Weight Loss and Chitchat #250.

Hello and :welcome2: to the Jaded Ladies site!

We are a group of ladies that come here for support and encouragement on our weight loss struggles, and we also find time for some chitchatting. :gossip: So please, won't you join us? New members are always welcome.

Jane~ Well, the day was going well, until I got busy doing something and left Brandon unattended for a second. He got into the dish soap and dumped it all over the lap top. So, Tommy had to go to the store and buy a new keyboard that hooks into the USB port. On top of that, he calls me at about 3:30 and says that he has been laid off due to a mass lay off through the company that basically runs his work. He has an option of going to one of the other shops. One being in Texas, which we don’t have the money to move to, and the other two options being here in Michigan. And to add more to our plate, as if it wasn’t cramped enough, rent is due and they told Tommy that if we don’t pay it by the 15th then basically we will be evicted. So, we have been trying to see what we can do in order to figure out where we go from here. Due to him getting laid off, we no longer have his work insurance. He is going to call the lady about trying the other two shops here in MI. If he can’t get into those, then he has been looking at other options. A cousin of his is supposedly looking for someone to help him. So, that basically covers every thing on this end. So, if you could just keep us in your prayers during this time that something good comes out of all this craziness.

Sue~ Thanks for the congrats. They have been helpers, but they mostly like to keep a close eye on sister. And by close eye, I mean they like to literally stand right over her and watch her. I have been getting some rest, but it seems like a couple hours here and a couple there.

4amy 05-01-2007 08:47 AM

Its been a while since i've been here and i had a little trouble catching up.Wow.mindee congratulations!I missed marrissas arrival!!she is adorable!!

I have finally gotten off the plateau and i have a 3lb loss this week.i am very happy with that.
Hi to everyone, hope everyone is doing great!:carrot: :carrot:

Jane 05-01-2007 10:12 AM

Hello ladies,

Sue - before I ever sat down to the computer today, I had it in my notes to ask about you. I've missed your posts, and wondered where you were. I'm sorry you had some hectic stuff going on, and I'm glad it's over, or at least better. About my weight loss, don't be too quick to congratulate me because I'm losing weight that I already lost 3 years ago, then regained. I guess I should be glad I didn't regain it all, but I sure got close to that. Now I'm 3 years older, and my skin has even less elasticity. <sigh> About the Indiana taxes, I guess you saw where they went up only 8% instead of 14%. Always something to be thankful for, I guess.

Jodi - I just don't know how some people can afford to pay such high taxes. Lots of elderly on fixed incomes have had to sell out and move to senior housing. It's just too sad.

Sassy - thanks for the salad info. We don't have that chain around here, but it's something I could probably improvise myself. I'd leave off the tortilla shell, though, since there are so many calories in that. It sounds really good!

Marti - yay on your 1 1/2 pounds gone! See, you did better than you thought! What a nice surprise, right?

Mindee - aww, I'm so sorry you're having so many troubles, and you can be sure you and your family are in my prayers. HUD may be able to help you, or at least call a local church and they will be able to guide you to some emergency funding.

Amy - yay for the 3#s down!

A big hello to Vann, Tammy, Cristina, Jules, Mary Kate, PinkJane, Jen, Carol, and anyone else reading this.

I'm still OP, but have to admit my calorie choices yesterday weren't the best as far as nutrition goes. I had some stress going on of my own, and swapped some healthy food for some comfort food. At least I didn't go over in calories.

I was up late last night doing more scrapbook pages. I did the ones of Neal's and my trip to Chicago last fall, and it took up 5 pages! The most time was spent on getting them all coordinated, planned and laid out. I'll have a new project to scrapbook after tomorrow because.......

Jackson will be here tomorrow! Say a little prayer that mama and baby will be ok, would you? And that my son doesn't faint during the c-section.

Toodles!

Katiecat 05-01-2007 04:45 PM

Just a quick pop in...

Mindee, congrats on your new baby girl! And good thoughts and prayers for you that Tommy finds work again right away. You don't need that stress right now...

Jane, great talking to you today :D Good thoughts and prayers for mama and baby Jackson tomorrow. You all must be so excited!

Sassy, that salad sounds so good...my favorite salad place here is called Orbits, in the mall -- you tell them what kind of greens you want, and 6-7 toppings (red bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots, apples, walnuts, raisins, and crumbled blue cheese are usually my favorites -- the blue cheese is a splurge, but they only put on a little, and it adds a lot of flavor) and then they toss it right there for you. Good stuff!

Hi to the newbies, and the rest of the Jaded Ladies  Gotta run, meeting a friend for coffee today...

PinkSands 05-01-2007 08:45 PM

Good Evening Ladies:wave:

Hubby is back on the road on his way to Jersey LOL...we had gorgeous weather for the weekend it was clear and 90, it's about time LOL...we spent Sat running around Des Moines, did his laundry on Sun and spent Mon in Des Moines again getting his physical done and his grocery shopping...today was relatively quiet...gonna make myself a turkey burger and watch Deadliest Catch tonite...Have a Good Evening All

Mindee - Sorry to hear about the layoff, keeping positive thoughts that he finds another job quickly

Jane - Keeping Jackson and Mommy in my prayers

Amy - Congrats on the 3 lbs

Pink Jane

suetalks 05-01-2007 10:26 PM

Quick stop by especially for:

Jane-
Sending good vibes and lots of love for Jackson's arrival.
Let us know something as soon as you can.

Got in a walk again today. Had a good report on the blood tests. Life is good!

Sassy_Chick 05-01-2007 11:36 PM

Thanks all.

Yeah I figured you all could just make it at home, but they said the description on their website so I copied it and pasted it and I figured you girls could fix your salad however you wanted. At the restaurant you can have it however you want it as they make it right there in front of you and that is what I like, so you can have what you want. ;)

Today I did do lots and lots of walking, I guess "technically" it is not considered exercise but at any rate I did a lot of it. We took my mil to see the Titanic Exhibit and took her out for the day, this was her early Mother's day present, we had to do it early as the exhibit leaves soon.

Hope you had a great day.

;)

tommysgirl18 05-02-2007 12:21 AM

Hello everyone!

Tuesday turned out to be a much better day then Monday was. Tommy got a call from one of the ladies from one of the two shops here in MI. So, he did a conference call with her and the shop manager. She called him back and said that he was good to go and could he start on Wednesday. So, that part is taken care of….and so is the rent. We were having issues with how we were going to get that paid so that we wouldn’t get evicted and thankfully we figured something out.

Amy~ Thanks for the congrats and the nice comments on Marissa! She is changing every day. She now has chubby cheeks and she is not wanting a bottle of formula which is a good thing, because I am trying to get her to take to breast feeding. So far every thing is going great! I think Wednesday night I will jump on the scale and then jump on with her to try and gage how her weight is doing. She was 6lbs. 8oz when we took her to the pediatrician’s office last Friday. She is doing great with the breast feedings. She only gets mad if she pulls herself off and can’t get back on. Yay for the three pounds gone!

Jane~ Thanks for the prayers, they worked! There is a light at the end of the tunnel for sure now. I will definitely say a prayer for your daughter-in-law, grandson and son. Good luck to your son!!

Katiecat~ It is good to hear from you! Thanks for the prayers. Tommy is actually going to the main shop of the company that he was working for. So, there will be no lapse in his insurance or anything like that. It will be a longer commute for him but hey, at least it is work, right? Our lease is up here at the end of October, so who knows we might move out there closer to his job. (Keeping my fingers crossed that he will still be working there)

Pink Jane~ Thanks for the nice words.

Marti 05-02-2007 12:25 PM

Good Morning ladies--

Jane--Here is a hug for Gina! So happy Jackson will be arriving today!! Please post a photo of the first grandson in your family. I'm sure he's going to be beautiful.

Mindee--Marissa is beautiful. Do you happen to have a larger photo other than your advatar? My aging eyes just can't see her as much as I would like to.
Happy to hear that everything is going alright and you're not getting evicted. How scarey with three wee ones!

Sassy--Walking is walking! And any event you attend can come along a lot of walking. So I would count it. I've heard of a Titanic exhibit around here...I believe in the Portland OMSI. I missed it when it was here, but my daughter got to go. She got a ticket and she was one of the "survivors". I'm a history buff on some things and I just love to learn about stuff like that. Hope you had tons of fun.

PinkJane--What does your hubby do? My husband left last night out of town. He's an train engineer and travels back and forth from one city to the other. He's gone two days when he leaves and then he's here for however long it takes to call him back out. We've had gorgeous weather here too. LOVE the sun!

Sue--Glad your blood work came back good. I think every year now I will have my blood work checked. Just to keep me aware of how I'm treating my body. Gives me a reality check!

MaryKate--Hello!! How is your arm doing? Salad sounds good. We don't have anything like that around here that I know of...I will have to check this area out a little more though, we might I may just not know about it!

Amy--Great job on 3lbs lost!! Don't worry about trying to catch up....I've been gone and busy myself and it's hard to catch up!! Pop in again soon.

Hello to everyone else out there. Sorry if I didn't get to you personally. I'm just catching up w/the new thread....to many old ones to go back to.

Today is my Friday!!:carrot: I had scheduled tomorrow and Friday off weeks ago, thinking that this was when I would be moving and needing time to get things together. Well heck....I'm already moved and settled....so I'm using these days to enjoy the house and do some yard work!! I think I'll go to one of the nurserys and buys some hanging flowers.

Ok...I need to hit the shower and get ready for work. Have a great day ladies!

sz2atheart 05-02-2007 04:45 PM

Afternoon Ladies!!

Jane--Hopefully little Jackson has arrived by now. I hope Gina does well and that your new little grandson is healthy. Congrats to your son.

Mindee--I'm glad that Tommy got a job so quickly. I went through a similar thing 21 years ago. My ex was hurt on a job and was on disability a few days after I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. It was an extremely stressful time. I also had a 13 mo old at home and I was only working part time. But things do seem to work out!!

Amy--Congrats on the 3 lb loss!!

Sue & Jane--I hear ya about the taxes going up. Here in MD we have had a freeze on our gas & electric bills for over 10 years and as of June 1 our bills will go up 50% and then another 50% the following Jan. That's right, my bill will double in size. Right now I pay almost $300 a month. I have a 4000 sz ft house and have already shut off the vents in some of the rooms that we don't use much. Just think, I wouldn't have to use a "lipo in a box" to squeeze in my rolls, I could just afford the real lipo if my electric bills weren't so high!!

Sassy--your salad sounds yummy. My favorite salad is a grilled chicken, spinach/strawberry salad. Could eat it every day!!

Marti--Congrats on your weight loss. You must have been working your butt off with the move.

Big hello to Pink Jane, Cristina, Vann, Jules, Carol, Marykate and anyone else I missed.

Tonight is my dance night. I'll try to dance more than I eat lol!! I'm seriously thinking about joining WW on Monday. I can't seem to get motivated enough on my own and putting out the $$ seems to make me more accountable. I got on the scale and it hasn't moved a bit in over a month. I haven't gained but also haven't lost. Wish me luck. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

Jane 05-02-2007 05:32 PM

Jackson Everett is here! He was 10 days early, yet still 8 pounds, 7 oz. and 22 inches long! He and momma Gina are fine. Gina did have some problems with extra bleeding that they had trouble controlling while still in the OR, but after 9 extra stictches, she's ok now. My son is in awe! He keeps saying "This doesn't seem real!" and can't get the smile off his face. Jackson is absolutely beatiful, and I cried when I met and held him. Thank you to those of you who wished us well. I'll be tied up off and on for a few days, but will check back in when I can.

PinkSands 05-02-2007 08:37 PM

Good Evening Ladies:wave:

Just got off the treadmill and thought I would check in real quick...nothing much goin on around here today just puttered around...Hubby is in Philly for the nite, delivers at 3 am in Jersey...the boy is off tomorrow and Friday so no taxi service for a couple days LOL...well have a Good Evening All

Mindee - Great to hear Tommy got another job quickly

Marti - Hubby is an OTR driver, he drives the Midwest and up and down the east coast

Tammy - Good Luck and have fun dancing

Jane - Congrats and Welcome to Jackson:welcome3:

suetalks 05-02-2007 10:43 PM

Jane- Congrats to you and your family. I hope Gina continues to recover nicely. Anxious for pictures!

Pink Jane- You sure do a good job on the treadmill. Yay for 2 days of no taxi service. :) (I remember those days)

Tammy- Have fun dancing and NOT eating. haha... What type dancing do you do, ballroom? Just wondered since that is getting very popular now. I can't remember the last time we danced. Never were very good at it, but had fun.

Marti- Sounds like you are enjoying your new house. Have fun on your days off. I was relieved about my blood work, even though I do it yearly. I am on meds that can affect the liver, among other things, so they test regularly. No problems!

Amy- Way to go on the 3 pounds...at this point I would be glad for any loss.

Sassy- I agree, walking of any kind is a plus. And that salad does sound wonderful.

Mindee- Whew! I am glad Tommy was able to go to the other job quickly. Sounds like Marissa decided she wanted mommy's milk..good for her. Hope you are not over doing it....hard not to with three little ones I am sure.

Katiecat- Good to see you again..hope you can come back soon.

Cristina- Where are you? Hope all is well.

Vann, Jules, Jen, Carol.....and all other JL's..thinking of you.

I didn't walk today and I'm not sorry. LOL... I am sore just from washing windows, but boy am I glad they are done. The shop windows were so hard to get to due to DH's tools and wood storage. Love the tilt in windows, just wish we had fewer. I also did laundry and moved some furniture, so I think I got a work out. DH built 2 flower boxes and I got to unload the paving bricks out of the truck..oh, hey, weight lifting. Another plus! Buying some more shrubs and flowers tomorrow and hope to get them in the ground before it rains.

Hope you all had a happy hump day....

Bandmom1011 05-02-2007 10:45 PM

congrats Grandma Jane- I am so happy for your family.

tommysgirl18 05-03-2007 01:36 AM

thanks ladies for the words of encouragement. things will tight money wise around here for a little bit, but thankfully we have plenty of diapers for Marissa, and we have some for the boys. If we need any for the boys, it would just mean making a trip up to my parents house since she has tons of the size that they wear.

Congratulations Grandma Jane!!! I can't wait to see a pic of him!

Marti~ Let me see if I can find a bigger or better picture of her for you to see. I could of swore that I posted some pics on the last thread of her but it could just be the sleeplessness catching up to me.

hello to every one else....how are you all doing? I am trying to make this quick so that I can hopefully get some sleep tonight.....not counting on getting much since Marissa likes to eat every two hours on the dot unless she had a bottle at her last feeding, then it is every four hours. she is doing great, she is only getting a bottle or two during the day...all the other times she is hooked to Mommy's diner.

FrouFrou 05-03-2007 01:22 PM

Nothing much to say.

CONGRAT'S Jane & family!

HI to everyone else.

Chat later

Marti 05-03-2007 01:46 PM

Good afternoon ladies!

I have today off and I do have some things that need to be done, but I'm totally taking my time getting ready to go do them! :D I'm still in my sweats and slippers.

Tammy--Hope you had a blast at your dance night! What fun. I've never been to any dance beside school dances back in highschool....I wasn't very good then either so thankfully, they always kept the light down low. Don't be discouraged if the scale isn't moving. You say it hasn't gone up...so it's really a good thing. Maybe revamp the things you do or eat to help get over that plateau.

Jane--Hurray Jackson is here!!! So happy for you and Terry & Gina! Take your time and enjoy that little boy....come back when ever you feel ready. Hugs!

PinkJane--My hubby was a trucker before he started working for the railroad. What is up w/the boys working at such jobs that takes them away from us??

Sue--I SO need to wash my windows in this house. The front window is the size of the whole wall. It's a beautiful window and I love it....but the thought of having to wash it.... :faint:

Jodi--How are you doing? Come back to chat more when you can.

Mindee--I went back to the other thread and didn't see any photos.....so I'm just going to sit back and wait for ya. :) From what I can see though....she's a beauty!

Cristina--Hello! Come back when you have more time.

Hello to all the other gals out there.

Ok...I think I should really get myself out and busy doing things so I can use the rest of the day to do NOTHING. :D Great plan isn't it??

Have a great day ladies.

sz2atheart 05-03-2007 02:25 PM

Hello Ladies!!

I was allowed to go on-call today because we only had two pediatric patients. Lucky for me cause I am going to a beach festival this weekend. I only live about 2 hr from the coast and each year Ocean City has a Springfest to kick off the season and then a Sunfest in late Sept to end the summer season. It's a huge affair with crafts, entertainment and, of course, food. We have friends who have a vacation home there. Being off today has allowed me to pack my things, run to Kohls and do some laundry. I'm waiting for the phone to ring any moment saying I have to do the last four hours of my shift from 3-7. It won't be a biggie if I do have to go in to work. I already have everything done.

To answer the dance questions. I do country line dancing. But it's not only country. Last night we learned a salsa dance and we do a lot of latino, irish and light rock. It used to be all country but people started choreographing popular songs to dances and it has taken off. We still do country, couple dancing, swing, two-step etc. I was never a very good dancer but this I love. Some of the dances you would swear you were doing aerobics!! It's a great form of exercise. I met my hubby there and the rest is history. While we both have other hobbies and interest, this is something that we do together every week. We even been on two dance cruises to the Bahamas!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I know that I will!!

Marti 05-03-2007 09:03 PM

Good Evening ladies..

I just got finished walking. Gotta get myself used to doing that again. I'll thank myself later when I'm down a few more pounds and feeling loads better.

Tammy--I think any kind of dancing would be considered great aerobic exercises! I think all we got around here are clubs and I'm just getting too old for that kind of thing. And what a great bonus meeting your hubby there!!

How is everyone else doing? Hope you've got better weather than we do here. It's pouring down.....suppose to clear up by Saturday. I don't mind snuggling on the couch w/the pups though so what ever it decides to do.

Ok....I'm going to clean up a bit and give DD a call.

Have a great night and I'll chat more tomorrow.

Hugs to you all!

suetalks 05-03-2007 09:44 PM

Quickie here...I am pooped tonight. This landscaping is getting me down. But, it is looking good, so I will just keep my dragging butt working and it will be done one day soon. LOL. Took Mom to the Dr. and to get meds. at Wal Mart..then off to Home Depot looking for a certain shrub. After coming home and then going 2 other places...finally found a flowering almond. Bought lots of ornamental grasses, 2 almonds, jasmine and some annuals. We got all but 2 things planted. Now if DH gets some river rock tomorrow the front of the porch and the back bird feeding area will be done. As soon as everything takes off and/or blooms I will take photos.

Hi to everyone...be back tomorrow. I have an 8:30 dental appt. for a filling repair...ugh. I think the rest of the day is free...but will probably get roped in to unloading rocks. :) Hope to go buy a couple trees...if DH is ready to plant them. :rain: expected...so we will see.

PinkSands 05-03-2007 10:26 PM

Good Evening Ladies:wave:

CSI just went off so I thought I would pop in here...it rained all day and the 7 day forecast calls for rain every day...oh joy LOL...Hubby called he's on his way to London, Kentucky which he says is only 50 miles from Toad Lick LOL....TOM finally finished and I weighed this morning and am down another pound...got my 60 on the treadmill in before CSI came on, so just gonna sit and watch some tv before bed, have a Good Evening All.

Mindee - Hope you were able to get some sleep

Marti - I think it bothers him more then me but as soon as the boy gets his license I'll be going on the road with Hubby

Tammy - Have a Great Weekend at the beach

Sue - Oh I hope you have a pain free repair

PinkJane

tommysgirl18 05-04-2007 01:45 AM

Hello everyone!

Well, the sleepless nights will be around here for sure now! Brandon woke up with his croupy sounding cough tonight. So, right now he is sleeping on the couch, which looks like where I will be sleeping. That way I know that Tommy is guaranteed to get some sleep in order to go to work feeling somewhat replenished. Then after Brandon woke up and came out onto the couch, I heard Logan coughing from in their bedroom. So, if the coughs are still around on Friday evening then it will probably off to the prompt care we go. Then probably to Wal-Mart to get any prescriptions that they need filled. Either way, we will have to make it to Wal-Mart since I just called in my refill on my prenatal vitamin.

Marissa is doing great! Brandon and Logan are doing great as well. Thursday was a rough day for all of us. I know Brandon didn’t take a nap, and I am not sure if Logan took one or not. Brandon went into their bedroom and was playing while I was feeding Marissa. All of a sudden I heard a big crashing noise and then he started crying. I laid Marissa in the bassinet and ran into the bedroom. I opened the door and saw the dresser on the ground but couldn’t see him, I could hear him crying but couldn’t see him. I ran to the dresser, and he was caught under the dresser. It was pinning his right arm and shoulder under it, so I picked up the dresser long enough to get him out from under it. I made sure it wasn’t broken or anything, and had him move it for me while I was getting him settled down. Thankfully it isn’t broken or anything, but I did notice some scratches on the left side of his back and arm.

Marti~ Okie dokie….give me a second to figure it out on here and I will get some shots posted, as long as you ladies don’t mind of course!

Tammy~ Back when I was in junior high school, I took a country line dancing class. I was the only one that was young in that class. It helped a lot because my dad’s (and now also Tommy’s) lodge does dinner dances from time to time, so when we would go to them we used to do some of the dances that I learned or one of the other lodge guys taught every one.

Pink Jane~ I was able to get some sleep last night, but tonight might be another story. I am hoping that whatever the boys have, will be something that will be gone soon. I am not sure about Brandon’s croupy cough though. He always seems fine and then boom he goes to bed and it flares up. I am thinking that it also has something to do with his asthma, if not both.

and for your viewing pleasure.....here are some pictures.

Well I did a disappearance act here. :P I was kinda floundering and then I had a family emergency and had to take off to LA for a few days. I'm back on program tho. And I was down .5 a pound. :) So I'm at my lowest but really not as good as I should've been by now. But I won't beat myself up about it. It's just good with everything that happened that i didn't gain 10 pounds. :) My daughter had some problems and needed me. So I went down and got it straightened out. Today I must do bookwork and through this weekend too. It's raining here...yuck!

Mindee - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so excited for you! What a beautiful baby girl. And I came in right towards the end of your stressful job situation...so I'm happy that it turned out the way it did! Hang in there.
And I LOVE those pictures...your boys look so happy to have a baby sister...

Jane - Congrats to YOU too on Jackson! :) So many babies! Very exciting! I'm glad the baby and mother are healthy!

PinkJane - I am still a taxi too...for 2 of my kids. My 16 yr old does have his license and it's both a hassle and a relief at times. haha..he actually backed into a car at school the other day...so we're now dealing with that issue.

Sue - I know about landscaping.. :) my DH loves to buy plants and add to our forest in the backyard. ;) We had quite a few die due to frost this winter and had to replace some. But I hear that they might've came back...but hey looked so bad we yanked them out anyway...haha

Sorry If I didn't get a personal note to all of you. I got so far behind. I"ll try to keep up now. ;) I'm just in GREAT need of support. This is the point where I believe normally I would go off and back to my OLD ways and regain all the weight i've lost back again. So don't want that to happen. :P I really need to check in and weigh in weekly....JODIE...haha..I didn't get there this week. So I'll be there on MONDAY>..Thanks ladies! Have a great day today Rain or Shine! haha!

Tina

FrouFrou 05-04-2007 03:00 PM

Hello ladies...

MINDEE...great pictures of the family! Marissa is a cutie pie for sure.

MARTI...I love big picture windows! I just love a house with lots of windows period, lol. How are you loving your new home?

SUE...we are getting ready to do some landscaping and I can't wait! If this rain will ever let up we can get something done. It's still wet today and will dry out but the rain is supposed to start again tomorrow sometime. We did get some estimates for sprinklers & sod and to have some trees taken out on the property behind us...can't wait to get started. Your yard sound pretty.

TINA...I just noticed your weight tracker...you are doing great!

JODI...how are you doing missy? How is the job coming along? Hope there's no more stress for ya.

JANE...CONGRAT'S again on being a grandmama again! Finally a little boy.

TAMMY...I had a tape for the line dancing and was teaching myself...I loved it! A friend borrowed it and I never saw it again. I wish DH liked to dance...I would love to go and do some line dancing and some ballroom dancing. Glad you guys have fun!

PINKJANE...all three of my brothers were truck drivers at one time. The oldest tired of it, or should I say his wife tired of it, lol. They've moved on to different things...it took a toll on them for sure. You are doing a great job with your walking.

Hi to everyone else.

Going to try and keep up from today. Just been in a blah mood...thinking it is because I am not exercising and the weather is just ugly.

Going to put up some tickers...one for a small WL goal and one for exercise and see if that helps me get motivated again. If the weather would cooperate I could get to the park. Eating has been horrible as well. Last WI I was up a pound. I will be getting back on track.

I'm so weird...I was using DH's nieces wedding as a motivator goal and since it was called off I quit too, lol. Weird. She had gone home and he told her to get out. Take some stuff and come back tomorrow to get the rest. He changed the locks, took her garage door opener with no explanation. As far as we know right now the wedding in June is off. She hasn't had the greatest luck with men, poor girl. Anyway...

If it doesn't rain and the dirt dries out some we are going to get out and do some work on our yard. We plan on planting and picking all the trees/shrubs and doing the brickwork. We have trees in the back that we are getting estimates to have cut down. They are on the property line where our fence will go and V got permission from the owner to cut them down. They are just hedge trees, nothing special to look at. We've got to do that and clean up the yard some, and do a patio before we put in a well, sprinklers and sod. Well, actually have someone do it. V was going to but with his schedule it would be months and we need to get grass in before it gets too hot. We will do the fence though, me and him. Then have this guy come and put a protector on it and the deck. Supposed to be better than stain and last longer. Anywho...blah, blah, blah :D

Hope all is well with everyone. Chat with ya soon

Good Evening Ladies:wave:

Another rainy day here suppose to have TStorms tonite and more rain tomorrow, but in the 70's at least...Hubby called this morning, he had a tire on the trailer he's draggin blowout so he wasn't real happy, took 2 1/2 hrs for the tow truck to get to him and 2 guys to bend the mud flap back into place LOL, he picks up in Lexington in the AM then goes to Washington Courthouse Ohio then down to Atlanta again...Went out and about today did my banking and some shopping, did my 60 on the treadmill and now gonna make a big salad and put some shrimp in it for my dinner......Have a Good Evening all and a Great Weekend.

Mindee - You have a Gorgeous family and I'm glad Brandon didn't hurt himself any more then he did.

Tina - Good to see you back

Cristina - Hope your spirits pick up

Good evening ladies...Glad to see you are feeling better Cristina. You were missed. I know what you mean though, I took a break myself last week.

Pink Jane- Keep on treadmilling. (I wanted to say keep on truckin', but that's your hubby. :) ) Seriously, you are doing great.

Tina- Hello to you too..glad you are back. I am starting to really love landscaping. Hard work, but it feels good. I am trying not to overdo the plantings this year...until we see how things are going to grow here. We started with a blank slate except for the trees.

Mindee- Ouch! Poor Brandon. Luckily he was not injured, but then he has to suffer the croup. You have your hands full. But..you have pretty babies for sure!

Tammy- I tried line dancing and found I have 2 left feet.....but everyone seems to be having so much fun doing it.

Marti- I love windows too, and mine look so nice now that they are clean. Ours here are not as big as in the old house. I did find a microfiber cleaning cloth really makes them shine. After washing and drying I wiped them with a dry micro cloth and they sparkle. I bought a pack of the cloths in the auto dept. because someone told me you can use them on your swifter mops...well, I remembered that they said they were good for auto windows, so tried them and BOY do they do the trick. No more of those streaks when the sun shines in a window that you thought you had gotten clean. :sunny:

Okay...well, I didn't mean to stay so long tonight. We finished the front after DH got the stone delivered. Had my tooth fixed with no painkiller, so no problems there. Got my hair cut while I was out and about. We planted 2 more shrubs, I cleaned the birdbath and weeded around the shed. Feeling pretty good even though I didn't walk today.

HAve a good week-end ladies...and HI to all of you.

Tina~ Thanks for the congratulations. thanks for the nice words on the pictures and on the job situation. I hope things are better on the family front for you in the future.

Cristina~ Thanks for the nice words on the pictures. Tommy opened your card the other day and he saw that you wrote about seeing a picture of her. His response was "we can send her a picture of Marissa in the mail since we have stamps now."

Pink Jane~ Thanks for the nice comments. And also thanks for the words about Brandon. He is much better today, he still has his croupy cough, but other then that he is good.

Sue~ Thanks for the nice comments on the pictures and the kids. He has been moving his arm and shoulder with no problem so I am sure that it isn't broken. Ever since he was eight months old, he has had the croup at least once a year, and it is usually around winter time that he has it....and usually around Christmas time.

suetalks 05-05-2007 10:24 AM

I just saw my first hummingbird of the season. I wondered if they would be in the new area..and YES. Already had several goldfinch at the feeder and cardinals in the yard. So I am officially happy now!
*doesn't take much does it?*

Good morning everyone. I will be back later.

FrouFrou 05-05-2007 04:14 PM

Hiya Ladies...

MINDEE...don't know how I missed that about the dresser...poor little guy. Hope his arm is fine.

Speaking of stamps...don't forget ladies, they go up to 41 cents on May 14th.

SUE...I think it is the simple things in life that make us the happiest, or me anyway. I love to watch the birds/nature. I'll have to remember that about the cloths. I can't clean the lower level windows yet though. With not having any grass the rain is making a muddy mess and it is splashing on the windows.

PINKJANE...yeppers, you are doing great with your walking! :carrot: Throw some of that motivation my way, please, lol.

HI to everyone else

Nothing much going on today. Woke up really early for some reason. Got up and had breakfast and then went back to bed, lol. Doing laundry right now and then going to hang some pictures up on the wall leading down to the basement. Then I am going to get a walk/workout in. V finally put the weights together. It was basically put together but some parts had to be taken apart to fit it through the door. So I am set to go.

Supposed to get some bad storms later this evening. It's getting dark right now. They had some tornados last night in the west, scary stuff. A few people were killed. :(

Well, take care ladies. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Good Evening Ladies:wave:

Just got off the treadmill and checking in, I watched Disney Fantasy Weddings while I was walking and I am so ready to go to WDW like NOW!! LOL Sept 9th seems so far away but that just gives me something to look forward too...no rain today but they still are calling for TStorms overnite, they seem to be staying well west of us though...Hubby called he's in Ohio, he stopped at a truckstop to get a shower came back out and the cat had gone on a rampage in his food cabinet, tore open his bag of almonds, his croutons and destroyed his loaf of bread, so somebody's little fuzzy butt is in trouble LOL, he said he was near a grocery store so he was able to get some more stuff...well I am gonna make a salad with chicken for my dinner so have a Good Evening All.

Sue - Oh the cats and I just love watching the birds out the window, I love listening to the cardinals.

Cristina - I hope the storms pass you by.

Hi ladies....back again. Our weather was pretty nice today, cloudy but no rain. I planted a climbing rose cutting that DD brought over and 3 pixie lillies that Mom bought.
DH and I got in a 2 mile walk before dinner. Otherwise...not lots going on.

I did enjoy watching the birds today, but only saw hummingbirds twice. Don't know if it was two different ones or the same one, but hopefully we will have more.

Talk to you tomorrow....hi to all!

Marti 05-05-2007 10:22 PM

Good Evening Ladies...

It's a cloudy but dry day. Sun showed every now and then. I was able to go and get the car washed. It needed it badly. Went to visit my grandpa for a little while this afternoon. He was getting ready to watch his Mariners!

Today is Hubby's birthday and he's away! Can you believe that?

Anyway...I wanted to pop in quickly to say hello. Need to get dinner started before it gets too late in the evening.

Have a good one.

Hi ladies,

Too many posts for me to try and catch up individually! Life has been so busy for many of you, too, it seems. Although I've missed "talking" with you gals, I haven't missed being on the computer so much.

Neal and I went to an anniversary party for my oldest cousin yesterday and it was great to see family members that I hadn't seen for eons. Tonight the youth of our church is holding a talent show, and that should be fun. Thursday we went to see an inspirational singer, Kathy Trocolli, perform, and she was great!

Tomorrow is my first visit with a doctor in Evansville. I think I have an umbilical hernia, or something, and just need a good checkup, too. Neal and I are going to make a day of it down there. After my doctor's visit, he's going to drop me off at Hobby Lobby, then he's going to the gambling boat, lol.

Have a good day!

Hey ladies! :) I am happy because i'm only ONE pound away from calling it a 30 pound loss! Makes me want to really hunker down! :) I had a crazy night last night - one of my daughter bestest guy friends had been out drinkin' (not with my daughter) and he ended up over my house and passed out and we couldn't wake him up and we had to dial 911 but he came to and it was really scary! We had to call his parents and I thought he was dying. And I got an infection in my foot....again. I wish this would just go away. The dr I'm seeing thinks it will. I meet with him again next month. I hope too to have a great loss from the time I saw him last to the next time I see him... :) So, I'll have to do individuals later. ;)

Have a GREAT Sunday tho guys!

Evening ladies...Looks like everyone is busy, busy....Pink Jane and Tina..Keep up the good work. Jane..Good luck at the Drs. and for Neal at the boat. Marti- Happy Birthday to James..and hope you get to spend time with him.

Had a rather lazy day..planted some lilly of the valley. Planned the next step in the landscaping...and hopefully will work on it tomorrow. I have to go buy 2 carpet roses, a hosta and some ground cover. $$$$$

Not feeling too great, and didn't get in a walk...but didn't eat too much either. Hi all...have a good week.

tommysgirl18 05-07-2007 12:03 AM

hello ladies....how are you all doing?

nothing new here....just had a somewhat relaxing weekend around here. Tommy had to work on Saturday, so me and kids hung around the house. His new schedule has him working from 6am to 5pm during the week and then from 6am to 2pm on Saturdays. yesterday we had to go and do some grocery shopping....we needed to get it done desperately! we managed to get it done without any major problems....except for me forgetting to pack a bottle for Marissa. We ended up stopping back by the house to get a bottle for her before heading to Krogers, but she ended up not wanting it at first. I did get her to take a little bit while Tommy and Brandon had gone into the store. Then when we got home, she didn't want to be at Mommy's diner so she had some more of the bottle. I am trying to get her away from the formula, because it doesn't stay in her as long as it did with the boys. She will eat it and then 9 times out of 10 she will threw it back up.

Tommy's sister called him yesterday to let him know that his dad is in the hospital. His mom took him in on Saturday night. He was having pains in his stomach so she took him in. Turns out he has gall stones, and they checked his gall bladder and it is supposedly diseased so last I heard they wanted to operate and take it out. last time Tommy talked to his mom which was around dinner time, they were leaving the decision up to the doctor in charge about taking it out. I know they wanted to do an ultrasound on it before taking him into surgery.

Good Morning Ladies--

Today is WI day and I'm up a couple pounds due to TOM. At least it better be from TOM.

Been walking every night again. Good to get back into a routine. I need it after all this chaos from moving.

Ok....this is a shorty....I need to get ready for work.

Have a good Monday.

FrouFrou 05-07-2007 04:14 PM

Hello ladies...

Not lots going on with me. Same old stuff...cleaned the house (I LOVE a clean house!) Did my 2 mile walk on the treadmill (the weather is too weird right now to go to the park), ran a couple of errands and getting laundry done. Getting ready to go jump in the shower before V gets home. He's got a guy coming over to give us an estimate for sprinklers and sod at 4-4:30 and then we are off to buy a dinnette set and two bar stools. The one we have (should have never bought it, wasn't thinking) is not really something for everyday use. I want one that I don't have to worry or nag if someone sets something on it. I don't want it to get all scratched and such but something we can use.

Anywho...

MARTI...a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to James! Sorry he isn't/wasn't home to celebrate it with you.

TINA...sorry to hear about the friend, scary stuff. WTG on all your hard work, it's paying off! :carrot:

PINKJANE...WTG on all your walking! You are doing a great job! :carrot: I would love to go to WDW as well. I think my only vacation this year will be a visit to see my ailing father in a few weeks, and an upcoming wedding in September, possibly one in October.

SUE...WTG on your walking also! :carrot: I'm putting carpet roses in our landscaping too! Doing something totally different from the last house...have my plan kind of half way made out. I know what I want, just not sure where exactly it will go. We'll see, I think that's the fun of it.

JANE...hope all goes well at the docs and Neal wins big! Have fun at Hobby Lobby too! I've not been there in a while I think it's time for a visit, lol.

Sorry this is kind of short, and if I missed you. I'm running out of time! Will catch ya next time though.

Today is WI and I am up 2 pounds, ugh! That's okay though as I am back on track with my walking and such. I plan on a GREAT loss next WI! :crossed:

Take care ladies and I hope everyone is having a nice day!
