Hi all...I decided to WI also...the scale didn't budge. That's okay since I just got started back on the walking and haven't gotten very strict with food yet. Hoping to see a change next week. For some reason I am not, have not, been hungry for a few days, so that might help. :)
Put in a scarlet and a yellow carpet rose and a dark green/yellow hosta. All my other hostas are green and white, so wanted a different one. I also did salvia around the hummingbird feeder...bright red. I think I have a couple lilac bushes to buy and maybe one ornamental grass...then we will be done for this year. We want to see how everything does and add or take out next Spring before we start on the back of the house. (Of course we did the trees around back, just not the foundation.) And then, who knows we might take a break for a couple weeks and decide to go ahead with some more. DH has a habit of changing his mind. ha... Cristina- Good luck on your yard. I had a hard time picking things since we decided to NOT go with any evergreens or pines. And I used several flowering things, which I didn't do at the last house. I realize you can't even judge what it is going to look like until things grow a good bit. I took pictures and it is hard to even tell whats what...things are small. We did a rock garden out front and that has turned out to be one of my favorite areas...with the bird area in back. Be back for more individuals later.... |
Hi All!
Just checkin in. I am still alive. Been stressed to the max. Thank God for my antidepressant- of course if I hadn't started it, I prob would never have had the strength to look for a new job to begin with. I about told that lady on Fri that since I was obviously too stupid to do the job as perfectly as she can that she could just DO IT! I had to bite my tongue not to say anything. I think she realized how mad I was cause she shut up. I know I was breathing mad-like- haha. Then my hubby went away for the weekend with his brother. The trip was partially my idea way back in Jan. It was for his bday which was the 3rd. Anyhow, as time got closer I didn't want him to go. We have been apart one time in the almost 17 yrs we have been married and that was for 2 nights when I went out of state to a friend's wedding. I can not believe how much I missed him this weekend. Anyhow, been really busy, and just got over being sick too. I am not really at my best right now. I am hoping that things will calm down soon. I do not function well under stress at all. |
Good morning ladies... have not been posting here so much, but need to get back into the swing of it! I've found that when I come here to review threads and hear what's going on with everyone, I get inspired by other's successes! Makes me want to stick to the plan more...
Have a wonderful and successful day! |
Good morning, ladies,
Tina - wow, how scary about your DDs friend. How is he? PinkJane - my whole family is going to WDW next March, and I'm already excited about it, lol. Universal Studios is offering a 7 day ticket for $85.95, so we're all doing that, too. Sue - I just love Lily of the Valley, and since they spread so much, have thought of planting some among some trees we have. Have you bought one of the Fire and Ice hostas? They have cream colored leaves, trimmed in green. Very pretty. Mindee - hope all is well with your FIL. He'll feel much better once his gallbladder is out, or so I've been told. Marti - hopefully the weight gain was due to TOM. Sorry that James had to spend his BD away from home. When will he be home? Btw, how's everything going with the house? Bet it looks so nice by now. Cristina - Hobby Lobby's section for scrapbookers and stampers just goes on and on! I bought the coolest stickers yesterday - they are of Woody from Toy Story. Makenzie Jane has a Woody doll, and just loves him to pieces. Today I'm going to take her picture with it, and then ask her why she loves Woody so much. Then I'll journal her answer on the scrapbook page. I think that will make a neat page. Jodi - aww, I hope things have settled down for you. Karin - welcome back! Hello to Mary Kate, Julie, Vann, Tammy, Sassy, and anyone else reading this. I like my new doctor, and was happy that he didn't rush me at all, but spent lots of time with me. I have high blood pressure, which he is going to re-check in two weeks since I've never had it before in my life. And I have been put on an anti-depressant/anxiety med. He didn't find anything wrong with my navel/belly, so we'll see how that goes, because I think there IS something there. Today I plan to just chill out and spend time with Madison. It's her turn to be Grandma's Girl, lol. I hope you have a good day. |
My DD friend is doing fine. I had him over the next day so I could give him my 'mom' speech. I sprinkled it with a little guilt (moms are famous for) and I pray that he never does anything like that again.
I'm happy...i'm only .25 away from losing the BIG 30!!! whooo whooo I feel like I'm back on track. I had been floundering so much that I really need to keep my head in the game. I'm also doing the 2 day Juice fast. I enjoy doing that once in a while to keep things fresh. :) I have to go weigh in...a day late...haha...talk to you all soon! Thanks ladies! Tina |
Tina: congrats on your success... 30 lbs!! woo hoo!! what an accomplishment!

Good morning...I didn't get back for individuals as I said I would last night. Life interferred...imagine that. :)
It is beautiful and 75 here right now. I actually got out and rode 2 miles early, so it wouldn't be too hot. Had only a drink of coffee and off I went. Made coffee and breakfast more enjoyable though to realize I already had the ride in. Now if I can stay out of the cookies today... Tina- Way to go on the 30 pounds. I can only dream of doing that well. I am stuck at 6 pounds down....and holding. I could relate to the guilt speech...after raisng 3 of my own and a step..I made the speech several times. Jane- I haven't seen the hostas you mentioned. WIll be on the look out. We have so many trees and shade, I have used lots of hostas. My neighbor from the old house brought me 3 sacks full of starts. I know the Lily of the Valley spreads, so I put a tiny bit at the end of my wildflower garden and double that around the back of my birdfeeder area. Both can go like crazy and I will be happy. Glad you like the new doctor. That is half the battle. How did Neal do at the boat? We favor the boat Caesar's near Louisville, but have been to Argosy, Grand Victoria, Trump, and a couple others..one at Peoria. I can't even remember them all. Would love to go to French Lick one of these days. Karin- Hi, glad you stopped in again. I know what you mean about wanting to stick to the plan more when you read about the successes here. These ladies inspire me too. Funny how when I am doing well I can't wait to write it here. (we won't talk about when I am not doing well...) Come back often. Jodi- Sorry to hear that you have been sick. That doesn't help with all the stress of the new job. I will keep good thoughts for you this week and maybe things will go better. Cristina- I can attest to the fact that doing the landscaping is hard work. I feel sorry for DH when he is doing all the heavy work. I hope yours goes well. We don't have to have sprinklers and sod..thank goodness. Marti- Sounds like you are getting back to your routine, so that weight will be gone before long. Also sounds like your house is coming along. Mindee- Glad you had a relaxing week-end. Hope your week is as well. Sorry to hear about Tommy's dad and hope he is doing okay. Pink Jane- Where are you...I missed your daily 60 minute report....haha. Hope you are okay. Gotta go sweep floors and clean baths....Have a wonderful day ladies. |
Hello ladies...
SUE...your yard sounds like it's coming along nicely. You're lucky you don't have to worry about sod and sprinklers. We also have trees in the back to cut down and a patio/pergola to put in and a well for the sprinklers. Supposed to be cheaper on your water bill and it will pay for itself over the years. It will all get done soon. Then Ernie dog can have a place to roam, well, after the fence. I think we'll be doing that memorial weekend. You'll have to share some pictures of your yard when you are done. JANE...that will be a cute scrapbook page for Makenzie Jane. I've got to get back to my scrapbooking soon. Glad you like the new doc. Hope you have a fun day. JODI...hope you get to feeling better. Nothing worse than being sick AND having to deal with a difficult person at work. Sorry you were missing your hubby too. KARIN...good to see you here and posting. Ditto what you said...I always feel better, and inspired when I come her. Hope to see more of ya. TINA...glad the boy is fine. And wtg on the 30 pounds! MINDEE...hope your FIL is feeling better. I can attest to feeling better with the gallbladder out! I went years with problems and then it went dormant. No pain for years and then BAM! It came back and was 100 times worse than ever. I have been pain free for 12 years now. DD and DS#1 also had theirs taken out. As well as my SIL. It's a pretty simple procedure if there are no complications like I had. I was in the hospital for 5 days and DD & DS went in in the morning and was home that evening. How are the kiddos doing? How's that sweet little miss Marissa? MARTI...are you loving your new home? I sent you a card but to the old address thinking it would be forwarded, hope ya got it...it's been about 2 weeks. HI to everyone else  I am walking to Iraq and Back, lol. I saw this on one of the military sites. In Georgia they are having an event to support the troops called Walk to Iraq & Back. They are trying to get enough volunteers on the post there to come out and get a total of 13,000 miles walked. This lady said she can't get to Georgia to walk but thought it would be a great movitvation for her to get healthy and to pass the days, months while her son is deployed. Just wish I would have seen it sooner...a great motivation for me as well. So I added a ticker. Let's see how long it takes me to walk to Iraq. I added 900 miles to it since I am not in Georgia. I'll have to check out and see what exactly the mileage would be from here to there. I'll be curious to see how long it takes me. Nothing much going on today. Sticking around the house and getting some things done. And spending some time on the 'puter. The sun is actually shining today! :sunny: It rained a little this morning. I went around the park (3/4 of a mile) once and it started so finished my walk on the treadmill. Feeling pretty good with the exercise...must keep it up. Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!  |

Hello ladies
I'm making this a quick one since I've got to get somethings cleared out of the garage that's been driving me batty. I don't want to spend my whole weekend cleaning. But I did want to say to Cristi, that I DID get your card! It came last week....forwarded and all. I will send you my new home address when I'm done here. Ok ladies...I'm going to close this thread too. I will be back next time to do individuals... Have a good night. ****Don't post here: Head on over to 251***** |
