  • Good morning! We just finished breakfast out on the deck. It is very pleasant out there this morning. Breakfast was simple fare...poached eggs, half a mini ww bagel and two pieces of bacon, with espresso. Unfortunately, my glucose levels are not as good as I would like. They frustrate me because they are so bad in the morning and at night. Middle of the day, they are usually pretty good, and like yesterday, even too low. Then they spike again. I guess I will talk with the doctor about that when I go in two weeks.

Laura and Justin are garage sale-ing again. I don't know if anyone has stopped, but they are out there. I will probably hop into the pool in a bit and do some water aerobics. I slept poorly last night though, and would much prefer a nap. Two cups of espresso are hindering that idea however.

I will check in later...hope everyone is doing well!

  • what a week. Found out midweek that my dog is epileptic but far worse than that, my son started having some problems Friday afternoon around 1:30, dizziness, felt really heavy, said he felt if he fell asleep he wouldn't wake up, things like that. I rushed him to the dr., (he's hypoglycemic) and we couldn't get his blood sugar up for about 4 hours. He's been wiped out ever since. Wednesday I take him to see a dietitian and then next month he has an appt. with an endocrinologist. We're tightening up his diet in the meantime and recording every food and drink he eats. It's been an exhausting week with so much happening. Next week we'll have a housefull of company for son's birthday. I hope he's settled out by then.

Sorry I haven't kept up with posts this week. I hope to catch up in the next few days!
  • Ann- So sorry to hear about your son. My kids both have metabolic syndrome that includes them having too much insulin in their system. So far it has not affected their blodd sugar levels as it is "resistant" to theinsulin, but that could change in the future. Their endocrinologist has a dietician there in the office and they recommend a sugarbusters type diet for them. High fiber, low sugar and lowfat. So this should work well for him! Glad he's feeling better now!
We went to inlaws today for dinner, but it was too cool to swim. Sean still has his sense of humor has been staying busy to not think about tomorrow too much. He and Rachel have the Nintendo hooked up in the LR and Dad's watching. I guess we'll be off to bed soon. Hopefully we can all get some sleep before we have to get to the hospital at 7:20 am! That's early to me!!
  • We went out to dinner after church...Chinese. I got egg foo yung and did not eat rice, or more than a spoonful of the gravy. I brought half of it home. I think I did ok. When we got home, I hopped into the pool for 30 minutes of water aerobics. I need to find the secret to keeping the glucose levels down over night. Its just killing me that I am exercising so much, eating wonderfully, but gaining weight.

I am going to sign off here and start the new boards.

THIN: You are in my thoughts and prayers...as is Sean! Hope all goes well tomorrow.
