Is it possible to retain a whole 2kg of fluid? :dunno: Over the weekend I weighed 2kg more than the week before. It’s slowly coming down this week, I’m still 500g heavier than last weeks weigh in of 96.1. Sometimes I really wish I wasn’t a girl! :dizzy:

Congrats Ani your doing so well, makes me proud. :yay::congrat:

Well done Gen. A high distinction! :woohoo:

Don’t you just love it when things like that happen Julia! Makes it all seem worthwhile when someone notices, and even spurs you on a bit more. :flow2:

Kel, what about the gym, or you could put your cross trainer inside. A skipping rope’s good. I don’t skip, all that jumping up and down hurts my boobs! I do laps of the house, in through the dining room, around the lounge and back again when it’s too hot here! Makes me dizzy though! :dizzy:

Vonni, I agree with Ani. You need breakfast. I never used to eat it either but now I feel sick if I don’t. With the water thing, why don’t you leave a jug or bottle somewhere that you go past regularly and have a mouthful every time you pass it. I leave a jug on the kitchen bench and grab a glass when I go past. Usually by around 3.00 I’ve had my 2 litres. :)

I’m still aiming for 95kg by Christmas. I was looking at my diary and this time last year I was 4kg lighter. :(

Oh, sorry for the post on Saturday (was it Saturday or Friday, I don’t know!) I must be pre menstral!!

I'll dig up a fat photo of me and try to get it online for you all next week :)

Ditto on the advise to have breakfast Vonni. Over the last week I've been having bircher muesli and I love it. I just put some in a bowl and cover with water before I go to bed, it soaks over night and is ready to go in the morning. I put a pottle of lite yoghurt over it and it's delicious.

Is it that TOM Barb? It does mess up the body pretty royally for many of us so 2kg of fluid retention probably is quite possible. Keep at it mate ;)

barbegirl71 12-11-2007 08:12 PM

No quite Julia, it's due next week. Seems the older I get the worse the symptoms become. I've gone from having none to the whole spectrum of em! Come on menopause!! :D

PerthChick 12-11-2007 08:28 PM

Barb it's definitely possible to retain 2kg of fluid. It happens to me if I eat salty food and don't drink enough water. It can also happen if you're stressed, sick - if there's a sudden increase in temperature outside…

I know that I'll gain a kilo just from not drinking enough water for a couple of days.

barbegirl71 12-11-2007 08:32 PM

Hardly seems fair does it!

I think Lindor must be stuck up Mt Everest somewhere....

Most of you sound like you're doing okay - although Kel, I don't think pizza is in the calorie plan? Are you actually counting calories, I forget.

I am weighing in at WW, but I'm not actually tracking points properly, so it's no wonder I haven't lost more weight like I did at the start of the year when I counted every bite! I just can't face it at the moment.. which is funny because I'm working waaay less than I was then, and I made time to do it then. I think it's something to do with moving home with the parents and turning back into a useless teenager. Haha.

Ani, they are completing a background check (got a new company that does them, so they had to repeat the one I just got done in Sep!) which they said at the end of November would take about a month, then they have to negotiate my "salary requirements" lol. At the moment, my requirement is to HAVE a salary!

Must say though, my achilles is WAAAAAAYYYY better after basically taking a month off work. I've been a good girl with my stretching and heating pads, rubbing in the cream etc and it's so much less sore. Hope it doesn't stuff up when I go back to work!

smylie 12-12-2007 12:32 AM

working overseas would be awesome, going overseas again would be awesome....

barb - you are right..... i cant believe i forgot that i own a cross trainer..... it is undercover out the back, there is NO reason why i cant go out when jem is asleep and use it (my gym membership frozen for the month my trainer away - i need a break from going out early in the morning especially since that is jem's new nap time - she wakes at 5 for 2 hours then naps for sometimes 2ish if she is left be)
thank you barb really i had totally forgotten about making a gym at home, i am going to do some incidental exerccise first though getting the house tidy again, i have totally been on strike since the kitchen has depressed me

big storm right now so i better hop off computer...... i guess...

smylie 12-12-2007 05:41 PM

:carrot: i only deserve one carrot, funniest thing ever weighed myself bright and early and was 87.7 or something equally depressing and gross, then went back to bed and told myself that I knew that would happen yadda yadda yadda THEN got up went to the toilet and weighed again (i usually count any weigh in before 11am...)
AND i am 86.3kg
not going to push it and going to celebrate
LOSS OF 400GRAMS yippeee:dizzy:

Hello ladies

Good idea Kel about unearthing your cross trainer. Put it somewhere that you can see it so that you will be more likely to get on it!

Gen I'm the same with weight watchers at the moment. I was counting points of absolutely everything that passed my lips but I'm just so over it right now that I'm not counting any points at all, just trying to eat healthily and keeping a food diary without recording points. So far it's fine, partly due to the fact that I'm now working at night at not sitting on my arse eating!

Had a great session at the gym last night. I haven't been doing any running for extended lengths of time lately so got back into that last night by doing 20 minutes running, 10 minutes walking, 10 minutes running. I was absolutely dripping by the end of it but felt great and proud that I can still do it :cheer2:

i almost cant wait to get back to the gym where i think i will do cardio after every class, i love that sweaty i'm working out feeling!

hubby has just bought a new car... we cant afford it but hey he deserves it... it is an old mercedes so FINALLY he will be driving a decent car! no more dero commodores, no more lowered jap jap cars! he is bringing it home tonight - cant wait!

YAAAAYYYY:D I finished my Christmas shopping today!! I'm usually doing it Christmas eve! Now the wrapping begins.

I'm doing well this week. I'm hoping to get back to two weeks ago's weight.

Between Christmas and New Years I've decided to indulge a little but not too much, but once its all over its back on the wagon!

I interviewed Natalie Gauci today - the winner of Australian Idol. She is one of the loveliest people I've met in ages.

Can't say I've been too well behaved with my food today. In the last three days the landlord has been here EVERY day, getting the house ready for sale. It's really reinforcing that this isn't 'mine', and I'm getting restless to move.

She's coming back on Sunday and Monday to paint inside bits and pieces… and then there'll be home opens. Don't know how I'm meant to run my business under these circumstances.

Challenging weeks ahead for me. First I have to go home in January and spend time with my family (most of whom have nothing to do with me because of their strong Christian disapproval of who I am) - and then I have to come back, start packing and plan my move to the new place.

Then I get to set up house/business and menagerie in a whole new place.

Little wonder I'm in a mood!

LittleKiwi 12-13-2007 04:19 PM

Ani I really feel for you being so unsettled at the moment. My Christmas wish for you is that you find a nice place where you can live ALONE! Not likely perhaps but you never know.

Well done Barb on finishing your shopping. It's a great feeling isn't it? I thought I was done but just found out that my sister's boyfriend's daughter is coming to spend Christmas with us so I'll have to get her something as she's only about 7 years old and it would be sad for her to have nothing from me when I'm giving my niece and nephew lots of presents.

Kel I love that feeling too - getting all sweaty from a workout is awesome! Did it again last night ... did my weights followed by 20 minutes running at intervals of 1 minute jogging at a speed of 8.0 and 30 seconds of running at a speed of 9.6. I finished off with a 30 second burst at 10.4 and then hit the floor for some abs before showering and shooting off to my second job.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning as the few friends that I do have always seem to be out socialising and doing stuff while I hardly ever get invited places and even if I did I'm working so damn much at the moment I probably couldn't go anyway. Woe is me :(

Thank God It's Friday is all I have to say ... work tonight then 3 and 1/2 hours in the morning and I have a whole day and a half free to loll about doing nothing. Bliss!

Ani, you are only required to provide "reasonable" access when your place is being sold - most agents agree that this means once a week. Otherwise, I hope you're getting your rent reduced in exchange for the inconvenience!

Elerine 12-14-2007 06:30 AM

Hi everyone!

Sounds like everyone is busy in the lead up to Chrissy. I've settled into my new flat on the opposite side of Adelaide. It's only temporary until I get a new place in January though. I have a new job, that pays much better than woolies does, and it's great conditions, hours etc.

I feel like I've got myself sorted out, so I can start to concentrate on 'me' things, like weightloss, and not life things, like breaking up and moving house. So I got a haircut, I'm getting some new clothes, and I'm back on the bandwagon!

Woohoo! I'll weigh myself on Monday to make things official, but I'm pretty sure I've kept around the same weight. I'm still coming to Perth, Ani, so maybe I can help you lift some stuff!

I hope everyone is doing well - I missed you all. Take care

Kylie
