It is cold, cold, cold here too. I can't believe it! No walking for me since the wind is blowing. I didn't/won't make my goal this week.
Jules- You are doing great with the exercising. Don't lose your pants in the wrong place.
Cristina- Like you I am wanting to start back on WATP. Didn't want to do it on the hardwood floors, so finally got the vcr hooked up in a room with carpet...maybe that will get me going. Sure can't count on the weather....
RosieKate- Read your blog and I think you are doing a great job. I have never attempted to do one...and you have TWO. LOL Both are interesting..keep up the good work.
Sassy- Let's just hop in Susan's car and go to the beach with her.....in our minds anyway. Now what was that cabana boys name again? I am ready for a margarita and a slathering of suntan lotion, aren't you?
Susan- Hope you have a good time at the beach....Sassy and I are. LOL...LOL...
KATY...Thanks so much for trying to leave a comment on my blog. I asked Suzanne about it, and she said that because of spammers, anyone even wanting to leave a message has to register, not to have a blog, but just for commenting.
Well I woke up with one of my lingering headaches this morning, but I still managed to get a WATP 1 mile in. When I weighed in yesterday, I have lost 3 pounds this week so I was happy with that. Some days I just get so frustrated though, because you work at things so hard, and you just want the weight off NOW! I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter!
Good Morning! Hope everyone had a good Easter. Ours was, as they say, the best of times and the worst of times. On Saturday, my MIL's partner collapsed and died while they were on their way to a family gathering at the beach to celebrate his 70th birthday. He had been in poor health for some time, so it was not unexpected. He was such a great guy, and a wonderful companion to MIL, and we will miss him a whole bunch. My kids adored him, and they are coping with their first big loss. DD is too young to absorb it fully, but DS10 is very sad.
We still enjoyed our Easter. It was comforting to spend the morning at church and experience the feeling of renewal it brought; we were able to say prayers for R and his family. Then we went the the other ILs for the traditional egg hunt and dinner. They decided to forgo candy and toys in the eggs and instead put spare change in them. Brilliant! The kids loved counting out their change....I don't think they even missed the extra candy. I was asked to bring salad, so I made a pear/walnut/bluecheese on baby greens dish that was so good! I ate a little ham and two huge platefuls of the salad. All in all - a good day despite the sadness.
Michelle - I registered so I can comment now. I already have a Wordpress account, so I thought it would work, but 3fc has a version that they totally control, so I did a login for that one, too. Now where's your blog? I couldn't find it I want to comment because they are fun to get. It's fun to put a blog out there then realize someone is reading it. Unless of course they are stalkers ...but I don't get those, and I'm certainly not one, so you're safe with me, honey, lol! WTG on the weight loss!
Susan- hope you are having a good time at the beach and hope you are missing out on all this schizo weather. The egg hunt was funny yesterday - are we in ...or are we out...in/out...in/out - lots of grownups jabbering about it, but finally ended up outside --'cause kids don't care if it raining, right?
Sue - thanks for checking out my blogs - I am having fun with them. Until I got so busy with kids, I liked to keep a journal and had since I was a kid. It fell by the wayside after DD was born, but blogging helps me feel like I have that outlet again.
Cristina - TY for leaving a comment...ew brussels sprouts! So, are your kids scarred for life? Heh heh. My mom used to make me eat those and they were always bitter. I hear they can be prepared where they taste good, but I haven't felt that adventurous. So what's up for V's birthday? Tell him Happy Birthday for me!
Hi Jules, Sassy, and Susan NYC---hope you all had a lovely Easter
JULES... I've got a couple pair of capri's that are like that. I find myself pushing my belly out to hold them up, lol! WTG on the loose pants!
KATY...so sorry to hear about MIL's partner. Hugs to you all Glad you guys could still enjoy your Easter. The salad sounds yummy, even though I'm not a fan of blue cheese. Yeah, I was a mean mom, lol. V's BD, hmmm, not sure. We will probably go out to lunch and take in a movie. It's not supposed to be warm so can't do anything outdoors. May go to the art museum, if you want to call it that, lol.
SASSY...thank you sweetie for the card!
SUE...I will be doing the WATP 2 mile tomorrow. I am going to alternate the walking at the park and WATP. Tomorrow I will do that since it is supposed to rain. The weather here has not been good for exercise either. I can take the cold somewhat but it's that darn wind.
MICHELLE...WTG on the loss this week! Also, WTG on getting your exercise even with the headache! I'll have to check out your blog.
I am on talked with Josh this morning for a while. Glad to hear him in better spirits. He is back in _____ after an almost month long mission in the big sand box. Of course things have picked up where he is. I just don't understand it over there...those people don't want to do anything to help themselves so how are we supposed to help? Just thinking out loud. Anyway...I am down a pound. Actually, almost two but can't put fractions on the tickers so...and...I did make it to the park. Didn't go around twice like I wanted. Just did one time which is .75 of a mile. Better than nothing I supposed. Just couldn't take the wind.
Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful Easter! my roommate and I had fun putting on a holiday dinner. It turned out really well. All those hours on the couch watching the food network finally paid off...but now there are leftovers...lots of leftovers and I'm going nuts balancing 1) Trying to make up for the heavy Easter binge and 2) Waste not.
Michelle - WTG on the lbs down!!!!
Cristina - Congrats on the pound down and glad you got to hear from Josh
HiyaSusanNYC...thank you! Glad you guys had a wonderful Easter dinner.
Hi Sue,Susan,Katy,Jules& Michelle!
Nothing much going on with me today. Went and picked up V's cake and balloons. He is going to kill me, lol! Went with the Over the Hill theme, lol! Trying to get some laundry done and as soon as I get off this thing I am goin gto jump on the treadmill and get in a walk. The weather here is still not cooperating for my walks at the park, lol. Cold, rainy, blah day. Anywho...just wanted to drop by and say Hi to everyone.
Take care ladies, and I hope everyone is having a good day!
YW for the Easter Cards, sorry they were late, I ran out of stamps so I figured, oh well, better late than never! lol.
Our Easter, we worked. So we are going to have our own small, intimate Easter dinner together tomorrow, just DH & me. My in-laws didn't have one this year, but with my fil's health now and he is on a special diet, he can only have 31 ounces of protein a day, plus he is also a diabetic so he can't have a lot of carbs either. So we're just going to have our own small dinner together.
I talked with my mom today, online, she is taking some time off the beginning of May, I told her she is more than welcome to come and stay with us if she wants too. She said she'd like that. So we'll see, I hate planning anything because the weather has been so nuts, you never know, we may have a blizzard or something the 1st of May! *KNOCKING ON WOOD* Cuz I definately don't want that to happen! lol. So lets hope the weather holds out so I can finally see my mom! Its' been about a year! I can't believe its been that long!!!!!!
Well guess that is about it. DH is getting or has a cold, luckily we got a lot done last week, so no need to really clean much. I have to do laundry (thrills) but that is about it.
Just got some news: MIL called us, I figured it was something bad if she was calling @ 10 p.m. at night, so I answered DH's cell as he left it in the living room again. (he was in his office) So I didn't want it to go to VM if it was something important, so I answered, seems FIL is really sick, vomiting, etc and she is dizzy so if FIL or both needs to go to the ER, she can't drive, so she wanted to be sure we kept our phone nearby. I said we would, its also a good thing, we work nights, because we will be up all night long, even though this is our night off. So if something happens, we are already up and awake.
Just if you can, please squeeze in some extra prayers for my inlaws.
SASSY...Your inlaws are both in my prayers, and I feel so sorry for them both. I hope your mom can make it to see you in May, that would be great.
Thank you ALL for the encouragement on my weightloss, but I've been very down since Easter dinner with the whole thing. I can't believe how one dinner can put 1.5 pounds back on, and I've been unable so far to take it back off yet. I'm thinking of not using the scale for a month, because I'm so obsessed with it. It's really hard when you want the weight off yesterday, and nothing seems to work in your favor. I've been doing my WATP every day, 2 miles most days with the 2 pound weights, and writing down everything I eat.
Sassy...keeping your in-laws in my thoughts and prayers.
Michelle...hugs to you too! Don't get discouraged. I know that is easier said than done. It could be anything that made you gain. Do you weigh everyday, or once a week? I would sometimes get on the scales two or three times a week and get frustrated. So now I put them out of sight! I weigh once a week, on Monday otherwise I would be crazy. Just try to focus on getting your exercise done and watch what you eat and the weight will come off. And come here when you get discouraged or frustrated.
Hi to everyone else, again!
Have a busy day ahead tomorrow and won't be on the computer. So, have a wonderful day ladies! Hugs
Michelle, hang in there girlie and hide that scale! You know you could have someone measure you with a tape measure, that way you will see more results, write down your measurements weekly, not daily. lol. My mom did that for my cousin and me when we were younger and trying to lose weight and were getting frustrated with the scale. Just a thought hon.
I have to say that my appetite has been decreasing! I find that I no longer can physically eat a lot of food anymore! I have been eating small, more frequent meals and I feel 100% better!
Also nothing huge or anything, but I've been doing a few stretch exercises that they gave me in my physical therapy way back when I first had my car accident, for my back and I am noticing a difference.
So its nothing big, but baby steps, right? I know I can do this, I just have to remember its not all going to happen over night, although that would be nice if it did! lol.
to you all and here is some Inspiration for you all:
