Wow finally made it here for a fast post. I'm so excited I lost 4 lbs. this week. Yippee! I sure needed that. Congrads to all you losers..... Don't have time for replies but Monet prayers for James...

Weigh-in Wednesday

Hello all--just wanted to report that I was down one pound at weigh-in. I was afraid I wasn't going to be down at all. I ate some food with a high sodium content Monday and Tuesday and all of a sudden my weight bounced up three lbs, so I was very happy that my body is starting to release it. I've been pushing the water and green tea--that always helps! This make 15 lbs total since I started the combo WW/SB.

Just a fly by! James' surgery went well. The doctor told me he is one tough guy, because the hernia was really really bad! James said after we got home that he actually feels better now then he did before! After we left the hospital, we went straight to Publix to get his prescription filled, then he wanted to go to Brusters for ice cream. Guess who ended up paying? I did very well all day...I had three eggs for breakfast, a protein bar, some salad and a cup of cream of broccoli soup and a diet coke with splenda. Then I went and blew all my good work getting ice cream at Brusters.

I don't know what I am fixing for dinner yet, since we just got in. Tom is at a conference today, and won't be home until late. I still have time to figure something out! :)

Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers for James. I appreciate it!

Fillise 05-25-2005 04:56 PM

Monet--glad to hear that James' surgery went well. That's the way I was after my surgery. I felt so bad before that immediatly afterwards (even with the post-op pain) I felt much better! He's got to be relieved its over with and he can get some relief.

I know you are thrilled to have it behind you as well!

Good evening ya'll. Once again I'm not at home. But I wanted to stop in and say HEY! ((hugzz)) The bath was great... :) Congratulations to this weeks losers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were so excited this evening when Carrie won. Between my mom and my daughter we got in 600 times to vote last night. Crazy but fun.

Love and hugs,

Toni48 05-26-2005 11:49 AM

Howdy all.... Doing some house work. Yuck..... A never ending job huh... Made turkey cutlets last night with a zucchini casserole that I couldn't believe DH ate. I acted like I didn't notice he was going back for more. Also had a nice salad with homemade thousand Island dressing. Think tonight I'll cook salmon marinaded in Italian Dressing.

Monet- so glad all went well with James' surgery. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Sebray-Congradulations on seeing that ticker move. Its good to see you posting. I'm so sorry you're depressed.

CountryMom- I was excited to see Carrie win. Wow you all sure got allot of votes in.

Fillise- A big howdy!

Well off to do more housework..... Have a good OP day....

Fillise 05-26-2005 12:50 PM

Thursday morning!

Morning all!

Miss Belle and I were at our desk at 9 this morning. So far she has gotten a good nap in, but I haven't accomplished much of anything.

Toni--what time is dinner? That salmon sounds good!:D

Sebray--5 lbs--WOOO HOO! Congrats!

Country--Everyone in Alabama was rooting for BO. I didn't watch AI, so I have no idea who was the better singer.

Toni--WTG on your loss too!!!! 4 lbs is great!

Where IS everyone today? The board has been soooo slow this week. I know Gator is in France, but where is everyone else?

I have to go to a fish fry tonight where there will be almost nothing I should eat. I may try to eat early and not there. Or I may try to save enough points today that I can nibble on a piece of fish and salad. It would actually be easier if it were chicken because then I could remove the skin. Maybe they will have some baked fish. . .

Have a great OP day everyone!

Good afternoon ladies.

I am sleepy today. Don't know why. Tonight is grocery night for the party. I'm dreading that bill. Spent $300 on liquor last night & $164.00 at Sam's (Like Costco). This is becomng an expensive party.

I'm only working half a day tomorrow so I can get my windows washed and my basement cleaned. I'm hoping everyone stays outside other than getting food. The weather is supposed to be sunny and 75.

Toni, 4 lbs is great. What a great motivator too. Keep up the good work.

Nat, I'm sure the rise in the scale is hormonal or something like that. Maybe muscle?

Susan, you are doing great on the SB/WW combo. 15 pounds is something to brag about. Good luck finding something to eat tonight. You are smart to plan ahead like that.

Monet, Didn't they have SF ice cream at Brusters? Glad things went well for James. How long will he have to be off?

Country, I'm glad Carrie won too. Bo was good but I liked Carrie better. I can't beleive you voted so much. My DD got in about 5 text messages, but you can never get through on the phone lines.

Sebray, Wow: 5 lbs is great :cheer: Sorry you are down. Maybe coming here will help. Hurry back.

Got to run. Hope to check in tomorrow, but if not have a great holiday weekend and I will talk to you on Tuesday.

Pancho 05-26-2005 03:21 PM

Hello there (I think I can hear my echo......). It's Thursday and we only have 3 pages of posts. What's up with that?

After taking Britt to school this morning, Lane and I went to Sunflower Market (like Henry's or Sprouts). They had some incredible buys (Cantaloupe 2 whole ones for $1, 2 dozen eggs for $1, Nectarines .88/lb, 1 lb peeled mini carrots .77, bell peppers 3 for $1, Cameo apples 2 lbs for $1, Valencia oranges 2 lbs for $1. etc....). I spent $137 and got a lot for the money. I bought some pre-made shish-K-bobs for dinner tonight.

I was at 121.5# this morning, so I must've been retaining water or something yesterday. I got my fair share of exercise in yesterday. I got my weight workout in at the gym, and then did the treadmill for 50 minutes (hi-lo impact...running/walking combo). I then went to a birthday party with Britt at one of those indoor bouncy places with the inflatables. I jumped and ran around on those most of the night and had a ball. It was great exercise. I did have two slices of pizza, but passed on the cake.

We will be leaving here in a little while. Britt has a pizza party in class today, and we will get there a little early to be with her for the end of the party. They still have to go to school for 4 hours tomorrow; I guess to just get everything together from the year and shipped home.

Toni: Congrats on the loss; that is fantastic!! Keep up the great work. Don't you feel awesome?

Fillise: Congrats on the 1#. You should eat an apple and drink some water on the way to the fish fry. That will fill you up some, and keep you from eating too much of the wrong foods. Remember how well you've done; you don't want to blow it on fattening, artery clogging fried junk food. Did I convince you, yet? ;) .

Monet: Glad James' did well with the surgery. How long had he had the hernia? Better to get the ice cream on a good eating day then to top off a bad eating day with it ;) .

Country: 600 times?????? Holy crap, how did you manage that? How many hours in the day do they give you to vote? I don't watch American Idol, but I heard that Carrie is a country girl, and we can always use another good voice in Country Music.

Sebray: Congrats on the loss. I hope you are feeling better soon and back to posting. We miss your posts.

Jack: That stuff sure adds up quick, especially that liquor. I am always amazed how low our dinner tab is if we don't order drinks. Have fun!!

Well, I have to go clean up some dishes and and put away some laundry.

Have a great OP day.

IT'S ALMOST FRIDAY.....AND A LONG MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND FOR MANY! LET'S NOT FORGET WHAT MONDAY IS ALL ABOUT!

I'll try to check in tomorrow.

Take care,
Nat

Hello, all. Not much to report except that I was really bad yesterday. Went out of town and had Pizza Hut for lunch and KFC for supper. Really bad. Not for sure what my weight is, if I had to guess I would say VERY close to 170, that's about 10 pounds from my ticker weight that I saw just 3 weeks ago. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and "face" the metal monster with all it's reality. Today is better, thank goodness. Lunch was really tasty. I took a leftover KFC hot n' spicy chicken breast(minus the skin) and shredded it up in a big salad made with veggies, 1 egg, and cheese topped with Ranch. Had vanilla sf yogurt for my "dessert." I know it was probably too much calories, but I need it to sustain me until tonight. I didn't workout at all yesterday. I did the 2 mile WATP this AM and I have aerobics tonight. I'm cooking Mexican meatloaf(luv it), fried squash(in olive oil and onions), and green beans and yellow rice(yuk) for the rest of the family. I'm off to check out this new website, I'll post the link if it's any good....

Ellen 05-26-2005 04:10 PM

Hey everyone! I just got in from the Old Tyme Pottery. Its one of those cheap housewares places...with lots of glass and stuff cheap. I got two cocoa mats for the back doors, a wastepaper basket for under my desk, (Tom stole mine!) two beach towels- cheap!, and four 59 cent plastic bowls to use for parties out by the pool. They had two cup glass pyrex measuring cups with raised numbers instead of painted ones...so I got one. My two cup measure is painted and you can hardly read it any more. I spent $25 for all of that, which I thought was not too bad!

I wish I had thought to put on my pedometer before we left. We walked up and down every aisle. and looked at everything that they had. I am sure it was a lot of steps! I know where to go to get glasses and glass plates now. :)

On the way home, we stopped at Harry's/Whole Foods and got some moldy cheese. (the fond nickname for blue cheeses here at my house) My neighbor told me they are building a new Whole Foods right up the street from me. Yeah! Not that Harry's is so far, but I am going to love having one even closer. Its a shame their prices are not as good as other farmer's markets, but they do carry some stuff you can't find elsewhere, and have the best price on organic milk products.

I need to go get some late afternoon chores done, so I will be back later!

THE BIG ORANGE BABE 05-26-2005 07:17 PM

EVENING EVERY ONE OF YOU BUSTIN BUDDYS!!!!

FIRST.....LET ME SHARE THIS....I KNOW IT'S NOT FRIDAY FUNNIES, BUT I CAN'T RESIST!

Redneck Vasectomy

After having their 11th child, a North Georgia Mountain couple decided
that 11 was enough, as they could not afford a larger bed.

So the husband went to his veterinarian and told him that he and his
cousin didn't want to have any more children

The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a vasectomy that
could fix the problem but that it was expensive. A less costly
alternative, said the doctor, was to go home, get a cherry bomb
(fireworks are legal in the North Georgia Mountains), light it, put it
in an empty beer can, then hold the can up to his ear and count to 10.

The redneck said to the doctor, "I may not be the smartest man in the
world, but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a beer can next to
my ear is going to help me."

"Trust me," said the doctor.

So the man went home, lit a cherry bomb and put it in a beer can. He
held the can up to his ear and began to count:

1

2

3

4

5

At which point he paused, placed the beer can between his legs, and
resumed counting on his other hand.

This procedure also works in Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas,
West Virginia and most places in Texas

Okay....I've doing good so far and I've made it two days...8hrs...at work!!!!
I've managed to gather over 8 hrs of PTO also...of course, we're closed on Monday and I'll have to use 8hrs for that, but at least it's a start!

I haven't read anything, so I really don't have any replies...BUT....HELLO EVERYONE

I'll try to catch up this weekend.

I did get THE AVIATOR and ARE WE THERE YET.....to watch...good thing because tonight is all reruns on every show I watch....THANK GAWD FOR BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO!!!

SEEYA!!!

BOB

Ellen 05-26-2005 08:34 PM

Dinner tonight was bbq chicken made in the pressure cooker. Yum! The recipe needs tweaking, but it was awfully good! We also had the collards I cooked in it last night, and rice I cooked in it the night before! :lol3: I had a very large glass of iced tea, sweetened with agave and powdered fructose. It was NOT made in the pressure cooker!

Tom is working on plumbing. I was going to watch Pride and Prejudice with Laura's friend who is living with us, but she remembered it was Trivia night and ran out. I may try and find a good book and lay around and read.

James is doing well, but a lot sorer than yesterday. He is keeping up with his pain meds after taking one an hour late and really feeling it. He showed me his incision today, after he took off the gauze as directed. Its a lot larger than they had expected, probably due to the severity of the hernia. He still thinks it feels better than before it was repaired, which is good! And he is loving the percosets...

BOB: I will pass on to Laura your praise of Blockbuster...she will appreciate it. She is hoping to start training as an assistant store manager soon.... :) Thanks for the PC advice...I am having a lot of fun experimenting.

HEART: Are you finding the journaling helpful at all? You will have those extra pounds off in no time! I can relate though...I gained twenty when my thyroid went wacky a year ago, and then ten more after my surgery and I just can't seem to make any headway in getting them, and the other 50 or 60 I need to lose off....its so discouraging!

PANCHO: He had an inguinal hernia that is heriditary. Tom had one that was repaired about 20 years ago. It started to really bother James when he started at his present job two years ago, due to a lot of lifting. He tests computer stuff for a company that resells systems, and has to lift CPUs, monitors, and larger stuff all the time.

COUNTRY: I am with Pancho...how in the world did you manage to get so many votes in? Poor Bo might have won but for you!

TONI:  That is AWESOME that you lost four pounds! You keep that up!

JACK: Of COURSE they had SF ice cream...but the flavors were so dull! Vanilla, fudge ripple, or strawberry! I got fudge brownie and white turtle...I am SO bad! :(

FILLISE: I hope you did well at the fish fry! Couldn't you just pull the breading off the fish and blot it well?

SEBRAY:  Way to go on the five! I find getting on here when I am down helps. Just vent at us and we can tell you jokes to cheer you! :)

Ok, I am off to find a book to read! I will check in with you all later!

Ellen 05-27-2005 07:50 AM

I must be losing my mind.... I picked up my little strip of compartments that I keep my daily pills in to take todays...but they were gone! I can't remember if I took them earlier this morning, or twice yesterday! :o I don't know what to do, so I guess I will just wait it out and hope I don't get too high BP or something... Boy do I feel like an idiot!

I slept ok, even without a glass of wine last night! :) (maybe it was the double dose of BP or thyroid meds???)

I need to go rustle up some grub for breakfast. Today is Friday Funnies... anyone got any to share?
