I'm getting on here before this day goes crazy

DH had to play 2 ballgames last night. I think he is realizing he is too old for this stuff. He thought that was the last game and now they go to the City tournament and have 2 more games. I think he will definately retire his glove after this.

He made so much noise getting his clothes out and getting dressing this morning I just got up and got on the Got in 1 mile. So that makes 5 days of exercise for me. I am planning on getting in a walk the rest of the weekends. We need to get the gym in at some point on the weekends. We normally go Tues-Thurs and don't get back until the following Tues and then my muscles are weak again.

I'm hoping to make the 10lb loss tomorrow. Right now I am 11 down, but who knows what the scale will do tomorrow and plus I weigh naked and I can't do that at WW So that adds another 1/2+. I always try to find light clothes to wear.

Thunder, enjoy time with your DH this weekend. He is coming home, right?

Bob, MIA some is not acceptable. I'm a hard-a*s. Enjoy a relaxing weekend. Miss State and SC played last night. I didn't see the final score though.

Missy, I can't believe that woman. They should fire the janitor. I'm glad your principal is standing up for you. People like is why teacher's are not paid enough. Hang in there and don't let it get to you.

Gator, I seriously don't think we will pull off a win, but it sure would be nice. I have to go out and find a blue UK shirt to wear. I just remembered, I have a long sleeve navy one. It will be cool by game time. It amazes me when someone says they are full, and leaves half their dinner. I wish I could do it. I think one problem is when dieting, you don't get a lot on your plate to start with, so you tend to eat it all and you get in that habit. I'm working on slowing down and drinking more after each bite.

Monet, hope you convinced Ruth to walk with you. Wasn't she doing SB awhile back? How is she doing?

Hope to check back later, if I don't enjoy your 3 day weekend and stay OP

  • BOB sent me this funny yesterday...so I will give her the credit. Sure got me chuckling!

A man was flying from Seattle to San Francisco.
Unexpectedly, the plane stopped in Sacramento along the way.
The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft, the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.
Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind.
A man had noticed him as he walked by and could tell the gentleman was blind because his Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him throughout the entire flight.
He could also tell he had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached him, and calling him by name, said, "Keith, we're in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?"
The blind man replied, "No thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs."

    Now Picture this:
All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog!
The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines!

    True story....
  • SOLLY: Thanks for asking about Ruth. She is doing pretty well. They still do essentially SB, but are not too strict about it. She has been working out a lot and losing slowly. She would love to lose fast, but she has her mother's metabolism. Poor thing.... Erik is no longer cheffing...but has a great job fixing kitchen appliances for restaurants..and Ruth is still cake decorating for Publix. She is in a better store right by her house now.
  • Howdy howdy and happy Friday.... What a treat for DH he has off three days in a row. I know he's really looking forward to it. Think we might take a trip to Lowe's and to our favorite Mexican restaurant. I'll have the fajitas without the shells or bring my own wheat ones. I'm so happy I got my week in walking on the treadmill. And eating has been pretty good. I'm getting my laundry done and then going to head for the shower. Went to let my pup out this morning and my outside dog had a big dead mouse in his mouth. It freaked me out and I had to grab Jackson and run back in. Hope its gone cause I'm not going out till DH gets home at noon and checks things out.... EEEEKKKKKK! But I will let Jackson potty out back instead of out front where the dead thing is....

Thunderwoman- Now your day was what I call a great one.... I love when things get done and the weather is nice. I actually got to open my windows yesterday.

Fruit- Oh no what a woman that is. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this mess. Hang in there and don't let her win.... The kids need you!

Gatorgal- Loved what you wrote about being satisfied. I need to practice that.

Bob- Good for you having three days to rest up. You sure need it gal.

Monet- Sometimes I drink that sleepytime tea before bed. And I have to agree with you about the Lara bar chocolate mole. It is so nasty and all the other 9 I tasted were great.

Solly- WOO HOO you got in 5 days of exercise too. I'm so proud of us. For once we're both going in the same direction. LOL..

Well guess I'll go jump in the shower. Have a happy day..
  • Solly--Here's an example of how I did it so far today. Got up and took my monthly Boniva, for which I have to wait an hour before eating or drinking ANYTHING but plain water. So ate bf about 9 and was hungry. I had some spoon sized shredded wheats (50 gms.) (I still weigh those) with about 6 raspberries and 2 strawberries and 2% milk. I ate all the cereal and all the berries and left a little milk. I had lunch about 1 pm. and definitely was hungry by then. Not mouth and head hungry, but stomach hungry. I fixed some chicken breast, sauteed in a pan. Then I sliced it and put it on two slices of bread that I had sliced thinner. I added mayo (didn't measure it) and some lettuce. I also had about 1/4 Cup plain chopped spinach which was leftover from dinner. I put about 1/4 tsp. butter on the spinach. I ate all the spinach and most of the sandwich. I realized when I had a good bite left that I was satisfied--that is, I was not hungry like I was before lunch. I could handle several hours bf I needed to eat again, I thought. So I stopped and left that bite, delicious as it was, on my plate. I am now having a big glass of iced tea with lemon and stevia. So will be satisfied, probably, until dinner. For dinner (hamburgers, pan fried okra, fresh corn on the cob, maybe a salad or sliced tomato, I will eat some of everything ( corn!!) but am guessing that 1/2 of the hamburger sandwich will satisfy me if I also have about 8 pieces of sliced okra and about half an ear of corn, and a slice or two of tomato. Just guessing, but I will try to be aware of what I'm eating and not just eat what's in front of me. I also have come to believe that my will power alone is not enough for me to eat "properly." After all, I've been trying with will power for a bunch of years and can barely keep up with the treadmill of food and eating. So I'm trying to rely on the Big Guy Upstairs to help keep me sane around food. I'm also giving some serious thought as to what is "eating me" or what is it that is the underlying cause for my using food as a drug when I face stress, anger, etc. So quite a little bit going on besides just trying to be aware when I am "satisfied." One other thing, just to make it interesting. We are having a young man (9th grader) over for supper and a movie tonight and he likes to cook, so he will be fixing a small pineapple upside down cake. I love those things, but will not taste even a bit. Have already decided that. My DH and the boy will be eating on it.

Gotta go. Good luck on the game. UK has gotta start winning! I'll be pulling for ya.
  • Gee everyone must be busy today. Gator you've given me allot to think about. I must start listening to my body.
  • HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I love Friday! It’s my best day! Well, today was much better than yesterday to say the least. Do you know that Mom had the nerve to come to school this morning and tell my boss “This got blown WAY out of proportion! All I wanted to do was move my son to a class that only has 1 teacher throughout the day!” LIAR!! She lied to my bosses face today about something else too! In the morning I have crosswalk duty and I had to see that BI&&H and she was like “GOOD MORNING!” I wanted to tell her to F OFF! But I did the kill her with kindness thing. Gosh I wish I could cuss at school! It would make my life so much easier!

On a good note I was at 281 this morning! That’s a 10 pound loss since August 8th! WHOOP! WHOOP! Now I’ve got to do good this weekend. It will be hard – Monday is my big B-Day and I’m sure we will go to dinner at Outback. I’ll just be sure to get the steamed veges instead of a potato. I know they have the sweet potato but what good is that without the honey butter and cinnamon! HA! I don’t plan on having many other temptations this weekend. My friend did call me today and she wants to take me to this new Chinese Buffet place we have in town that we haven’t been to yet on Monday for lunch. I’ll just have to be really good there – that will be hard! But, if that’s my only cheat for the weekend – that’s not too bad!

GATOR: I’ve just been serving myself much smaller portions. After each lunch I have some sugar free Jello or pudding so that I feel like I’m having a dessert – that way I don’t head for the snack machine for a candy bar at recess. That really helps me a lot!

MONET: I’m glad you finally got a good nights sleep! I’ve never heard of that tea – maybe I should try that instead of the Tylenol PMs.

SOLLY: Terry played ball for YEARS in a summer league with guys he grew up with. Well, a couple of years ago some guys from work got a team together to play in a league. Needless to say – it had been so long since he played he was so burnt out!! HAHA! You don’t realize your age until you try to do something you used to do easily and it ain’t so easy anymore! WTG with your 5 days of exercise this week. I did 4 days of walking with my little group before school! I had some work to do when I got to school this morning so I didn’t walk. I’ll be back at it on Monday though! As for that woman and the janitor – I can’t believe it either! Especially the janitor – I thought she was my friend! Goes to show you that you never know who you can trust!

TONI: You sure sound like you are in a good mood today! Send me some of that positive energy – I sure need it after the past 2 weeks that I’ve had! How yucky – a dead mouse! I tell ya – I’m not looking forward to Sept./Oct. because they start cutting the sugar cane around our neighborhood and that always brings in the mice. One year I saw one and I set a trap – well, I caught 7!! They had the whole family move on in over here!! I caught one of them napping at the top of my parrot’s cage – you know – in the pine shavings on the top. I uncovered him one morning and out popped the mouse!

BOB: Best of luck to your team this weekend! Terry is so excited over here now that football has started!!

    Well, I’ll check back tomorrow!

    Missy

    BOB
  • Well, our high school team played their first official game last night and we won by a runaway 46-6! The other school has not won a game since 2004, but I did not expect it to be so bad! They got their touchdown towards the end of the game and we all cheered! It really made me wonder why they don't try something different with their coaching staff especially since our school is only freshman and sophmores this year? Maybe they did and we're just that good?
  • THIN: WOW! What a great win! Congrats to your team! I always feel sorry for the team that loses so badly! It was great of y'all to cheer for them when they scored!
  • where is everyone today?!?! I know all of you aren't glued to the tv watching football!
  • I just got in from 45 minutes of water aerobics. I HAD to do that...my blood sugar was the worst its been in over three months. I think it was a combination of the lick of cake batter, and the stress of all I have to do.

Anyone able to tell me how UGA did today?

I will be scarce until after the party tomorrow evening...there is just SO much to get done. I got left with more than I ever dreamed of having to do when I said yes to hosting this party. I must have 'doormat' engraved on my forehead....
  • ON CLOUD NINE TONIGHT....WE'RE BEATINg THE # 9 TEAM IN THE NATION
35-11!!!!! WE STARTED OUT AT #28, SO THAT "AIN'T HALF BAD!!!!! UST WISH I WAS THERE!!!

    GAMES OVER....WE WON!!!!!!

    BOB
