  • Challenges!
    CHALLENGES! CHALLENGES! CHALLENGES!

Move it and lose it! You can eat right and lose, but exercise will tone you, condition your heart, and make you feel awesome! I am aiming for 2000 calories burned this week. Anyone want to join me?

Plan or you plan to fail! Figure out a menu... (I am bad about this!)

Sometimes, we are not good at this one...do something NICE for yourself. A bubble bath, a pedicure, ...whatever reminds you that you are special and loved. Just nothing of a food nature!

Let's make this a great week!
  • IT'S GONNA BE A GREAT WEEK!!! I'M HAVING A BABY THIS WEEK!!! or maybe next week. MOre likely next week, but who cares? It's stinkin soon!!!

Ok, so I'm sipping my smoothie like a good girl. It's pouring outside and I can't get through to the Y to find out if water aerobics is cancelled or not. I'd hate to get over there and it be off, since I can't really do anything else.

I've got to do some ARbonne stuff today to wrap up the month. and I have to FINALLY start getting baby clothes and stuff down from the attic. Talk abotu procrastinating. At one point yesterday I was ahving contractions 5 minutes apart and all I could think was 'NO WAY! We don't even have your clothes or blankets down yet!"

So, My goal is to try towalk alot this week. Jsut to keep moving. With being sick, I wa sitting way too much, and I need to try to keep mobile. I want to make water aerobics twice this week. I've got so much to do, that may not happen. Expecially if they are cancelling today

I found the BEST tortillas at Kroger this weekend! They are a 10 whole grain tortilla with flax seed. We LOVE them. I made Black bean burritos yesterday. Yummy.
  • Mmm!
Good morning! I woke up later than I intended this morning. The power went out last night as we were getting ready for bed, and I slept rather poorly because of it. It came back on a hour or so later, with all the lights, fans, computers, etc. We had to reset clocks and alarms.... whew!

Anyway, its MMM. I hope its a good one for everyone. I am down 7 pounds this week. I am rather happy about that. In fact, I am much more than happy. I might add ecstatic, excited, overwhelmed..

I need to go eat breakfast. I will be back later, and hopefully not talking to myself!

  • My weight is the same for MMM. I actually was down a pound on Friday, but the weekend was NOT GOOD, if you know what I mean. Too much food consumed. I have to get on the stick with my eating this week. Still not doing walking in the morning, but am going to lift weights still. My knee has healed up and so my week off from the weights ends today.

Talitha, we are all so excited about your baby coming. Let us know how it all goes. I haven't ever known anyone who had a baby at home, so want to know all about it. Do you use the bathtub, or a kiddie pool or what?

Monet, thanks for starting the board so faithfully. Congratulations about the 7 pounds. I can imagine your excitement.
  • MMM was not good, up three pounds! I really screwed up yesterday! MIL had stew meat without the veggies and brown rice with greenbeans etc. It was really good! BUT it was also BIL birthday and she had made a homemade chocolate poundcake with the old fashioned cooked fudge icing with nuts in it! Of course, yours truly had a piece and it was so good! but so not worth it! when will I get this stuff through my thick skull!

Anyway, We are leaving on Friday morning for Tybee Island and Savannah! and may be gone through the next weekend, or whenever we get tired of it (or my mom starts getting on my nerves! I have to clean house today. Then Rachel and I were already planning to get a "vacation" pedicure tomorrow, so not sure if that counts or not! Wednesday is their checkup with the cardiologist, Thursday is Buddy's yearly checkup at the vet, and Friday we will get our shots on the way out of town. I figure if we get them on Friday and then again on the Monday we get back, its not too much longer than a week!
  • Hi all and happy mmm,

Mine was up 3 lbs but considering the amount of adult beverages consumed in Hawaii maybe that is not too bad.
Anyway have done well so far today. Had a sourdough english muffin for breakfast and cooked cabbage and spanish rice for lunch.
Dinner will be burgers on the grill and a pasta salad made with chickpeas and ww pasta then will have cantaloup.
We are taking oldest DS to the neurologist this afternoon and tomorrow to JC Penney for sheets for his bed at college and some clothes.

Talitha, Don't forget to get some rest! You'll need it.

Monet, congratulations for your big loss. Are you enjoying your pool?

    Where is BOB?

  • Talitha: It's that magical time when you start to wonder...what will I be in the middle of doing when 'the time' comes...each and every baby born has their own unique setting and circumstances...I loved both of my stories. The most exciting was with Shelley when my water broke...I almost fainted because I was like, "AAAAHHHHHH!!! I'M IN LABOR!!!!"

Monet!! SEVEN POUNDS!?!?! THAT is AWESOME news...it's about time, huh? You've certainly worked for that, that's for sure.

Anyhow...hello to everyone...I'm jsut popping it quickly after eating my lunch. Two small ham sandwiches with swiss, mayo, and leftover salad on it. And a pile of strawberries and grapes. For breakfast I had Kashi and three big cups of coffee. Don't know what's for dinner yet, but it'll probably involve chicken and salad.

Well, Derek and I are now parents of the year in Shelley's eyes. We bought her tickets to go see Jesse McCartney at the NYS Fair in August. Center stage in the 13th row. I thought Shelley was going to giggle herself into oblivion. Tickets went on sale on Saturday at 10am and I had them bought and paid for by 10:10 and she came running downstairs in a panic because she had forgotten they went on sale and I'm like, "Already got 'em!" So, that makes me feel awesome to be able to take her.

And then on Wednesday, I'm going with Derek to New Jersey to go to a party at Konica (the place he works at that is closing) for a 'have a nice life' type party and then to start orientation at Noritsu (the place he was hired at) with two other guys that he worked with at Konica. Then his soon-to-be-former boss is having another party at his house in Connecticut that we're going to, as well. So...what it boils down to for me is that I'll be all by myself at a Holiday Inn with a giant outdoor pool and it'll be nothing but me, a good book and my sunscreen. The kids are going to my parents because the parties are "adult only" cocktail parties and when Derek told his boss we were bringing the kids, he laughed and said, "Oh....that's a good one..." In other words.... So, when it boils down to it, I"ll probably be very sad sitting by the pool with no kids to bother me, but I'm sure I'll get over it after about...oh....15 mins. I haven't sat out in the sun unbothered by kids since about 1991 when I went to Charlotte Beach in Rochester with a magazine and my old walkman cassette player. In my bikini. So, I bought a lime green top at WAlmart to wear with my shorts or jeans so it'll show off my tan I plan on getting. My luck...it'll be cloudy...so that means I'll probably sit by the pool anyhow and jsut not need as much sunscreen.

Anyhow...I'm really looking forward to some time alone with Derek again...and to be able to be with him in a transitional time like switching jobs. The kids LOVE going to gramma's house and I think my parent's love having them over more than they admit to.

So, anyway, I have a little more cleaning to do and I dont' want to spend my time before Derek gets home from work on the 'puter, so off I go. I'll come back for more replies if I can later on.
  • I wanted to post my menu:

Breakfast: two eggs over easy, toast
Lunch: peanut butter and a green tipped banana on one slice ww bread, lf milk, one slice of cheese fruit salad made with 1/2 a peach, fresh blueberries, strawberries.
Dinner: Spaghetti night...whole wheat spaghetti, salad, chicken tomato and basil sausage(organic)

  • Only time for a quick HELLO!
  • KAYE: Yep! I love the pool. I have found doing water aerobics to be really effective, easy and the time just flies! I just went out to do 15 minutes, and it was 30 before I knew it. I don't know what I am going to do when it gets too cold to get in it!
  • GOOD EARLY EVENING ALL YOU BUDDYS!!

I went back to work today and I was worn out by 2p.m.!! I stuck it out though..it would have been so easy to have just given up and come home!
Now let me tell you how uncomfortable sitting in my chair was...I have one of those expensive mesh office chairs that is usually VERY easy to sit in..not today! I'm still quite sore and also prickly and forgot to take a pillow with me this morning!
Yesterday, I got some A&D Ointment to use and that helped a lot. I just wish I had thought of it sooner and I bet the soreness would have been almost gone by today. I go for my post op visit with the Doc tomorrow after work..Hoping all is well!

TALITHA...Time's almost here! Can't believe it's already been 9 mos, but I bet you could tell me real quick to the minute how long it's been!

GATOR...How's things at your house this week????

    MONET...?????????

KAYE... I was here on Friday to check in and give my movie picks for the weekend. Guess we just missed each other!

KRIS...WHEW...You wore me out just reading that...have a good time!

THIN....You're gonna need a vacation by the time you're through getting ready to go! Have a good time!

I'm off for now...I'll check in later!

    BOB
  • Good morning! I slept ok last night, but kept waking up every two hours. At least I was able to go back to sleep after Tom left at 6. Often I can't....

We went to Spaghetti Night last night. It is at the home of a young couple from church. They make the noodles and sauce, and everyone/anyone is invited. You can bring something, or put a $1 in the kitty to help pay for the ingredients. I usually take salad, and some Italian sausages or something, and some fancy parmesan cheese. There are a few regulars, and always a few new folks. Its a lot of fun.

Since I very recently rolled out of bed, I better go in search of breakfast...be back in a few!

  • I've had a couple of interrupted nights, myself. Kyle ended up in bed with us the other night and I ended up in HIS bed, but it was too hot, so I ended up on the couch. I love my little boy and love to snuggle with him, but he has the sharpest toenails and is always scratching me and waking me up! So, last night he wet the bed and woke me up crying at around 3am. So, I had to go put down a towel.

Anyhow...I had salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cukes and broccoli) with chicken on the George Foreman for dinner, about three glasses of iced green tea, my vitamins (I'm now taking 1000mg of C, Centrum multi, B-complex and a calcium pill with Vitamin D added - this is the mix my doctor recommended) and a string cheese and some popcorn for a snack. This morning, I'm having Kashi Autumn Wheat again and I'll probably go have some strawberries in a minute.

So, tomorrow we go to New Jersey, just me and Derek...where my husband says the State Bird is the middle finger. I just about died when he said that...too funny. Will be back later on...
  • Just popping by while I take a break and eat my snack: Blue Bunny Carb Freedom raspberry yogurt, a handful of walnuts and an apple. I got Kyle's sheets and mattress pad washed and out on the line in between rain showers...it really breezy, but it does seem to be a bit humid, so it may take a while.

I have a BEAUTIFUL rose bloomed on my pink peace rosebush. I think it may be the only bloom I get on it, so I intend to take a picture of it later on and post it. It was a cheap rosebush I got at Walmart, the one I got at a landscaping place that was more expensive has about a dozen buds on it and I can't wait for it to bloom. My miniature rosebush has hundreds of buds on it...it is an original plant that was in my garden when I moved in, but it was just a thorny string with no buds on it at all, so I've been pruning and trimming it back over the last five years and last year I had to get a trellis for it and this year it is really a treasure in my garden amongst all the impatiens and hostas.

Okay...have to run again. Hi Monet!!
