Great to see you back Kylie!
Just a quickie today, bad day for food yesterday - went out for dinner and had 5 fried dumplings which were delicious but definitely very high in fat then had a small packet of chips later in the evening. Worked till midnight for the 5th night in a row, am at the office this morning for 3 and a half hours and then I finally get to have a day and a half of weekend. I am so tired today!! Looking forward to an evening spent in solitary splendour :) I need to tidy my flat this afternoon because it looks like a bomb has hit it and then I'm going to relax this evening with a movie and some wine. Hope you all have a great weekend. :twirly: |
Kylie you sound like your in high spirits. Where did you move to? It’s really great to hear from you. :carrot:
I’m down 600g from last weeks weigh in but still up 300g from the week before. :) No real plans for the weekend, anyone else? The last place we lived in went on the market. It's no pleasent having all these strange people wandering around your home, and me being me couldn't leave a mess anywhere, so I was always cleaning. :dizzy: |
Welcome back Kylie. Glad to hear you're doing well, we were wondering!
I had a disaster weigh in - up by 1.7kg!!! No idea why, apart from I did eat quite a lot of rice cakes this week, which are relatively salty. Very bloody depressing. |
oh no Gen.... hang in there, can i say without being saracastic (for real) that maybe it had something to do with the gym?? It is not fat it could maybe be your muscle waking up and weighing more??? It may sound a little stupid but I bet if you measured yourself it would show that your weight gain wasnt fat??
Kylie - everything happens for a reason and I thinkyou are awesome for seeing the things that have happened in your life recently as a reason to concentrate on you, I have friends that sit around and say "life goes on" but dont actually do anything Barb, my loss was similar lost 400g this week but had put on I think 700g last week so it evens out but is annoying! If I was allowed to swear and wasnt pretending to be a lady i would be bleep bleep bleeping right now in regards to my kitchen guy... keeps telling me he will come and finish job HE HAS 2 HOURS WORK TO DO and does not show and does not tell me until 2 hours after he is meant to show... very depressing as my fridge is in the lounge room so we dont have to move it twice on the new floor and one of the cupboards he has to install is going to have lights in it and those lights are on the same circuit as the 2 powerpoints i am waiting for so it is all waiting for this cupboard which means there is one powerpoint in my kitchen in a really stupid spot so technically usuable the kitchen is annoying HO HO HO HO HO HO HUM talking about HO HO HO I cant wait til xmas is over it is so busy and annoying everywhere and I am sick of everyone being so stressed........ pretty excited about xmas myself as BOTH my brothers are in town!! One just got back from 10months overseas and met Jemima and the other is coming home for xmas from Melb and has not seen Jem since she was 6 weeks old so that will be good. my pop is in ICU at the moment just had angina stuff really scary they went to give him triple bypass and ended up having to do 5 bypasses so for 78year old man that sounds pretty hardcore, i hope he will be ok, they are going to wake him up today... everyone have fun wonder where Lindor is on the mountain.?? vonni - does eb like santa??? jemima HATES him and she is a little tart usualy that likes all fellas! |
Gen that can't be possible - 1.7kg in a week has got to be fluid retention, TOM or something else. Don't you give up on us now! Reading between the lines it sounds a little like you're struggling to find your motivation. Is everything OK?
Kel I reckon tradespeople are among the most frustrating in the world. I don't envy you one little bit having to deal with them. Hey Barb - great news about your weight loss! Stay patient and it will all happen for you. Lindor have you run off with a sherpa? What's going on? I had a shocker yesterday in terms of food. I was feeling irritable and at war with the world - so of course I ate everything that wasn't nailed down. How comforting to know that I've learned how to manage my emotional triggers without running to the pantry – NOT! Anyway, I wrote in my journal for an hour this morning and I gave myself a verbal bollocking (as you do :dizzy:), so hopefully I am back on track today. I am expecting the scales to pay me back tomorrow - but it's just a glitch. It aint gonna beat me!!! :) Ani |
I know, it's hideous. I am going to get back into my every second day gym routine next week. Also starting with a new trainer, so hopefully our first session will inspire me with setting new goals. I had got too pally with my old trainer and we talked a lot rather than being thrashed haha. I have to do the exercise to get the eating right, unfortunately. I tried the other way around, and I just don't do it.
By the way Kel, 5 bypasses is not much different to 3 in terms of recovery from the surgery. Hope your pop is okay :) |
I'm here.
Weighing in at a shocking 199.4 pounds! Hey at least it is under 200 :^: I cannot honestly say my heart is here, I hate this time of the year, and when feeling this way, self sabotage is hard to avoid. But the fact that I am here in any sense tells me that I certainly don't want to gain much more! I have abandoned Mt Everest for now. But I will return to attempt it again soon. Right now I am still recovering from the last couple of weeks. My body aches all over, and I feel a little run down. So for now I am going to concentrate on my eating habits again...and water consumption! I have a work Christmas Party that I'd like to avoid (but I am expected to attend) this week. Hopefully that will be it for the 'festive cheer' though. I am considering taking all of next week off and hiding in my flat for the duration. :^: Anyway, enough whinging! Kylie (great to hear you sound so much like your old self again!) and Gen, I am starting 'routine' again with you today too! Everyone else sound as if they are doing well! Barb, it is very inspiring to see you get back onto that wagon again after your little stumble! Ani...you are just awesome with your efforts right now! And I reckon you'll still manage a drop this week! Ok, I gotta run. Have a good day all! :) |
Ah Lindor - at least you're still under 200lb, and that's gotta be a good thing! Come on matey - you know you can do this, and I have a feeling that 2008 is going to be your year.
I refused to weigh in this morning. Last week I weighed in on Tuesday, and I'll do that again this week. I'm in a mood! The landlord came here yesterday and introduced me to the "painter". Both landlord and painter will be here today - painting. With enamel paint. Tarting up the bathroom! So not only will the house be full of toxic fumes, but my housemate and me won't be able to use the shower for "a few days". My housemate has left them a filthy note on the door, telling them all the people she will be reporting them to today. She would tell them herself except she has gone to work. It doesn't matter how much I explained to landlord that she was breaching the terms of the lease, and that she would have to reduce the rent - or find us alternate accommodation for the week, she just smirked at me. You see there is a massive housing shortage in Perth. Massive! And everyone knows it, and people are taking advantage of it. Especially landlords. Never mind that I have a 50-hour week. Never mind that it's Christmas. There are some people in this world who were born with an 'All About Me' gene, and no amount of surgical extraction will change that. Eight more weeks and I am out of here. I've postponed my holiday to see mum, because there's no way I would trust the landlord to not let potential buyers in while I'm away. :tantrum: Sorry for the rant - but I am furious. So much so that I've been up since 4am because I couldn't sleep! Weight loss this week? That'd be a miracle! |
Just a quicky before I head out, read all posts... ho ho ho looks like everyone is loving but hating christmas.
Kel Ebony likes santa from afar............ far afar lol. She will wave and smile and yell hello but get close and I'm torn to bits. lmao. We sort of got a photo yesterday at Myer. He was the BEST santa ever I have seen, looked like the real santa claus. He even had a red bulbous nose. Will check in with all later Vonni xxx |
Ani, that's not legal. If I were you, I'd apply to the tenancy tribunal for a rent reduction. Regardless of the rental situation, landlords are not allowed to break the law (or the lease). Just tell her unless she comes up with a rent reduction, you'll do it yourself when rent is next due.
Definitely call your tenancy tribunal and ask what they think - do it now! |
Great minds think alike - I rang them this morning and then phoned the landlord. We have 'amicably' agreed to put it off for two weeks. At least with two weeks notice we can make some arrangements to not be here if necessary.
This is stress I do not need! |
Oh dear Ani I feel for you. Thats just not fair is it? So do you have to pay rent for the time you are NOT THERE because the reason you are not there is for them? How rude like, don't use the shower. How can you not shower for a few days? bloody ridiculous I say. There is a housing shortage everywhere. I am stressing cause our lease is up in february and i hope they renew it. We already have been renewed once and the rent went up $15. So will probably go up again, but if so I am going to approach the owner and ask to go private with him rather than a real estate. Our real estate as of January will no longer be accepting cash in there office. All rent needs to be paid at the bank or via internet. And we have to drop in from time to time to collect receipts. how is that? Can't they afford 50 cents a week to post it? They want to become a cashless office. Maybe I should have done the real estate course I was looking at. I was going to specialise in property management. And don't do ANY sales. Or at least a very few select ones.
Good luck Ani with the sale saga. Hope they realise that they should be good to you. or you can accidently on purpose point out any flaws in the house to prospective buyers, or even make up a few. heheh |
Weighed in this morning and I stayed the same… better than gaining though!
I'm not going to mind too much if I maintain until after New Year. Of course I would prefer to lose a little more, but this part of the year is always a challenge. :) Ani |
I reckon the same thing Ani, I was thinking next week is almost the BIG test.... lets all just aim to maintain for Xmas week and then be TYPICAL and BORING and have New Years Resolution to lose weight heheheehe at least for a few weeks we will have heaps of other people to support us until they all give up and we keep going.
There will have to be a new thread Aussie Chicks 2008..... does anyone elses computer seem to hate getting to the new posts?? My computer hates 3 fat chicks.... i am hoping with new thread it finds it easier.... kitchen dude is here now.... but so is his 14month old child... trashing the place..... ho hum... i want kitchen finished so i am biting my tounge but just thinking that i have a friend coming over tonight with a 14 month old and a 4 week old and that i am going to have to run around after him too is draining... my house set up for 10month old JUST not 14month old yet and i shouldnt have to change my house for other peoples children - thats what i think anyway |
Kel I usually bookmark the current Aussie Chicks page, and just go straight to it. But we will start a new one for 2008 (and if we don't, the Moderators will lock this thread anyway).
I've already set my goals for 2008 (can't have us being typical and boring now ;)), and I'm ready to get started with them. I won't post them until the end of the year though. So what is everyone doing for Christmas? I think I'm the only person in the western world who has no plans! :) |
