I'm back....

Sue - what did the doc say about your mom? Is it all about her heart? Whatever it was, you know we're here for you.

Mindy - a big welcome aboard! About WW, I believe they say you aren't supposed to have more than 3 servings of any "free" foods combined, except veggies each day. The soup must be high in fiber to be free. I went back to doing WW because I lost 85 pounds on it in '04, but once I hit maintenance, I messed up big time, and ended up putting nearly 60 pounds of it back on. But at least that was the first time I didn't gain it all back, plus more. Anyway, your plan sounds like a good one, and I think you'll find lots of encouragement and friendship here.

Ok gals, don't laugh, but I ordered a Richard Simmons Disco Sweat tape. I like him, even though he's silly at times, and the music will take me back to the day, lol. Plus, I like that he has chubbies in his vidoes.

I get weighed in the morning, and am actually looking forward to that.

See ya later,

hello ladies...how are you all doing?

well, goodness on this end! I am almost back to where I was before I used food as my crutch last week. I have about five more pounds to go to be back to where I was previously......but I am taking it all one day at a time. I am actually doing really well with my pedometer as well. Thursday I clocked 1.802 miles, and then on Friday I clocked 2.267 miles!

Sue~ I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers. Like Jane mentioned, we are here for you if/when you need us.

Mindy~ Welcome to the group! I am Mindee, and I am married to Tommy. We have been married for five years, been together for eight. We have three great kids. Brandon, who will be 3 1/2 next month, Logan, who will be 2 next month, and Marissa, who will be 6 months next month. I am in Michigan. I hope to get to know you soon!

Thanks for the welcome!

I got up this morning and jumped straight into my workout clothes. Did The Firm Vol. 4. Was SHAKY by the time it was over. Next time I try to do this I'll eat a piece of toast first.

Mindee - I'm glad we spell our names differently. You sound like a very happy woman!

Jane, thanks for your WW comments. I just feel if I tried to make the same soup, even if I put in whole wheat pasta, it would total out having points. I just don't understand how a soup can have pasta and still be ZERO points. BUT, I am glad WW worked for you in the past and I hope it works for you again. It is a very sound program and their website is great. I'm just a freak.

My husband and his step-son, Scott, have been hunting all week. I know they'll be starving when they get home tonight. I'm going to make a HUGE lasagna. It's my husband's favorite meal.

Hope you all have a fabulous day.

Gonna try this again, VISTA updated in the middle of my post and shutdown and restarted so I lost my nice big post I was in the middle of LOL, I haven't been able to update Me in 2 yrs because Microsoft stopped supporting it so an auto update threw me for a loop LOL anyway....

Good Afternoon Ladies

Took Hubby back to the truck about an hour ago, He got a load out this morning and wouldn't you know it would be to Orlando LOL, he made it to Des Moines for fuel then got a message to call his dispatcher, they had a driver drop off a load so they took his load that was directly to Orlando and now he has to go to Wisconsin then on to Orlando...I'm still trying to figure out this laptop, Hubby played on it for the last 2 days, so now I am gonna have to get him one I think, it did give me time to read the user guide LOL, I found out it has a built in card reader so I was able to load all our vacation pics on with no trouble...I was just thinking this time last week I was at MGM riding the Tower of Terror LOL we rode it 5 times in a row and that still wasn't enough...well I hope everyone has a Good Weekend, gonna try to post a pic or 2 here. The first pic is from the car as we got to WDW and then at the Magic Kingdom when we went through the gate.

Marti - LOL well I did get everyone to agree about moving to Florida finally, so now all I have to do is find a place by March when our lease is up, which means 1 more winter BLAH!!!!

Jane - Happy belated Birthday!!! wish I had paid more attention before I left I would have sent you a Birthday card from WDW, glad you got the postcards though, Thank You for the one you sent sounds like you had a Great time, Ponce Inlet is a little town below Daytona, it's beautiful if you like lighthouses you should take a drive over there if you get the chance, we drove over and then up the coast to St. Augustine, it was a gorgeous day!!

Sue - Sending positive thoughts out for you and your mom.

Sassy - I hope your enjoying your vacation.

Mindy - Welcome to the Group!

Wink Hi Ladies.......

Hi Ladies.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. My vacation is going fine. It technically doesn't "officially" start until Monday, these are my normal days off, but I am counting it anyways! lol.

DH has tonight and tomorrow night and then his vacation begins, I can't wait either, to actually spend an entire week together, wow........lol. We have decided to not go anywhere, at least anywhere far away. We decided to stay here and take day trips. Mostly for our cat, he has issues--lol and I can't sleep very well in a strange bed.

Anyways, I wanted to Thank Jane for the very cute b-day card!

I hope you all are doing well and have a Wonderful Evening!

OMG! My glasses just broke! I just took them off and was cleaning them and they broke. At least it was a clean break, basically in half, so I think DH can glue it for a temp. fix. I am going to call and make an appt Monday for both of us to get eye exams and I'm getting new glasses, this is the 2nd time they have broken, also its time........Luckily I kept my old glasses, I look like Sally Jesse Raphael, except mine aren't red, lol, but at least I can see! lol

Hi ladies,

Mindee - yay for you, doing well with the walking.

Mindy - now you can say you've done 2 consecutive days of exercise! Lasagne sounds good. Bring me a small amount with a big salad and a bunch of veggies, would ya, lol.

PJ - Wow! I've never seen WDW decorated for Halloween before, so the photo at MK threw me off. Is that the Crystal Palace, or City Hall? 161 days until I go with the family!!! Thank you for the birthday thought. The postcards you sent made my day, lol.

Sassy - yw for the card! Day trips are so much fun, and save a bundle on hotel costs. Sorry about the glasses!

Well, ladies, today was my first weigh in, and I'm happy to report 5 3/4 pounds gone. Yes, I know most of that is water loss, but I'll take it anyway. That makes 26 3/4 of the 100 I intend to lose, if I count the pounds I didn't regain from 2004. I like the idea of counting from my highest weight.

My friend Pat took me out for a birthday lunch today, and we ate at Applebees. Both of us got the creole tilipia with brocolli, and it was very filling for 6 points.

Afterwhile Neal and I are going to Terry's camper just to sit and visit, then back home to watch the first episode of Kid Nation. It was on the other night, but we missed it, so we're goint to watch the repeat tonight.

Toodles for now,

Wink Jane

Hi Jane

Yeah that is what we figured, save on hotel costs and like I told DH, since we work such odd hours and work opposite days now, we don't get to go out and enjoy much of our own city. So I was like this WILL be like a "get-away", get-away from the mundane boring work-to-home.

I have been cleaning every single day so that when DH gets off starting on Monday all he will have to do is trash and the litter box. I turn on my fav music and clean. I've been just taking a little at a time but I can honestly say even the little bit at a time I feel better. I sweat, so I know I am burning something, even if just a little. I figure as long as I am up and moving, who really cares what the action is? And this way my apt gets cleaned too!

Anyway, wanted to Congratulate you on the 5 3/4 lb. loss Glad you enjoyed your bday lunch. DH & my friends are taking me out for my bday dinner on Monday night. I have to go get my license renewed too.

Well I hope you have a great evening!

hello ladies....how are you all doing?

we ended up going up to see my parents on Saturday. it was nice to get away for a while. we got some diapers for all kids, some wipes, a high chair for Marissa, a cat, and some other things. right before we had gotten out of the van when we got there, Tommy looked at me and said "now, we are not leaving here with any cats, dogs or any other kind of animal." so, when we got int the van and started to pull out of the drive way, I looked at him and said "I thought we weren't leaving here with any animals?" to which he responded with "well, I didn't expect for this kitty to fall in love with me, and me falling in love with it." so, we have a calico kitty, about 1 or 2 years old, named Miss Priss. all the kiddos are great with her! I will put her picture in my avatar in a second.

Mindy~ It is a good thing that we spell our names differently! we have two Jane's in the group, and now two Mindy/Mindee's.

PJ~ I remember both of those things from your pics when I went seven years ago! Although when I went, in November, they had the place decorated for Christmas. I was your typical tourist when we went there.....I have about three albums full of pictures from my trip to Florida!

Sassy~ Sounds like your vacation is going great! I kept my old glasses when I got my new ones recently as well, just so I would have a spare just in case!

Good morning...The sun is shining and it is pretty out there with some leaves falling and blowing in the air. Still warm, thank goodness.
Mom got to come home last evening, although she is still weak. Heart Dr. said she could come home if she stayed down and rested. We have to see him in a few days. She is a very sick lady in need of heart surgery. Thank you for keeping her/us in your prayers. We will take one day at a time.

Going to try to ride the bike for a few minutes...get me away from the kitchen. I have been eating WAY too much. I won't even weigh myself since I can tell I gained. UGH!

Hi everyone

Jane I have that Richard Simmons video. It will give you a good laugh. We will both pick a time and put it on and do our exercises at the same time.

Just wanted to say a quick hello.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Prayers for you and your mom Sue.

Hey!

The lasagna weighed in at 19 pounds when I put it in the oven. I served it with roasted brussel sprouts instead of the traditional salad. They had a demo at Costco and they were delicious.

Scott and DH went back out hunting this morning and my DH shot an elk. They are tracking it down as I write this.

Haven't exercised again today, but I will!! It's a beautiful day, I think I'll walk my dog and maybe do an ab workout. I HATE my flabby stomach.

Are there any other groups you are part of or is this the only one?

Jane, Congratulations on the 5 3/4 pounds. WOW! Was that in a week?

When I lost weight before I used to weigh myself only once a month. I get freaky weird about the number on the scale. Truly, I don't care if it takes me 2 years to lose the 70 odd pounds I want to lose, I just want to be healthier and keep going DOWN. I also want my skin to have a chance to shrink back up. I certainly can't afford surgery to remove it.

Any thoughts out there??

It's officially FALL!!!

Sassy - I'm so far behind in cleaning, really cleaning, my house! It stays mostly clutter-free, but I need to put some elbow grease into it and get it sparkly. Have fun at your birthday dinner tomorrow.

Mindee - how's the new kitty doing?

Sue - tell your mom we're thinking of her!

Kathy - I can't wait to get the video and give it a try. I was in my early 20's in the disco era, and danced with strobe lights, etc. so this should be fun. Do you have any news you'd like to share with the Jaded Ladies???? Anything we can help you celebrate????

Mindy - yes, actually, the loss was from Monday through Friday, but keep in mind, this is my first week, and I'm quite overweight. Also, I just got done celebrating my birthday, anniversary, and just got back from a vacation, and I really overate at all of these events! Last time I did WW, I lost 8 1/2 pounds the first full week. The next weigh in will be much lower, then I'll settle into a pound or so loss each week, if I do the same as before. The older I get, though, the harder it is to lose. I will have flabby skin, too, when it's all said and done, but if you think about it, flabby skin is no more unattractive than excess weight, and it's much more healthy for us. At least, that's the way I see it.

We had a lite dessert today after Sunday dinner. I made sf/ff banana pudding, with 1/2 banana in each serving, and then sprinkled crushed 1/2 graham cracker onto each serving. Mmmmm, for only 3 points.

I plan to take a nap later, since I was awake with sinus problems in the night. The farmers are harvesting seed corn, and the dust and stuff in the air is driving me crazy. (short trip, Neal said, lol)

TTFN,

Mindy - if you like it here and plan to stay, please fill out a bio when you want to, so we'll know more about you.

Kathy - we need a new, updated bio for you, too, if you want to do one.

Talking Hi Ladies!

Hi Ladies.

Its awful hot here for it being officially fall, its 90 degrees! Phew! Where is our fall weather? lol.

Well DH bought some glue on his way home from work this morning, but he couldn't fix my glasses. He said we could try taking them to the guy who repaired them before -- they completely fell apart before this and he fixed them so this should be easy! Just so I don't have to wear these ugly glasses.

Only thing is I don't know how long it will take him to fix them and we're supposed to go out with friends tomorrow night, for my bday and I don't want to be wearing these ugly things. I know that sounds stupid, but I don't. lol. If I only knew where my contacts were. I had two boxes of disposables and I never did find them when we moved here. So I guess its in a box that we didn't have room for and is either in our closet or in storage. I think later I'm going to see if I can find them.......

to Kathy and Mindy!

Mindee -- OMG I love Calico's. Our neighbor has a beautiful one that sits in her window sometimes. She is simply gorgeous! Glad you had a good time at your parents!

Sue -- Glad to hear that your mom is home, we will continue to keep her and you and your family in our prayers.

Jane -- I was way behind in my cleaning too. My kitchen is sparkling now and I got our dishwasher working again! Next up: the bathroom..... I was going to do it yesterday, only I felt really ill for some reason. I feel fine today, so at least it didn't last!!!!! That dessert sounds good, I'll have to give it a try!

I hope you all are enjoying your Sunday Evening!

Hello Ladies,
I'm new my name is Ellen and I need all the help I can get. Binge eating and compulsive eating I'll eat anything even cereal from the box if nothing is left. I made a decision to get healthy and make good food choices to start. *crosses fingers*
Today was a gorgeous day in Pasadena CA. It rained yesterday and is crystal clear and glorious today..very unusual for us smoggers. My husband and I took two of our dogs for a long walk. I see hope in my future and this site is wonderful. Even though I'm new I see how helpful and comforting it is here.
