nights it's :yikes:  and what dah heck does abstemious mean? Is that the thingy that sticks out of that hole in your belly? Get it, AB-STEM (belly button outty) Michelle - might want to pack some almonds or walnuts with you. The California Almond Council was giving away free tins that held 1 oz of nuts. The website - AlmondsAreIn dot com has info on it. Geez, those free tins are now $2.48 to order. But according to the website - A one-ounce, 160-calorie serving of almonds, about 23 nuts, is an excellent source of vitamin E and magnesium, and a good source of fiber. It also offers heart-healthy monounsaturated fat, protein, potassium, calcium, phosphorous and iron. So there's your protein. Just have to eat them one at a time and chew 30 times before swallowing  So you got out of I.T.? (Michelle was a fabulous website designer). What are you doing now? Annie - they had a great looking taco salad in the lunch line today. They sold the last one - to the person directly in front of me  The hot entree line had HAM :tantrum: WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD SERVE HAM THIS WEEK? Needless to say, it went untouched. Ruth - sorry to hear the knee is still aching. Even with the snow, there's something about the sunlight in that picture that says spring is coming. Crack open the beer can and wash up that chicken. :hungry: Be the first in the neighborhood to make all the neighbors drool with the smell of BBQ in the air. Hope you have a good visit with your son Nae. I am soooo ready to move out to the country where you are - getting tired of the hustle bustle of the city here. And when I think of you, I think of fabulous starry nights with big skies and lots and lots of stars and peace and quiet. But not the cold, don't want to even THINK about the cold weather up by you :hyper: Brrrrr. :D Carla - hope the head is better today and that they didn't run you ragged at work. Ceejay - hope you are enjoying the vacation. Have a good swim Ellen. Wish I could join you. Mel - I'm sure you'll find a way to smuggle Igor into Athens. I eagerly await your new avatar. Where's Shaker and Painter and Madcat? Get them before we move to Athens. Get them before we have to start ABSTAINING from stuff come TUESDAY. Hurry, hurry  And a good night and pleasant dreams to you all.. |
