Shatzi i commend you---no other cow has managed to break into this herd---and you did it with great finesse---you may have the honourary turkey carcass for a week.

SugP 06-26-2007 03:31 AM

Wheeeeee!

Schatzi rocks my world! :broc:

Yes, we MUST stop this vicious cycle of bad, bad things happening to GOOD cows.:(

Schatzi 06-26-2007 10:40 PM

Yesssssssssss, part of my plan to take over the world involves infiltrating the herd :s: Mooohaha...

Chicken Bones and Turkey Carcasses! we do have a poultry fetish.. eh? Heheeeeeeeeeee, I shall drag the carcass around proudly.

ok so good news... Darbydoo had her stomach staples out..she healed up right as rain...

good news ...DH who should give seminars on negotiations suggested I attempt to wrangle another 5,000 more out of my annual salary... and they agreed... Wheeeeeeeeeeeee! I start the week of July 9th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tomorrow I go get a passport... then a tooth fixed and to the tailors to have my pants shortened and sleeves taken up... why dont they make Weeble clothes :sumo:

Bad news: I was bitten bitten bitten bitten by a bloody Lyme carryin TICK! I ripped him off my gut... and spied 4 bites, with rash... rash got worse... I go to doctor.. doctor takes blood...and puts me on Doxycilin or something like that there... Doctor calls... positive for lymes! :yikes:

good news..we caught it quick and now we will irradicate those horrid lymies with antibiotics...

Schatzi 06-27-2007 01:46 PM

Nobuddys carcass is here but mine..what gives

Excellent!! I'm sure that's a relief; one less worry at least. You do pile them on, though, don't you: lyme disease? Good god I hope that clears up quickly. Bloody lymies.

Great news about your job. Wow, that is coming up quickly. No way will you get a passport in that time, will you? Or is it a renewal? I guess you can pay extra and get an expedited one.

God it's bloody hot here. Of course, no a/c, so I'm just doing what I do best....nothing.

Schatzi 06-27-2007 03:14 PM

OOOOHHHH a COW!! STAY ON LINE!!!

Schatzi 06-27-2007 03:25 PM

Yes, in fact the Vet gave me the # of the manager for Bass Lake.. Apparently Darby hasnt been the only casualty of a fish hook... so I called to add our tale of woe to his book for whatever measures he plans to take with the fisherpeople.. Right now she is all ascared... there is thunder in the distance and she is all a skitter..

Same here Kiwi.. Hot Humid and still... I think celebrities pay big bucks for this kind of spa .. like you I'm in doors but got the AC a balastin!

As far as this lymes thing goes... yes, unfortunately ..BUT AS I STARTED THIS THREAD --NO MORE BAD MOJO FOR MOOMOOS! I like my life to be drama free.. a course it hasnt been that way in a few months...but I have faith that it will become Dull, drab, predictable again...

I filled out the passport on line, printed it out and brought all kinds of documents with me.. had my pic taken ( I notice that my face photographs WORSE then EVER: I have a GOITER... or at least it looks like thats what under my chinnychinchins. And my Eyes look weird- like almondy slitty and far apart with some weird eyeliner on them (I dont wear eyeliner..) and flat hair... CRAP!!! I swore when I looked in the mirror before the pic that I was presentable!!!!!! Anyway.. for an extra $$$ they will "expedite" it and I should get it in 5 weeks..

Kay, all the exxcitement of seeing Kiwiner has my fingers all acramp

Kiwonk 06-27-2007 05:09 PM

Oops, and I went and disconnected. Sorry! My computer is more temperamental than ever lately, and trying to get a website to load sometimes isn't worth waiting and fuming over.

Boy I hear you when it comes to those little full-face photos. You just know the customs people will look at the passport and brace themselves for what they're about to see when they look up at your face. Personally I don't know where all those puffy parts came from on my drivers license; I am a svelte 20 year old and I don't appreciate the camera making me look like a middle aged woman! Hmph.

Uhoh Rosie went silent. I wonder what happened to her. Jet didn't step on her; she's right here under the desk (nice dark cave).

ohferchrissake. what is this? shots gets a job, her life is all upsy hooray daisy and we get a new thread to leave the sh*tjoo behind? well, if i am going to post here, it will be a nasty, complainy thread just like the last one.

Other day, Ds came from Houston on an airplane that was hour and a half late because of a medical emergency. A woman couldn't breath and may have died, the passengers think. It took 22 minutes for help to come because ambulances and fire trucks aren't allowed to sit at airports because of terrorist threats. Sooooo, if there's a terrorist attack at an airport, it will take LONGER to get help there. Bad bad bad.

Right now, Ds is strannnnnded in Memphis. NW airlines had a plane late becasue of a "problem with the crew" and he and everyone else missed their connections and there you are. I am very upset about this and want to yell at NW but everyone else is yelling at them and the lines are busy. All hotels are booked but he found a $45 room close to the airport. The room is icky and catsup stained. NW would supposedly pay up to $125 but those rooms are gone. Tomorrow he's supposed to be going to DC with lcp and I was so looking forward to the picture of them posing with GW Bush.

I'm happy for Shots' success but I REALLY hope Rosie is ok.

Kiwonk 06-28-2007 02:06 PM

Rosie is fine. She had wandered out to the mudroom and tried to swallow a rope. Fortunately she stalled before she choked on it. Silly Rosie, she'll put just about anything in her mouth.

So did DS come home at all? Stop in to deliver some dirty clothes at least? Did you say "did you bring me anything?" :D How did he seem?

I got Jet a cute new toy called an Udder Tug, which she is at the moment trying to chew apart. I have discovered that she only likes chew toys that have some realistic prospect of destroying -- if it's made entirely of indestructible rubber, she's not interested. This one has rope on it, so she's working hard on that.

Well, DD went to work; she's working 1-10 today and 8 am to 10 pm tomorrow, filling in for someone else's shifts. DH went down to his parents' house, so I am home alone without transportation once again. DH caught some huge trout yesterday, so before DD went to work, we had a lunch of the trout he caught a few days earlier. Gotta keep up with all that fish, you know.

I think I'll go take photos of my chairs and my shorts, as requested.

Kiwi

Schatzi 06-28-2007 02:20 PM

 Oh that Rosie!

Darby has only one toy she likes, I think it's actually for cats..its made of hard rubber and she likes to chew on it like gum... Casey has the attention span of a gnat and prefers to interupt my darby play time by stealing the ball. I try to amuse her with a tug toy.. this lasts for 1 minute before she heads for the door looking to just be outside surveying her queendom.

DH is turnin into quite the Fisherman!!!! I'm not too keen on fish.. trout I like...any mild fish... but I dont think I could stomach the head choppin scaling and deboning :fr: Dh use to go out for "blue fish" he brought home a mess of it... it was bluish like they beat them with a club rather than catchin em on a line... Yeech!
Yeah Peachpit, did DS ever make it home?? Or was it a hi ma bye ma kinda thing.

I'm eatin cherries. last week they were $6.99 a lb... this week $1.99...no doubt leftovers from the $6.99 week but who cares..

Bagzz 06-28-2007 03:37 PM

la la la aaaaaaaaaaaaaalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa laee ddeeee dah dee dahhhhhhhh lalalal alaaaaaaaaaaalalalala deee eee ee dah----i don't have much to say so thought i would stop by and sing you a tune

Kiwonk 06-28-2007 05:21 PM

Thanks, it went well with the silly classical pops music on the tv at the moment.

I don't do fish beheading either. If they are gutted and more or less cleaned, I will rinse them off and remove any ickies I don't like and cook 'em, but no thank you to the rest of it.

It's too damn hot here, even after the 2nd big rainstorm in less than a day. Humid and hot. I did not sign up to live in NC; why do you think it was so easy for DH to lure me away from there?

Kiwi

Bagzz 06-28-2007 05:35 PM

He Must Be A Hottie.

Cowpernia 06-28-2007 06:14 PM

DS came home for a few days and it was SO NICE having him here. Isn't it considered true that you really learn what a person's like by traveling with them? Well, if so, DS and LCP are on the make it or break it part of their relationship. His plane this a.m. was late. She bought tickets for a express train to D.C. but laterrrrrr found out they were the wrong tickets and they ended up in New Jersey. He handed her the phone so I could talk to her and she hung up on me. Now, they're on their way in a "quiet cab" of a train I guess (unless they found a yellow quiet cab) and will get in D.C. this evening missing 1/3 of the tour. Will NWA pay for this???????? Says online that 1/10 their pilots called in sick last week. Or is that everyweek?

I like Rosie. Bet she makes no hairballs.

Schatzi 06-28-2007 07:43 PM

NiiiiiceBagz... letsee..that was "In the Goddadadivda Baybee hmmhmmmbummbumm" Groovy!

We had a major Tstorm come through too Kiwi.. Darby was shakin like a leaf.. Casey was snoring.

Cowie... ah young love...she hung up on you? Well thats a fine howdeedoo. ....

Cowpernia 06-28-2007 09:18 PM

I called DS and this lady answered. "Don't Hang UP!!!" she said. DS dropped his phone is some parking lot somewhere he has been and no longer is. She said she'd mail it to us. Today, I carried around a prescription for cholesterol meds and lost it. We is careless.

I beg your pardon, that is my own chunkfest under there. It is whatcha call trick photography -- if you leave out the context, you can't tell how big it is. Now let me assure you if I had not cropped out my dimply knees et al, you would have recognized me.... Also, must remember these are nice flowy shorts, hiding a multitude of sins. And longer than they are wide...

Bagzz 06-29-2007 04:55 PM

i probably already posted this joke, but it is my favourite so here it is---A couple was dressed and ready to go out for the evening.

They turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on the phone line, covered their pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard.

They phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and the couple opened the front door to leave their house. The cat they had put out into the yard scoots back into the house.

They don't want the cat shut in the house because "she" always tries to eat the bird. The wife goes out to the taxi while the husband goes inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, the man in hot pursuit.

The wife doesn't want the driver to know the house will be empty. She explains to the taxi driver that her husband will be out soon. "He's just going upstairs to say goodbye to my mother."

A few minutes later, the husband gets into the cab. "Sorry I took so long," he says, as they drive away.

"Stupid ***** was hiding under the bed. I Had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! Then I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked. I hauled her fat *** downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!"

The cabdriver hit a parked car...

Schatzi 06-29-2007 05:08 PM

AACK :lol3:  that is "hi larry ***!!!"""

Kiwi, I went up to stare at yer fish too. What's with the ruler...is that that "putting into context" photog trickery ye speak of? Heheeeeee... I had most  thoughts thinking of man sausages slabbed up there next to a ruler... :s: (Oh, Geez..I just had to edit to add... Not cut off or anything :fr: but just laid up on the table )

SugP 06-29-2007 06:39 PM

MAN SAUSAGES??? Lined up side by side on the table????:eek:

(I should be shocked, but that kind of reminds me of that Bachelor Party movie. Yes, I have no taste and no shame. And what was Tom Hanks doing in that anyway?)

Kiwonk 06-30-2007 01:03 PM

 You guys are a riot. Yes, the ruler was put there to "prove how long they are" and yes, that was part of the hilarity at dinner last night. We had those 3 large fish and more than a dozen smaller ones. The women got all the big ones... It was a guy thing. I'm just glad we didn't bring the ruler with us.

Love that joke, Bagz. Reminds me of the video of the girl who goes to wait for her date in the car and lets out a few nice loud farts, not realizing there are people in the back seat...

I'm updating my diaryland journal for the 2nd time this week. Reading the NY Times always gets me going.

Kiwi

Bagzz 06-30-2007 02:03 PM

email us the link to dairyland { i still see it that way like it's a cow thing}i bought stuff to make cow earrings and i haven't sent them to anyone yet---if you want a pair ,you have to state whether or not you have pierced ears, and if you are allergic to silver---AND you must state that you really really want the cow-rings because i am lazy and will need some cattle prodding to git going.

Kiwonk 06-30-2007 05:48 PM

Here's my dairy. Public access, y'know.

Wow, I would love cowrings. Can you really make those? Cool. I have silver catrings and zebrings and pewter mooserings and copper bearrings but no cowrings. Sounds mootiful.

It is a gorgeous day here -- breezy enough to blow away the awful bugs, cool but sunny. I like.

DD is waitressing tonight. I hope she does as well as last time she waitressed on a Saturday. She's accustomed to being happy with $7 or $8 an hour. A person could get really spoiled bringing home $100 in their pocket for 5 or 6 hours of work though. The moosey place is kind of pricey (for our area), so tips aren't bad.

Must go beat up some steak.

Kiwi

Cowpernia 06-30-2007 05:57 PM

i have been waiting fow cow earrings for months. Yessss, I want them.

ds is supposed to be back in the US by now and hasn't called. Worry worry worry. Since he lost his cell phone I can only call lcp and it's not the same. She said they wouldn't call while in Canada anyway which was ok but they should be back.

Now, you know I had insurance for one short month. During that time, I had a couple of tests. A CT scan was billed to the insurance company for $7,720. The allowed $566 and paid $416. I had to pay the rest up front. The rest of it will not be paid by anybody. Isn't that sick?????? People without insurance will be expected to .... it is so disturbing.

Bagz, drive over to Niagara Falls and look for DS. Is it far?

Bagzz 06-30-2007 08:31 PM

wait a minute----you had to pay six thousand plus dollars UP FRONT???? ARE YOU SERIOUS???? did you really mean the test cost SEVEN THOUSAND,SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS!!! I NEED YOU TO CLARIFY YOUR NUMBERS BEFORE I HAVE A HEART ATTACK----how the **** could anyone pay that amount of money UP FRONT???? I WOULD BE DEAD BY NOW!!!!

Bagzz 06-30-2007 08:36 PM

I haven't seen SICKO and i will admit we have slow service up here in canada, but it really is looked after by the government-we do have high taxes but i still think it's worth it to pay it and not have to worry about whether or not you can afford a test to see if you have a serious problem. If all you do is elect a president who figures out a way to deliver universal health care, that will be doing a lot----i am sure the insurance companies would be shaking in their boots if they thought they were in any danger--they probably aren't concerned at all---jerks.

Cowpernia 06-30-2007 08:50 PM

Oh, I was so unclear. I paid $150. The rest was not paid and will never be paid. However, if I were uninsured, I would be expected to pay the whole seven thousand whatever. Yes, Canada is much more fabulous in this area . And in others. They have Bagz and Sugar.

Phew! My jaw almost dropped to the floor when I read about the thousands!! But you do wonder where the money comes from to pay the rest when they'd make uninsured people pay it. Makes it seem like the horrendous price is totally fake. I don't know nothin' about the Canadian health system any more. I think you get good enough care , but you have to wait for mooooooonths to see a specialist or have an operation, right Bagziee?? My mother has spinal stenosis where the nerves in the lower back are being squeezed together causing excruciating pain and she has no idea when she'll be getting relief except for a couple of cortisone shots.

:moo: earrings???? Oooooooh, yes please! I have pierced ears and am allergic to silver and nickel (and cats, bunnies and horses). Ear size: petite.

We had an almost kid free weekend: ds11 went to Oma's to stay over night and watch the "Schützenfest" (guys in green suits and hats with guns and beer steins) parade and ds14 went to a year end party at someone's farm and got to sleep in the barn. So we did what any old married couple would do when they're all alone - we went shopping! I got new shoes, dh got a new patio table, lawn fertilizer and a t-bone steak. Wheeee.

And....HAPPY CANADA DAY! to all the fabulous Canadians out there. I almost forgot until yesterday and then I had a friend coming over today and I amost forgot again but then she cancelled so I still have time to make CHERRY PIE!

Cowpernia 07-01-2007 07:38 AM

I just saw Michael Moore being interviewed on tv in front of idiots who were on cell phones and waving to Shirley back home. He said that 24 of the top 25 industrialized nations have national health insurance. The interviewer said she didn't want to get sick in those countries because America has the best doctors. Yes, he agreed, if you work for CNBC, America has the best doctors.

Then he said we should take the thing that Canada does right, France does right, England does right and make our own plan instead of arguing about the things they do wrong.

Sugar, my friend has a Canadian friend who got sick and has a push kind of personality. He insisted they send him to the U.S. Mayo Clinic and they did.

DS is on his way home. Bagzie, you can quit looking for him.

Niagara Falls? How romantic... She is smart not to use the phone out of the US. DD went to Montreal in January and didn't make calls while out of the country, but people called her (including me). She has free incoming calls, so we thought it would be pretty cheap (or maybe free). We couldn't find ANY information on US Cellular's website about it, so we just had to wait until the bill came to find out. We were wronggggggggggggg -- it was really expensive for her just to receive a few calls. She complained and they took the charge off her bill.

True, we MUST do something about health care.

I can't understand how your insurance co, Peachie, can get away with paying so little for that test while the hospital apparently charges so much.

And the uninsured wouldn't be able to pay and the hospital would write it off as a loss. I think possibly this is a profit center somehow  --- I mean I don't know much about finance and accounting, but what other reason would there be for them to charge so much for something that no one will be paying that much for?

I was entirely in favor of single payer health care (government) until recently, when we had the experience of being under a state subsidized insurance program. Since DH is still unemployed we are paying a sliding fee on a program that ensures the unemployed in Maine and I've never seen anything so convoluted and apparently utterly incompetent in my life. Every month or two they make another mistake on our account and change the account number or cancel our insurance or undercharge us or overcharge us or take money back from a provider that they then have to charge here and then there and then give the money back. You don't have one person handling your account, so every time you have a problem (which is pretty much constantly) you talk to a different person and get a different answer. It's unbelievable. So I no longer think government is capable of doing less than making a big mess of health care. I don't know what the answer is. I have heard that one answer is to require everyone to have health insurance in the same way we are required to have car insurance, which would drive rates down. :dunno:

So anyway Happy Canada Day!!!
