A real quick reply from Monet, the wonder woman! I actually stayed totally on program again today! We even had dinner with the small group, but I did not touch the no nos, and did fine! I did over do the starchy carbs, but I am not going to worry about that until I get back on track real good!
Work today was blah! Not much to do. The girl who hates me was there, and ignored me. I say good morning to her, and good bye when I am leaving, but she just grunts at me. I still want to slap her. After work, I went to the church office and did my volunteer office work. Then I met Tom at the car place, so he could drop off his truck for some major work tomorrow. I sure hope they finish it in one day, cause I don't think I can stand not to have a car two days in a row! I have to make a cake for the church administrator. Its his wife's birthday, and he wants a tennis racket. I am going to duct tape my mouth, so I am not tempted to eat any of it. I am off tomorrow, and Friday, so I will get on tomorrow and do a nice reply type post! I did not do a WIW, but will have a WITH tomorrow morning and report on whether being OP and taking my meds has helped! DEB: I have a rainbow. I love it. I would love a new one, and I found out if you work for them, and do 20 demos, you get one for free. I am thinking about it.... BOB: Metformin is the generic name for Glucophage. If you are insulin resistant, it will help you lose weight. Seriously, ask your doctor about it. The difference in my insulin levels on it, and off are amazing. COUNTRY: I am making dinner for my small group next week, and they want lasagna. I am going to use your recipe! I really have a taste for it, so I am glad they picked it. I already warned them the noodles were going to be whole wheat! ;) Ok, I gotta go to bed! I am falling asleep in the chair here. Be back tomorrow! |
Thanks everyone for all the good info. I was looking in the wrong section for this weeks posts. DUH ! My oncologist put me on a different med and this seems ro be helping with the headaches. i got on the scale this morning and i was down 1 1/2 pounds. Yeah! Went shopping this morning and purchased some whole wheat pasta and natural peanut butter, Just need to change my way of thinking. I lost my Mom to cancer 5 years ago and she never was one to tell us that she loved us. I always made the first move to tell her i loved her and would give her a hug before i left the hospital it made me feel better and i know she loved me but just did not come from a family that were demonstrative. One day before she died she whispered to me i love you. My Grandmother never did give us hugs or say i love you. This is the reason i never pass up the chance to say it to my kids or my family. Thanks all! Have a great week.

Good morning everyone... Can this really be Thursday!? Am I really going to make it this time.... So far so good.... I've even been trying some different recipes. Had some chicken tenderloins last night and cooked them in wwflour and parmeasan cheese and sauteed them in olive oil. I thought they came out really nice and looked pretty on the plate. I'll bet even my grandkids would have ate them. LOL.. Its to hot to grocery shop for me today so the weatherman saids a little cooler tomorrow so I'll try it early in the morning then.
Libra- I've been on 3fatchicks since 2000 and never figured out how to get an avatar. I'm computer challagened. Guess I'm lucky I learned how to post messages... Pancho- Thats the same scale I use and it work good for me. I kind of would be afraid of the electical pulse thing too.. Bob- Did you watch Big Brother last night. Wow Jee got HOH, wonder whats going to happen now. Will he put Jack and Erika up to break that alliance? fruitloupe- Know you're so busy and think its great you're doing so well. A great big double congradulations to you. bashful- You're right about those best laid plans. Its so good you had something with you and could at least have some cheese. You seem so really busy like everyone else on the board. It sure does seems like we're on an up hill swing here with the weight. I hope it continues... Debelli- I hope it worked out at the viewing. I'm more the stay back sort of person. Bless you and your family as you go through this. The Quilter- Wish your medicine would have worked better for you. How long have you been on it? Shame on you for not calling me. I've missed out on so much while being away. I can't believe one joke from Melf sent me back here and you all welcomeing me into the fold has made such a difference in my life. I hate that out of control feeling and am praying I make it through yet another day of eating OP. It sure doesn't take long to get off track. Boy can I rattle on in the mornings..... Melf- Who could blame you for eating. Thats allot of stress when one of our dear children are hurting. Its so good you all found her a mobile home so she can have a new start, and with a loving family around her I'm sure your daughter will do alright. Is this your first grandchild or do you have more? Hang in there and try hard to get back OP it will make you feel more in control.... Plus now you'll want to be cooking healthy for the new mama.... Monet- Wow gal you are doing wonderful. What an inspiration. Cooking for company is the hardest for me. And I never can figure out what to fix that will go with the program. SB is good food but I always want to cook something for company thats not legal..... I think I'd have to chew a piece of gum while baking the cake to keep from licking a finger. Hope the DH truck gets fixed fast. We just got my husbands out of the garage and I was without my car and just hated it. motownmom- Sounds like you're right OP... Congradulations for doing so well. Well hope I got everyone. And hope this is a great SB day. Everyone stay cool!!! |
Morning All:wave:
Woke up early and got some replies to e-mails that I had racking up, so now I have some free time to get in some posts before I have to get the kids up and all of us start to get ready to go to the funeral. It's an icky day out, thundering already-yesterday it didn't stop raining til the evening-all day long, dreary here and it seems today will be a repeat of yesterday. Took MICHAEL to get his senior pics yesterday - that was $250!;eek: Glasses another $30, lunch $20, movie $11.00 - my pocketbook - BROKE! - get it, like the MC commercials - priceless;) Did have some popcorn yesterday. If MICHAEL hadn't bought it, I wouldn't of missed it OR eaten it, of course, but when he was sitting by me, forget it, I pigged. That was my only indiscretion yesterday, which technically wasn't off plan, except for the amount.:s: Better today. Don't even plan on eating any bagels when we go out after the funeral. My GF ordered food for 50, doubt there will be that many people, but who knows. Glasses issue: Get there, they show me that Visionworks, the perscription they filled is right, but when I went back to Visionworks on Monday, what they wrote on a piece of paper is NOT the same as what the perscription was - so now I have to figure out what to do. Always a problem!!!! NEWBIES For those of you who don't know, we do have a SB PHOTO ALBUM BOARD on the SB INFORMATION BOARDS where you can see pics of other members, past and present and put more faces and names together:) GRAMMY - CONGRATS on your loss this week!!!:D COUNTRY, hmmm, you've been around the same weight for 18 months now? Do you think you could tweak anything? I'm sure you've actually lost a few pounds but since you've been walking so much lately you are gaining muscles, esp. in your legs and that of course weighs more than fat. I'm sure that mystery pound will disappear as quickly as it came. No let's talk about that pair of glasses you so desperately need - pretty? You trying to score some Brownie points with me for some reason;) LIBRA, CONGRATS on an awesome loss this week:bravo: I think you may be right about my GF finally having the opportunity to have some peace in a way. I know he loved my GM, but I know how draining it was for him recently. It drained not only his energy but his spirit. I just wish he was younger and in better health. I can only hope PIERRE, his dog, will keep him going. He'd worry about who would take care of him if he wasn't around. ELI and I a beautiful couple, naaaah, but loving one, yep!;) Thanks! BASHFUL, kuddos to you for a great loss this week and overall:cp: I must of been away when you told about the problem with the photographer, so I'm unsure of what you are talking about but it seems you've worked it out which is great. I sure wish you'd of been on the board before I went to NYC, would of loved to have met you! If you are eating 2000 calories and are eating 200 grams of carbs, you're okay as far as getting approx. 40% of your intake from carbs. Can't remember what calories I told you to take in, but you'll be fine, I'm sure, it takes time and you sure can't get it to be perfect, not even I can do that each day! JACKK, why not make your own pita chips-I've probably asked you before. I have recipes for ww chipatis-they'd probably work in place of tortilla chips, and they sound so easy to make. Will have to check my HFS to see if they have that brand of waffles, never heard or noticed them before if so. Thanks for the kind words on the pics:) TONI, how'd the bread come out? If it was me baking, it would be an inedible brick! PANCHO, funny, when you work out you get hungry and when I walk, it lessens my appetite it seems. Good for you for staying in your range. Your talk of the zucchini bread has me wanting some, but I can't, I'd eat it all:nono: Oh, my kids use to get embarrased about the garage sale stuff, then one day, MICHAEL went with me to a few and he found a brand new lava lamp he'd been asking for, a NO DOUBT CD (one of his fav. groups) SIGNED by almost all the band members and one of his fav. movies, all from the same girl and all for dirt cheap-he bragged to all his friends and from then on, it wasn't a taboo subject anymore. The chocolate is fine that you got. Just remember to keep the portion to a half ounce no more than 3 times a week. BEACH, good job this week - hope to follow your lead soon!!!! Thanks for the idea of being the greeter, will do that job gladly. ANGE, would be happy to send you some of our rain, I'm always willing to share - no cooler temps, that's another story!;) Despite you not being happy about that 1 pound, you should be and I congratulate you! 11 pounds in 2 months is awesome, what are you complaining about girl? You should be losing an average of 1-2 pounds a week in general, and you are doing just fine, so stop your whining, would you;) I'd take your 11 pound loss ANY day. I used to have a digital scale years ago, hated it, got a regular old Health-O-Meter at Kmart which I use. OB visit? I must be slow this morning:shrug: congrats on your OB visit....... Maybe if you MIXED IT UP" more often you would enjoy it even more!!!!!! Don't know til you try it...!! WIthout me going back and reading my old posts, can you tell me what you mean - I'm sure after I read it I'm going to say DUH!!!!! E-mail me your current weight, goal weight, age, and height, that's all I need:) BOB, bad weather here all day yesterday as well, and today isn't any better - hope you fare better weather there than we are here. Those Brews must be hard hitters, major Yids, not us. The Orthodox Jews do things so differently if that's who they are. Going to be buying some beans to fill up those coolers? Don't forget them this time!!!!;) FRUIT, you are going strong girlfriend - CONGRATS on not only losing 1.5lbs but for another OP under your belt. QUILTER, you had me laughing with the "half-Nelson" comment! I remember my DD talking about that when he watched wrestling years ago! The reviews I read about the ROOMBA have been wonderful, even from people with pets it seems. I didn't cook last night, got home too late, but tonight I'll have the opportunity AND the ingredients. I'll probably make both the blintz loaf and the eggplant gratin. I e-mailed the words to ELI, sorry I left his name out and kept you in anticipation. MELF, hope things work out with the trailer, moving, etc. etc. I'm sure it would ease your mind and heart if things settled down and everyone was closer in all ways. PLEASE take care of yourself, mind and body, we worry about you. Don't overdue it with your back, nothing is worth putting your health in jeapordy. {{{HUGS}}} MONET, I love my RAINBOW too. I've had 2 of them, both from garage sales and really cheap, ditto for my sister, last one she got is an older model, but still works like a charm, $5! Can you imagine! I actually did work for them, but was VERY short lived, sold one to a friend. It's very hard to sell one of these I think, it's so expensive and with todays economy, very hard to sell, at least I think, your market up there may be different. I'd only buy another used one if I found it. MOTOWN, CONGRATS on this weeks loss - kudos to you:D My family is very loving and I always tell my DM I love her, and I will never have any regrets when it comes to that. Same with my other GM that I absolutely loved, I never hesitated to call her, whenever I thought about her, no matter what the time was, or the telephone rates. When she passed I didn't have any regrets because I knew I did all I could and said when she was alive, I only wished we had lived closer. Okay, time to go get the kids up and start to get ready I guess. Will try to get on later this evening before or after AMAZING RACE! {{{HUGS}}}:grouphug: Debbie |
DEB: A friend of mine sells Rainbows. She has been trying to get me into it for a while. She sold five in one week recently! She said she sells about one per seven showings. She is making enough to take scuba lessons and fly to Cozemel to scuba dive twice a year! I think she just hit on a good system. She leans toward pet owners and parents with very young children. :) The one I have is used too. I would not have minded a newer used one, but the price they had on one at the shop was ridiculous. Wish I could find one for $5 at a garage sale!

Thursday
Hello all.
Well I have to tell everyone to really watch your e-mails very very close. We got a worm yesterday and it's driving me nuts. I don't know if it's the same one that everyone was warned about last week or not, but I do know that it will keep sending bogus e-mails to you. It takes the addresses in your address book and makes it look like those people are sending you mail. Hubby worked on that thing for a while last night, and hopefully we're getting rid of the darn thing. What doesn't make sense is we have the virus scan and it's updated, plus we have a firewall and all that security stuff on here, and it got through anyway, AND the dang virus scan didn't alert us to the thing until after we figured out we had it. I hope no one else gets this thing. I had to call my DM and tell her to watch her stuff really close or she'd end up with it and she won't know how to deal with it and there's no one around her that she'll trust with it either. Now to some replies. Bashful, Oh yeah. I got this cat when he was 6 months old, and the girl I got him from told me that he was "teething" and he would outgrow the biting. Boy was she wrong! I've had him a year and a half now and he still bites. I think he does it mostly because he gets irritated and has no front claws to defend himself with. Yours are siblings, and I've found out that animals act a lot like kids, so that's probably why your cats do their fighting. My aunt has 5 cats, and I think 4 of them are from the same litter and the other one is the mom. I don't know if they fight or not, but I would guess they do. I'm sure they can get irritated at each other the same as we humans do. Quilter, Wow, that's neat that my kitty isn't the only one to drink that way. I just wish I knew why he does it that way. I'm gonna go for now, got DM on MSN messanger and she keeps popping me stuff. Talk to y'all later. Jenn |
Good morning!
I just got in from my walk and of course I had to come and read the board. It's one of my favorite ways to get motivated.
Deb....I'm sure there are many things I could do better but over all I eat OP....I'm guilty of not eating enough from time to time. And other times too much. :) I've found with all this walking I'm starving...last night I had to get up and get a snack. My biggest bad is no breakfast. Loved the MC joke...I caught it right away. You have a super sense of humor and wit....no brownie points..okay brownie points might work..no calories. Monet...the best thing about the lazagna is you can't tell it's whole wheat. My picky crew loves it. I hope ya'll enjoy it. I'm sorry you work with such a meanie. It doesn't take much to smile and say howdy. She must be a very sour person. Bob...I'm glad you like Beauty. Its a super group of ladies. If anyone would like the link its http://beauty4ashes.org Kim, I agree 155 is a good weight but I really think I can reach goal. At least that is my prayer. :) Thank you for your encouragment Bashful. I hope today is the last day you have to do all that running around. Toni...your supper sounds good. I am starving this morning. I just ate a tiny tomato and that only made me want more. So I guess after I get these monkies fed I will feed the big monkey. Melf...I hope yall like the meat loaf. I'm so sorry that you DD's boyfriend turned out so bad. Well I gotta run get some more glue down. Doing the kitchen in bits and pieces. If I missed somebody I am so sorry. I should take notes. Each of you is imporant and I value what you say. Love and hugs, Crystle 235/154/140-135 |
Good morning everyone!! I've been shopping on e-bay this morning; I have quite a few bids in to keep an eye on. I am trying to get some fall/winter clothes for my baby. My 5-year old is too hard to fit (she's tall & lean). Also, she goes to a Christian school and she can't wear any clothing with words or pictures on it. Next year she will be in the uniform (polo & tan/blue shorts/pants). That will make it easy. I just went to Wal-Mart & Old Navy & bought her about 10 solid color t-shirt type shirts, and she has denim & tan shorts. I did buy her a jacket & coat off of e-bay though. There is so darn much to look at on there, I'd need a week straight to stay online. It is great though. Anytime I want something, I always check there first. You can almost find anything you need. I got one of those floppy seats for shopping carts (regularly $65) for $35 brand new on e-bay. It feels good when you get a bargain!!
I am taking my daughter to Peter Piper Pizza today and to meet her teacher. I really hope she likes her new school. She went to the same pre-school two years in a row, and is going to miss those friends. BUT, they didn't offer kindergarten or primary grades there. Melf: A gas line from Tucson to Phoenix broke and they are trying to repair it, but it keeps failing the tests. They are having to truck gas in, and they can't keep up with the demand. We just got permission from the EPA to have a lower grad gasoline brought in through a line from California to help out with the situation for 30 days or so. It is such a mess!! So sorry to hear about your DD & her insensitive boyfriend. Deb: thanks for the info. on the chocolate. I really like to have it around. I did find that recipe for the zucchini cake that you mentioned and cannot wait to try it. As far as eating it all....I cut it up into individual portion sizes and freeze them individually and then take one out the night before I go to the gym, or when I know I am goign to be in a hurry. That way it has to thaw out, and I stick to the one portion. Also, when I eat on the go, I don't have a choice...when it is gone, it's gone. Best of luck to you today at GM funeral. Toni48: YOU WILL make it through today, and tomorrow and the weekend. You are doing great. Keep up the good work. Do you want to weigh in on Monday???? I think Jack put up a challenge to stay OP all weekend. I'd like to put up a challenge to weigh in on Monday. Motown: Glad your meds are working. Hope your headaches get better soon! Well, better go get soem stuff done. Take care, everyone!!! |
Good thursday afternoon.
Well along with not getting to eat my bf yesterday, I didn't get my lunch until 3:30. Around 12:30 my DD called me hysterical. nothing worse than answering the phone and all you hear is Mom and then hysterical crying. I couldn't imagine what was wrong. She had been carrying things downstairs to load up her car to go back to college and fell down the steps with a big box. She thought her ankle was broken. So I rushed her to the ER and spent half the afternoon in there. Luckily it was only a bad sprain. So needless to say, she can't go back to school yet. She is to stay off of it for days and stay on crutches. They gave her a splint that she may have to wear for 6 weeks. Then on my way home, other DD called and told me she had cut her han the night before fixing dinner and had to get 4 stitches. what's a moher to do?? We left the Er at 3:00 and DD was hungry I thought we were going to MCD's or some fast food place. i decided I would get a hamburger and just eat it ont he way back to work. Well they told her no greasy food since she was very sick at her stomach. So she wanted subway. i don't like that. So I took her home and got her set up on the couch. I had planned on eating tuna on crackers so I fixed big crackers with tuna and ate them in the car on the way back to the office. I worked late and then fixed hamburgers for dinner. we went to the grocery after that and I was full but craving everything I saw. (bad things that is). But I resisted. I was proud I made it through all that w/o eating off plan. I'm out at our job site office now and sitting on the desk is a big box of Krispy creme donuts. I won't dare open the lid. They may jump out on me. All you ladies that are nurses, my hat goes off to you. I couldn't do this all the time and I'm only getting, drinks, pills, covers, ice, etc. No yucky stuff, except for the puke pan in the ER). Enough about me. Monet, got such a laugh out of your post, slapping the girl, the duct tape. Don't pull it off too fast, ouch! WTG on staying OP again. You will get through this tough time. Hang in there. Motownmom, congrats on the 1 1/ lbs. glad you found us. Toni, there is a seet group of avators on here someplace. I'm sure someone could tell you exactly how to get there. If I had more time I would fool around and see if I could find it. Congrats on making it 4 days so far. You are one your way girl. Deb, sending good thoughts your way today. I am a convenience person. Easier to buy pita chips then the time to make my own. Jecrites, sorry you got that worm virus. hope you got everthing fixed. i would be lost, cause wouldn't know how to fix it. gator, thanks for the info. i looked for the cartetine last night at Kroger's and didn't see it, Will look elsewhere. Angehaley, 11 pds in months is great especially if you don't have a lot to lose. Be patient. You didn't gain it overnight (Ithink i did), Remember this is a WOE for life. My scale is a regular digital. o 1/ or 1/'s for me. i guess when it flucuates between two numbers that mean a half? Bob, guess I am just a streaker at heart, you know I'm from the hippie era. Always sleep in the buff too! Libra, please tell Toni how to find the avators. Fruit, 3.5 since Monday is awesome girl. Keep up the good work. sounds like you are so busy you don't have time to eat. bashful, good luck with the physical today. Hope things are not as hectic for you. Kim, sorry you are having trouble with IBS. that can be nasty. hope you get it worked out soon. Good going on giving your boss that tip for the discussion. Betyou got some brownie points. Yum! melf hope you get DD close by. I'm sure she willb e needing her momma when that baby comes. Men are stupid sometimes. better off w/o him I say. Crystle, I'm like you, need to come here first thing to get motivated. Good going on the walk. Mine has relly slipped this week. have a great day. Hope to check back later. Jackie |
Thursday noon...
I have a few minutes before I have to go check on the cakes, so I thought I would pop in again and try and do some catch up. I made it through mixing the cakes, and getting then into the oven with no problems. The worse part will be the cutting and shaping of the cake. I love cake sculpture, but it is hard to resist all the crumbs! So far, so good though!
I am SO tired! Tom woke me this morning at 6:30, and I was rather shocked. I did not hear his alarm go off at 6, and was sleeping so soundly, I was having a hard time figuring out where I was at first! I will try and take a nap after I get the cakes out of the oven, but I have a friend coming over for coffee this afternoon, so I will probably not get the chance. PANCHO: I love ebay too! It is amazing the stuff you can find on there! I have gotten some great deals. I only got burned once or twice, which I figure is pretty good a ratio. I have purchased hundreds of items on there. JACK: See? You think I am sweet? And all I can think of is slapping that girl for being so *****y! ;) Sorry you are having to deal with medical emergencies with your girls. Nothing freaks a mother more than her hurting child. Right? COUNTRY: I understand from others that this is standard behavior with this girl. She tends to get a bee in her bonnet and nothing will shake it. I have tried to talk to her, and ask her why she is mad at me, but she will not tell me, and won't respond. I even asked her to forgive me, if I had offended her, and I got NO response! What are you supposed to do with someone like that? sigh. Ok, more later. I am too sleepy to stay sitting up! |
Debilli-My bread came out good. But it is a dense loaf. But I can cut the slices very thin.
CountryMom- It sure would take me more than a tiny tomato to help with hunger after a 4 mile walk. LOL... Wow one more day and you've really walked a bunch of miles. I'm in awe of you. Pancho- Yes I'll weigh in Monday. That will help me to stay motivated for the week-end. Thanks for asking me. I love shopping on e-bay. Just got an old time campfire dutch oven cookbook off of there last night. Also starting a bit of my Christmas shopping on there. Jack-K- Wow you've really had a round and did well anyway. Good for you gal..... So sorry about your daughters, hope they heal quickly!! Monet- Hope you get some much needed rest. It sure would be hard to resist those cake crumbs, but come on gal you can do it... |
Monet, I don't care how old your kids get, they are still your babies and when they are hurt, you worry yourself sick. IIf you have done all that with that girl at work, then I would say the heck with her and just ignore her. It does make for unpleasant working conditions though. I know you can stay out of those crums, I have faith in you.
Jackie. |
Back again...
My 10 year old is being defiante or should I say totally scatterbrained today and won't focus on school so I am still around trying to make him get it done. It waste so much of my day when he is in one of these moods. I did lay some tiles and am waiting for the next section to set up so I can add some more. It's hard working around the wet ones but there's no way I could lay them all in a day...we have to use the kitchen too much.
Toni...aww thank you. It's all God. Two and a half years ago I could barely walk the half mile to the mail box and back. That was the longest mile of my life for weeks. Everything hurt. :) I LOVE the idea of weighing on Mondays...count me in too. Monet....think how terribly miserable she must be. I'll be praying for her. And you since you have to be around her. STEP AWAY from the CRUMBS :D Hope you get some rest this afternoon. I wouldn't mind a nap myself but that aint happenin'. Outta here...but I'll be back...LOL Love, Crystle |
Crystle--I was very interested in looking at the Ashes website, but no matter what I use, Netscape or IE, I still get a "forbidden on this server." So I tried to find it via google, but was not sure what the site was about. I did find one talking about two leaders, and another one saying that they have changed the name to something else. Any suggestions.
I have been having all kinds of trouble with the ole 'puter. First, my word program stopped working and so when I went to bring up the talk I'm working on for September, it couldn't retrieve it. I had to reinstall the program. Also, my address book lost all my addresses. The book is there, but somehow the 'puter ate the whole bunch. I have no idea how or why this happened. Sometimes I hate these machines because they take up a bunch of time an inopportune times. BTW, I no longer have anyone on the boards e-mail address as a result. :( Eating is OK. SB pancakes for breakfast with an added egg white for extra protein. Lunch was 4 oz. meat patty with some cheddar cheese melted on top and some green beans. I also had a snack of about 2 oz. poached chicken breast with some homemade pesto. Tonight we are eating out. I'll probably have a salad with shrimp on it. I got my walk in, amazingly. It has been gloomy all day and is now raining. I've been running back and forth looking at caterpillars. I have 7 large ones that I'm hoping will stop eating and start the pupa stage. I also brought another kind of caterpillar in from the garden. It is BIG and I hope it pupates tonight. I also have 7 tiny cats that still have a lot of eating to do. They will be zebra longwings when they reach adulthood. Well, I have to get my shower. |
Crystal--I tried the ashes site again. Here's what I get:
Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Apache/1.3.19 Server at www.beauty4ashes.org Port 80 What does that mean? Is there some code word I need or something? |
