Default Weight loss is slooooooow

Well, I've been on Sugar Busters for 2 weeks now and am losing, but very slowly. I eat 2 legal carbs a day (ex: oatmeal for b'fast and 1 slice WW bread for lunch); 1 fruit for p.m. snack (usually apple w/ LC peanut butter), then protein at each meal, lots of veggies. I drink 6-8 glasses of water a day and limit diet drinks to 1 a day. I don't snack on SF ice cream, candy, etc. My exercise has been limited due to the weather - I've only walked 20-30 min. a day about 3 days a week. I lost 3 lbs. the first week, and NONE the next. Scales are the same as last week and I haven't cheated once. Any ideas? I need to lose appox. 30 lbs. Thanks!

Hi there!

Please don't get discouraged. It is an accepted fact that it's best to lose about 1-2 lbs a week for females. This is most likely when you lose body fat, not lean mass or just water weight. The last time I did Sugar Busters and lost weight, I lost maybe 2 or 3 lbs the first month. Then with consistent exercise and never "cheating", I lost 35 lbs over the next 3 months or so. It was almost like my body was protecting my weight and sort of fighting me in the beginning. Since coming back to SB after a long hiatus (and gaining all my weight back) I think my poor neglected body is thankful that I'm eating healthy again. The weight is coming off much easier this time. I would also suggest that you not only monitor your weight on the scale, but also use how your clothes fit, as well as monitor your body fat, either by getting a bodyfat scale or having a caliper test done at your gym or your doctor. Personally, I think that's a more accurate measure, since muscle weighs more than fat. Let us know how you're doing. That's what everyone is here for!

So many things can influence weight loss, I would not get discouraged. Go by what you lose in a month, and remember any thing you lose is in the right direction! I have insulin and thyroid problems, so if I can lose two pounds a month, I am happy. Just keep on program, drink plenty of water and get in as much exercise as you can. Even if you lost nothing, you would still be healthier, and that in itself is worth it, right?

I would like to invite you to come over to the weekly support board and post in there for support. Each week there is a thread for the weeks support, and there are a number of us who post daily. We would love to have you join us. We all just post replies for the week, instead of new threads. Come check it out!
